Mark - Chapter: 12

>
12:1And he beganne to speake vnto them by parables. A certayne man planted a vyneyarde, and compassed it aboute wt an hedge, and ordeined a wyne presse, and bylt a toure, and let it out to hyre vnto husbandmen, and went into a straunge countre.
12:2And when the tyme was come, he sent to the husbandmen a seruaunt, that he myght receaue of the husbandmen of the frute of the vyneyarde.
12:3And they caught hym, and bet hym, and sent hym awaye agayne emptye.
12:4And moreouer, he sent vnto them another seruaunt, and at hym they cast stones and brake hys heed, & sent him awaye agayne all to reuyled.
12:5And agayne, he sent another, and him they kylled: and many other, beatynge some, and kyllinge some.
12:6And so whan he had yet but one beloued sonne, he sent him also at the last vnto them, sayinge: they wyll feare my sonne.
12:7But the husbandmen sayd amongest them selues: this is the heyre: come let vs kyl him, & the inheritaunce shalbe oures.
12:8And they toke him & kylled him, & cast hym out of the vyneyard.
12:9What shall therfore the Lorde of the vyneyarde do? He shall come, ad destroye the husbandmen, & let out the vyneyarde vnto other.
12:10Haue ye not red this scrypture? The stone whych the buylders dyd refuse, is become the chefe stoone of the corner?
12:11this is the Lordes doynge, & it is meruelous in oure eyes.
12:12They went about also to take him, & feared the people. For they knewe, that he had spoken the parable agaynst them. And they left hym and went theyr waye:
12:13And they sent vnto hym certayne of the Pharises & Herodes seruauntes, to take him in his wordes.
12:14And assone as they were come, they sayd vnto him: Master, we knowe that thou arte true, & carest for no man: for thou consyderest not the outward appearaunce of men, but teachest the waye of God truly: Is it laufull to paye tribute to Cesar, or not?
12:15Ought we to geue, or ought we not to geue? But he vnderstode theyr symulacyon, and sayd vnto them: Why tempte ye me? Bringe me a peny, that I maye se it.
12:16And they brought it. And he sayeth vnto them: Whose is thys ymage & superscripcyon? And they sayde vnto hym: Cesars.
12:17And Iesus answered, and sayde vnto them: Geue to Cesar the thinges that belonge to Cesar: and to God, the thynges whych perteyne to God. And they meruelled at hym.
12:18There came also vnto hym the Saduces, whych saye that ther is no resurreccyon. And they asked hym sayinge:
12:19Master Moses wrote vnto vs, yf eny mans brother dye, and leaue hys wyfe behynde hym, and leaue no chyldren: that hys brother shuld take hys wyfe, and reyse vp seed vnto hys brother.
12:20There were seuen brethren, and the fyrst toke a wyfe: and when he dyed, left no seed behynde hym.
12:21And the seconde toke hyr, and dyed: nether left he any seed. And the thyrde lykewyse.
12:22And seuen had her, and left no seed behynde them. Last of all the wyfe dyed also.
12:23In the resurreccyon therfore when they shall ryse agayne: whose wyfe shall she be of them? For seuen had her to wyfe.
12:24And Iesus answered, and sayd vnto them: Do ye not therfore erre, because ye vnderstande not the scriptures, nether the power of God?
12:25For when they shall ryse agayne from deeth, they nether mary, nor are maryed: but are as the angels, whych are in heauen.
12:26As touching the deed, that they ryse agayne: haue ye not redde in the boke of Moses, how in the bushe, God spake vnto hym, sayinge: I am the God of Abraham and the God of Isaac, and the God of Iacob?
12:27He is no God of deed, but the God of lyuynge. Ye are therfore greatly deceaued.
12:28And whan ther came one of the Scrybes, and had hearde them disputynge to gether (and perceaued that he had answered them well) he asked hym: whych is the fyrst of all the commaundementes?
12:29Iesus answered him, the fyrste of all the commaundementes is: Heare O Israell: The Lorde oure God, is Lord onely:
12:30And thou shalt loue the Lorde thy God with all thy hert, & wyth all thy soule, and wyth all thy mynde, and with all thy strength. This is the fyrste commaundment.
12:31And the seconde is lyke vnto thys: Thou shalt loue thy neyghbour as thy selfe. Ther is none other commaundment greater then these.
12:32And the Scrybe sayde vnto him: well master, thou hast sayd the truthe, for ther is one God, & ther is none but he.
