Mark - Chapter: 13


13:1	And as he is going forth out of the temple, one of his disciples saith to him, `Teacher, see! what stones! and what buildings!'
13:2	and Jesus answering said to him, `Seest thou these great buildings? there may not be left a stone upon a stone, that may not be thrown down.'
13:3	And as he is sitting at the mount of the Olives, over-against the temple, Peter, and James, and John, and Andrew, were questioning him by himself,
13:4	`Tell us when these things shall be? and what `is' the sign when all these may be about to be fulfilled?'
13:5	And Jesus answering them, began to say, `Take heed lest any one may lead you astray,
13:6	for many shall come in my name, saying -- I am `he', and many they shall lead astray;
13:7	and when ye may hear of wars and reports of wars, be not troubled, for these behove to be, but the end `is' not yet;
13:8	for nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there shall be earthquakes in divers places, and there shall be famines and troubles; beginnings of sorrows `are' these.
13:9	`And take ye heed to yourselves, for they shall deliver you up to sanhedrims, and to synagogues, ye shall be beaten, and before governors and kings ye shall be set for my sake, for a testimony to them;
13:10	and to all the nations it behoveth first that the good news be proclaimed.
13:11	`And when they may lead you, delivering up, be not anxious beforehand what ye may speak, nor premeditate, but whatever may be given to you in that hour, that speak ye, for it is not ye who are speaking, but the Holy Spirit.
13:12	`And brother shall deliver up brother to death, and father child, and children shall rise up against parents, and shall put them to death,
13:13	and ye shall be hated by all because of my name, but he who hath endured to the end -- he shall be saved.
13:14	`And when ye may see the abomination of the desolation, that was spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, (whoever is reading let him understand), then those in Judea, let them flee to the mountains;
13:15	and he upon the house-top, let him not come down to the house, nor come in to take anything out of his house;
13:16	and he who is in the field, let him not turn to the things behind, to take up his garment.
13:17	`And wo to those with child, and to those giving suck, in those days;
13:18	and pray ye that your flight may not be in winter,
13:19	for those days shall be tribulation, such as hath not been from the beginning of the creation that God created, till now, and may not be;
13:20	and if the Lord did not shorten the days, no flesh had been saved; but because of the chosen, whom He did choose to Himself, He did shorten the days.
13:21	`And then, if any may say to you, Lo, here `is' the Christ, or, Lo, there, ye may not believe;
13:22	for there shall rise false Christs and false prophets, and they shall give signs and wonders, to seduce, if possible, also the chosen;
13:23	and ye, take heed; lo, I have foretold you all things.
13:24	`But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light,
13:25	and the stars of the heaven shall be falling, and the powers that are in the heavens shall be shaken.
13:26	`And then they shall see the Son of Man coming in clouds with much power and glory,
13:27	and then he shall send his messengers, and gather together his chosen from the four winds, from the end of the earth unto the end of heaven.
13:28	`And from the fig-tree learn ye the simile: when the branch may already become tender, and may put forth the leaves, ye know that nigh is the summer;
13:29	so ye, also, when these ye may see coming to pass, ye know that it is nigh, at the doors.
13:30	Verily I say to you, that this generation may not pass away till all these things may come to pass;
13:31	the heaven and the earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.
13:32	`And concerning that day and the hour no one hath known -- not even the messengers who are in the heaven, not even the Son -- except the Father.
13:33	Take heed, watch and pray, for ye have not known when the time is;
13:34	as a man who is gone abroad, having left his house, and given to his servants the authority, and to each one his work, did command also the porter that he may watch;
13:35	watch ye, therefore, for ye have not known when the lord of the house doth come, at even, or at midnight, or at cock-crowing, or at the morning;
13:36	lest, having come suddenly, he may find you sleeping;
13:37	and what I say to you, I say to all, Watch.'

