14:17And whanne the euentid was come, he cam with the twelue.
14:18And whanne thei saten `at the mete, and eeten, Jhesus seide, Treuli Y seie to you, that oon of you that etith with me, schal bitray me.
14:19And thei bigunnen to be sori, and to seie to hym, ech bi hem silf, Whether Y?

14:22And while thei eeten, Jhesus took breed, and blessid, and brak, and yaf to hem, and seide, Take ye; this is my bodi.
14:23And whanne he hadde take the cuppe, he dide thankyngis, and yaf to hem, and alle dronken therof.
14:24And he seide to hem, This is my blood of the newe testament, which schal be sched for many.
14:25Treuli Y seye to you, for now Y schal not drynke of this fruyt of vyne, in to that dai whane Y schal drynke it newe in the rewme of God.
14:26And whanne the ympne was seid, thei wenten out in to the hil of Olyues.
14:27And Jhesus seide to hem, Alle ye schulen be sclaundrid in me in this nyyt; for it is writun, Y schal smyte the scheepherde, and the scheep of the flok schulen be disparplid.
14:28But aftir that Y schal rise ayen, Y schal go bifor you in to Galilee.
14:29And Petir seide to hym, Thouy alle schulen be sclaundrid, but not Y.
14:30And Jhesus seide to hym, Treuli Y seie to thee, that to dai bifore that the cok in this niyt crowe twies, thou schalt thries denye me.
14:31But he seide more, Thouy it bihoueth, that Y die togider with thee, Y schal not forsake thee. And in lijk maner alle seiden.
14:32And thei camen in to a place, whos name is Gethsamany. And he seide to hise disciplis, Sitte ye here, while Y preye.
14:33And he took Petir and James and Joon with hym, and bigan to drede, and to be anoyed.
14:34And he seide to hem, My soule is soreweful to the deeth; abide ye here, and wake ye with me.
14:35And whanne he was gon forth a litil, he felde doun on the erthe, and preiede, that if it myyte be, that the our schulde passe fro hym.
14:36And he seide, Abba, fadir, alle thingis ben possible to thee, bere ouer fro me this cuppe; but not that Y wole, but that thou wolt, be don.
14:37And he cam, and foond hem slepynge. And he seide to Petir, Symount, slepist thou? myytist thou not wake with me oon our?
14:38Wake ye, and `preie ye, that ye entre not in to temptacioun; for the spirit is redi, but the fleische is sijk.
14:39And eftsoone he yede, and preiede, and seide the same word;
14:40and turnede ayen eftsoone, and foond hem slepynge; for her iyen weren heuyed. And thei knewen not, what thei schulden answere to hym.
14:41And he cam the thridde tyme, and seide to hem, Slepe ye now, and reste ye; it suffisith. The hour is comun; lo! mannus sone schal be bitraied in to the hondis of synful men.
14:42Rise ye, go we; lo! he that schal bitraye me is nyy.
14:43And yit while he spak, Judas Scarioth, oon of the twelue, cam, and with him miche puple with swerdis and staues, sent fro the hiyest prestis, and the scribis, and fro the eldre men.
14:44And his traytour hadde youun to hem a tokene, and seide, Whom euer Y kisse, he it is; holde ye hym, and lede ye warli.
14:45And whanne he cam, anoon he came to hym, and seide, Maistir; and he kisside hym.
14:46And thei leiden hondis on hym, and helden hym.
14:47But oon of the men that stoden aboute, drowy out a swerd, and smoot the seruaunt of the hiyest preest, and kittide of his eere.
14:48And Jhesus answeride, and seide to hem, As to a theef ye han gon out with swerdis and staues, to take me?
14:49Dai bi dai Y was among you, and tauyte in the temple, and ye helden not me; but that the scripturis be fulfillid.
14:50Thanne alle hise disciplis forsoken hym, and fledden.
14:51But a yong man, clothid with lynnun cloth on the bare, suede hym; and thei helden hym.
14:52And he lefte the lynnyn clothing, and fleiy nakid awei fro hem.
14:53And thei ledden Jhesu to the hiyest preest. And alle the prestis and scribis and eldere men camen togidir.
14:54But Petir suede hym afer in to the halle of the hiyest preest. And he sat with the mynystris, and warmede hym at the fier.
14:55And the hiyest prestis, and al the counsel, souyten witnessyng ayens Jhesu to take hym to the deeth; but thei founden not.