12:33And to loue hym wyth all the herte, and wyth all the mynde, & wyth all the soule, & wyth all the strength: and to loue a mans neyghbour as hym selfe, is a greater thynge, then all burt offerynges and sacrifyces.
12:34And when Iesus sawe that he answered discretly, he sayde vnto hym: Thou art not farre from the kyngdome of God. And no man after that, durst aske hym any questyon.
12:35And Iesus answered & sayde, teachinge in the temple: how saye the Scrybes that Chryst is the sonne of Dauid?
12:36for Dauid him selfe inspired wt the holy goost, sayd: The Lorde sayde to my Lorde, syt on my ryght hande tyll I make thyne enemyes thy fote stole.
12:37Dauid him selfe calleth him Lord: & how is he then hys sonne? And moche people hearde him gladly:
12:38And he sayde vnto them in his doctrine: beware of the Scribes, which loue to go in longe clothynge: & loue salutacions in the market places,
12:39and the chefe seates in the congregacyons, and the vppermost roumes at feastes:
12:40whych deuoure wydowes houses, and vnder a pretence, make longe prayers. These shall receaue greater dampnacyon.
12:41And whan Iesus sat ouer agaynst the treasury, he behelde, how the people put money into the treasury. And many that were ryche, cast in moch.
12:42And ther cam a certayne poore wydowe, and she threwe in two mytes, whych make a farthynge.
12:43And he called vnto him hys discyples & sayeth vnto them. Uerely I saye vnto you, that thys poore wydowe hath cast moare in, then all they which haue cast into the treasury.
12:44For they all dyd cast in of their superfluyte: but she of her pouerte, dyd cast in all that she had, euen all her lyuynge.

12:1And Jhesus bigan to speke to hem in parablis. A man plauntide a vynyerd, and sette an hegge aboute it, and dalf a lake, and bildide a toure, and hiryde it to tilieris, and wente forth in pilgrimage.
12:2And he sente to the erthe tilieris in tyme a seruaunt, to resseyue of the erthe tilieris of the fruyt of the vynyerd.
12:3And thei token hym, and beeten, and leften hym voide.
12:4And eftsoone he sente to hem anothir seruaunt, and thei woundiden hym in the heed, and turmentiden hym.
12:5And eftsoone he sente another, and thei slowen hym, and othir mo, betynge summe, and sleynge othere.
12:6But yit he hadde a moost derworth sone, and he sente hym last to hem, and seide, Perauenture thei schulen drede my sone.
12:7But the erthetilieris seiden togidere, This is the eire; come ye, sle we hym, and the eritage schal be ourun.
12:8And thei tokun hym, and killiden, and castiden out without the vynyerd.
12:9Thanne what schal the lord of the vynyerd do? He schal come, and lese the tilieris, and yyue the vynyerd to othere.
12:10Whether ye han not red this scripture, The stoon which the bilderis han disspisid, this is maad in to the heed of the corner?
12:11This thing is doon of the Lord, and is wondirful in oure iyen.
12:12And thei souyten to holde hym, and thei dredden the puple; for thei knewen that to hem he seide this parable; and thei leften hym,
12:13and thei wenten awei. And thei senten to hym summe of the Farisees and Erodians, to take hym in word.
12:14Whiche camen, and seien to hym, Maistir, we witen that thou art sothfast, and reckist not of ony man; for nethir thou biholdist in to the face of man, but thou techist the weie of God in treuthe. Is it leeueful that tribute be youun to the emperoure, or we schulen not yyue?
12:15Which witynge her pryuei falsnesse, seide to hem, What tempten ye me? brynge ye to me a peny, that Y se.
12:16And thei brouyten to hym. And he seide to hem, Whos is this ymage, and the writyng? Thei seien to him, The emperouris.
12:17And Jhesus answeride and seide to hem, Thanne yelde ye to the emperour tho thingis that ben of the emperours; and to God tho thingis that ben of God.
12:18And thei wondriden of hym. And Saduces, that seien that ther is no ressurreccioun, camen to hym, and axeden hym,
12:19and seiden, Maister, Moyses wroot to vs, that if the brother of a man were deed, and lefte his wijf, and haue no sones, his brother take his wijf, and reise vp seed to his brother.
12:20Thanne seuene britheren ther weren; and the firste took a wijf, and diede, and lefte no seed.
12:21And the secounde took hir, and he diede, and nether this lefte seed.