13:2	And Jesus answering said unto him, Seest thou these great buildings? there shall not be left one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.
13:3	And as he sat upon the mount of Olives over against the temple, Peter and James and John and Andrew asked him privately,
13:4	Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign when all these things shall be fulfilled?
13:5	And Jesus answering them began to say, Take heed lest any man deceive you:
13:6	For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.
13:7	And when ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars, be ye not troubled: for such things must needs be; but the end shall not be yet.
13:8	For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be earthquakes in divers places, and there shall be famines and troubles: these are the beginnings of sorrows.
13:9	But take heed to yourselves: for they shall deliver you up to councils; and in the synagogues ye shall be beaten: and ye shall be brought before rulers and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them.
13:10	And the gospel must first be published among all nations.
13:11	But when they shall lead you, and deliver you up, take no thought beforehand what ye shall speak, neither do ye premeditate: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye: for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Ghost.
13:12	Now the brother shall betray the brother to death, and the father the son; and children shall rise up against their parents, and shall cause them to be put to death.
13:13	And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
13:14	But when ye shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, (let him that readeth understand,) then let them that be in Judaea flee to the mountains:
13:15	And let him that is on the housetop not go down into the house, neither enter therein, to take any thing out of his house:
13:16	And let him that is in the field not turn back again for to take up his garment.
13:17	But woe to them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!
13:18	And pray ye that your flight be not in the winter.
13:19	For in those days shall be affliction, such as was not from the beginning of the creation which God created unto this time, neither shall be.
13:20	And except that the Lord had shortened those days, no flesh should be saved: but for the elect's sake, whom he hath chosen, he hath shortened the days.
13:21	And then if any man shall say to you, Lo, here is Christ; or, lo, he is there; believe him not:
13:22	For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect.
13:23	But take ye heed: behold, I have foretold you all things.
13:24	But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light,
13:25	And the stars of heaven shall fall, and the powers that are in heaven shall be shaken.
13:26	And then shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory.
13:27	And then shall he send his angels, and shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth to the uttermost part of heaven.
13:28	Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When her branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is near:
13:29	So ye in like manner, when ye shall see these things come to pass, know that it is nigh, even at the doors.
13:30	Verily I say unto you, that this generation shall not pass, till all these things be done.
13:31	Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.
13:32	But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father.
13:33	Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is.
13:34	For the Son of man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch.
13:35	Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning:
13:36	Lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping.
13:37	And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch.

13:7	But when you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not be disturbed, for it must occur; but the end is not yet.
13:8	For nation will be raised against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there shall be earthquakes in many places. And there shall be famines and troubles. These things are the beginnings of anguishes.
13:9	But you yourselves be careful, for they will deliver you up to sanhedrins and to synagogues. You will be beaten, and you will be led before governors and kings for My sake, for a testimony to them.
13:10	And the gospel must first be proclaimed to all the nations.
13:11	But whenever they lead you away, delivering you , do not be anxious beforehand, what you should say, nor meditate. But whatever may be given to you in that hour, speak that. For you are not those speaking, but the Holy Spirit.
13:12	And a brother will deliver up a brother to death, and a father the child. And children will rise up on parents and will put them to death.
13:13	And you will be hated by all on account of My name. But the one enduring to the end, that one will be kept safe.
13:14	But when you see "the abomination of desolation," the one spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not (he reading, let him understand), then let those in Judea flee into the mountains. Dan. 11:31; 12:11

13:30	Truly I say to you, Not at all will this generation pass away until all these things occur.
13:31	The heaven and the earth will pass away, but My words will not at all pass away.
13:32	But concerning that day and the hour, no one knows, not the angels, those in Heaven, nor the Son, except the Father.
13:33	Watch! Be wakeful, and pray. For you do not know when the time is.
13:34	As a man going away, leaving his house, and giving his slaves authority, and to each his work (and he commanded the doorkeeper, that he watch),
13:35	then you watch, for you do not know when the lord of the house is coming, at evening, or at midnight, or at cockcrowing, or early;
13:36	so that he may not come suddenly and find you sleeping.
13:37	And what I say to you, I say to all. Watch!
