Mark - Chapter: 15

>
15:1And immediately, in the morning, the chief priests having made a consultation, with the elders, and scribes, and the whole sanhedrim, having bound Jesus, did lead away, and delivered `him' to Pilate;
15:2and Pilate questioned him, `Art thou the king of the Jews?' and he answering said to him, `Thou dost say `it'.'
15:3And the chief priests were accusing him of many things, `but he answered nothing.'
15:4And Pilate again questioned him, saying, `Thou dost not answer anything! lo, how many things they do testify against thee!'
15:5and Jesus did no more answer anything, so that Pilate wondered.
15:6And at every feast he was releasing to them one prisoner, whomsoever they were asking;
15:7and there was `one' named Barabbas, bound with those making insurrection with him, who had in the insurrection committed murder.
15:8And the multitude having cried out, began to ask for themselves as he was always doing to them,
15:9and Pilate answered them, saying, `Will ye `that' I shall release to you the king of the Jews?'
15:10for he knew that because of envy the chief priests had delivered him up;
15:11and the chief priests did move the multitude, that he might rather release Barabbas to them.
15:12And Pilate answering, again said to them, `What, then, will ye `that' I shall do to him whom ye call king of the Jews?'
15:13and they again cried out, `Crucify him.'
15:14And Pilate said to them, `Why -- what evil did he?' and they cried out the more vehemently, `Crucify him;'
15:15and Pilate, wishing to content the multitude, released to them Barabbas, and delivered up Jesus -- having scourged `him' -- that he might be crucified.
15:16And the soldiers led him away into the hall, which is Praetorium, and call together the whole band,
15:17and clothe him with purple, and having plaited a crown of thorns, they put `it' on him,
15:18and began to salute him, `Hail, King of the Jews.'
15:19And they were smiting him on the head with a reed, and were spitting on him, and having bent the knee, were bowing to him,
15:20and when they `had' mocked him, they took the purple from off him, and clothed him in his own garments, and they led him forth, that they may crucify him.
15:21And they impress a certain one passing by -- Simon, a Cyrenian, coming from the field, the father of Alexander and Rufus -- that he may bear his cross,
15:22and they bring him to the place Golgotha, which is, being interpreted, `Place of a skull;'
15:23and they were giving him to drink wine mingled with myrrh, and he did not receive.
15:24And having crucified him, they were dividing his garments, casting a lot upon them, what each may take;
15:25and it was the third hour, and they crucified him;
15:26and the inscription of his accusation was written above -- `The King of the Jews.'
15:27And with him they crucify two robbers, one on the right hand, and one on his left,
15:28and the Writing was fulfilled that is saying, `And with lawless ones he was numbered.'
15:29And those passing by were speaking evil of him, shaking their heads, and saying, `Ah, the thrower down of the sanctuary, and in three days the builder!
15:30save thyself, and come down from the cross!'
15:31And in like manner also the chief priests, mocking with one another, with the scribes, said, `Others he saved; himself he is not able to save.
15:32The Christ! the king of Israel -- let him come down now from the cross, that we may see and believe;' and those crucified with him were reproaching him.
15:33And the sixth hour having come, darkness came over the whole land till the ninth hour,
15:34and at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a great voice, saying, `Eloi, Eloi, lamma sabachthani?' which is, being interpreted, `My God, my God, why didst Thou forsake me?'
15:35And certain of those standing by, having heard, said, `Lo, Elijah he doth call;'
15:36and one having run, and having filled a spunge with vinegar, having put `it' also on a reed, was giving him to drink, saying, `Let alone, let us see if Elijah doth come to take him down.'
15:37And Jesus having uttered a loud cry, yielded the spirit,
15:38and the veil of the sanctuary was rent in two, from top to bottom,
15:39and the centurion who was standing over-against him, having seen that, having so cried out, he yielded the spirit, said, `Truly this man was Son of God.'
15:40And there were also women afar off beholding, among whom was also Mary the Magdalene, and Mary of James the less, and of Joses, and Salome,
15:41(who also, when he was in Galilee, were following him, and were ministering to him,) and many other women who came up with him to Jerusalem.
15:42And now evening having come, seeing it was the preparation, that is, the fore-sabbath,
15:43Joseph of Arimathea, an honourable counsellor, who also himself was waiting for the reign of God, came, boldly entered in unto Pilate, and asked the body of Jesus.
15:44And Pilate wondered if he were already dead, and having called near the centurion, did question him if he were long dead,
15:45and having known `it' from the centurion, he granted the body to Joseph.
15:46And he, having brought fine linen, and having taken him down, wrapped him in the linen, and laid him in a sepulchre that had been hewn out of a rock, and he rolled a stone unto the door of the sepulchre,
15:47and Mary the Magdalene, and Mary of Joses, were beholding where he is laid.

15:1And anone in ye dawnynge the hye prestes helde counsell wt ye elders and ye scribes and ye whoole cogregacion and bounde Iesus and ledde him awaye and delivered him to Pilate.
