Matthew - Chapter: 28

>
28:1The Saboth daye at euen which dauneth the morowe after the saboth. Mary Magdalene, & the other Marye came to se the sepulchre.
28:2And beholde there was a great earthquake. For the aungell of the Lorde descended from heauen: & came & rowled backe the stone from the dore, and sat vpon it.
28:3His countenaunce was lyke lyghtnyng, & his raymente whyte as snowe.
28:4And for feare of him the kepers were astonnied and became as dead men.
28:5The aungel aunswered & sayd to the women: feare ye not. I knowe that ye seke Iesus, whiche was crucifyed:
28:6he is not here: he is rysen as he sayd. Come & se the place where the Lord was put,
28:7& go quickly & tel hys discyples that he is rysen from death. And behold, he wil go before you into Galile, there ye shall se hym. Lo, I haue tolde you.
28:8And thei departed quickly from the sepulchre with feare & greate ioye: & dyd runne to bring hys disciples word.
28:9And as they went to tell hys disciples: beholde, Iesus met them saying al hayle. And they came & helde him by the fete and worshypped him.
28:10Then sayde Iesus vnto them: be not afrayd. Go and tel my brethren that they go into Galile, & there shal they se me.
28:11When they were gone: beholde, some of the kepers came into the citye, & shewed vnto the hye Priestes all the thynges that were happened.
28:12And they gathered them together with the elders, and toke counsel, & gaue large money vnto the souldiers,
28:13sayinge: Saye that his discyples came by night, & stole hym away whyle ye slept:
28:14and yf thys come to the rulers eares, we wyll pease him, & saue you harmles.
28:15And they toke the money & did as thei were taughte. And this saiynge is noysed amonge the Iewes vnto thys daye.
28:16Then the .xi. disciples wente away into Galile, into a mountayne wher Iesus had appointed them.
28:17And when they sawe hym they worshipped hym. But some of them doubted.
28:18And Iesus came and spake vnto them saiynge: all power is geuen vnto me in heauen and in earth.
28:19Go therfore & teache all nacyons, baptisyng them in the name of the father, and the sonne, & the holye ghoste.
28:20Teachyng then to obserue all thynges whatsoeuer I commaunded you, And lo I am with you alwaye, euen vntyll the ende of the worlde.

 

28:1Now in the end of the Sabbath, when the first day of ye weeke began to dawne, Marie Magdalene, and the other Marie came to see the sepulchre,
28:2And behold, there was a great earthquake: for the Angel of the Lord descended from heauen, and came and rolled backe the stone from the doore, and sate vpon it.
28:3And his countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snowe.
28:4And for feare of him, the keepers were astonied, and became as dead men.
28:5But the Angel answered, and said to the women, Feare ye not: for I know that ye seeke Iesus which was crucified:
28:6He is not here, for he is risen; as he saide: come, see the place where the Lord was laid,
28:7And go quickly, and tel his disciples that he is risen from ye dead: and behold, he goeth before you into Galile: there ye shall see him: loe, I haue told you.
28:8So they departed quickly from the sepulchre, with feare and great ioye, and did runne to bring his disciples worde.
28:9And as they wet to tel his disciples, behold, Iesus also met the, saying, God saue you. And they came, and tooke him by the feete, and worshipped him.
28:10Then said Iesus vnto them, Be not afraide. Goe, and tell my brethren, that they goe into Galile, and there shall they see me.
28:11Nowe when they were gone, beholde, some of the watch came into the citie, and shewed vnto the hie Priestes all ye things that were done.
28:12And they gathered them together with the Elders, and tooke counsell, and gaue large money vnto the souldiers,
28:13Saying, Say, His disciples came by night, and stole him away while we slept.
28:14And if this matter come before the gouernour to be heard, we will perswade him, and so vse the matter that you shall not neede to care.
28:15So they tooke the money, and did as they were taught: and this saying is noysed among the Iewes vnto this day.
28:16Then ye eleuen disciples wet into Galile, into a mountaine, where Iesus had appointed the.
28:17And when they sawe him, they worshipped him: but some douted.
28:18And Iesus came, and spake vnto them, saying, All power is giuen vnto me, in heauen, and in earth.
28:19Go therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the Name of the Father, and the Sonne, and the holy Ghost,
28:20Teaching them to obserue all things, whatsoeuer I haue commanded you: and lo, I am with you alway, vntill the ende of the worlde, Amen.

28:12And when they were assembled with the Elders, and had taken counsell, they gaue large money vnto the souldiers,
28:13Saying, Say ye, His disciples came by night, and stole him away while we slept.
28:14And if this come to the gouernours eares, wee will perswade him, and secure you.
28:15So they tooke the money, and did as they were taught. And this saying is commonly reported among the Iewes vntill this day.
28:16Then the eleuen disciples went away into Galilee, into a mountaine where Iesus had appointed them.
28:17And when they saw him, they worshipped him: but some doubted.
28:18And Iesus came, and spake vnto them, saying, All power is giuen vnto me in heauen and in earth.
28:19Goe ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the Name of the Father, and of the Sonne, and of the holy Ghost:
28:20Teaching them to obserue all things, whatsoeuer I haue commanded you: and loe, I am with you alway, euen vnto the end of the world. Amen.
