| 15:1 | And immediately, in the morning, the chief priests having made a consultation, with the elders, and scribes, and the whole sanhedrim, having bound Jesus, did lead away, and delivered `him' to Pilate; |
| 15:2 | and Pilate questioned him, `Art thou the king of the Jews?' and he answering said to him, `Thou dost say `it'.' |
| 15:3 | And the chief priests were accusing him of many things, `but he answered nothing.' |
| 15:4 | And Pilate again questioned him, saying, `Thou dost not answer anything! lo, how many things they do testify against thee!' |
| 15:5 | and Jesus did no more answer anything, so that Pilate wondered. |
| 15:6 | And at every feast he was releasing to them one prisoner, whomsoever they were asking; |
| 15:7 | and there was `one' named Barabbas, bound with those making insurrection with him, who had in the insurrection committed murder. |

| 15:9 | and Pilate answered them, saying, `Will ye `that' I shall release to you the king of the Jews?' |
| 15:10 | for he knew that because of envy the chief priests had delivered him up; |
| 15:11 | and the chief priests did move the multitude, that he might rather release Barabbas to them. |
| 15:12 | And Pilate answering, again said to them, `What, then, will ye `that' I shall do to him whom ye call king of the Jews?' |
| 15:13 | and they again cried out, `Crucify him.' |
| 15:14 | And Pilate said to them, `Why -- what evil did he?' and they cried out the more vehemently, `Crucify him;' |
| 15:15 | and Pilate, wishing to content the multitude, released to them Barabbas, and delivered up Jesus -- having scourged `him' -- that he might be crucified. |
| 15:16 | And the soldiers led him away into the hall, which is Praetorium, and call together the whole band, |
| 15:17 | and clothe him with purple, and having plaited a crown of thorns, they put `it' on him, |
| 15:18 | and began to salute him, `Hail, King of the Jews.' |
| 15:19 | And they were smiting him on the head with a reed, and were spitting on him, and having bent the knee, were bowing to him, |
| 15:20 | and when they `had' mocked him, they took the purple from off him, and clothed him in his own garments, and they led him forth, that they may crucify him. |
| 15:21 | And they impress a certain one passing by -- Simon, a Cyrenian, coming from the field, the father of Alexander and Rufus -- that he may bear his cross, |
| 15:22 | and they bring him to the place Golgotha, which is, being interpreted, `Place of a skull;' |
| 15:23 | and they were giving him to drink wine mingled with myrrh, and he did not receive. |
| 15:24 | And having crucified him, they were dividing his garments, casting a lot upon them, what each may take; |
| 15:25 | and it was the third hour, and they crucified him; |
| 15:26 | and the inscription of his accusation was written above -- `The King of the Jews.' |
| 15:27 | And with him they crucify two robbers, one on the right hand, and one on his left, |
| 15:28 | and the Writing was fulfilled that is saying, `And with lawless ones he was numbered.' |
| 15:29 | And those passing by were speaking evil of him, shaking their heads, and saying, `Ah, the thrower down of the sanctuary, and in three days the builder! |
| 15:30 | save thyself, and come down from the cross!' |
| 15:31 | And in like manner also the chief priests, mocking with one another, with the scribes, said, `Others he saved; himself he is not able to save. |
| 15:32 | The Christ! the king of Israel -- let him come down now from the cross, that we may see and believe;' and those crucified with him were reproaching him. |
| 15:33 | And the sixth hour having come, darkness came over the whole land till the ninth hour, |
| 15:34 | and at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a great voice, saying, `Eloi, Eloi, lamma sabachthani?' which is, being interpreted, `My God, my God, why didst Thou forsake me?' |
| 15:35 | And certain of those standing by, having heard, said, `Lo, Elijah he doth call;' |
| 15:36 | and one having run, and having filled a spunge with vinegar, having put `it' also on a reed, was giving him to drink, saying, `Let alone, let us see if Elijah doth come to take him down.' |
| 15:37 | And Jesus having uttered a loud cry, yielded the spirit, |
| 15:38 | and the veil of the sanctuary was rent in two, from top to bottom, |
| 15:39 | and the centurion who was standing over-against him, having seen that, having so cried out, he yielded the spirit, said, `Truly this man was Son of God.' |

