4:1	And Iesus being full of the holy Ghost, returned from Iordane, and was led by the spirit into the wildernesse,
4:2	Being fourtie dayes tempted of the deuil, and in those dayes he did eat nothing: and when they were ended, he afterward hungred.
4:3	And the deuil saide vnto him, If thou be the Sonne of God, command this stone that it be made bread.
4:4	And Iesus answered him, saying, It is written, that man shall not liue by bread alone, but by euery word of God.
4:5	And the deuil taking him vp into an high mountaine, shewed vnto him all the kingdomes of the world in a moment of time.
4:6	And the deuil said vnto him, All this power will I giue thee, and the glory of them; for that is deliuered vnto me, & to whomsoeuer I will, I giue it.
4:7	If thou therefore wilt worship me, all shalbe thine.
4:8	And Iesus answered and said vnto him, Get thee behinde me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him onely shalt thou serue.
4:9	And hee brought him to Hierusalem, and set him on a pinacle of the Temple, and said vnto him, If thou be the Sonne of God, cast thy selfe downe from hence.
4:10	For it is written, He shall giue his Angels charge ouer thee, to keepe thee.
4:11	And in their handes they shall beare thee vp, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.
4:12	And Iesus answering, said vnto him, It is said, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.
4:13	And when the deuil had ended all the temptation, hee departed from him for a season.
4:14	And Iesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee, and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about.
4:15	And hee taught in their Synagogues, being glorified of all.
4:16	And hee came to Nazareth, where he had bene brought vp, and as his custome was, he went into the Synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood vp for to reade.
4:17	And there was deliuered vnto him the booke of the Prophet Esaias, and when he had opened the Booke, he found the place where it was written,
4:18	The Spirit of the Lord is vpon mee, because hee hath anointed mee, to preach the Gospel to the poore, he hath sent mee to heale the broken hearted, to preach deliuerance to the captiues, and recouering of sight to the blinde, to set at libertie them that are bruised,
4:19	To preach the acceptable yeere of the Lord.
4:20	And he closed the booke, and hee gaue it againe to the minister, and sate downe: and the eyes of all them that were in the Synagogue were fastened on him.
4:21	And hee began to say vnto them, This day is this Scripture fulfilled in your eares.
4:22	And all bare him witnesse, and wondered at the gracious wordes, which proceeded out of his mouth. And they said, Is not this Iosephs sonne?
4:23	And hee said vnto them, Yee will surely say vnto me this prouerbe, Physition, heale thy selfe: Whatsoeuer wee haue heard done in Capernaum, doe also here in thy countrey.
4:24	And hee said, Verely I say vnto you, no Prophet is accepted in his owne countrey.
4:25	But I tell you of a trueth, many widowes were in Israel in the dayes of Elias, when the heauen was shut vp three yeres and sixe moneths: when great famine was throughout all the land:
4:26	But vnto none of them was Elias sent, saue vnto Sarepta a citie of Sidon, vnto a woman that was a widow.
4:27	And many lepers were in Israel in the time of Elizeus the Prophet: and none of them was cleansed, sauing Naaman the Syrian.
4:28	And all they in the Synagogue, when they heard these things, were filled with wrath,
4:29	And rose vp, and thrust him out of the citie, & led him vnto the brow of the hill (whereon their city was built) that they might cast him downe headlong.
4:30	But he passing thorow the mids of them, went his way:
4:31	And came downe to Capernaum, a citie of Galile, and taught them on the Sabbath dayes.
4:32	And they were astonished at his doctrine: for his worde was with power.
4:33	And in the Synagogue there was a man which had a spirit of an vncleane deuill, and cryed out with a loud voice,
4:34	Saying, Let vs alone, what haue wee to doe with thee, thou Iesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy vs? I know thee who thou art, the Holy One of God.
4:35	And Iesus rebuked him, saying, Holde thy peace, and come out of him. And when the deuill had throwen him in the middes, hee came out of him, and hurt him not.
4:36	And they were all amazed, and spake among themselues, saying, What a word is this? for with authoritie and power hee commaundeth the vncleane spirits, and they come out.
4:37	And the fame of him went out into euery place of the countrey round about.
4:38	And he arose out of the Synagogue, and entred into Simons house: and Simons wiues mother was taken with a great feuer, and they besought him for her.
4:39	And he stood ouer her, and rebuked the feuer, & it left her. And immediatly she arose, & ministred vnto them.
4:40	Now when the Sunne was setting, all they that had any sicke with diuers diseases, brought them vnto him: and hee laid his handes on euery one of them, and healed them.
4:41	And deuils also came out of many, crying out, and saying, Thou art Christ the Sonne of God. And hee rebuking them, suffered them not to speake: for they knewe that hee was Christ.
4:42	And when it was day, he departed, and went into a desert place: and the people sought him, and came vnto him, and stayed him, that he should not depart from them.
4:43	And hee said vnto them, I must preach the kingdome of God to other cities also: for therefore am I sent.
4:44	And hee preached in the Synagogues of Galile.

