Mark - Chapter: 12

>
12:1And hee began to speake vnto them by parables. A certaine man planted a vineyard, and set an hedge about it, and digged a place for the wine fat, and built a towre, and let it out to husbandmen, and went into a farre countrey.
12:2And at the season, he sent to the husbandmen a seruant, that he might receiue from the husbandmen of the fruite of the vineyard.
12:3And they caught him, and beat him, and sent him away emptie.
12:4And againe, hee sent vnto them another seruant; and at him they cast stones, and wounded him in the head, and sent him away shamefully handled.
12:5And againe, he sent another, and him they killed: and many others, beating some, and killing some.
12:6Hauing yet therefore one sonne his welbeloued, he sent him also last vnto them, saying, They will reuerence my sonne.
12:7But those husbandmen said amongst themselues, This is the heire, come, let vs kill him, and the inheritance shall be ours.
12:8And they tooke him, and killed him, and cast him out of the vineyard.
12:9What shall therefore the Lord of the vineyard doe? He will come and destroy the husbandmen, and will giue the vineyard vnto others.
12:10And haue ye not read this Scripture? The stone which the builders reiected, is become the head of the corner:
12:11This was the Lords doing, and it is maruellous in our eies.
12:12And they sought to lay hold on him, but feared the people, for they knew that he had spoken the parable against them: and they left him, and went their way.
12:13And they send vnto him certaine of the Pharises, and of the Herodians, to catch him in his words.
12:14And when they were come, they say vnto him, Master, we know that thou art true, and carest for no man: for thou regardest not the person of men, but teachest the way of God in truth. Is it lawfull to giue tribute to Cesar, or not?
12:15Shall we giue, or shall we not giue? But he knowing their hypocrisie, said vnto them, Why tempt yee mee? Bring me a penny that I may see it.
12:16And they brought it: and he saith vnto them, Whose is this image and superscription? And they said vnto him, Cesars.
12:17And Iesus answering, said vnto them, Render to Cesar the things that are Cesars: and to God the things that are Gods. And they maruailed at him.
12:18Then come vnto him the Sadducees, which say there is no resurrection, and they asked him, saying,
12:19Master, Moses wrote vnto vs, If a mans brother die, and leaue his wife behind him, and leaue no children, that his brother should take his wife, and raise vp seed vnto his brother.
12:20Now there were seuen brethren: and the first tooke a wife, and dying left no seede.
12:21And the second tooke her, and died, neither left he any seed, and the third likewise.
12:22And the seuen had her, and left no seede: last of all the woman died also.
12:23In the resurrection therefore, when they shall rise, whose wife shall she be of them? for the seuen had her to wife.
12:24And Iesus answering, said vnto them, Doe ye not therefore erre, because yee know not the scriptures, neither the power of God?
12:25For when they shall rise from the dead, they neither marry, nor are giuen in marriage: but are as the Angels which are in heauen.
12:26And as touching the dead, that they rise: haue ye not read in the booke of Moses, how in the bush God spake vnto him, saying, I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isahac, and the God of Iacob?
12:27Hee is not the God of the dead, but the God of the liuing: yee therefore doe greatly erre.
12:28And one of the Scribes came, and hauing heard them reasoning together, and perceiuing that he had answered them well, asked him which is the first commandement of all.
12:29And Iesus answered him, The first of al the commandements is, Heare, O Israel, the Lord our God is one Lord:
12:30And thou shalt loue the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soule, and with all thy minde, and with all thy strength: This is the first commandement.
12:31And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt loue thy neighbour as thy selfe: there is none other commandement greater then these.
12:32And the Scribe said vnto him, Well master, thou hast said the truth: for there is one God, and there is none other but he.
12:33And to loue him with all the heart, and with all the vnderstanding, and with all the soule, and with all the strength, and to loue his neighbour as himselfe, is more then all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.
12:34And when Iesus saw that he answered discreetly, hee saide vnto him, Thou art not far from the kingdome of God. And no man after that durst aske him any question.
12:35And Iesus answered, and said, while hee taught in the Temple, How say the Scribes that Christ is the sonne of Dauid?