12:22And the thridde also. And in lijk manere the seuene token hir, and leften not seed. And the womman the laste of alle `is deed.
12:23Thanne in the resurreccioun, whanne thei schulen rise ayen, whos wijf of these schal sche be? for seuene hadden hir to wijf.
12:24And Jhesus answeride, and seide to hem, Whether ye erren not therfor, that ye knowe not scripturis, nethir the vertu of God?
12:25For whanne thei schulen rise ayen fro deeth, nether thei schulen wedde, nethir schulen be weddid, but thei schulen be as aungels of God in heuenes.
12:26And of deed men, that thei risen ayen, han ye not red in the book of Moises, on the buysch, hou God spak to hym, and seide, Y am God of Abraham, and God of Isaac, and God of Jacob?
12:27He is not God of deed men, but of lyuynge men; therfor ye erren myche.
12:28And oon of the scribis, that hadde herde hem dispuytynge togidir, cam nyy, and saiy that Jhesus had wel answeride hem, and axide hym, which was the firste maundement of alle.
12:29And Jhesus answeride to him, that the firste maundement of alle is, Here thou, Israel, thi Lord God is o God;
12:30and thou schalt loue thi Lord God of al thin herte, and of al thi soule, and of al thi mynde, and of al thi myyt.
12:31This is the firste maundement. And the secounde is lijk to this, Thou schalt loue thi neiybore as thi silf. Ther is noon other maundement gretter than these.
12:32And the scribe seide to hym, Maister, in treuthe thou hast wel seid; for o God is, and ther is noon other, outakun hym;
12:33that he be loued of al the herte, and of al the mynde, and of al the vndurstondynge, and of al the soule, and of al strengthe, and to loue the neiybore as hym silf, is gretter than alle brent offryngis and sacrifices.
12:34And Jhesus seynge that he hadde answerid wiseli, seide to hym, Thou art not fer fro the kyngdom of God.
12:35And thanne no man durste axe hym no more ony thing. And Jhesus answeride and seide, techynge in the temple, Hou seien scribis, that Crist is the sone of Dauid?
12:36For Dauid hym silf seide in the Hooli Goost, the Lord seide to my lord, Sitte on my riythalf, til Y putte thin enemyes the stool of thi feet.
12:37Thanne Dauid hym silf clepith him lord, hou thanne is he his sone? And myche puple gladli herde hym.
12:38And he seide to hem in his techyng, Be ye war of scribis, that wolen wandre in stolis,
12:39and be salutid in chepyng, and sitte in synagogis in the firste chaieris, and the firste sittyng placis in soperis;
12:40whiche deuouren the housis of widewis vndur colour of long preier; thei schulen take the longer doom.
12:41And Jhesus sittynge ayens the tresorie, bihelde hou the puple castide monei in to the tresorie; and many riche men castiden many thingis.
12:42But whanne a pore widewe was comun, sche keste two mynutis, that is, a ferthing.
12:43And he clepide togidere hise disciplis, and seide to hem, Treuli Y seie to you, that this pore widewe keste more thanne alle, that kesten in to the tresorie.
12:44For alle kesten of that thing that thei hadden plente of; but this of her pouert keste alle thingis that sche hadde, al hir lyuelode.

12:1And he beganne to speake vnto them by parables: A certayne ma planted a vynyarde, and made a hedge aboute it, and dygged a wynne presse, and buylded a tower, and let it out vnto hussbande men, and wente in to a straunge countre.
12:2And whan the tyme was come, he sent a seruaut to the hussbande men, that he might receaue of the hussbandmen, of the frute of the vynyarde.
12:3But they toke him, and bet him, and sent him awaye emptye.
12:4Agayne, he sent vnto them another seruaunt, whom they stoned, and brake his heade, and sent him awaye shamefully dealt withall.
12:5Agayne he sent another, whom they slew, and many other: some they bett, and some they put to death.
12:6Then had he yet one sonne onely, whom he loued, him he sent also vnto them at the last, and sayde: they wyl stonde in awe of my sonne.
12:7But the same hussbandmen sayde amonge them selues: This is the heyre, Come, let vs kyll him, so shal the inheritaunce be ours.
12:8And they toke him, and slewe him, and cast him out of the vynyarde.
12:9What shal now the lorde of the vynyarde do? He shal come and destroye the hussbande men, and geue the vynyarde vnto other.
12:10Haue ye not red this scripture: The same stone which the buylders refused, is become the headstone in the corner?