14:56For manye seiden fals witnessyng ayens hym, and the witnessyngis weren not couenable.
14:57And summe risen vp, and baren fals witnessyng ayens hym,
14:58and seiden, For we `han herd hym seiynge, Y schal vndo this temple maad with hondis, and aftir the thridde dai Y schal bilde another not maad with hondis.
14:59And the witnessyng `of hem was not couenable.
14:60And the hiyest prest roos vp in to the myddil, and axide Jhesu, and seide, Answerist thou no thing to tho thingis that ben put ayens thee of these?
14:61But he was stille, and answeride no thing. Eftsoone the hiyest prest axide hym, and seide to hym, Art thou Crist, the sone of the blessid God?
14:62And Jhesus seide to hym, Y am; and ye schulen se mannus sone sittynge on the riythalf of the vertu of God, and comynge in the cloudis of heuene.
14:63And the hiyest preest torente hise clothis, and seide, What yit dissiren we witnessis?
14:64Ye han herd blasfemye. What semeth to you? And thei alle condempneden hym to be gilti of deeth.
14:65And summe bigunnen to bispete hym, `and to hile his face, and to smite hym with buffetis, and seie to hym, Areede thou. And the mynystris beeten hym with strokis.
14:66And whanne Petir was in the halle bynethen, oon of the damesels of the hiyest prest cam.
14:67And whanne sche hadde seyn Petir warmynge hym, sche bihelde hym, and seide, And thou were with Jhesu of Nazareth.
14:68And he denyede, and seide, Nethir Y woot, nethir Y knowe, what thou seist. And he wente without forth bifor the halle; and anoon the cok crewe.
14:69And eftsoone whanne another damesel hadde seyn hym, sche bigan to seye to men that stoden aboute, That this is of hem.
14:70And he eftsoone denyede. And aftir a litil, eftsoone thei that stoden nyy, seiden to Petir, Verili thou art of hem, for thou art of Galilee also.
14:71But he bigan to curse and to swere, For Y knowe not this man, whom ye seien.
14:72And anoon eftsoones the cok crew. And Petir bithouyte on the word that Jhesus hadde seide to hym, Bifor the cok crowe twies, thries thou schalt denye me. And he bigan to wepe.

14:1And two daies after followed the feast of the Passeouer, and of vnleauened bread: and the hie Priests, and Scribes sought how they might take him by craft, and put him to death.
14:2But they sayde, Not in the feast day, least there be any tumult among the people.
14:3And when hee was in Bethania in the house of Simon the leper, as he sate at table, there came a woman hauing a boxe of oyntment of spikenarde, very costly, and shee brake the boxe, and powred it on his head.
14:4Therefore some disdained among themselues, and sayde, To what ende is this waste of oyntment?
14:5For it might haue bene sold for more then three hundreth pence, and bene giuen vnto the poore, and they murmured against her.
14:6But Iesus saide, Let her alone: why trouble yee her? shee hath wrought a good worke on me.
14:7For yee haue the poore with you alwaies, and when yee will yee may doe them good, but me yee shall not haue alwaies.
14:8She hath done that she coulde: she came afore hand to anoynt my body to the burying.
14:9Verely I say vnto you, wheresoeuer this Gospel shall be preached throughout the whole world, this also that she hath done, shalbe spoken of in remembrance of her.
14:10Then Iudas Iscariot, one of the twelue, went away vnto the hie Priestes, to betray him vnto them.
14:11And when they heard it, they were glad, and promised that they woulde giue him monie: therefore he sought howe he might conueniently betraie him.
14:12Nowe the first day of vnleauened bread, when they sacrificed the Passeouer, his disciples sayde vnto him, Where wilt thou that we goe and prepare, that thou mayest eate the Passeouer?
14:13Then hee sent foorth two of his disciples, and sayde vnto them, Goe yee into the citie, and there shall a man meete you bearing a pitcher of water: follow him.
14:14And whithersoeuer he goeth in, say yee to the good man of the house, The Master sayeth, Where is the lodging where I shall eate the Passeouer with my disciples?
14:15And he wil shewe you an vpper chamber which is large, trimmed and prepared: there make it readie for vs.
14:16So his disciples went foorth, and came to the citie, and found as he had said vnto them, and made readie the Passeouer.
14:17And at euen he came with the twelue.
14:18And as they sate at table and did eate, Iesus said, Verely I say vnto you, that one of you shall betray me, which eateth with me.
