Mark - Chapter: 10

>
10:1And he rose from thence, & wente into the coostes of Iury, through the region that is beyond Iordan. And the people resorted vnto him a fresh, and as he was wont he taught them agayn.
10:2And the phariseis came & axed him a question: whether it were lawfull for a man to put away his wife: to proue him.
10:3And he aunswered and sayd vnto them: What did Moyses bid you do?
10:4And they sayde: Moyses suffred to write a testimoniall of deuorcement, and to put her awaye.
10:5And Iesus aunswered and sayde vnto them: For the hardnes of your hertes he wrote this precept vnto you.
10:6But at the first creacion God made them man and woman.
10:7And for this thinges seke shall man leaue his father and mother, & byde by hys wyfe,
10:8and they twayne shall be one fleshe. So then are they nowe not twayne but one fleshe.
10:9Therfore what God hath coupled, let not man separate:
10:10And in the house hys discyples axed hym agayne of the matter.
10:11And he sayed vnto them: Whosoeuer putteth awaye hys wyfe and maryeth an other breaketh wedlocke to her ward
10:12And yf a woman forsake her husbande & be maryed to an other she commytteth aduoutrye.
10:13And they brought chyldren to hym, that he should touche them. And hys disciples rebuked those that brought them.
10:14When Iesus sawe that he was displeased, and sayed to them. Suffer the chyldren to come vnto me, and forbyd them not. For of suche is the kyngdom of God.
10:15Verely I saye vnto you: whosoeuer shall not receyue the kyngedome of God, as a chylde, he shall not enter therein.
10:16And he toke them vp in hys armes, and put hys handes vpon them and blessed them.
10:17And when he was come into the way, there came one runnyng and kneled to him, & axed hym: good mayster, what shall I do, that I maye enheret eternall lyfe?
10:18Iesus sayed vnto hym: why callest thou me good? There is none good but one, which is God.
10:19Thou knowest the commaundementes: breake not matrimonye: kyll not: steale not: beare not false witnes: defraude no man: honour thy father & mother.
10:20He aunswered to hym: mayster all these I haue obserued from my youth.
10:21Iesus behelde hym, and had a fauoure to him: and sayed vnto hym: one thynge is lackynge vnto the. Go and sell all that thou haste, and geue to the poore, and thou shalte haue treasure in heauen, and come and folowe me, and take vp thy crosse.
10:22But he was discomforted with that saying, and went awaye mournynge, for he had greate possessyons.
10:23And Iesus loked rounde about, and sayed vnto hys discyples: what an harde thynge is it for them that haue rychesse, to enter into the kyngedome of God.
10:24And hys disciples were astonyed at his wordes. But Iesus answered agayne, and sayed vnto them: chyldren howe harde is it for them, that truste in rychesse, to enter into the kyngdome of God.
10:25It is easyer for a camell to go thorowe the eye of a nedle, then for a ryche man to enter into the kyngdom of God.
10:26And they were astonyed out of measure, sayinge betwene them selues: who then can be saued
10:27Iesus loked vpon them & sayde: with men it is vnpossyble, but not with God, for with God all thynges are possyble.
10:28And Peter beganne to saye vnto hym: Lo, we haue forsaken all, and haue folowed the.
10:29Iesus aunswered and sayed: Verely I say vnto you: there is no man that forsaketh house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wyfe, other chyldren, or landes for my sake & the Gospels,
10:30which shall not receyue an hundred folde now in this lyfe: houses, & brethren and systers, and mothers, and chyldren, and landes wyth persecucyons, and in the worlde to come eternal lyfe.
10:31Many that are first, shal be last, and the laste shall be fyrste.
10:32And they were in the waye goynge vnto Hierusalem. And Iesus wente before them: and they were amased, and as they folowed, they were afrayed. And Iesus toke the twelue agayne, and began to tell them what thynges shoulde happen vnto hym.
10:33Beholde, we go vp to Hierusalem and the sonne of man shalbe delyuered into the handes of the hye priestes, and vnto the Scribes: and they shall condempne hym to death, and shall delyuer hym to the gentyls:
10:34and they shal mocke him, & schourge him and spyte vpon hym, and kyl hym. And the thyrd daye he shall ryse agayne.