12:36For Dauid himselfe said by the holy Ghost, The Lord said to my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, til I make thine enemies thy footstoole.
12:37Dauid therefore himselfe calleth him Lord, and whence is hee then his sonne? And the common people heard him gladly.
12:38And he said vnto them in his doctrine, Beware of the Scribes, which loue to goe in long clothing, and loue salutations in the market places,
12:39And the chiefe seates in the Synagogues, and the vppermost roomes at feasts:
12:40Which deuoure widowes houses, and for a pretence make long prayers: These shall receiue greater damnation.
12:41And Iesus sate ouer against the treasurie, and beheld how the people cast money into the treasurie: and many that were rich, cast in much.
12:42And there came a certaine poore widow, and she threw in two mites, which make a farthing.
12:43And he called vnto him his disciples, and saith vnto them, Uerily I say vnto you, that this poore widow hath cast more in, then all they which haue cast into the treasurie.
12:44For all they did cast in of their aboundance: but she of her want, did cast in all that she had, euen all her liuing.

12:1And he began to speake vnto them in parables, A certaine man planted a vineyard, and copassed it with an hedge, and digged a pit for the winepresse, and built a tower in it, and let it out to husbandmen, and went into a strange countrey.
12:2And at the time, he sent to the husbandmen a seruant, that he might receiue of the husbandmen of the fruite of the vineyard.
12:3But they tooke him, and beat him, and sent him away emptie.
12:4And againe he sent vnto them another seruant, and at him they cast stones, and brake his head, and sent him away shamefully handled.
12:5And againe he sent another, and him they slew, and many other, beating some, and killing some.
12:6Yet had he one sonne, his deare beloued: him also he sent the last vnto them, saying, They will reuerence my sonne.
12:7But ye husbandmen said among themselues, This is the heire: come, let vs kill him, and the inheritance shalbe ours.
12:8So they tooke him, and killed him, and cast him out of the vineyard.
12:9What shall then the Lord of the vineyard doe? He will come and destroy these husbandmen, and giue the vineyard to others.
12:10Haue ye not read so much as this Scripture? The stone which the builders did refuse, is made the head of the corner.
12:11This was done of the Lord, and it is marueilous in our eyes.
12:12Then they went about to take him, but they feared the people: for they perceiued that he spake that parable against them: therefore they left him, and went their way.
12:13And they sent vnto him certaine of the Pharises, and of ye Herodians that they might take him in his talke.
12:14And when they came, they saide vnto him, Master, we know that thou art true, and carest for no man: for thou considerest not the person of men, but teachest the way of God truely, Is it lawfull to giue tribute to Cesar, or not?
12:15Should we giue it, or should we not giue it? but he knew their hypocrisie, and said vnto them, Why tempt ye me? Bring me a peny, that I may see it.
12:16So they brought it, and he said vnto them, Whose is this image and superscription? and they said vnto him, Cesars.
12:17Then Iesus answered, and saide vnto them, Giue to Cesar the things that are Cesars, and to God, those that are Gods: and they marueiled at him.
12:18Then came the Sadduces vnto him, (which say, there is no resurrection) and they asked him, saying,
12:19Master, Moses wrote vnto vs, If any mans brother die, and leaue his wife, and leaue no children, that his brother should take his wife, and rayse vp seede vnto his brother.
12:20There were seuen brethren, and the first tooke a wife, and when he died, left no issue.
12:21Then the seconde tooke her, and he died, neither did he yet leaue issue, and the third likewise:
12:22So those seuen had her, and left no yssue: last of all the wife died also.
12:23In the resurrection then, when they shall rise againe, whose wife shall she be of them? for seuen had her to wife.
12:24Then Iesus answered, and saide vnto them, Are ye not therefore deceiued, because ye knowe not the Scriptures, neither the power of God?
12:25For when they shall rise againe from the dead, neither men marry, nor wiues are married, but are as the Angels which are in heauen.
12:26And as touching the dead, that they shall rise againe, haue ye not read in the booke of Moses, howe in the bush God spake vnto him, saying, I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Iacob?