12:11This was the LORDES doynge, and it is maruelous in oure eyes.
12:12And they wente aboute to take him (but they feared the people) for they perceaued, that he had spoke this parable agaynst the. And they left him, and wente their waye.
12:13And they sent vnto him certayne of the Pharises and Herodes officers to take him in his wordes.
12:14And they came, and sayde vnto hi: Master, we knowe that thou art true and carest for no man. For thou regardest not the outwarde appearaunce of men, but teachest ye waye of God truly. Is it laufull to geue tribute vnto the Emperoure, or not?
12:15Ought we to geue it, or ought we not to geue it? But he perceaued their ypocrisye, and sayde vnto them: Why tempte ye me? Brynge me a peny, that I maye se it.
12:16And they brought it him. Then sayde he: Whose ymage and superscripcion is this? They sayde vnto him: The Emperours.
12:17Then answered Iesus and sayde vnto the: Geue therfore vnto the Emperoure that which is the Emperours, and vnto God that which is Gods. And they marueled at him.
12:18Then came vnto him the Saduces (which holde that there is no resurreccion) these axed him, and sayde:
12:19Master, Moses wrote vnto vs. Yf eny mans brother dye, and leaue a wife, and leaue no children, his brother shal take his wife, and rayse vp sede vnto his brother.
12:20Now were there seuen brethren: the first toke a wife, and dyed, and left no sede:
12:21and the seconde toke her, and dyed, and left no sede also: the thirde in like maner.
12:22And they all seuen toke her, and left no sede. At the last after them all, the wyfe dyed also.
12:23Now in the resurreccion whan they shal ryse agayne, whose wife shal she be of them? For seuen had her to wife.
12:24Then answered Iesus, and sayde vnto them: Do not ye erre? because ye knowe not the scryptures ner ye power of God?
12:25Whan they shal ryse agayne from the deed, they shal nether mary ner be maried, but they are as the angels in heauen.
12:26As touchinge the deed, that they shal ryse agayne, haue ye not red in the boke of Moses, how God spake vnto him in the bush, and sayde: I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, & the God of Iacob?
12:27Yet is not God a God of the deed, but of the lyuynge. Therfore ye erre greatly.
12:28And there came vnto him one of the scrybes, that had herkened vnto the how they disputed together, and sawe that he had answered them well, and axed him: Which is the chefest comaundement of all?
12:29Iesus answered him: The chefest commaundemet of all commaundementes is this: Heare O Israel, the LORDE oure God is one God,
12:30and thou shalt loue the LORDE thy God with all thy hert, with all thy soule, with all thy mynde, and with all thy strength. This is the chefest commaundement,
12:31and the seconde is like vnto it: Thou shalt loue thy neghboure as thy self. There is none other greater commaundement then these.
12:32And the scrybe sayde vnto him: Master, Verely thou hast sayde right: for there is but one God, & there is none other without him,
12:33and to loue him with all the hert, with all the mynde, with all the soule, and with all the strength, and to loue a mans neghboure as himself, is more then brent sacrifices and all offerynges.
12:34But wha Iesus sawe that he answered discretly, he sayde vnto him: Thou art not farre from the kyngdome of God. And after this durst no man axe him eny mo questions.
12:35And Iesus answered, and sayde, whan he taught in the temple: How saye the scrybes, yt Christ is the sonne of Dauid?
12:36But Dauid himself saieth thorow the holy goost: The LORDE sayde vnto my LORDE: Syt thou on my right honde, tyll I make thine enemies yi fotestole.
12:37There Dauid calleth him his LORDE. How is he the his sonne? And many people herde him gladly.
12:38And he taught the, and sayde vnto the: Bewarre of the scrybes, that loue to go in longe garmentes, and loue to be saluted in the market,
12:39and syt gladly aboue in the synagoges and at the table:
12:40they deuoure wyddowes houses, and vnder a coloure they make longe prayers. These shal receaue the more damnacion.
12:41And Iesus sat ouer agaynst the Gods chest, and behelde how the people put money in to the Godschest. And many that were riche: put in moch.
12:42And there came a poore wyddowe, and put in two mytes, which make a farthinge.
12:43And he called vnto him his disciples, and sayde vnto them: Verely I saye vnto you: this poore wyddowe hath put more in ye Godschest, then all they that haue put in:
12:44For they all haue put i of their superfluyte, but she of hir pouerte hath put in all that she had, euen hir whole lyuynge.