10:35And then Iames & Iohn the sons of zebede came vnto hym, sayinge: Mayster, we would that thou shouldest do for vs whatsoeuer we desyre.
10:36He sayed vnto them: what woulde ye I shoulde do vnto you?
10:37They sayed to hym: graunte vnto vs that we may sitte one on thy ryght hande, and the other on thy lifte hande, in thy glory.
10:38But Iesus sayed vnto them: Ye wote not what ye axe. Can ye drinke of the cuppe that I shall drinke of, and be baptysed in the baptime that I shalbe baptised in?
10:39And they sayde vnto hym: that we can. Iesus sayde vnto them: ye shal drinke of the cup that I shall drinke of, and be baptysed with the baptysme that I shalbe baptysed in:
10:40but to sit on my ryght hande, and on my lift hande is not myne to geue, but to them for whom it is prepared.
10:41And when the .x. hearde that they began to dysdayne at Iames and Iohn.
10:42But Iesus called them vnto hym, and sayde to them: Ye knowe that they whiche seme to beare rule amonge the gentyls, raygne as lordes ouer them. And they that be great among them, exercyse authoritie ouer them.
10:43So shall it not be among you, but whosoeuer of you wil be great among you shalbe your minister.
10:44And whosoeuer wilbe chiefe, shalbe seruaunt vnto al.
10:45For euen the sonne of man came not to be mynystred vnto, but to minister & to geue hys lyfe for the redempcyon of many.
10:46And they came to Hierico: and as he went out of Hierico with hys discyples, and a great numbre of people, Barthymeus the sonne of Chimeus whiche was blynde, sate by the hye wayes syde begginge.
10:47And when he hearde, that it was Iesus of Nazareth, he beganne to crye and to saye: Iesus the sonne of Dauid, haue mercye on me.
10:48And many rebuked him that he shoulde holde hys peace. But he cryed the more a great deale: Thou sonne of Dauid haue mercye on me.
10:49And Iesus stode styl, and commaunded hym to be called. And they called the blinde, sayinge vnto hym: Be of good comforte: ryse, he calleth the.
10:50And he threwe awaye hys clooke, and rose, and came to Iesus.
10:51And Iesus aunswered and sayde vnto hym: What wylte thou that I do vnto the. The blynde sayed vnto hym: Mayster that I myght se.
10:52Iesus sayde vnto hym: Go thy waye, thy faith hath saued the. And by and by he receyued hys sight, and folowed Iesus in the waye.

10:1And he arose from thence, and went into the coastes of Iudea by the farre side of Iordan, and the people resorted vnto him againe, and as he was wont, he taught them againe.
10:2Then the Pharises came and asked him, if it were lawfull for a man to put away his wife, and tempted him.
10:3And he answered, and sayde vnto them, What did Moses commaund you?
10:4And they sayd, Moses suffered to write a bill of diuorcement, and to put her away.
10:5Then Iesus answered, and sayd vnto them, For the hardnesse of your heart he wrote this precept vnto you.
10:6But at the beginning of the creation God made them male and female:
10:7For this cause shall man leaue his father and mother, and cleaue vnto his wife.
10:8And they twaine shalbe one flesh: so that they are no more twaine, but one flesh.
10:9Therefore, what God hath coupled together, let not man separate.
10:10And in the house his disciples asked him againe of that matter.
10:11And he sayd vnto them, Whosoeuer shall put away his wife and marrie another, committeth adulterie against her.
10:12And if a woman put away her husband, and be married to another, she committeth adulterie.
10:13Then they brought litle children to him, that he should touch them, and his disciples rebuked those that brought them.
10:14But when Iesus sawe it, he was displeased, and said to them, Suffer the litle children to come vnto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdome of God.
10:15Verely I say vnto you, Whosoeuer shall not receiue the kingdome of God as a litle childe, he shall not enter therein.
10:16And he tooke them vp in his armes, and put his hands vpon them, and blessed them.
10:17And when hee was gone out on the way, there came one running, and kneeled to him, and asked him, Good Master, what shall I doe, that I may possesse eternall life?
10:18Iesus sayde to him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, euen God.
