Mark - Chapter: 1


1:1	The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God.
1:2	As it is written in the prophets: "Behold, I send My messenger before Your face, who will prepare Your way before You."
1:3	"The voice of one shouting in the wilderness: 'Prepare the way of the LORD; make His paths straight.'"
1:4	John came baptizing in the wilderness, and preaching the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins.
1:5	And all the land of Judea, and those from Jerusalem, went out to him and were all baptized by him in the Jordan River, confessing their sins.
1:6	Now John was clothed with camel's hair and a leather belt around his waist, and he ate locusts and wild honey.
1:7	And he preached, saying, "He who comes after me is mightier than me, whose sandal strap I am not worthy to stoop down and loose.
1:8	I indeed have baptized you with water, but He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit."
1:9	And it came to pass in those days that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized by John in the Jordan.
1:10	And immediately, coming up from the water, He saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit descending upon Him like a dove.
1:11	And there came a voice from heaven, saying, "You are My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased."
1:12	And immediately the Spirit drove Him into the wilderness.
1:13	And He was there in the wilderness forty days, tempted by Satan, and was with the wild beasts; and the angels ministered to Him.
1:14	Now after John was put in prison, Jesus came to Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God,
1:15	and saying, "The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe the gospel."
1:16	Now as He walked by the sea of Galilee, He saw Simon and Andrew his brother casting a net into the sea; because they were fishermen.
1:17	And Jesus said to them, "Follow after Me, and I will make you become fishers of men."
1:18	And immediately they left their nets and followed Him.
1:19	And when He had gone a little farther from there, He saw James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, who also were in the boat mending their nets.
1:20	And immediately He called them, and they left their father Zebedee in the boat with the hired servants, and went after Him.
1:21	Then they went into Capernaum, and immediately on the Sabbath day He entered into the synagogue and taught.
1:22	And they were astonished at His doctrine, because, He taught them as one that had authority, and not as the scribes.
1:23	Now there was a man in their synagogue with an unclean spirit. And he shouted out,
1:24	saying, "Leave us alone! What have we to do with You, Jesus of Nazareth? Have You come to destroy us? I know who You are, the Holy One of God!"
1:25	But Jesus rebuked him, saying, "Be quiet, and come out of him!"
1:26	And when the unclean spirit had convulsed him and shouted with a loud voice, he came out of him.
1:27	Then they were all amazed, so that they questioned among themselves, saying, "What is this? What new doctrine is this? Because, with authority He commands even the unclean spirits, and they obey Him."
1:28	And immediately His fame spread throughout all the region around Galilee.
1:29	Now as soon as they had come out of the synagogue, they entered into the house of Simon and Andrew, with James and John.
1:30	But Simon's wife's mother lay sick with a fever, and they quickly told Him about her.
1:31	So He came and took her by the hand and lifted her up, and immediately the fever left her. And she ministered to them.
1:32	And at evening, when the sun had set, they brought to Him all who were sick and those who were demon possessed.
1:33	And the entire city was gathered together at the door.
1:34	And He healed many who were sick with various diseases, and cast out many demons; and He did not permit the demons to speak, because they knew Him.
1:35	Now in the morning, having risen a long while before daylight, He went out and departed to an isolated place, and prayed there.
1:36	And Simon and those who were with Him searched for Him.
1:37	And when they had found Him, they said to Him, "Everyone is looking for You."
1:38	And He said to them, "Let us go into the next towns, that I may preach there as well, because for this purpose I have come forth."
1:39	And He preached in their synagogues throughout all Galilee, and cast out demons.
1:40	Now a leper came to Him, begging Him, kneeling down to Him and saying to Him, "If You are willing, You can make me clean."
1:41	Then Jesus, moved with compassion, stretched out His hand, and touched him, and said to him, "I am willing; be cleansed."
1:42	And as soon as He had spoken, immediately the leprosy left him, and he was cleansed.
1:43	And He strictly warned him and immediately sent him away,
1:44	and said to him, "See that you say nothing to anyone; but go your way, show yourself to the priest, and offer for your cleansing those things which Moses commanded, as a testimony to them."
1:45	However, he went out and began to proclaim it freely, and to spread the matter abroad, so that Jesus could no longer openly enter into the city, but was outside in deserted places; and they came to Him from every direction.