| 15:41 | (who also, when he was in Galilee, were following him, and were ministering to him,) and many other women who came up with him to Jerusalem. |
| 15:42 | And now evening having come, seeing it was the preparation, that is, the fore-sabbath, |
| 15:43 | Joseph of Arimathea, an honourable counsellor, who also himself was waiting for the reign of God, came, boldly entered in unto Pilate, and asked the body of Jesus. |
| 15:44 | And Pilate wondered if he were already dead, and having called near the centurion, did question him if he were long dead, |
| 15:45 | and having known `it' from the centurion, he granted the body to Joseph. |
| 15:46 | And he, having brought fine linen, and having taken him down, wrapped him in the linen, and laid him in a sepulchre that had been hewn out of a rock, and he rolled a stone unto the door of the sepulchre, |
| 15:47 | and Mary the Magdalene, and Mary of Joses, were beholding where he is laid. |

| 15:3 | And the hye prestes accused him of many thinges. |
| 15:4 | Wherfore Pilate axed him agayne sayinge: Answerest thou nothinge? Beholde how many thinges they lay vnto thy charge. |
| 15:5 | Iesus yet answered never aworde so that Pilate merveled. |
| 15:6 | At that feast Pilate was wont to delivre at their pleasure a presoner: whomsoever they wolde desyre. |
| 15:7 | And ther was one named Barrabas which laye bounde with the that made insurreccion and in the insurreccion comitted murther. |
| 15:8 | And ye people called vnto him and began to desyre accordinge as he had ever done vnto them. |
| 15:9 | Pylate answered them and sayd: Will ye that I lowse vnto you the kynge of the Iewes? |
| 15:10 | For he knewe that the hye Prestes had delyvered him of envy. |
| 15:11 | But the hye prestes had moved the people that he shuld rather delyvre Barrabas vnto them. |
| 15:12 | And Pylate answered agayne and sayd vnto the: What will ye then that I do wt him whom ye call ye kynge of ye Iewes? |
| 15:13 | And they cryed agayne: crucifie him. |
| 15:14 | Pylate sayde vnto them: What evell hath he done? And they cryed ye moore fervently: crucifie him. |
| 15:15 | And so Pylate willinge to content the people lowsed them Barrabas and delyvered Iesus when he had scourged him for to be crucified. |
| 15:16 | And the souddeers ledde him awaye into ye commen hall and called togedder the whoole multitude |
| 15:17 | and they clothed him with purple and they platted a croune of thornes and crouned him with all |
| 15:18 | and beganne to salute him. Hayle kynge of the Iewes. |
| 15:19 | And they smoote him on the heed wt a rede and spat apon him and kneled doune and worsheped him. |
| 15:20 | And when they had moocked him they toke the purple of him and put his awne cloothes on him and ledde him oute to crucifie him. |
| 15:21 | And they compelled one that passed by called Symon of Cyrene (which cam oute of the felde and was father of Alexander and Rufus) to beare his crosse. |
| 15:22 | And they brought him to a place named Golgotha (which is by interpretacion the place of deed mens scoulles) |
| 15:23 | and they gave him to drinke wyne myngled with myrte but he receaved it not. |
| 15:24 | And when they had crucified him they parted his garmentes castinge loottes for them what every man shulde have. |
| 15:25 | And it was aboute ye thyrde houre and they crucified him. |
| 15:26 | And the tytle of his cause was wrytten: The kynge of the Iewes. |
| 15:27 | And they crucified with him two theves: the one on the ryght honde and the other on his lyfte. |
| 15:28 | And the scripture was fulfilled which sayeth: he was counted amonge the wicked. |
| 15:29 | And they that went by rayled on him: waggynge their heedes and sayinge: A wretche that destroyest the temple and byldest it in thre dayes: |
| 15:30 | save thy sylfe and come doune from the crosse. |
| 15:31 | Lyke wyse also mocked him ye hye preestes amonge them selves with the scribes and sayde: He saved other men him sylfe he cannot save. |
| 15:32 | Let Christ the kynge of Israel now descende from the crosse that we maye se and beleve. And they that were crucified with him checked him also. |
| 15:33 | And when the sixte houre was come darknes aroose over all the erth vntyll ye nynthe houre. |
| 15:34 | And at the nynthe houre Iesus cryed with a loude voyce sayinge: Eloi Eloi lamaasbathani which is yf it be interpreted: my God my God why hast thou forsaken me? |
| 15:35 | And some of them that stode by when they hearde yt sayde: beholde he calleth for Helyas |
| 15:36 | And one ran and filled a sponge full of veneger and put it on a rede and gave him to drinke sayinge: let him alone let vs se whether Helyas will come and take him doune. |
| 15:37 | But Iesus cryed with aloude voyce and gave vp the gooste. |
| 15:38 | And the vayle of the temple dyd rent in two peces from the toppe to the boottome. |
| 15:39 | And when the Centurion which stode before him sawe that he so cryed and gave vp the gooste he sayd: truly this man was the sonne of God. |
| 15:40 | Ther were also wemen a good waye of beholdinge him: amonge whom was Mary Magdalen and Mary the mother of Iames the lytle and of Ioses and Mary Salome |
| 15:41 | which also when he was in Galile folowed him and ministred vnto him and many other wemen which came vp with him to Hierusalem. |
| 15:42 | And now when nyght was come (because it was ye even that goeth before ye saboth) |
| 15:43 | Ioseph of Arimathia a noble councelour which also loked for ye kyngdome of God came and went in booldly vnto Pylate and begged ye boddy of Iesu. |
| 15:44 | And Pylate merveled that he was alredy deed and called vnto him ye Centurion and axed of him whether he had bene eny whyle deed. |
| 15:45 | And when he knewe the trueth of the Centurion he gave ye body to Ioseph. |
| 15:46 | And he bought a lynnen cloothe and toke him doune and wrapped him in ye lynnen cloothe and layde him in a tombe yt was hewen oute of ye rocke and rolled a stone vnto the doze of the sepulcre. |

| 15:9 | Pylate answered them: wyl ye that I geue lowse vnto you the kynge of the Iewes? |
| 15:10 | For he knew, that ye hye prestes had delyuered him of envye. |
| 15:11 | But the hye prestes moued ye people, that he shulde rather geue Barrabas lowse vnto them. |
| 15:12 | Pylate answered agayne, and sayde vnto them: What wil ye the that I do vnto him, whom ye accuse to be kynge of the Iewes? |

| 15:14 | Pylate sayde vnto the: What euell hath he done? But they cried yet moch more: Crucifie him. |
| 15:15 | So Pylate thought to satisfie the people, and gaue Barrabas lowse vnto them, and delyuered the Iesus, to be scourgd & crucified. |
| 15:16 | And the soudyers led him in to the como hall, and called the whole multitude together, |
| 15:17 | and clothed him with purple, and plated a crowne of thorne, and crowned him withall, |
| 15:18 | and beganne to salute him: Hayle kynge of the Iewes. |
| 15:19 | And smote him vpon the heade with a rede, and spytted vpo him, and fell vpo the kne, & worshipped him. |
| 15:20 | And wha they had mocked him, they toke ye purple of him, and put his clothes vpon him, & led him out, that they might crucifye him. |

| 15:30 | Helpe yi self now, & come downe fro the crosse. |
| 15:31 | The hye prestes also in like maner laughed him to scorne amonge the selues, with the scrybes, & sayde: He hath helped other, himself can he not helpe. |
| 15:32 | Yf he be Christ and ye kynge of Israel, let him come downe now fro the crosse, yt we maye se it, & beleue. And they yt were crucified wt hi, checked hi also. |
| 15:33 | And wha it was aboute the sixte houre, there was a darcknesse ouer the whole lode, tyll aboute ye nyenth houre. |
| 15:34 | And aboute ye nyenth houre Iesus cried loude, and sayde: Eli, Eli, lamma asabthani? which is interpreted: My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? |
| 15:35 | And some that stode by, whan they herde yt, they sayde: Beholde, he calleth Elias. |
| 15:36 | Then rane there one, & fylled a spoge wt vyneger, & stickte it vpo a rede, & gaue hi to drynke, & sayde: Holde styll, let se, whether Elias wil come, and take him downe. |
| 15:37 | But Iesus cried loude, and gaue vp the goost. |
| 15:38 | And the vale of the teple rent in two peces, from aboue tyll beneth. |
| 15:39 | The captayne that stode thereby ouer agaynst him, wha he sawe yt he gaue vp the goost with soch a crye, he sayde: Verely this man was Gods sonne. |
| 15:40 | And there were wemen there also, which behelde this afarre of, amoge who was Mary Magdalene, & Mary of Iames ye litle, & the mother of Ioses, & Salome, |
| 15:41 | which had folowed him wha he was in Galile, and mynistred vnto hi: & many other yt wete vp wt hi to Ierusalem. |
| 15:42 | And at euen (for so moch as it was the daye of preparinge, which is the fore Sabbath) |
| 15:43 | there came one Ioseph of Arimathia, a worshipfull Senatoure (which loked also for the kyngdome of God) & wete in boldely vnto Pilate, & axed ye body of Iesus. |
| 15:44 | But Pylate marueyled yt he was deed all ready, & called ye captayne, & axed hi, whether he had loge bene deed. |
| 15:45 | And wha he had gotten knowlege of the captayne, he gaue Ioseph ye body. |
| 15:46 | And he bought a lynne cloth, & toke him downe, & wrapped hi in ye lynne clothe, & layed him in a sepulcre, which was hewe out of a rocke, & rolled a stone before ye dore of ye sepulcre. |
