Mark - Chapter: 9

>
9:1And He said to them, "Truly, I say to you that there are some standing here who will not taste death until they see the kingdom of God coming with power."
9:2Now after six days Jesus took Peter, James, and John, with Him and led them up on a high mountain privately by themselves; and He was transfigured before them.
9:3His clothes became shining, exceedingly white, like snow, such as no launderer on earth can whiten them.
9:4And Elijah appeared to them with Moses, and they were talking with Jesus.
9:5Then Peter responded and said to Jesus, "Teacher, it is good for us to be here; and let us make three tabernacles: one for You, one for Moses, and one for Elijah,"
9:6because, he did not know what to say, because, they were greatly afraid.
9:7And a cloud came and overshadowed them; and a voice came out of the cloud, saying, "This is My beloved Son. Hear Him!"
9:8Then suddenly, when they had looked around, they saw no one anymore, but only Jesus with themselves.
9:9Now as they came down from the mountain, He commanded them that they should tell no one the things they had seen, until the Son of Man had risen from the dead.
9:10So they kept this saying to themselves, questioning one another what the rising from the dead meant.
9:11And they asked Him, saying, "Why do the scribes say that Elijah must come first?"
9:12Then He answered and told them, "Indeed, Elijah comes first and restores all things; and just like it is written concerning the Son of Man, that He must suffer many things and be treated with contempt."
9:13But I say to you that Elijah indeed came, and they did to him whatever they wished, as it is written of him."
9:14And when He came to His disciples, He saw a large crowd around them, and scribes disputing with them.
9:15And immediately, when they saw Him, all the people were greatly amazed, and running to Him, greeted Him.
9:16And He asked the scribes, "What are you disputing with them?"
9:17Then one of the crowd answered and said, "Teacher, I brought my son to You, who has a mute spirit.
9:18And wherever it seizes him, it throws him down; he foams at the mouth, gnashes his teeth, and withers away. So I spoke to Your disciples, that they should cast it out, but they could not."
9:19He answered him and said, "O faithless generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I bear with you? Bring him to Me."
9:20Then they brought him to Him. And when he saw Him, immediately the spirit convulsed him, and he fell on the ground and rolled around, foaming at the mouth.
9:21So He asked his father, "How long has this been happening to him?" And he said, "From childhood.
9:22And often it has thrown him both into the fire and into the water to destroy him. But if You can do anything, have compassion on us and help us."
9:23Jesus said to him, "If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes."
9:24Immediately the father of the child cried out and said with tears, "Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!"
9:25When Jesus saw that the people came running together, He rebuked the unclean spirit, saying to it: "You mute and deaf spirit, I command you, come out of him and enter into him no more!"
9:26Then the spirit shouted out, convulsed him greatly, and came out of him. And he became as one dead, so that many said, "He is dead."
9:27But Jesus took him by the hand and lifted him up, and he arose.
9:28And when He had come into the house, His disciples asked Him privately, "Why could we not cast it out?"
9:29So He said to them, "This kind can come out by nothing but through prayer and fasting."
9:30Then they departed from there and passed through Galilee, and He did not want anyone to know it.
9:31Because, He taught His disciples and said to them, "The Son of Man is being delivered into the hands of men, and they will kill Him. And after He is killed, He will rise the third day."
9:32But they did not understand this saying, and were afraid to ask Him.
9:33Then He came to Capernaum. And when He was in the house He asked them, "What was it you disputed among yourselves on the road?"
9:34But they kept silent, because, on the road they had disputed among themselves who would be the greatest.
9:35And He sat down, called the twelve, and said to them, "If anyone desires to be first, he shall be last of all and servant of all."
9:36Then He took a child and set him in the midst of them. And when He had taken him in His arms, He said to them,
9:37"Whoever receives one of these children in My name receives Me; and whoever receives Me, receives not Me but Him who sent Me."
9:38Now John replied to Him, saying, "Teacher, we saw someone who does not follow us casting out demons in Your name, and we forbade him because he does not follow us."
9:39But Jesus said, "Do not forbid him, because, no one who works a miracle in My name can soon afterward speak evil of Me."
9:40Because he who is not against us is on our side."
9:41Because, whoever gives you a cup of water to drink in My name, because you belong to Christ, truly, I say to you, he will not lose his reward."