1:6	Nowe Iohn was clothed with camels heare, and with a girdle of a skinne about his loynes: and he did eate Locusts and wilde hony,
1:7	And preached, saying, A stronger then I commeth after me, whose shoes latchet I am not worthy to stoupe downe, and vnloose.
1:8	Trueth it is, I haue baptized you with water: but he will baptize you with the holy Ghost.
1:9	And it came to passe in those dayes, that Iesus came from Nazareth, a citie of Galile, and was baptized of Iohn in Iordan.
1:10	And assoone as he was come out of the water, Iohn saw the heauens clouen in twaine, and the holy Ghost descending vpon him like a doue.
1:11	Then there was a voyce from heauen, saying, Thou art my beloued Sonne, in whome I am well pleased.
1:12	And immediatly the Spirite driueth him into the wildernesse.
1:13	And he was there in the wildernesse fourtie daies, and was tempted of Satan: hee was also with the wilde beastes, and the Angels ministred vnto him.
1:14	Now after that Iohn was committed to prison, Iesus came into Galile, preaching the Gospel of the kingdome of God,
1:15	And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdome of God is at hand: repent and beleeue the Gospel.
1:16	And as he walked by the sea of Galile, he saw Simon, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea, (for they were fishers.)
1:17	Then Iesus said vnto them, Folow me, and I will make you to be fishers of men.
1:18	And straightway they forsooke their nets, and folowed him.
1:19	And when hee had gone a litle further thence, he sawe Iames the sonne of Zebedeus, and Iohn his brother, as they were in the ship, mending their nets.
1:20	And anon hee called them: and they left their father Zebedeus in the shippe with his hired seruants, and went their way after him.
1:21	So they entred into Capernaum, and straightway on the Sabbath day hee entred into the Synagogue, and taught.
1:22	And they were astonied at his doctrine, for he taught them as one that had authoritie, and not as the Scribes.
1:23	And there was in their Synagogue a man in whome was an vncleane spirite, and hee cried out,
1:24	Saying, Ah, what haue we to do with thee, O Iesus of Nazareth? Art thou come to destroy vs? I knowe thee what thou art, euen that holy one of God.
1:25	And Iesus rebuked him, saying, Holde thy peace, and come out of him.
1:26	And the vncleane spirit tare him, and cried with a loude voyce, and came out of him.
1:27	And they were all amased, so that they demaunded one of another, saying, What thing is this? what newe doctrine is this? for he commandeth euen the foule spirites with authoritie, and they obey him.
1:28	And immediatly his fame spred abroade throughout all the region bordering on Galile.
1:29	And assoone as they were come out of the Synagogue, they entred into the house of Symon and Andrew, with Iames and Iohn.
1:30	And Symons wiues mother lay sicke of a feuer, and anon they told him of her.
1:31	And he came and tooke her by the hand, and lifted her vp, and the feuer forsooke her by and by, and shee ministred vnto them.
1:32	And whe euen was come, at what time the sunne setteth, they brought to him all that were diseased, and them that were possessed with deuils.
1:33	And the whole citie was gathered together at the doore.
1:34	And he healed many that were sicke of diuers diseases: and he cast out many deuils, and suffred not the deuils to say that they knewe him.
1:35	And in the morning very early before day, Iesus arose and went out into a solitarie place, and there praied.
1:36	And Simon, and they that were with him, followed carefully after him.
1:37	And when they had found him, they sayde vnto him, All men seeke for thee.
1:38	Then he said vnto them, Let vs go into the next townes, that I may preach there also: for I came out for that purpose.
1:39	And hee preached in their Synagogues, throughout all Galile, and cast the deuils out.
1:40	And there came a leper to him, beseeching him, and kneeled downe vnto him, and said to him, If thou wilt, thou canst make me cleane.
1:41	And Iesus had compassion, and put foorth his hand, and touched him, and said to him, I wil: be thou cleane.
1:42	And assone as he had spoken, immediatly ye leprosie departed from him, and he was made cleane.
1:43	And after he had giue him a streight commandement, he sent him away forthwith,
1:44	And sayde vnto him, See thou say nothing to any man, but get thee hence, and shewe thy selfe to the Priest, and offer for thy clensing those things, which Moses commanded, for a testimoniall vnto them.
