4:1	& eft he on-gan hyo æt þare sæ. læren & hym wæs micel manige to ge-gadered. Swa þt he on scyp eode. & on þare sæ wæs. & sye manige embe þa sæ. wæs on lande
4:2	& he hy on fele byspellen lærden. & he heom to quoth. on his lare
4:3	ge-hereð. Note: Exiit qui se minat semin semen suum Ut eode se sædere his sæd to sawene.
4:4	& þa he seow sum feol wið þanne weig & fugelas comen & hit fræten.
4:5	sum feoll ofer stanscylygean. þær hit næfde mycele eorðan. & sone up-eode. & for þan hit næfde eorðe þicdnysse.
4:6	þa hit up-eode syo sunne hit for-swælde. & hit for-scranc. for þam hit writtrume (sic) næfde.
4:7	sum feoll on þornes. þa stigen þa þornes & hy for-þrismeden þt. & hit wæstme ne bær.
4:8	& sum feoll on god land. & hit sealde up-stigende & wexende wæstme. & an brohte þrittig-fealdne. sum sixtig-fealdne. sum hundredfealdne.
4:9	Ænd he quoth. ge-here se þe earen hæbbe to ge-herenne.
4:10	& þa he ane wæs. hyo hine axoden. þt by-spelle þa twelfe þe mid hym wæren.
4:11	& he saide heom. eow is ge-seald to witene godes rices ge-rinen. Þam þe ute synd ealle þing on byspellen ge-wurðað.
4:12	þt hyo seonde ge-seon. & nane ge-seon & ge-hyred ge-heren & ne geoten þe læs hyo hwanne syo ge-cyrde. & heom seon heore synne for-gefene.
4:13	Ða saigde he heom. ge nyten þis byspell. & hu magen ge ealle byspell witen.
4:14	Se þe sawð. word he sawð.
4:15	Soðlice þa synde wið þanne weig. þær þt word is ge-sawen. & þanne hyo hit ge-hered. sone cymð sathanas. & aferreð þæt word. þe on heora heortan a-sawen is.
4:16	Ænd þa synd ge-lice þe synde ofer þa stan-scyligen ge-sawen. Sona þan hy þt word ge-hyrað. & þt mid blisse on-foð
4:17	& hyo næbbeð wertrumen on heom. ac beoð un-staðelfæste. & sedðan up kymd deofles costnunge & his ehtnyss for þam worde.
4:18	Hyo synden on þornen ge-sawen. þt synden þa þe þt word ge-hereð.
4:19	& of-ermðe & swicedome weorld-welene & oðre wilnunge þt word of-þresmed & synden buten wæstme ge-worðene.
4:20	& þa þe ge-sawene sinde ofer þæt gode land. þa sinde þa þe þt word ge-hered & on-foð & wæstme bringeð. sum þrittig-fealdne. sum sixti-fealdne. & sum hundfealdne.
4:21	End he saigde heom cwæðst þu cemð þt leoht-fet þt hit beo under bydene äsett odðe under bedde. witegere þt hit syo ofer candel-stef äsett.
4:22	Soðlice nis nan þing be-hyd þe ne syo ge-swutelod. ne nis digle ge-worden ac þt hit openlice cume.
4:23	Ge-hyre gyf hwa earen habbe to ge-heranne.
4:24	& he quoth. to heom. warniað hwæt ge ge-heren & on þam ge-mette þe ge meteð eow beoð ge-meten. & eow byð ge-eht.
4:25	þam beoð ge-seald þe hæfð. & þan þe næfð. eac þt he hæfð him beoð æt-broden.
4:26	& he cwæð. Godes rice is swilce man þe worpe god sæd on his land.
4:27	& sawe & arise daiges & nihtes. & þt sæd growe & wexe þanne he nat.
4:28	Soðlice selfwilles syo eorðe wæstme byreð. ærest gærs. & sedðan ear. sydðan fullne hwæte on þam eare.
4:29	& þanne se wæstme hine forð-bringð. sone he sent his sicel for þan þt rip æt is.
4:30	And eft he quoth. for hwan an-lichie we heofene rïce odðe hwilcan bispellen wiðmete we hit.
4:31	Swa swa senepes sæd þanne hit beoð on eorðan ge-sawen. hit is alre sæde læst þe on eorðan synt.
4:32	& þanne hit asawen byð hit astihð & byð alre wirte mæst. & hæfð swa micele boges. þt heofenes fugeles eardian magen under his scæde.
4:33	& manigen swilcen byspellen he spæc to heom þt hyo mihten ge-heran.
4:34	Ne spæc he na buton byspellen ealle he his leorning-cnihten asundren rehte.
4:35	& saide heom þanne æfen beoð uten faren agen
4:36	& þa manige for-lætende. hyo on-fengen hine swa he on scype wæs & oðre scype wæren mid hym.