12:27God is not ye God of the dead, but the God of the liuing. Ye are therefore greatly deceiued.
12:28Then came one of the Scribes that had heard them disputing together, and perceiuing that he had answered them well, he asked him, Which is the first commandement of all?
12:29Iesus answered him, The first of all the commandements is, Heare, Israel, The Lord our God is the onely Lord.
12:30Thou shalt therefore loue the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soule, and with all thy minde, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandement.
12:31And the second is like, that is, Thou shalt loue thy neighbour as thy selfe. There is none other commandement greater then these.
12:32Then that Scribe said vnto him, Well, Master, thou hast saide the trueth, that there is one God, and that there is none but he,
12:33And to loue him with all the heart, and with all the vnderstanding, and with all the soule, and with all the strength, and to loue his neighbour as himselfe, is more then all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.
12:34Then when Iesus saw that he answered discreetely, he saide vnto him, Thou art not farre from the kingdome of God. And no man after that durst aske him any question.
12:35And Iesus answered and said teaching in the Temple, Howe say the Scribes that Christ is the sonne of Dauid?
12:36For Dauid himselfe said by ye holy Ghost, The Lord said to my Lord, Sit at my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footestoole.
12:37Then Dauid himselfe calleth him Lord: by what meanes is he then his sonne? and much people heard him gladly.
12:38Moreouer he saide vnto them in his doctrine, Beware of the Scribes which loue to goe in long robes, and loue salutations in the markets,
12:39And the chiefe seates in the Synagogues, and the first roumes at feastes,
12:40Which deuoure widowes houses, euen vnder a colour of long prayers. These shall receiue the greater damnation.
12:41And as Iesus sate ouer against the treasurie, he beheld how the people cast money into the treasurie, and many rich men cast in much.
12:42And there came a certaine poore widowe, and she threw in two mites, which make a quadrin.
12:43Then he called vnto him his disciples, and said vnto them, Verely I say vnto you, that this poore widowe hath cast more in, then all they which haue cast into the treasurie.
12:44For they all did cast in of their superfluitie: but she of her pouertie did cast in all that she had, euen all her liuing.

12:1And he beganne to speake vnto them by parables. A certayne man planted a vyneyarde, and compassed it aboute wt an hedge, and ordeined a wyne presse, and bylt a toure, and let it out to hyre vnto husbandmen, and went into a straunge countre.
12:2And when the tyme was come, he sent to the husbandmen a seruaunt, that he myght receaue of the husbandmen of the frute of the vyneyarde.
12:3And they caught hym, and bet hym, and sent hym awaye agayne emptye.
12:4And moreouer, he sent vnto them another seruaunt, and at hym they cast stones and brake hys heed, & sent him awaye agayne all to reuyled.
12:5And agayne, he sent another, and him they kylled: and many other, beatynge some, and kyllinge some.
12:6And so whan he had yet but one beloued sonne, he sent him also at the last vnto them, sayinge: they wyll feare my sonne.
12:7But the husbandmen sayd amongest them selues: this is the heyre: come let vs kyl him, & the inheritaunce shalbe oures.
12:8And they toke him & kylled him, & cast hym out of the vyneyard.
12:9What shall therfore the Lorde of the vyneyarde do? He shall come, ad destroye the husbandmen, & let out the vyneyarde vnto other.
12:10Haue ye not red this scrypture? The stone whych the buylders dyd refuse, is become the chefe stoone of the corner?
12:11this is the Lordes doynge, & it is meruelous in oure eyes.
12:12They went about also to take him, & feared the people. For they knewe, that he had spoken the parable agaynst them. And they left hym and went theyr waye:
12:13And they sent vnto hym certayne of the Pharises & Herodes seruauntes, to take him in his wordes.
12:14And assone as they were come, they sayd vnto him: Master, we knowe that thou arte true, & carest for no man: for thou consyderest not the outward appearaunce of men, but teachest the waye of God truly: Is it laufull to paye tribute to Cesar, or not?
12:15Ought we to geue, or ought we not to geue? But he vnderstode theyr symulacyon, and sayd vnto them: Why tempte ye me? Bringe me a peny, that I maye se it.