14:19Then they began to be sorowful and to say to him one by one, Is it I? And another, Is it I?
14:20And he answered and sayde vnto them, It is one of the twelue that dippeth with mee in the platter.
14:21Truely the Sonne of man goeth his way, as it is written of him: but woe bee to that man, by whome the Sonne of man is betrayed: it had beene good for that man, if hee had neuer beene borne.
14:22And as they did eate, Iesus tooke the bread, and when hee had giuen thankes, he brake it and gaue it to them, and sayde, Take, eate, this is my bodie.
14:23Also he tooke the cuppe, and when he had giuen thankes, gaue it to them: and they all dranke of it.
14:24And he saide vnto them, This is my blood of that newe Testament, which is shed for many.
14:25Verely I say vnto you, I wil drinke no more of the fruit of ye vine vntill that day, that I drinke it newe in the kingdome of God.
14:26And when they had sung a Psalme, they went out to the mount of Oliues.
14:27Then Iesus said vnto them, Al ye shall be offended by mee this night: for it is written, I will smite the shepheard, and the sheepe shall be scattered.
14:28But after that I am risen, I will goe into Galile before you.
14:29And Peter saide vnto him, Although all men should be offended at thee, yet would not I.
14:30Then Iesus saide vnto him, Verely I say vnto thee, this day, euen in this night, before the cocke crowe twise, thou shalt denie me thrise.
14:31But he saide more earnestly. If I shoulde die with thee, I will not denie thee: likewise also saide they all.
14:32After, they came into a place named Gethsemane: then hee saide to his disciples, Sit yee here, till I haue praied.
14:33And hee tooke with him Peter, and Iames, and Iohn, and hee began to be troubled, and in great heauinesse,
14:34And saide vnto them, My soule is very heauie, euen vnto the death: tarie here, and watch.
14:35So he went forward a litle, and fell downe on the ground, and praied, that if it were possible, that houre might passe from him.
14:36And he saide, Abba, Father, all things are possible vnto thee: take away this cup from me: neuertheles not that I will, but that thou wilt, be done.
14:37Then hee came, and founde them sleeping, and said to Peter, Simon, sleepest thou? couldest not thou watche one houre?
14:38Watch ye, and pray, that ye enter not into tentation: the spirite in deede is ready, but the flesh is weake.
14:39And againe hee went away, and praied, and spake the same wordes.
14:40And he returned, and founde them a sleepe againe: for their eyes were heauie: neither knewe they what they should answere him.
14:41And he came the third time, and said vnto them, Sleepe henceforth, and take your rest: it is ynough: the houre is come: beholde, the Sonne of man is deliuered into the hands of sinners.
14:42Rise vp: let vs go: loe, he that betraieth me, is at hand.
14:43And immediatly while hee yet spake, came Iudas that was one of the twelue, and with him a great multitude with swordes and staues from the hie Priests, and Scribes, and Elders.
14:44And he that betraied him, had giuen them a token, saying, Whomsoeuer I shall kisse, he it is: take him and leade him away safely.
14:45And assoone as hee was come, hee went straightway to him, and saide, Haile Master, and kissed him.
14:46Then they laide their handes on him, and tooke him.
14:47And one of them that stoode by, drewe out a sword, and smote a seruant of the hie Priest, and cut off his eare.
14:48And Iesus answered and saide to them, Ye be come out as against a thiefe with swordes, and with staues, to take me.
14:49I was daily with you teaching in the Temple, and yee tooke me not: but this is done that the Scriptures should be fulfilled.
14:50Then they all forsooke him, and fled.
14:51And there followed him a certaine yong man, clothed in linnen vpon his bare bodie, and the yong men caught him.
14:52But he left his linnen cloth, and fled from them naked.
14:53So they led Iesus away to the hie Priest, and to him came together all the hie Priestes, and the Elders, and the Scribes.
14:54And Peter folowed him afarre off, euen into the hall of the hie Priest, and sate with the seruants, and warmed himselfe at the fire.
14:55And the hie Priests, and all the Councill sought for witnesse against Iesus, to put him to death, but found none.
14:56For many bare false witnesse against him, but their witnesse agreed not together.
14:57Then there arose certaine, and bare false witnesse against him, saying,
14:58We hearde him say, I will destroy this Temple made with hands, and within three daies I will builde another, made without hands.
14:59But their witnesse yet agreed not together.