4:14	And Iesus returned by the power of the spirite into Galile: and there went a fame of him throughout all the region round about.
4:15	For he taught in their Synagogues, and was honoured of all men.
4:16	And hee came to Nazareth where hee had bene brought vp, and (as his custome was) went into the Synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stoode vp to reade.
4:17	And there was deliuered vnto him the booke of the Prophet Esaias: and when hee had opened the booke, hee founde the place, where it was written,

4:34	Saying, Oh, what haue we to doe with thee, thou Iesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy vs? I know who thou art, euen the holy one of God.
4:35	And Iesus rebuked him, saying, Holde thy peace, and come out of him. Then the deuill throwing him in the middes of them, came out of him, and hurt him nothing at all.
4:36	So feare came on them all, and they spake among themselues, saying, What thing is this: for with authoritie and power he commaundeth the foule spirits, and they come out?
4:37	And ye fame of him spred abroad throughout all the places of the countrey round about.
4:38	And he rose vp, and came out of the Synagogue, and entred into Simons house. And Simons wiues mother was taken with a great feuer, and they required him for her.
4:39	Then he stoode ouer her, and rebuked the feuer, and it left her, and immediatly she arose, and ministred vnto them.
4:40	Now at the sunne setting, all they that had sicke folkes of diuers diseases, brought them vnto him, and he layd his hands on euery one of them, and healed them.
4:41	And deuils also came out of many, crying, and saying, Thou art that Christ that Sonne of God: but he rebuked them, and suffered them not to say that they knewe him to be that Christ.
4:42	And when it was day, he departed, and went foorth into a desart place, and the people sought him, and came to him, and kept him that he should not depart from them.
4:43	But he sayd vnto them, Surely I must also preach the kingdome of God to other cities: for therefore am I sent.
4:44	And hee preached in the Synagogues of Galile.

4:6	And the deuyll sayde vnto him: all this power will I geue the euery whit, & the glory of them: for they are delyuered vnto me, and to whomsoeuer I wyll, I geue it.
4:7	If thou therfore wyll falt downe before me & worshyp me, they shalbe all thyne.
4:8	Iesus answered and sayde vnto him: hence from me Satan. For it is wrytten Thou shalt worshyp the Lorde thy God, and him onely shalt thou serue.
4:9	And he caryed him to Ierusalem, and set him on a pynacle of the temple, and sayd vnto him: Yf thou be the sonne of God, cast thy selfe downe from hens.
4:10	For it is wrytten: he shall geue his Angels charge ouer the, to kepe the,
4:11	and in their handes they shall beare the vp, that thou dasshe not thy fote agaynst a stone.
4:12	And Iesus answered, and sayde vnto hym, it is sayd: thou shalt not tempte the Lorde thy God.
4:13	And as sone as all the tentacion was ended, the deuell departed from him for a season.
4:14	And Iesus returned by the power of the sprete, into Galile, and there went a fame of him thorow out all the region.
4:15	And he taught in theyr synagoges and was commended of all men.
4:16	And he came to Nazareth where he was noursed and (as hys custome was) he went into the synagoge on the Saboth daye, and stode vp for to reade.
4:17	And there was delyuered vnto hym the boke of the prophete Esayas. And when he had opened the boke, he founde the place, where it was wryten.
4:18	The sprete of the Lord vpon me, because he hath annoynted me: to preache the Gospell to the pore he hath sent me: to heale the broken harted, to preach delyueraunce to the captyue, & syght to the blynde: frely to set at liberte them that are brosed,
4:19	and to preach the acceptable yeare of the Lorde.
4:20	And he closed the boke, and gaue it agayne to the minyster, and sate downe. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagoge, were fastened on him.
4:21	And he began to saye vnto them: Thys daye is thys scripture fulfylled in your eares.

4:23	And he sayd vnto them: Ye wyll vtterly saye vnto me this prouerbe: Phisicion, heale thy selfe. Whatsoeuer we haue heard done in Capernaum, do the same here lykewise in thyne awne countre.
4:24	And he sayde: Uerely I saye vnto you: No prophete is accepted in hys awne countre.
4:25	But I tell you of a treuth: many weddowes were in Israel in the daies of Helias when heauen was shut thre yeares and syxe monethes, when greate famyshment was throughout all the lande,
4:26	and vnto no one of them was Helias sent, saue into Sarepta besydes Sidon, vnto a woman that was a wedowe.

4:32	And they were astonyed at his doctryne: for his preaching was with power.
4:33	And in the synagoge there was a man which had an vncleane sprete of a deuyll, and cryed with a loude voyce,
4:34	sayenge: let me alone, what hast thou to do with vs, thou Iesus of Nazareth? Art thou come to destroye vs? I knowe the what thou art, euen the holy of God.
4:35	And Iesus rebuked him, sayinge: holde thy peace, and come out of hym. And whan the deuyll had throwen hym in the myddes, he came out of him, and hurt him not.
4:36	And feare cam on them all, and they spake among them selues, sayinge: what maner a thing is thys? For with auctorite & power he commaundeth the foules spretes, and they come oute?
4:37	And the fame of hym was spred abrode thorowe out euery place of the countre rounde aboute.
4:38	And whan he was rysen vp & come out of the synagoge, he entred into Simons house. And Simons mother in lawe was taken with a great feuer, and they made intercession to hym for her.
4:39	And he stode ouer her, and rebuked the feuer, and the feuer left her. And immedyatly she arose, and mynistred vnto them.
4:40	When the sonne was downe, all they that had syck, taken with diuers diseases, brought them vnto hym: and he layde hys handes on euery one of them, and healed them.
4:41	And deuyls also came out of many, crying & saieng: thou art Christ the sonne of God. And he rebuked them, and suffered them not to speake: for they knewe that he was Christ.
4:42	As sone as it was daye, he departed, and went into a desert place, & the people sought him, and came to hym, and kept hym that he shulde not departe from them.
4:43	And he sayde vnto them: I must preach the kyngdome of God to other cyties also: for therfore am I sent.
4:44	And he preached in the synagoges of Galile