12:16And they brought it. And he sayeth vnto them: Whose is thys ymage & superscripcyon? And they sayde vnto hym: Cesars.
12:17And Iesus answered, and sayde vnto them: Geue to Cesar the thinges that belonge to Cesar: and to God, the thynges whych perteyne to God. And they meruelled at hym.
12:18There came also vnto hym the Saduces, whych saye that ther is no resurreccyon. And they asked hym sayinge:
12:19Master Moses wrote vnto vs, yf eny mans brother dye, and leaue hys wyfe behynde hym, and leaue no chyldren: that hys brother shuld take hys wyfe, and reyse vp seed vnto hys brother.
12:20There were seuen brethren, and the fyrst toke a wyfe: and when he dyed, left no seed behynde hym.
12:21And the seconde toke hyr, and dyed: nether left he any seed. And the thyrde lykewyse.
12:22And seuen had her, and left no seed behynde them. Last of all the wyfe dyed also.
12:23In the resurreccyon therfore when they shall ryse agayne: whose wyfe shall she be of them? For seuen had her to wyfe.
12:24And Iesus answered, and sayd vnto them: Do ye not therfore erre, because ye vnderstande not the scriptures, nether the power of God?
12:25For when they shall ryse agayne from deeth, they nether mary, nor are maryed: but are as the angels, whych are in heauen.
12:26As touching the deed, that they ryse agayne: haue ye not redde in the boke of Moses, how in the bushe, God spake vnto hym, sayinge: I am the God of Abraham and the God of Isaac, and the God of Iacob?
12:27He is no God of deed, but the God of lyuynge. Ye are therfore greatly deceaued.
12:28And whan ther came one of the Scrybes, and had hearde them disputynge to gether (and perceaued that he had answered them well) he asked hym: whych is the fyrst of all the commaundementes?
12:29Iesus answered him, the fyrste of all the commaundementes is: Heare O Israell: The Lorde oure God, is Lord onely:
12:30And thou shalt loue the Lorde thy God with all thy hert, & wyth all thy soule, and wyth all thy mynde, and with all thy strength. This is the fyrste commaundment.
12:31And the seconde is lyke vnto thys: Thou shalt loue thy neyghbour as thy selfe. Ther is none other commaundment greater then these.
12:32And the Scrybe sayde vnto him: well master, thou hast sayd the truthe, for ther is one God, & ther is none but he.
12:33And to loue hym wyth all the herte, and wyth all the mynde, & wyth all the soule, & wyth all the strength: and to loue a mans neyghbour as hym selfe, is a greater thynge, then all burt offerynges and sacrifyces.
12:34And when Iesus sawe that he answered discretly, he sayde vnto hym: Thou art not farre from the kyngdome of God. And no man after that, durst aske hym any questyon.
12:35And Iesus answered & sayde, teachinge in the temple: how saye the Scrybes that Chryst is the sonne of Dauid?
12:36for Dauid him selfe inspired wt the holy goost, sayd: The Lorde sayde to my Lorde, syt on my ryght hande tyll I make thyne enemyes thy fote stole.
12:37Dauid him selfe calleth him Lord: & how is he then hys sonne? And moche people hearde him gladly:
12:38And he sayde vnto them in his doctrine: beware of the Scribes, which loue to go in longe clothynge: & loue salutacions in the market places,
12:39and the chefe seates in the congregacyons, and the vppermost roumes at feastes:
12:40whych deuoure wydowes houses, and vnder a pretence, make longe prayers. These shall receaue greater dampnacyon.
12:41And whan Iesus sat ouer agaynst the treasury, he behelde, how the people put money into the treasury. And many that were ryche, cast in moch.
12:42And ther cam a certayne poore wydowe, and she threwe in two mytes, whych make a farthynge.
12:43And he called vnto him hys discyples & sayeth vnto them. Uerely I saye vnto you, that thys poore wydowe hath cast moare in, then all they which haue cast into the treasury.
12:44For they all dyd cast in of their superfluyte: but she of her pouerte, dyd cast in all that she had, euen all her lyuynge.