4:37	& þa wæs micel yst windes ge-worðen. ænd yþa he awarp on þt scyp þt hit wæs ge-felld
4:38	& he wæs on scype ofer bolster slæpende. & hyo awehten hine & cwæðen. ne be-lympð to þe þt we for-wurdðeð.
4:39	& he aras & þam winde be-bead & quoth. to þare sæ. Swug & ge-stille. & se wind ge-swac þa. & warð mycel smoltnes.
4:40	& he saigde heom hwi synde ge forhte. gyt ge næbbeð ge-leafen.
4:41	& hyo mychelen eige heom on-drædden. & cwæðen ælc to oðren. hwæt wenst þu hwæt is þes þe him windes & sæ hersumiað.


4:1	And hee began againe to teache by the sea side, and there gathered vnto him a great multitude, so that hee entred into a shippe, and sate in the sea, and all the people was by the sea side on the land.
4:2	And he taught them many things in parables, and said vnto them in his doctrine,
4:3	Hearken: Beholde, there went out a sower to sowe.
4:4	And it came to passe as he sowed, that some fell by the way side, and the foules of the heauen came, and deuoured it vp.
4:5	And some fell on stonie grounde, where it had not much earth, and by and by sprang vp, because it had not depth of earth.
4:6	But assoone as ye Sunne was vp, it was burnt vp, and because it had not roote, it withered away.
4:7	And some fell among the thornes, and the thornes grewe vp, and choked it, so that it gaue no fruite.
4:8	Some againe fell in good grounde, and did yeelde fruite that sprong vp, and grewe, and it brought foorth, some thirtie folde, some sixtie folde, and some an hundreth folde.
4:9	Then he said vnto them, He that hath eares to heare, let him heare.
4:10	And whe he was alone, they that were about him with the twelue, asked him of ye parable.
4:11	And he saide vnto them, To you it is giuen to knowe the mysterie of the kingdome of God: but vnto them that are without, all thinges bee done in parables,
4:12	That they seeing, may see, and not discerne: and they hearing, may heare, and not vnderstand, least at any time they should turne, and their sinnes should be forgiuen them.
4:13	Againe he said vnto them, Perceiue ye not this parable? howe then should ye vnderstand all other parables?
4:14	The sower soweth the worde.
4:15	And these are they that receiue the seede by the wayes side, in whome the worde is sowen: but when they haue heard it, Satan commeth immediatly, and taketh away the worde that was sowen in their heartes.
4:16	And likewise they that receiue the seede in stony ground, are they, which whe they haue heard the word, straightwayes receiue it with gladnesse.
4:17	Yet haue they no roote in themselues, and endure but a time: for when trouble and persecution ariseth for the worde, immediatly they be offended.
4:18	Also they that receiue the seede among the thornes, are such as heare the word:
4:19	But the cares of this world, and the deceitfulnes of riches, and the lustes of other things enter in, and choke the word, and it is vnfruitfull.
4:20	But they that haue receiued seede in good ground, are they that heare the worde, and receiue it, and bring foorth fruite: one corne thirtie, another sixtie, and some an hundreth.
4:21	Also he saide vnto them, Commeth the candle in, to be put vnder a bushell, or vnder the bed, and not to be put on a candlesticke?
4:22	For there is nothing hid, that shall not be opened: neither is there a secret, but that it shall come to light.
4:23	If any man haue eares to heare, let him heare.
4:24	And he said vnto them, Take heede what ye heare. With what measure ye mete, it shall be measured vnto you: and vnto you that heare, shall more be giuen.
4:25	For vnto him that hath, shall it be giuen, and from him that hath not, shall be taken away, euen that he hath.
4:26	Also he said, So is the kingdome of God, as if a man should cast seede in the ground,
4:27	And shoulde sleepe, and rise vp night and day, and the seede should spring and growe vp, he not knowing howe.
4:28	For the earth bringeth foorth fruite of it selfe, first the blade, then the eares, after that full corne in the eares.
4:29	And assoone as the fruite sheweth it selfe, anon hee putteth in the sickle, because the haruest is come.
4:30	He saide moreouer, Whereunto shall wee liken the kingdome of God? or with what comparison shall we compare it?
4:31	It is like a graine of mustarde seede, which when it is sowen in the earth, is the least of all seedes that be in the earth:
4:32	But after that it is sowen, it groweth vp, and is greatest of all herbes, and beareth great branches, so that the foules of heauen may builde vnder the shadow of it.
4:33	And with many such parables he preached the word vnto them, as they were able to heare it.
4:34	And without parables spake hee nothing vnto them: but he expounded all thinges to his disciples apart.
4:35	Nowe the same day when euen was come, he saide vnto them, Let vs passe ouer vnto the other side.
4:36	And they left the multitude, and tooke him as he was in the shippe, and there were also with him other little shippes.
4:37	And there arose a great storme of winde, and the waues dashed into the shippe, so that it was now full.
4:38	And he was in the sterne asleepe on a pillow: and they awoke him, and saide to him, Master, carest thou not that we perish?