9:42"But whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to stumble, it would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were thrown into the sea."
9:43And if your hand causes you to offend, cut it off. It is better for you to enter into life maimed, rather than having two hands, to go to hell, into the fire that will never be quenched,"
9:44where 'Their worm does not die and the fire is not quenched.'"
9:45And if your foot causes you to offend, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life lame, rather than having two feet, to be cast into hell, into the fire that will never be quenched,"
9:46where 'Their worm does not die, and the fire is not quenched.'"
9:47And if your eye causes you to offend, pluck it out. It is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye, rather than having two eyes, to be cast into hell fire,"
9:48where 'Their worm does not die and the fire is not quenched.'"
9:49"Because, everyone will be seasoned with fire, and every sacrifice will be seasoned with salt."
9:50Salt is good, but if the salt loses its flavor, how will you season it? Have salt in yourselves, and have peace with one another."

9:1And he saide vnto them, Verely I say vnto you, that there be some of them that stande here, which shall not taste of death till they haue seene the kingdome of God come with power.
9:2And sixe dayes after, Iesus taketh vnto him Peter, and Iames, and Iohn, and carieth them vp into an hie mountaine out of the way alone, and his shape was changed before them.
9:3And his rayment did shine, and was very white, as snowe, so white as no fuller can make vpon the earth.
9:4And there appeared vnto them Elias with Moses, and they were talking with Iesus.
9:5Then Peter answered, and said to Iesus, Master, it is good for vs to be here: let vs make also three tabernacles, one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias.
9:6Yet hee knewe not what he saide: for they were afraide.
9:7And there was a cloude that shadowed them, and a voyce came out of the cloude, saying, This is my beloued Sonne: heare him.
9:8And suddenly they looked roud about, and sawe no more any man saue Iesus only with them.
9:9And as they came downe from the mountaine, he charged them, that they should tell no man what they had seene, saue when the Sonne of man were risen from the dead againe.
9:10So they kept that matter to themselues, and demaunded one of another, what the rising from the dead againe should meane?
9:11Also they asked him, saying, Why say the Scribes, that Elias must first come?
9:12And he answered, and said vnto them, Elias verely shall first come, and restore all things: and as it is written of the Sonne of man, hee must suffer many things, and be set at nought.
9:13But I say vnto you, that Elias is come, (and they haue done vnto him whatsoeuer they would) as it is written of him.
9:14And when he came to his disciples, he saw a great multitude about them, and the Scribes disputing with them.
9:15And straightway all the people, when they behelde him, were amased, and ranne to him, and saluted him.
9:16Then hee asked the Scribes, What dispute you among your selues?
9:17And one of the companie answered, and said, Master, I haue brought my sonne vnto thee, which hath a dumme spirit:
9:18And wheresoeuer he taketh him, he teareth him, and he fometh, and gnasheth his teeth, and pineth away: and I spake to thy disciples, that they should cast him out, and they could not.
9:19Then he answered him, and said, O faithlesse generation, how long now shall I be with you! how long now shall I suffer you! Bring him vnto me.
9:20So they brought him vnto him: and assoone as the spirit sawe him, hee tare him, and hee fell downe on the ground walowing and foming.
9:21Then he asked his father, How long time is it since he hath bin thus? And he said, Of a childe.
9:22And oft times he casteth him into the fire, and into the water to destroy him: but if thou canst do any thing, helpe vs, and haue compassion vpon vs.
9:23And Iesus said vnto him, If thou canst beleeue it, al things are possible to him that beleeueth.
9:24And straightway the father of the childe crying with teares, saide, Lord, I beleeue: helpe my vnbeliefe.
9:25When Iesus saw that the people came running together, he rebuked the vncleane spirit, saying vnto him, Thou domme and deafe spirit, I charge thee, come out of him, and enter no more into him.
9:26Then the spirit cried, and rent him sore, and came out, and he was as one dead, in so much that many said, He is dead.
9:27But Iesus tooke his hande, and lift him vp, and he arose.
9:28And when hee was come into the house, his disciples asked him secretly, Why could not we cast him out?
9:29And he saide vnto them, This kinde can by no other meanes come foorth, but by prayer and fasting.