10:19Thou knowest the comandements, Thou shalt not commit adulterie. Thou shalt not kill. Thou shalt not steale. Thou shalt not beare false witnesse. Thou shalt hurt no man. Honour thy father and mother.
10:20Then he answered, and said to him, Master, all these things I haue obserued from my youth.
10:21And Iesus looked vpon him, and loued him, and sayde vnto him, One thing is lacking vnto thee. Go and sell all that thou hast, and giue to the poore, and thou shalt haue treasure in heauen, and come, follow me, and take vp the crosse.
10:22But hee was sad at that saying, and went away sorowfull: for he had great possessions.
10:23And Iesus looked round about, and sayd vnto his disciples, Howe hardly doe they that haue riches, enter into the kingdome of God!
10:24And his disciples were afraide at his words. But Iesus answered againe, and sayd vnto them, Children, how hard is it for them that trust in riches, to enter into the kingdome of God!
10:25It is easier for a camel to goe through the eye of a needle, then for a riche man to enter into the kingdome of God.
10:26And they were much more astonied, saying with themselues, Who then can be saued?
10:27But Iesus looked vpon them, and sayd, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.
10:28Then Peter began to say vnto him, Loe, we haue forsaken all, and haue folowed thee.
10:29Iesus answered, and sayd, Verely I say vnto you, there is no man that hath forsaken house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands for my sake and the Gospels,
10:30But he shall receiue an hundred folde, now at this present, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands with persecutions, and in the world to come, eternall life.
10:31But many that are first, shall be last, and the last, first.
10:32And they were in the way going vp to Hierusalem, and Iesus went before them and they were troubled, and as they followed, they were afraide, and Iesus tooke the twelue againe, and began to tell them what things should come vnto him,
10:33Saying, Beholde, we goe vp to Hierusalem, and the Sonne of man shall be deliuered vnto the hie Priests, and to the Scribes, and they shall condemne him to death, and shall deliuer him to the Gentiles.
10:34And they shall mocke him, and scourge him, and spit vpon him, and kill him: but the third day he shall rise againe.
10:35Then Iames and Iohn the sonnes of Zebedeus came vnto him, saying, Master, we would that thou shouldest doe for vs that we desire.
10:36And he sayd vnto them, What would ye I should doe for you?
10:37And they said to him, Graunt vnto vs, that we may sit, one at thy right hand, and the other at thy left hand in thy glory.
10:38But Iesus sayd vnto them, Ye knowe not what ye aske. Can ye drinke of the cup that I shall drinke of, and be baptized with the baptisme that I shall be baptized with?
10:39And they said vnto him, We can. But Iesus sayd vnto them, Ye shall drinke in deede of the cup that I shall drinke of, and be baptized with the baptisme wherewith I shalbe baptized:
10:40But to sit at my right hand, and at my left, is not mine to giue, but it shalbe giuen to them for whome it is prepared.
10:41And when the ten heard that, they began to disdaine at Iames and Iohn.
10:42But Iesus called them vnto him, and sayd to them, Ye know that they which are princes among the Gentiles, haue domination ouer them, and they that be great among them, exercise authoritie ouer them.
10:43But it shall not be so among you: but whosoeuer will be great among you, shall be your seruant.
10:44And whosoeuer will be chiefe of you, shall be the seruant of all.
10:45For euen the Sonne of man came not to be serued, but to serue, and to giue his life for the raunsome of many.
10:46Then they came to Iericho: and as he went out of Iericho with his disciples, and a great multitude, Bartimeus the sonne of Timeus, a blinde man, sate by the wayes side, begging.
10:47And when hee heard that it was Iesus of Nazareth, he began to crye, and to say, Iesus the Sonne of Dauid, haue mercy on me.
10:48And many rebuked him, because he should holde his peace: but hee cryed much more, O Sonne of Dauid, haue mercy on me.
10:49Then Iesus stood still, and commanded him to be called: and they called the blind, saying vnto him, Be of good comfort: arise, he calleth thee.
10:50So he threwe away his cloke, and rose, and came to Iesus.
10:51And Iesus answered, and said vnto him, What wilt thou that I doe vnto thee? And the blinde sayd vnto him, Lord, that I may receiue sight.