1:45	But when he was departed, hee began to tel many things, and to publish the matter: so that Iesus could no more openly enter into the citie, but was without in desert places: and they came to him from euery quarter.

1:4	Iohn dyd baptise in the wyldernes and preche the baptyme of repentauce for the remission of synnes.
1:5	And all the londe of Iurie and they of Ierusalem went out vnto him and were all baptised of him in the ryver Iordan confessynge their synnes.
1:6	Iohn was clothed with cammylles heer and with a gerdyll of a skyn a bout hys loynes. And he dyd eate locustes and wylde hony
1:7	and preached sayinge: a stronger then I commeth after me whose shue latchet I am not worthy to stoupe doune and vnlose.
1:8	I have baptised you with water: but he shall baptise you with the holy goost.
1:9	And yt came to passe in those dayes that Iesus cam from Nazareth a cyte of Galile: and was baptised of Iohn in Iordan.
1:10	And assone as he was come out of the water Iohn sawe heaven open and the holy goost descendinge vpon him lyke a dove.
1:11	And ther came a voyce from heaven: Thou arte my dere sonne in whom I delyte.
1:12	And immediatly the sprete drave him into wildernes:
1:13	and he was there in the wildernes xl dayes and was tempted of Satan and was with wilde beestes. And the aungels ministred vnto him.
1:14	After Iohn was taken Iesus came in to Galile preachinge the gospell of the kyngdome of God
1:15	and sayinge: the tyme is come and the kyngdome of God is at honde repent and beleve the gospell.
1:16	As he walked by the see of Galile he sawe Simon and Andrew his brother castinge nettes into ye see for they were fysshers.
1:17	And Iesus sayde vnto them: folowe me and I will make you fisshers of men.
1:18	And strayght waye they forsoke their nettes and folowed him.
1:19	And when he had gone a lytell further thence he sawe Iames the sonne of zebede and Ihon his brother even as they were in the shyppe mendinge their nettes.
1:20	And anone he called them. And they leeft their father zebede in the shippe with his hyred servauntes and went their waye after him.
1:21	And they entred into Capernau: and streight waye on ye Saboth dayes he entred in to ye synagoge and taught.
1:22	And they merveled at his learninge. For he taught them as one that had power with him and not as the Scribes.
1:23	And there was in their synagoge a ma vexed wt an vnclene spirite yt cried
1:24	sayinge: let be: what have we to do with the thou Iesus of Nazareth? Arte thou come to destroye vs? I knowe the what thou arte eue that holy of god.
1:25	And Iesus rebuked him sayinge: hoolde thy peace and come out of him.
1:26	And ye vnclene spirite tare him and cryed with a loude voyce and came out of him.
1:27	And they were all amased in so moche that they demaunded one of another amoge them selves saying: what thinge is this? what newe doctryne is this? For he comaundeth the foule spirites with power and they obeye him.
1:28	And immediatly his fame spreed abroade throughoute all the region borderinge on Galile.
1:29	And forth with as sone as they were come out of the synagoge they entred into ye housse of Symon and Andrew with Iames and Ihon.
1:30	And Symons mother in lawe lay sicke of a fever. And anone they tolde him of her.

1:38	And he sayd vnto them: let vs go into the next tounes that I maye preache there also: for truly I cam out for that purpose.
1:39	And he preached in their synagoges throughout all Galile and cast the devyls out.
1:40	And there came a leper to him besechinge him and kneled doune vnto him and sayde to him: yf thou wilt thou canest make me clene.
1:41	And Iesus had copassion on him and put forth his honde touched him and sayde to him: I will be thou clene.
1:42	And assone as he had spoke immediatly ye leprosy departed fro him and was clensed.
1:43	And he charged him and sent him awaye forthwith
1:44	and sayd vnto him: Se thou saye no thinge to any man: but get the hence and shewe thy silfe to ye preste and offer for thy clensinge those thinges which Moses comaunded for a testimoniall vnto them.
1:45	But he (assone as he was departed) beganne to tell many thinges and to publyshe the dede: in so moche that Iesus coulde no more opely entre in to the cite but was with out in desert places. And they came to him fro every quarter.