9:30And they departed thence, and went together through Galile, and hee would not that any should haue knowen it.
9:31For he taught his disciples, and saide vnto them, The Sonne of man shalbe deliuered into the handes of men, and they shall kill him, but after that he is killed, he shall rise againe the third day.
9:32But they vnderstoode not that saying, and were afraide to aske him.
9:33After, he came to Capernaum: and when he was in the house, he asked them, What was it that ye disputed among you by the way?
9:34And they helde their peace: for by the way they reasoned among themselues, who should bee the chiefest.
9:35And he sate downe, and called the twelue, and said to them, If any man desire to be first, the same shalbe last of all, and seruant vnto all.
9:36And he tooke a litle childe, and set him in the middes of them, and tooke him in his armes, and sayd vnto them,
9:37Whosoeuer shall receiue one of such litle children in my Name, receiueth me: and whosoeuer receiueth mee, receiueth not me, but him that sent me.
9:38Then Iohn answered him, saying, Master, we sawe one casting out deuils by thy Name, which followeth not vs, and we forbade him, because he followeth vs not.
9:39But Iesus sayd, Forbid him not: for there is no man that can doe a miracle by my Name, that can lightly speake euill of me.
9:40For whosoeuer is not against vs, is on our part.
9:41And whosoeuer shall giue you a cup of water to drinke for my Names sake, because ye belong to Christ, verely I say vnto you, he shall not lose his rewarde.
9:42And whosoeuer shall offend one of these litle ones, that beleeue in me, it were better for him rather, that a milstone were hanged about his necke, and that he were cast into the sea.
9:43Wherefore, if thine hand cause thee to offend, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life, maimed, then hauing two hands, to goe into hell, into the fire that neuer shalbe quenched,
9:44Where their worme dyeth not, and the fire neuer goeth out.
9:45Likewise, if thy foote cause thee to offend, cut it off: it is better for thee to go halt into life, then hauing two feete, to be cast into hell, into the fire that neuer shalbe quenched,
9:46Where their worme dyeth not, and the fire neuer goeth out.
9:47And if thine eye cause thee to offende, plucke it out: it is better for thee to goe into the kingdome of God with one eye, then hauing two eyes, to be cast into hell fire,
9:48Where their worme dyeth not, and the fire neuer goeth out.
9:49For euery man shalbe salted with fire: and euery sacrifice shalbe salted with salt.
9:50Salt is good: but if the salt be vnsauerie, wherewith shall it be seasoned? haue salt in your selues, and haue peace one with another.

9:1And he sayde vnto them: Verely I saye vnto you: There be some of the that stonde here which shall not taste of deeth tyll they have sene the kyngdome of God come wt power.
9:2And after .vi. dayes Iesus toke Peter Iames and Iohn and leede them vp into an hye mountayne out of ye waye alone and he was transfigured before them.
9:3And his rayment dyd shyne and was made very whyte even as snowe: so whyte as noo fuller can make apon the erth.
9:4And ther apered vnto them Helyas with Moses: and they talked with Iesu.
9:5And Peter answered and sayde to Iesu: Master here is good beinge for vs let vs make .iii. tabernacles one for the one for Moses and one for Helyas.
9:6And yet he wist not what he sayde: for they were afrayde.
9:7And ther was a cloude that shaddowed the. And a voyce came out of the cloude sayinge: This is my dere sonne here him.
9:8And sodenly they loked rounde aboute them and sawe no man more then Iesus only wt the.
9:9And as they came doune from the hyll he charged the that they shuld tell no ma what they had sene tyll the sonne of man were rysen fro deeth agayne.
9:10And they kepte that sayinge with them and demaunded one of a nother what yt rysinge from deeth agayne shuld meane?
9:11And they axed him sayinge: why then saye ye scribe that Helyas muste fyrste come?
9:12He answered and sayde vnto them: Helyas verelye shall fyrst come and restore all thinges. And also ye sonne of ma as it is wrytte shall suffre many thinges and shall be set at nought.
9:13Moreouer I saye vnto you that Helyas is come and they have done vnto him whatsoever pleased them as it is wrytten of him.
9:14And he came to his disciples and sawe moche people aboute them and the scribes disputinge with them.
9:15And streyght waye all the people when they behelde him were amased and ran to him and saluted him.
9:16And he sayde vnto the Scribes: what dispute ye with them?
9:17And one of the copanye answered and sayde: Master I have brought my sonne vnto the which hath a dome spirite.
9:18And whensoever he taketh him he teareth him and he fometh and gnassheth with his tethe and pyneth awaye. And I spake to thy disciples that they shuld caste him out and they coulde not.
9:19He answered him and sayd: O generacion wt out faith how longe shall I be with you? How longe shall I suffre you? Bringe him vnto me.
9:20And they brought him vnto him. And assone as ye sprete sawe him he tare him. And he fell doune on the grounde walowinge and fomynge.
9:21And he axed his father: how longe is it a goo sens this hath happened him? And he sayde of a chylde:
9:22and ofte tymes casteth him into the fyre and also into the water to destroye him. But yf thou canste do eny thinge have mercy on vs and helpe vs.
9:23And Iesus sayde vnto him: ye yf thou couldest beleve all thinges are possible to him yt belevith.
9:24And streygth waye the father of the chylde cryed with teares sayinge: Lorde I beleve helpe myne vnbelefe.
9:25When Iesus sawe that the people came runnynge togedder vnto him he rebuked the foule sprete sayinge vnto him: Thou domme and deffe sprete I charge the come out of him and entre no more into him.
9:26And the sprete cryed and rent him sore and came out: And he was as one that had bene deed in so moche yt many sayde he is deed.
9:27But Iesus caught his honde and lyfte him vp: and he roose.
9:28And when he was come into the housse his disciples axed him secretly: why coulde not we caste him out?
9:29And he sayde vnto them: this kynde can by no nother meanes come forth but by prayer and fastynge.
9:30And they departed thens and toke their iorney thorow Galile and he wolde not that eny man shuld have knowen it.
9:31For he taught his disciples and sayde vnto them: The sonne of man shalbe delyvered into ye hondes of men and they shall kyll him and after that he is kylled he shall aryse agayne the thryd daye.
9:32But they wiste not what that sayinge meat and were affrayed to axe him.
9:33And he came to Capernaum. And when he was come to housse he axed the: what was it that ye disputed bytwene you by the waye?
9:34And they helde their peace: for by the waye they reasoned amonge the selves who shuld be the chefest.
9:35And he sate doune and called the twelve vnto him and sayd to them: yf eny man desyre to be fyrst the same shalbe last of all and servaunt vnto all.
9:36And he toke a chylde and set him in ye middes of them and toke him in his armes and sayde vnto them.
9:37Whosoever receave eny soche a chylde in my name receaveth me. And whosoever receaveth me receaveth not me but him that sent me.
9:38Iohn answered him sayinge: Master we sawe one castynge out devyls in thy name which foloweth not vs and we forbade him because he foloweth vs not.
9:39But Iesus sayde forbid him not. For ther is no ma that shall do a miracle in my name that can lightlyge speake evyll of me.
9:40Whosoever is not agaynste you is on youre parte.
9:41And whosoever shall geve you a cuppe of water to drinke for my names sake because ye belonge to Christe verely I saye vnto you he shall not loose his rewarde.
9:42And whosoever shall offende one of these lytelons yt beleve in me it were better for him yt a mylstone were hanged aboute his necke and yt he he were cast into ye see:
9:43wherfore yf thy hande offende ye cut him of. It is better for ye to entre into lyffe maymed then havynge two hondes goo into hell into fire yt never shalbe quenched
9:44where there worme dyeth not and the fyre never goeth oute.
9:45Lykewyse yf thy fote offende the cut him of. For it is better for the to goo halt into lyfe then havynge two fete to be cast into hell into fyre that never shalbe quenched:
9:46where there worme dyeth not and the fyre never goeth oute.
9:47Even so yf thyne eye offende the plucke him oute. It is better for the to goo into the kyngdom of god with one eye then havynge two eyes to be caste into hell fyre:
9:48where there worme dyeth not and the fyre never goeth oute.
9:49Every man therfore shalbe salted wt fyre: And every sacrifise shalbe seasoned with salt.
9:50Salt is good. But yf ye salt be vnsavery: what shall ye salte therwith? Se yt ye have salt in youre selves: and have peace amonge youre selves one with another.