10:52Then Iesus sayde vnto him, Goe thy way: thy fayth hath saued thee. And by and by, he receiued his sight, and folowed Iesus in the way.

10:1And he arose from thence, and cometh into the coasts of Judaea by the farther side of Jordan: and the people resort unto him again; and, as he was wont, he taught them again.
10:2And the Pharisees came to him, and asked him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife? tempting him.
10:3And he answered and said unto them, What did Moses command you?
10:4And they said, Moses suffered to write a bill of divorcement, and to put her away.
10:5And Jesus answered and said unto them, For the hardness of your heart he wrote you this precept.
10:6But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female.
10:7For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife;
10:8And they twain shall be one flesh: so then they are no more twain, but one flesh.
10:9What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.
10:10And in the house his disciples asked him again of the same matter.
10:11And he saith unto them, Whosoever shall put away his wife, and marry another, committeth adultery against her.
10:12And if a woman shall put away her husband, and be married to another, she committeth adultery.
10:13And they brought young children to him, that he should touch them: and his disciples rebuked those that brought them.
10:14But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.
10:15Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein.
10:16And he took them up in his arms, put his hands upon them, and blessed them.
10:17And when he was gone forth into the way, there came one running, and kneeled to him, and asked him, Good Master, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life?
10:18And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God.
10:19Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Defraud not, Honour thy father and mother.
10:20And he answered and said unto him, Master, all these have I observed from my youth.
10:21Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me.
10:22And he was sad at that saying, and went away grieved: for he had great possessions.
10:23And Jesus looked round about, and saith unto his disciples, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God!
10:24And the disciples were astonished at his words. But Jesus answereth again, and saith unto them, Children, how hard is it for them that trust in riches to enter into the kingdom of God!
10:25It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.
10:26And they were astonished out of measure, saying among themselves, Who then can be saved?
10:27And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.
10:28Then Peter began to say unto him, Lo, we have left all, and have followed thee.
10:29And Jesus answered and said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel's,
10:30But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life.
10:31But many that are first shall be last; and the last first.
10:32And they were in the way going up to Jerusalem; and Jesus went before them: and they were amazed; and as they followed, they were afraid. And he took again the twelve, and began to tell them what things should happen unto him,
10:33Saying, Behold, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of man shall be delivered unto the chief priests, and unto the scribes; and they shall condemn him to death, and shall deliver him to the Gentiles:
10:34And they shall mock him, and shall scourge him, and shall spit upon him, and shall kill him: and the third day he shall rise again.
10:35And James and John, the sons of Zebedee, come unto him, saying, Master, we would that thou shouldest do for us whatsoever we shall desire.
10:36And he said unto them, What would ye that I should do for you?
10:37They said unto him, Grant unto us that we may sit, one on thy right hand, and the other on thy left hand, in thy glory.
10:38But Jesus said unto them, Ye know not what ye ask: can ye drink of the cup that I drink of? and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with?
10:39And they said unto him, We can. And Jesus said unto them, Ye shall indeed drink of the cup that I drink of; and with the baptism that I am baptized withal shall ye be baptized:
10:40But to sit on my right hand and on my left hand is not mine to give; but it shall be given to them for whom it is prepared.
10:41And when the ten heard it, they began to be much displeased with James and John.
10:42But Jesus called them to him, and saith unto them, Ye know that they which are accounted to rule over the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and their great ones exercise authority upon them.
10:43But so shall it not be among you: but whosoever will be great among you, shall be your minister:
10:44And whosoever of you will be the chiefest, shall be servant of all.
10:45For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.
10:46And they came to Jericho: and as he went out of Jericho with his disciples and a great number of people, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the highway side begging.
10:47And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out, and say, Jesus, thou son of David, have mercy on me.
10:48And many charged him that he should hold his peace: but he cried the more a great deal, Thou son of David, have mercy on me.
10:49And Jesus stood still, and commanded him to be called. And they call the blind man, saying unto him, Be of good comfort, rise; he calleth thee.
10:50And he, casting away his garment, rose, and came to Jesus.
10:51And Jesus answered and said unto him, What wilt thou that I should do unto thee? The blind man said unto him, Lord, that I might receive my sight.
10:52And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole. And immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way.