14:60Then the hie Priest stoode vp amongst them, and asked Iesus, saying, Answerest thou nothing? what is the matter that these beare witnesse against thee?
14:61But hee helde his peace, and answered nothing. Againe the hie Priest asked him, and sayde vnto him, Art thou that Christ the Sonne of the Blessed?
14:62And Iesus said, I am he, and yee shall see the Sonne of man sitte at the right hande of the power of God, and come in the clouds of heauen.
14:63Then the hie Priest rent his clothes, and sayd, What haue we any more neede of witnesses?
14:64Ye haue heard the blasphemie: what thinke yee? And they all condemned him to be worthie of death.
14:65And some began to spit at him, and to couer his face, and to beate him with fists, and to say vnto him, Prophesie. And the sergeants smote him with their roddes.
14:66And as Peter was beneath in the hal, there came one of the maides of the hie Priest.
14:67And when shee sawe Peter warming him selfe, shee looked on him, and sayde, Thou wast also with Iesus of Nazareth.
14:68But he denied it, saying, I knowe him not, neither wot I what thou saiest. Then he went out into the porche, and the cocke crewe.
14:69Then a maid sawe him againe, and bega to say to them that stood by, This is one of them.
14:70But hee denied it againe: and anon after, they that stoode by, sayde againe to Peter, Surely thou art one of them: for thou art of Galile, and thy speach is like.
14:71And he began to curse, and sweare, saying, I knowe not this man of whom ye speake.
14:72Then the seconde time the cocke crewe, and Peter remembred the woorde that Iesus had saide vnto him, Before the cocke crowe twise, thou shalt denie me thrise, and waying that with himselfe, he wept.

14:1After two days it was the Feast of the Passover and of Unleavened Bread. And the chief priests and the scribes sought how they might take Him by deception and put Him to death.
14:2But they said, "Not on the feast day, lest there be an uproar of the people."
14:3And being in Bethany at the house of Simon the leper, as He sat at the table, a woman came having an alabaster flask of very costly oil of spikenard. Then she broke the flask and poured it on His head.
14:4But there were some who were indignant among themselves, and said, "Why was this fragrant oil wasted?
14:5Because, it might have been sold for more than three hundred denarii and had been given to the poor." And they murmured against her.
14:6But Jesus said, "Leave her alone. Why do you trouble her? She has done a good work for Me."
14:7Because, you have the poor with you always, and whenever you desire you can do them good; but Me you do not have always."
14:8She has done what she could. She has come beforehand to anoint My body for burial."
14:9Truly, I say to you, wherever this gospel is preached in the entire world, what this woman has done will also be told as a memorial to her."
14:10Then Judas Iscariot, one of the twelve, went to the chief priests to betray Him to them.
14:11And when they heard it, they were glad, and promised to give him money. So he sought how he might conveniently betray Him.
14:12Now on the first day of Unleavened Bread, when they killed the Passover, His disciples said to Him, "Where do You want us to go and prepare, that You may eat the Passover?"
14:13And He sent out two of His disciples and said to them, "Go into the city, and a man will meet you carrying a pitcher of water; follow him."
14:14Wherever he goes in, say to the master of the house, 'The Teacher says, "Where is the guest room in which I may eat the Passover with My disciples?"'
14:15Then he will show you a large upper room, furnished and prepared; there make preparations for us."
14:16So His disciples went out, and came into the city, and found it just as He had said to them; and they prepared the Passover.
14:17In the evening He came with the twelve.
14:18Now as they sat and ate, Jesus said, "Truly, I say to you, one of you who eats with Me will betray Me."
14:19And they began to be sorrowful, and to say to Him one by one, "Is it I?" And another said, "Is it I?"
14:20He answered and said to them, "It is one of the twelve, who dips with Me in the dish."
14:21The Son of Man indeed goes just as it is written of Him, but woe to that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed! It would have been good for that man if he had never been born."
14:22And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it to them and said, "Take, eat; this is My body."
14:23Then He took the cup, and when He had given thanks He gave it to them, and they all drank of it.
14:24And He said to them, "This is My blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many."
14:25Truly, I say to you, I will no longer drink of the fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it new in the kingdom of God."
14:26And when they had sung a song, they went out to the Mount of Olives.
14:27Then Jesus said to them, "All of you will be made to stumble because of Me this night, because, it is written: 'I will strike the Shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered.'"
14:28"But after I have been raised, I will go before you to Galilee."
14:29But Peter said to Him, "Even if all are made to stumble, yet I will not be."
14:30And Jesus said to him, "Truly, I say to you that today, even this night, before the rooster crows twice, you will deny Me three times."
14:31But he spoke more vehemently, "If I have to die with You, I will not deny You in any way!" And they all said likewise.
14:32Then they came to a place which was named Gethsemane; and He said to His disciples, "You sit here while I pray."
14:33And He took Peter, James, and John with Him, and began to be troubled and very distressed.
14:34Then He said to them, "My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death. Stay here and watch."
14:35He went a little farther, and fell on the ground, and prayed that if it were possible, the hour might pass from Him.
14:36And He said, "Abba, Father, all things are possible for You. Take this cup away from Me; nevertheless, not what I will, but what You will."
14:37Then He came and found them sleeping, and said to Peter, "Simon, are you sleeping? Could you not watch one hour?"
14:38Watch and pray all of you, lest you enter into temptation. Truly the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak."
14:39Again He went away and prayed, and spoke the same words.
14:40And when He returned, He found them asleep again, because their eyes were heavy; and they did not know what to answer Him.
14:41Then He came the third time and said to them, "Sleep now and take your rest, it is enough! The hour has come; behold, the Son of Man is being betrayed into the hands of sinners."
14:42Rise, let us be going. See, he who betrays Me is at hand."
14:43And immediately, while He was still speaking, Judas, one of the twelve, with a large crowd with swords and clubs, came from the chief priests and the scribes and the elders.
14:44Now His betrayer had given them a signal, saying, "Whomever I kiss, He is the One; seize Him and lead Him away safely."
14:45And as soon as he had come, immediately he went up to Him and said to Him, "Teacher, Teacher!" and kissed Him.
14:46Then they laid their hands on Him and took Him.
14:47And one of those who stood by drew a sword and struck the servant of the high priest, and cut off his ear.
14:48Then Jesus responded and said to them, "Have you come out, as against a thief, with swords and clubs to take Me?"
14:49I was daily with you in the temple teaching, and you did not seize Me. But the Scriptures must be fulfilled."
14:50Then they all forsook Him and fled.
14:51Now a certain young man followed Him, having a linen cloth thrown around his naked body. And the young men laid hold of him,
14:52and he left the linen cloth and fled from them naked.
14:53And they led Jesus away to the high priest; and with him were assembled all the chief priests, the elders, and the scribes.
14:54But Peter followed Him at a distance, right into the courtyard of the high priest. And he sat with the servants and warmed himself at the fire.
14:55Now the chief priests and all the council sought testimony against Jesus to put Him to death, but found none.
14:56Because, many bore false witness against Him, but their testimonies did not agree.
14:57Then some rose up and bore false witness against Him, saying,
14:58"We heard Him say, 'I will destroy this temple that is made with hands, and within three days I will build another made without hands.'"
14:59But not even then did their testimony agree together.
14:60And the high priest stood up in the midst and asked Jesus, saying, "Do You answer nothing? What is it that these people testify against You?"
14:61But He kept silent and answered nothing. Again the high priest asked Him, saying to Him, "Are You the Christ, the Son of the Blessed?"
14:62Jesus said, "I am. And you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Power, and coming with the clouds of heaven."
14:63Then the high priest tore his clothes and said, "What further need do we have of witnesses?
14:64You have heard the blasphemy! What do you think?" And they all condemned Him to be deserving of death.
14:65Then some began to spit on Him, and to cover His face, and to beat Him, and to say to Him, "Prophesy!" And the officers struck Him with the palms of their hands.
14:66Now as Peter was below in the courtyard, one of the servant girls of the high priest came.
14:67And when she saw Peter warming himself, she looked at him and said, "You also were with Jesus of Nazareth."
14:68But he denied it, saying, "I neither know nor understand what you are saying." And he went out on the porch, and a rooster crowed.
14:69And the servant girl saw him again, and began to say to those who stood by, "This is one of them."
14:70But he denied it again. And a little later those who stood by said to Peter again, "Surely you are one of them; because, you are a Galilean, and your speech reveals it."
14:71Then he began to curse and swear, saying, "I do not know this Man of whom you speak!"
14:72A second time the rooster crowed. Then Peter called to mind the word that Jesus had said to him, "Before the rooster crows twice, you will deny Me three times." And when he thought about it, he wept.