15:2And Pilate axed him: arte thou the kynge of the Iewes? And he answered and sayde vnto him: thou sayest it.
15:3And the hye prestes accused him of many thinges.
15:4Wherfore Pilate axed him agayne sayinge: Answerest thou nothinge? Beholde how many thinges they lay vnto thy charge.
15:5Iesus yet answered never aworde so that Pilate merveled.
15:6At that feast Pilate was wont to delivre at their pleasure a presoner: whomsoever they wolde desyre.
15:7And ther was one named Barrabas which laye bounde with the that made insurreccion and in the insurreccion comitted murther.
15:8And ye people called vnto him and began to desyre accordinge as he had ever done vnto them.
15:9Pylate answered them and sayd: Will ye that I lowse vnto you the kynge of the Iewes?
15:10For he knewe that the hye Prestes had delyvered him of envy.
15:11But the hye prestes had moved the people that he shuld rather delyvre Barrabas vnto them.
15:12And Pylate answered agayne and sayd vnto the: What will ye then that I do wt him whom ye call ye kynge of ye Iewes?
15:13And they cryed agayne: crucifie him.
15:14Pylate sayde vnto them: What evell hath he done? And they cryed ye moore fervently: crucifie him.
15:15And so Pylate willinge to content the people lowsed them Barrabas and delyvered Iesus when he had scourged him for to be crucified.
15:16And the souddeers ledde him awaye into ye commen hall and called togedder the whoole multitude
15:17and they clothed him with purple and they platted a croune of thornes and crouned him with all
15:18and beganne to salute him. Hayle kynge of the Iewes.
15:19And they smoote him on the heed wt a rede and spat apon him and kneled doune and worsheped him.
15:20And when they had moocked him they toke the purple of him and put his awne cloothes on him and ledde him oute to crucifie him.
15:21And they compelled one that passed by called Symon of Cyrene (which cam oute of the felde and was father of Alexander and Rufus) to beare his crosse.
15:22And they brought him to a place named Golgotha (which is by interpretacion the place of deed mens scoulles)
15:23and they gave him to drinke wyne myngled with myrte but he receaved it not.
15:24And when they had crucified him they parted his garmentes castinge loottes for them what every man shulde have.
15:25And it was aboute ye thyrde houre and they crucified him.
15:26And the tytle of his cause was wrytten: The kynge of the Iewes.
15:27And they crucified with him two theves: the one on the ryght honde and the other on his lyfte.
15:28And the scripture was fulfilled which sayeth: he was counted amonge the wicked.
15:29And they that went by rayled on him: waggynge their heedes and sayinge: A wretche that destroyest the temple and byldest it in thre dayes:
15:30save thy sylfe and come doune from the crosse.
15:31Lyke wyse also mocked him ye hye preestes amonge them selves with the scribes and sayde: He saved other men him sylfe he cannot save.
15:32Let Christ the kynge of Israel now descende from the crosse that we maye se and beleve. And they that were crucified with him checked him also.
15:33And when the sixte houre was come darknes aroose over all the erth vntyll ye nynthe houre.
15:34And at the nynthe houre Iesus cryed with a loude voyce sayinge: Eloi Eloi lamaasbathani which is yf it be interpreted: my God my God why hast thou forsaken me?
15:35And some of them that stode by when they hearde yt sayde: beholde he calleth for Helyas
15:36And one ran and filled a sponge full of veneger and put it on a rede and gave him to drinke sayinge: let him alone let vs se whether Helyas will come and take him doune.
15:37But Iesus cryed with aloude voyce and gave vp the gooste.
15:38And the vayle of the temple dyd rent in two peces from the toppe to the boottome.
15:39And when the Centurion which stode before him sawe that he so cryed and gave vp the gooste he sayd: truly this man was the sonne of God.
15:40Ther were also wemen a good waye of beholdinge him: amonge whom was Mary Magdalen and Mary the mother of Iames the lytle and of Ioses and Mary Salome
15:41which also when he was in Galile folowed him and ministred vnto him and many other wemen which came vp with him to Hierusalem.
15:42And now when nyght was come (because it was ye even that goeth before ye saboth)
15:43Ioseph of Arimathia a noble councelour which also loked for ye kyngdome of God came and went in booldly vnto Pylate and begged ye boddy of Iesu.
15:44And Pylate merveled that he was alredy deed and called vnto him ye Centurion and axed of him whether he had bene eny whyle deed.
15:45And when he knewe the trueth of the Centurion he gave ye body to Ioseph.
15:46And he bought a lynnen cloothe and toke him doune and wrapped him in ye lynnen cloothe and layde him in a tombe yt was hewen oute of ye rocke and rolled a stone vnto the doze of the sepulcre.
15:47And Mary Magdalen and Mary Ioses beheld where he was layde.

15:1And soone in the mornynge the hye prestes helde a councell wt the elders and scrybes and the whole councell, & bounde Iesus, and led him awaye, and delyuered him vnto Pylate.
15:2And Pylate axed him: Art thou the kynge of the Iewes? He answered, and sayde vnto him: Thou sayest it.