4:39	And hee rose vp, and rebuked the winde, and saide vnto the sea, Peace, and be still. So the winde ceased, and it was a great calme.
4:40	Then he saide vnto them, Why are ye so fearefull? how is it that ye haue no faith?
4:41	And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, Who is this, that both the winde and sea obey him?


4:1	And he began agayne to teache by the seesyde. And there gadered to gedder vnto him moche people so greatly yt he entred into a ship and sate in the see and all the people was by the seeside on the shoore.
4:2	And he taught them many thynges in similitudes and sayde vnto them in his doctrine:
4:3	Herken to. Beholde There wet out a sower to sowe.
4:4	And it fortuned as he sowed that some fell by the waye syde and the fowles of the ayre came and devoured it vp.
4:5	Some fell on stony grounde where it had not moche erth: and by and by sprange vp because it had not deepth of erth:
4:6	but as sone as the sunne was vp it caught heet and because it had not rotynge wyddred awaye.
4:7	And some fell amonge the thornes and the thornes grewe vp and choked it so that it gave no frute.
4:8	And some fell vpon good grounde and dyd yelde frute that sproge and grewe and brought forthe: some thirty folde some sixtie folde and some an hundred folde.
4:9	And he sayde vnto them: he that hath eares to heare let him heare.
4:10	And when he was alone they yt were aboute him with ye .xii. axed him of ye similitude.
4:11	And he sayde vnto the. To you it is geve to knowe the mistery of the kyngdome of God. But vnto them that are wt out shall all thinges be done in similitudes:
4:12	yt when they se they shall se and not discerne: and when they heare they shall heare and not vnderstonde: leste at any tyme they shulde tourne and their synnes shuld be forgeve the.
4:13	And he sayde vnto the: Perceave ye not this similitude? how then shulde ye vnderstonde all other similitudes?
4:14	The sower soweth ye worde.
4:15	And they that are by the wayes syde where the worde is sowen are they to whom assone as they have herde it Satha cometh immediatly and takith awaye the worde that was sowe in their hertes.
4:16	And likewise they that are sowen on the stonye groude are they: which when they have harde the worde at once receave it wt gladnes
4:17	yet have no rotes in them selves and so endure but a tyme: and anone as trouble and persecucion aryseth for ye wordes sake they fall immediatly.
4:18	And they that are sowe amoge the thornes are soche as heare ye worde:
4:19	and ye care of this worlde and ye disseytfulnes of ryches and the lustes of other thinges entre in and choocke ye worde and it is made vnfrutfull.
4:20	And those that weare sowe in good grounde are they that heare the worde and receave it and bringe forth frute some thirty folde some sixty folde some an hundred folde.
4:21	And he sayde vnto them: is ye candle lighted to be put vnder a busshell or vnder ye table and not rather to be put on a cadelstick?
4:22	For there is nothinge so prevy that shall not be opened: nether so secreet but that it shall come abroade.
4:23	Yf eny man have eares to heare let him heare.
4:24	And he sayde vnto them: take hede what ye heare. With what measure ye mete with the same shall it be measured vnto you agayne. And vnto you that heare shall more be geve.
4:25	For vnto him yt hath shall it be geven: and from him that hath not shalbe taken awaye even that he hath.
4:26	And he sayde: so is the kyngdome of God even as yf a man shuld sowe seed in ye groude
4:27	and shulde slepe and ryse vp night and daye: and the seede shuld springe and growe vp he not ware.
4:28	For ye erth bringeth forthe frute of her silfe: fyrst the blade then the eares after that full corne in the eares.
4:29	And as sone as the frute is brought forth anone he throusteth in ye sykell because the hervest is come.
4:30	And he sayde: where vnto shall we lyke the kyngdome of God? or with what copareson shall we copare it?
4:31	It is lyke a grayne of mustard seed which when it is sowe in the erth is the leest of all seedes that be in the erth:
4:32	but after that it is sowen it groweth vp and is greatest of all yerbes: and bereth greate brauches so that ye fowles of the ayre maye dwell vnder the shadowe of it.
4:33	And with many soche similitudes he preached the worde vnto the after as they myght heare it.
4:34	And with out similitude spake he no thinge vnto them. But when they were aparte he expounded all thinges to his disciples.
4:35	And the same daye when even was come he sayde vnto them: let vs passe over vnto the other syde.
4:36	And they lefte the people and toke him even as he was in the shyp. And ther were also with him other shippes.
4:37	And ther arose a great storme of wynde and dasshed ye waves into the ship so that it was full.
4:38	And he was in the sterne a slepe on a pelowe. And they awoke him and sayde to him: Master carest thou not yt we perisshe?
4:39	And he rose vp and rebuked the wynde and sayde vnto the see: peace and be still. And the winde alayed and ther folowed a greate calme.
4:40	And he sayde vnto them: why are ye so fearfull? How is it that ye have no fayth?
4:41	And they feared excedingly and sayde one to another: what felowe is this? For booth winde and see obey him.
