Matthew - Chapter: 20

>
20:1For the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is an householder, which went out early in the morning to hire labourers into his vineyard.
20:2And when he had agreed with the labourers for a penny a day, he sent them into his vineyard.
20:3And he went out about the third hour, and saw others standing idle in the marketplace,
20:4And said unto them; Go ye also into the vineyard, and whatsoever is right I will give you. And they went their way.
20:5Again he went out about the sixth and ninth hour, and did likewise.
20:6And about the eleventh hour he went out, and found others standing idle, and saith unto them, Why stand ye here all the day idle?
20:7They say unto him, Because no man hath hired us. He saith unto them, Go ye also into the vineyard; and whatsoever is right, that shall ye receive.
20:8So when even was come, the lord of the vineyard saith unto his steward, Call the labourers, and give them their hire, beginning from the last unto the first.
20:9And when they came that were hired about the eleventh hour, they received every man a penny.
20:10But when the first came, they supposed that they should have received more; and they likewise received every man a penny.
20:11And when they had received it, they murmured against the goodman of the house,
20:12Saying, These last have wrought but one hour, and thou hast made them equal unto us, which have borne the burden and heat of the day.
20:13But he answered one of them, and said, Friend, I do thee no wrong: didst not thou agree with me for a penny?
20:14Take that thine is, and go thy way: I will give unto this last, even as unto thee.
20:15Is it not lawful for me to do what I will with mine own? Is thine eye evil, because I am good?
20:16So the last shall be first, and the first last: for many be called, but few chosen.
20:17And Jesus going up to Jerusalem took the twelve disciples apart in the way, and said unto them,
20:18Behold, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of man shall be betrayed unto the chief priests and unto the scribes, and they shall condemn him to death,
20:19And shall deliver him to the Gentiles to mock, and to scourge, and to crucify him: and the third day he shall rise again.
20:20Then came to him the mother of Zebedee's children with her sons, worshipping him, and desiring a certain thing of him.
20:21And he said unto her, What wilt thou? She saith unto him, Grant that these my two sons may sit, the one on thy right hand, and the other on the left, in thy kingdom.
20:22But Jesus answered and said, Ye know not what ye ask. Are ye able to drink of the cup that I shall drink of, and to be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with? They say unto him, We are able.
20:23And he saith unto them, Ye shall drink indeed of my cup, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with: but to sit on my right hand, and on my left, is not mine to give, but it shall be given to them for whom it is prepared of my Father.
20:24And when the ten heard it, they were moved with indignation against the two brethren.
20:25But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Ye know that the princes of the Gentiles exercise dominion over them, and they that are great exercise authority upon them.
20:26But it shall not be so among you: but whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister;
20:27And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant:
20:28Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.
20:29And as they departed from Jericho, a great multitude followed him.
20:30And, behold, two blind men sitting by the way side, when they heard that Jesus passed by, cried out, saying, Have mercy on us, O Lord, thou son of David.
20:31And the multitude rebuked them, because they should hold their peace: but they cried the more, saying, Have mercy on us, O Lord, thou son of David.
20:32And Jesus stood still, and called them, and said, What will ye that I shall do unto you?
20:33They say unto him, Lord, that our eyes may be opened.
20:34So Jesus had compassion on them, and touched their eyes: and immediately their eyes received sight, and they followed him.

20:1"Because, the kingdom of heaven is likened to a man who is a householder who went out early in the morning to hire laborers for his vineyard."
20:2Now when he had agreed with the laborers for a denarius a day, he sent them into his vineyard."
20:3And he went out about the third hour, and saw others standing idle in the marketplace,"
20:4and said to them, 'You also go into the vineyard, and whatever is right I will give you.' So they went their way."
20:5Again he went out about the sixth and ninth hour, and did likewise."
20:6And about the eleventh hour he went out and found others standing idle and said to them, 'Why have you been standing here idle all day?'"
20:7They said to him, 'Because no one has hired us.' He said to them, 'You also go into the vineyard, and whatever is right that you will receive.'"
20:8So when evening had come, the master of the vineyard said to his steward, 'Call the laborers and give them their wages, beginning from the last to the first.'"
20:9And when those came who were hired about the eleventh hour, everyone received a denarius each."
20:10But when the first came, they supposed that they would receive more; and they likewise received a denarius each."
20:11And when they had received it, they murmured against the good householder,"
20:12saying, 'These last have worked only one hour, and you have made them equal to us who have endured the burden and heat of the day.'"
20:13But he responded to one of them and said, 'Friend, I am doing you no wrong. Did you not agree with me for a denarius?"
20:14Take what is yours, and go your way. I desire to give to the last, the same as you."
20:15Is it not lawful for me to do what I want with my own things? Is your eye corrupt because I am good?'"
20:16So the last will be first, and the first last. Because many are called, but few are chosen."
20:17Now Jesus, going up to Jerusalem, took the twelve disciples aside on the road, and said to them,
20:18"Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be betrayed to the chief priests and to the scribes; and they will condemn Him to death,"
20:19and will deliver Him to the Gentiles to mock and to scourge and to crucify Him. And the third day He will rise again."
20:20Then the mother of Zebedee's children came to Him with her sons, worshiping Him, and asking something from Him.
20:21And He said to her, "What do you desire?" She said to Him, "Permit that these two sons of mine may sit, one on Your right hand and the other on the left, in Your kingdom."
20:22But Jesus answered and said, "You do not know what you ask. Are you able to drink of the cup that I will drink of, and to be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with?" They said to Him, "We are able."
20:23So He said to them, "You will indeed drink My cup, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with; but to sit on My right hand and on My left is not Mine to give, but it will be given to those for whom it is prepared by My Father."
20:24And when the ten heard it, they were moved with indignation with the two brethren.
20:25But Jesus called them to Himself, and said, "You know that the rulers of the Gentiles dominate over them, and those who are great exercise authority over them."
20:26But it will not be so among you; but whoever wants to be great among you, let him be your servant."
20:27And whoever wants to be first among you, let him be your servant,"
20:28just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many."
20:29Now as they departed from Jericho, a large crowd followed Him.
20:30And, behold, two blind men sitting by the road, when they heard that Jesus was passing by, shouted out, saying, "Have mercy on us, O Lord, You Son of David!"
20:31And the crowd rebuked them, that they should keep silent; but they shouted all the more, saying, "Have mercy on us, O Lord, You Son of David!"
20:32Then Jesus stood still and called them, and said, "What do you want me to do for you?"
20:33They said to Him, "Lord, that our eyes may be opened."
20:34So Jesus had compassion on them, and touched their eyes. And immediately their eyes received sight, and they followed Him.

20:15Ys it not lawfull for me to do as me listeth with myne awne? Ys thyne eye evyll because I am good?
20:16Soo the laste shalbe fyrste and the fyrste shalbe laste. For many are called and feawe be chosen.
20:17And Iesus ascended to Ierusalem and toke the .xii. disciples a parte in the waye and sayde to the.

20:26It shall not be so amoge you. But whosoever wyll be greate amoge you let him be youre minister:
