Mark - Chapter: 9

>
9:1And he sayd vnto them: Verely I saye vnto you: There be some of them that stande here, whiche shall not taste of death tyll they haue sene the kyngedom of God come wyth power.
9:2And after .vi. dayes Iesus toke Peter, Iames and Iohan, and leade them vp into an hye mountayne oute of the waye alone & he was transfigured before them.
9:3And hys rayment did shyne, and was made very whyte, euen as snowe: so whyte as no fuller can make vpon the earth.
9:4And there apeared vnto them Helyas with Moyses, & they talke with Iesu.
9:5And Peter aunswered and sayde to Iesu: Master here is a good beyng for vs, let vs make thre tabernacles, one for the, one for Moyses, and an other for Helyas.
9:6And yet he wyste not what he sayde, for they were afrayde.
9:7And there was a cloude that shadowed them. And a voyce came out of the cloud saying: This is my deare sonne, heare hym.
9:8And sodenly, they loked rounde aboute them, and sawe no man more then Iesus only with them.
9:9And as they came doune from the hyll, he charged theym that they shoulde tell no man what they had sene, tyl the sonne of man were rysen from death agayne.
9:10And they kepte the saying with them, and demaunded one of another, what that rising from death agayn should meane?
9:11And they axed him sayinge: Why then saye the Scribes that Helyas must firste come
9:12He aunswered and sayde vnto them: Helias verely shal first come and restore all thinges. And also the sonne of man as it is written, shall suffer many thynges, and shalbe set at nought.
9:13Moreouer I saye vnto you that Helyas is come, and they haue done vnto hym whatsoeuer pleased theym, as it is written of hym.
9:14And he came to hys disciples, & saw muche people about them, and the Scribes disputing with them.
9:15And strayght waye all the people when they behelde hym, were amased, & ranne to hym, and saluted hym.
9:16And he sayde vnto the Scribes: what dispute ye with them?
9:17And one of the company aunswered & said: Master, I haue broughte my sonne vnto the which hath a domme spirite.
9:18And whensoeuer he taketh hym, he teareth hym, and he fometh and gnasheth with hys tethe, & pyneth away. And I spake to thy disciples that they should caste him out, and they coulde not.
9:19He aunswered him and sayd: O generation without fayth, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I suffer you? Brynge hym vnto me.
9:20And they broughte hym vnto him. And assone as the spirite saw him, he tare him. And he fell doune on the grounde, walowing and fomynge.
9:21And he axed his father: howe long is it ago, sence this hath happened him? And he sayde, of a chylde:
9:22& ofte times casteth him into the fyre, and also into the water too destroye him. But if thou canste do anything, haue mercy on vs, and helpe vs.
9:23And Iesus sayd vnto him: yea, if thou couldest beleue, al thinges are possible to him that beleueth.
9:24And strayght way the father of the chylde cryed with teares saying: Lorde I beleue, helpe myne vnbelefe.
9:25When Iesus sawe that the people came runnyng together vnto him, he rebuked the foule spirit, saying vnto him: Thou domme & deaf spirite, I charge the come out of him, & enter no more into him.
9:26And the spirit cryed & rent him sore, and came out. And he was as one that had bene dead, in so much that many sayd, he is dead.
9:27But Iesus caught his hande and lyft him vp: and he rose.
9:28And when he was come into the house, his disciples axed him secretly why could not we cast him out?
9:29And he sayed vnto them: this kynde can by no nother meanes come forth but by prayer and fastinge.
9:30And they departed thence, and toke theyr iorney through Galile, and he would not that any man should haue knowen it.
9:31For he taught his disciples, and sayde vnto them: the sonne of man shalbe deliuered into the handes of men, and they shall kyll hym, and after that he is kylled he shall ryse agayne the thyrde daye.
9:32But they wiste not what that saying meante, and were afrayed to axe hym.
9:33And he came to Capernaum. And when he was come into an house, he axed theym: what was it that ye disputed betwene you by the waye?
9:34And they helde theyr peace: for by the waye they reasoned among them selues, who should be the chiefest.
9:35And he sate doune and called the twelue vnto hym, and sayde vnto them: if any man desire to be first, the same shal be last of all, & seruaunt vnto all.
9:36And he toke a chylde, & set him in the middes of them: & toke hym in his armes and sayde vnto them:
9:37Whosoeuer receyueth any such a chyld in my name receyueth me. And whosoeuer receyueth me, receyueth not me, but him that sent me.
9:38Ihon aunswered him saying: Maister, we sawe one castinge out deuels in thy name whiche foloweth not vs and we forbade hym, because he foloweth vs not.
9:39But Iesus sayd forbid him not. For there is no man that shall do a miracle in my name, that can lightly speake euill of me.
9:40Whosoeuer is not agaynste you, is on your part.
9:41And whosoeuer shall geue you a cuppe of water to drinke for my names sake, because ye belonge to Christe, verelye I saye vnto you, he shall not lowse his rewarde.
9:42And whosoeuer shall offende one of these litelons, that beleue in me, it were better for him that a milstone were hanged aboute hys necke, & that he were caste into the sea.
9:43Wherfore if thy hande offende the, cut hym of. It is better for the, to enter into lyfe maymed, then hauing two handes, go into hel, into fyre that neuer shal be quenched,
9:44where their worme dyeth not, and the fyre neuer goeth out.
9:45Likekewise if thy fote offende the, cut him of. For it is better for the to go halt into life, then hauinge two fete to be caste into hell, into fyre that neuer shalbe quenched:
9:46where their worme dyeth not, and the fyre neuer goeth out.
9:47Euen so if thyne eye offende the, plucke him out. It is better for the to go into the kyngedome of God with one eye, then hauing two eies to be cast into hel fyre:
9:48where their worm dieth not, and the fyre neuer goeth out.
9:49Euery man therfore shalbe salted wyth fyre. And euery sacrifice shalbe seasoned with salt,
9:50Salt is good. But if the salt be vnsauery what shall ye sate therwith? Se that ye haue salt in your selues, & haue peace amonge your selues, one with another.

9:1And he saide vnto them, Verely I say vnto you, that there be some of them that stande here, which shall not taste of death till they haue seene the kingdome of God come with power.
9:2And sixe dayes after, Iesus taketh vnto him Peter, and Iames, and Iohn, and carieth them vp into an hie mountaine out of the way alone, and his shape was changed before them.
9:3And his rayment did shine, and was very white, as snowe, so white as no fuller can make vpon the earth.
9:4And there appeared vnto them Elias with Moses, and they were talking with Iesus.
9:5Then Peter answered, and said to Iesus, Master, it is good for vs to be here: let vs make also three tabernacles, one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias.
9:6Yet hee knewe not what he saide: for they were afraide.
9:7And there was a cloude that shadowed them, and a voyce came out of the cloude, saying, This is my beloued Sonne: heare him.
9:8And suddenly they looked roud about, and sawe no more any man saue Iesus only with them.
9:9And as they came downe from the mountaine, he charged them, that they should tell no man what they had seene, saue when the Sonne of man were risen from the dead againe.
9:10So they kept that matter to themselues, and demaunded one of another, what the rising from the dead againe should meane?
9:11Also they asked him, saying, Why say the Scribes, that Elias must first come?
9:12And he answered, and said vnto them, Elias verely shall first come, and restore all things: and as it is written of the Sonne of man, hee must suffer many things, and be set at nought.
9:13But I say vnto you, that Elias is come, (and they haue done vnto him whatsoeuer they would) as it is written of him.
9:14And when he came to his disciples, he saw a great multitude about them, and the Scribes disputing with them.
9:15And straightway all the people, when they behelde him, were amased, and ranne to him, and saluted him.
9:16Then hee asked the Scribes, What dispute you among your selues?
9:17And one of the companie answered, and said, Master, I haue brought my sonne vnto thee, which hath a dumme spirit:
9:18And wheresoeuer he taketh him, he teareth him, and he fometh, and gnasheth his teeth, and pineth away: and I spake to thy disciples, that they should cast him out, and they could not.
9:19Then he answered him, and said, O faithlesse generation, how long now shall I be with you! how long now shall I suffer you! Bring him vnto me.
9:20So they brought him vnto him: and assoone as the spirit sawe him, hee tare him, and hee fell downe on the ground walowing and foming.
9:21Then he asked his father, How long time is it since he hath bin thus? And he said, Of a childe.
9:22And oft times he casteth him into the fire, and into the water to destroy him: but if thou canst do any thing, helpe vs, and haue compassion vpon vs.
9:23And Iesus said vnto him, If thou canst beleeue it, al things are possible to him that beleeueth.
9:24And straightway the father of the childe crying with teares, saide, Lord, I beleeue: helpe my vnbeliefe.
9:25When Iesus saw that the people came running together, he rebuked the vncleane spirit, saying vnto him, Thou domme and deafe spirit, I charge thee, come out of him, and enter no more into him.
9:26Then the spirit cried, and rent him sore, and came out, and he was as one dead, in so much that many said, He is dead.
9:27But Iesus tooke his hande, and lift him vp, and he arose.
9:28And when hee was come into the house, his disciples asked him secretly, Why could not we cast him out?
9:29And he saide vnto them, This kinde can by no other meanes come foorth, but by prayer and fasting.
9:30And they departed thence, and went together through Galile, and hee would not that any should haue knowen it.
9:31For he taught his disciples, and saide vnto them, The Sonne of man shalbe deliuered into the handes of men, and they shall kill him, but after that he is killed, he shall rise againe the third day.
9:32But they vnderstoode not that saying, and were afraide to aske him.
9:33After, he came to Capernaum: and when he was in the house, he asked them, What was it that ye disputed among you by the way?
9:34And they helde their peace: for by the way they reasoned among themselues, who should bee the chiefest.
9:35And he sate downe, and called the twelue, and said to them, If any man desire to be first, the same shalbe last of all, and seruant vnto all.
9:36And he tooke a litle childe, and set him in the middes of them, and tooke him in his armes, and sayd vnto them,
9:37Whosoeuer shall receiue one of such litle children in my Name, receiueth me: and whosoeuer receiueth mee, receiueth not me, but him that sent me.
9:38Then Iohn answered him, saying, Master, we sawe one casting out deuils by thy Name, which followeth not vs, and we forbade him, because he followeth vs not.
9:39But Iesus sayd, Forbid him not: for there is no man that can doe a miracle by my Name, that can lightly speake euill of me.
9:40For whosoeuer is not against vs, is on our part.
9:41And whosoeuer shall giue you a cup of water to drinke for my Names sake, because ye belong to Christ, verely I say vnto you, he shall not lose his rewarde.
9:42And whosoeuer shall offend one of these litle ones, that beleeue in me, it were better for him rather, that a milstone were hanged about his necke, and that he were cast into the sea.
9:43Wherefore, if thine hand cause thee to offend, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life, maimed, then hauing two hands, to goe into hell, into the fire that neuer shalbe quenched,
9:44Where their worme dyeth not, and the fire neuer goeth out.
9:45Likewise, if thy foote cause thee to offend, cut it off: it is better for thee to go halt into life, then hauing two feete, to be cast into hell, into the fire that neuer shalbe quenched,
9:46Where their worme dyeth not, and the fire neuer goeth out.
9:47And if thine eye cause thee to offende, plucke it out: it is better for thee to goe into the kingdome of God with one eye, then hauing two eyes, to be cast into hell fire,
9:48Where their worme dyeth not, and the fire neuer goeth out.
9:49For euery man shalbe salted with fire: and euery sacrifice shalbe salted with salt.
9:50Salt is good: but if the salt be vnsauerie, wherewith shall it be seasoned? haue salt in your selues, and haue peace one with another.

9:1And hee said vnto them, Uerely I say vnto you, that there be some of them that stand here, which shal not taste of death, till they haue seene the kingdome of God come with power.
9:2And after sixe dayes, Iesus taketh with him Peter, and Iames, and Iohn, and leadeth them vp into an high mountaine apart by themselues: and he was transfigured before them.
9:3And his raiment became shining, exceeding white as snow: so as no Fuller on earth can white them.
9:4And there appeared vnto them Elias with Moses: and they were talking with Iesus.

9:6For he wist not what to say, for they were sore afraid.
9:7And there was a cloud that ouershadowed them: and a voyce came out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloued Sonne: heare him.
9:8And suddenly when they had looked round about, they saw no man any more, saue Iesus only with themselues.

9:14And when he came to his disciples, he saw a great multitude about them, and the Scribes questioning with them.
9:15And straightway all the people, when they beheld him, were greatly amazed, & running to him, saluted him.
9:16And he asked the Scribes, What question ye with them?
9:17And one of the multitude answered, and said, Master, I haue broughe vnto thee my son, which hath a dumbe spirit:
9:18And wheresoeuer he taketh him, he teareth him, & he fometh, and gnasheth with his teeth, and pineth away: and I spake to thy disciples, that they should cast him out, and they could not.
9:19He answereth him, and saith, O faithlesse generation, how long shall I be with you, how long shall I suffer you? Bring him vnto me.
9:20And they brought him vnto him: and when he saw him, straightway the spirit tare him, and he fel on the ground, and wallowed, foming.
9:21And he asked his father, Howe long is it agoe since this came vnto him? And he said, Of a child.
9:22And oft times it hath cast him into the fire, and into the waters to destroy him: but if thou canst doe any thing, haue compassion on vs, and helpe vs.
9:23Iesus said vnto him, If thou canst beleeue, all things are possible to him that beleeueth.

9:26And the spirit cried, and rent him sore, and came out of him, and he was as one dead, insomuch that many said, He is dead.
9:27But Iesus tooke him by the hand, and lifted him vp, and he arose.
9:28And when he was come into the house, his disciples asked him priuately, Why could not we cast him out?
9:29And hee said vnto them, This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer, and fasting.
9:30And they departed thence, and passed through Galilee, and he would not that any man should know it.
9:31For he taught his disciples, and said vnto them, The sonne of man is deliuered into the hands of men, and they shall kill him, and after that he is killed, he shall rise the third day.
9:32But they vnderstood not that saying, and were afraid to aske him.
9:33And he came to Capernaum; and being in the house, he asked them, What was it that yee disputed among your selues by the way?
9:34But they held their peace: For by the way they had disputed among themselues, who should be the greatest.
9:35And he sate downe, and called the twelue, and saith vnto them, If any man desire to be first, the same shall be last of all, and seruant of all.
9:36And he tooke a child, and set him in the midst of them: & when he had taken him in his arms, he said vnto them,

9:49For euery one shall be salted with fire, and euery sacrifice shall be salted with salt.
9:50Salt is good: but if the salt haue lost his saltnesse, wherewith will you season it? Haue salt in your selues, and haue peace one with another.