15:3And the hye prestes accused him sore.
15:4But Pylate axed him agayne, and sayde: Answerest thou nothinge? Beholde, how sore they laye to yi charge.
15:5Neuertheles Iesus answered nomore, in so moch yt Pylate marueyled.
15:6At that feast of Easter he was wonte to delyuer vnto them a presoner, whom so euer they wolde desyre.
15:7There was i preson with the sedicious, one called Barrabas, which in the vproure had committed murthur.
15:8And the people wente vp, and prayed him, that he wolde do, as he was wonte.
15:9Pylate answered them: wyl ye that I geue lowse vnto you the kynge of the Iewes?
15:10For he knew, that ye hye prestes had delyuered him of envye.
15:11But the hye prestes moued ye people, that he shulde rather geue Barrabas lowse vnto them.
15:12Pylate answered agayne, and sayde vnto them: What wil ye the that I do vnto him, whom ye accuse to be kynge of the Iewes?
15:13They cried agayne: Crucifie hi.
15:14Pylate sayde vnto the: What euell hath he done? But they cried yet moch more: Crucifie him.
15:15So Pylate thought to satisfie the people, and gaue Barrabas lowse vnto them, and delyuered the Iesus, to be scourgd & crucified.
15:16And the soudyers led him in to the como hall, and called the whole multitude together,
15:17and clothed him with purple, and plated a crowne of thorne, and crowned him withall,
15:18and beganne to salute him: Hayle kynge of the Iewes.
15:19And smote him vpon the heade with a rede, and spytted vpo him, and fell vpo the kne, & worshipped him.
15:20And wha they had mocked him, they toke ye purple of him, and put his clothes vpon him, & led him out, that they might crucifye him.
15:21And they compelled one that passed by, called Symon of Cyren (which came from the felde, and was the father of Alexander and Ruffus) to beare his crosse.
15:22And they brought him to the place Golgatha, which is by interpretacion: a place of deed mens skulles.
15:23And they gaue him wyne myxted wt myrre, to drynke, & he toke it not.
15:24And whan they had crucified him, they parted his garmetes, & cast lottes therfore, what euery one shulde take.
15:25And it was aboute ye thirde houre, & they crucified him.
15:26And the tytle of his cause was wrytte ouer aboue him (namely:) The kynge of the Iewes.
15:27And they crucified him wt two murtherers, one at ye right hande, and one at the left.
15:28Then was the scrypture fulfilled, which sayeth: He was couted amonge the euell doers.
15:29And they that wete by, reuyled him, and wagged their heades, and sayde: Fye vpon the, how goodly breakest thou downe ye teple, & buyldest it agayne in thre dayes?
15:30Helpe yi self now, & come downe fro the crosse.
15:31The hye prestes also in like maner laughed him to scorne amonge the selues, with the scrybes, & sayde: He hath helped other, himself can he not helpe.
15:32Yf he be Christ and ye kynge of Israel, let him come downe now fro the crosse, yt we maye se it, & beleue. And they yt were crucified wt hi, checked hi also.
15:33And wha it was aboute the sixte houre, there was a darcknesse ouer the whole lode, tyll aboute ye nyenth houre.
15:34And aboute ye nyenth houre Iesus cried loude, and sayde: Eli, Eli, lamma asabthani? which is interpreted: My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?
15:35And some that stode by, whan they herde yt, they sayde: Beholde, he calleth Elias.
15:36Then rane there one, & fylled a spoge wt vyneger, & stickte it vpo a rede, & gaue hi to drynke, & sayde: Holde styll, let se, whether Elias wil come, and take him downe.
15:37But Iesus cried loude, and gaue vp the goost.
15:38And the vale of the teple rent in two peces, from aboue tyll beneth.
15:39The captayne that stode thereby ouer agaynst him, wha he sawe yt he gaue vp the goost with soch a crye, he sayde: Verely this man was Gods sonne.
15:40And there were wemen there also, which behelde this afarre of, amoge who was Mary Magdalene, & Mary of Iames ye litle, & the mother of Ioses, & Salome,
15:41which had folowed him wha he was in Galile, and mynistred vnto hi: & many other yt wete vp wt hi to Ierusalem.
15:42And at euen (for so moch as it was the daye of preparinge, which is the fore Sabbath)
15:43there came one Ioseph of Arimathia, a worshipfull Senatoure (which loked also for the kyngdome of God) & wete in boldely vnto Pilate, & axed ye body of Iesus.
15:44But Pylate marueyled yt he was deed all ready, & called ye captayne, & axed hi, whether he had loge bene deed.
15:45And wha he had gotten knowlege of the captayne, he gaue Ioseph ye body.
15:46And he bought a lynne cloth, & toke him downe, & wrapped hi in ye lynne clothe, & layed him in a sepulcre, which was hewe out of a rocke, & rolled a stone before ye dore of ye sepulcre.
15:47But Mary Magdalene and Mary Ioses behelde, where he was layed.
