8:1	And it fortuned afterwarde, that he hym selfe also wente through oute cyties and townes: preachinge, and shewynge the kyngdome of God, and the twelue with hym.
8:2	And also certayne women, which were healed of euell spretes, and infirmytes. Mary which is called Magdalen (oute of whom wente seuen deuyls)
8:3	and Ioanna the wyfe of Chusa. Herodes stewarde, and Susanna, and many other, which minystred vnto hym of theyr substaunce.
8:4	When moch people were gathered together, and were come to him out of all cytes, he spake by a similytude.
8:5	The sower wente out to sowe hys seede: and as he sowed, some fell by the waye syde, & it was troden downe, and the foules of the ayre deuoured it vp.
8:6	And some fell on stone, and as sone as it was spronge vp, it withred awaye because it lacked moystnes.
8:7	And some fell amonge thornes, and the thornes sprange vp with it, and choked it.
8:8	And some fel on good grounde, and sprange vp, and bare frute, an hundred folde. And as he sayd these thinges, he cryed: He that hath eares to heare, let hym heare.
8:9	And his disciples asked hym sayenge: what maner of simylytude is thys?
8:10	And he sayd: vnto you is it geuen to knowe the secretes of the kingdome of God: but to other by parables, that when they se, they shuld not se: & when they heare, they shuld not vnderstande.
8:11	The parable is this. The seed is the worde of God.
8:12	Those that are besyde the waye, are they that heare, then commeth the deuyll, and taketh a waye the worde out of their hertes, lest they shulde beleue and be saued.
8:13	They on the stones, are they which when they heare, receaue the word with ioye, and these haue no rotes: which for a whyle beleue, and in tyme of temptacyon go awaye.
8:14	And that which fell amonge thornes, are they which whan they haue heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and ryches, and volupteous lyuinge, and brynge forth no frute.
8:15	That which fell in the good grounde, are they, which with a pure and good herte heare the worde, and kepe it, and brynge forth frute thorow pacyence.
8:16	No man, whan he lyghteth a candell, couereth it with a vessel, or putteth it vnder a table, but setteth it on a candelsticke, that they which enter in, maye se the light.
8:17	Nothing is in secret, that shal not come abrode. Nether any thynge hydd, that shall not be knowen, and come to lyghte.
8:18	Take hede therfore, howe ye heare. For whosoeuer hath, to hym shalbe geuen: And whosoeuer hath not, from him shalbe taken: euen that same which he supposeth that he hath.
8:19	Then came to him his mother & his brethren, and coulde not come at him for prease
8:20	And it was tolde hym, and sayde: Thy mother and thy brethren stande without, and wold se the.
8:21	He answered and said vnto them: my mother and my brethren are these, which heare the worde of God, and do it.
8:22	And it chaunsed on a certayne daye, that he went into a shyp, and his disciples also, & he sayde vnto them: Let vs go ouer vnto the other side of the lake. And they launched forth
8:23	But as they sayled, he fell a slepe and there arose a storme of wynde in the lake, & they were fylled wt water, and were in ieopardy.
8:24	And they came to hym, and awoke hym saying: Master master, we are loost. Then he arose, and rebuked the wynde and the tempest of water, and they ceased, and it wexed calme.
8:25	And he sayde vnto them: where is youre fayth? They feared, and wondred amonge them selues, saying: what (thynke ye) is thys? for he commaundeth both the windes & water, and they obey hym?
8:26	And they sayled vnto the region of the Gederenites, which is ouer agaynst Galile.
8:27	And whan he went out to land, ther met him out of the cytie a certayne man, which had a deuyll longe tyme, and ware no clothes, nether abode in eny house: but in graues.
8:28	When he sawe Iesus & had cryed, he fell downe before him, & wt a loude voyce sayde. What haue I to do with the Iesus, thou sonne of the God moost hyest? I beseche the torment me not:
8:29	for he commaunded the foule sprete to come oute of the man. For ofte tymes he had caught hym, and he was bounde with chaynes, and kepte with fetters: and he brake the bondes, and was caryed of the fende into wyldernes.
8:30	And Iesus asked him saieng: What is thy name? And he sayde: Legion, because many deuyls were entred into hym.
8:31	And they besought hym that he wolde not commaunde them, to go out into the depe.
8:32	And there was there, an heard of many swyne, feding on an hyll: and they besought him, that he wold suffre them to enter into them. And he suffred them.
8:33	Then went the deuels out of the man, & entred into the swyne. And the heard ranne heedlyng with violence into the lake, and were choked.
8:34	When the herdmen sawe what had chaunsed, they fled, and tolde it in the cytie & in the villages.
8:35	And they came out to se what was done: and came to Iesus, & founde the man (out of whom the deuyls were departed) sittyng at the fete of Iesus: clothed, & in his right mynde, and they were afrayed.
8:36	They also which sawe it, tolde them by what meanes he (that was possessed of the deuyl) was healed.
8:37	And all the multitude of the Gederenites, besought him, that he wold departe from them: for they were taken with great feare. And he gate him vp into the shyp, and returned backe agayne.
8:38	Then the man (out of whom the deuyls were departed) besought hym that he myght be with hym. But Iesus sent him awaye, sayinge:
8:39	Go home agayne to thyne awne house, and shewe what thinges soeuer God hath done for the. And he went his waye, and preached thorow out all the cytie, what thinges soeuer Iesus had done vnto him.
8:40	And it fortuned that when Iesus was come agayne, the people receaued him. For they all wayted for him.
8:41	And beholde, there came a man named Iairus (& he was a ruler of the synagoge) & he fell downe at Iesus fete praying him, that he wold come into his house,
8:42	for he had but one daughter onely, vpon a .xij. yeare of age, and she laye a dying. But as he went, the people thronged hym.
8:43	And a woman, hauing an issue of bloud .xij. yeres (which had spent all her substaunce vpon phisicions, nether coulde be holpen of eny)
8:44	came behynd him, & touched the hem of his rayment: & immediatly her issue of bloud staunched.
8:45	And Iesus sayd: who is it that touched me? When euery man denyed, Peter (and they that were wt hym) sayd: Master, the people thrust the & vexe the, & sayest thou who touched me?
8:46	And Iesus sayd: Some body hath touched me. For I perceaue, that vertue is gone out of me.
8:47	When the woman sawe that she was not hyd, she came trymbling, and fell at hys fete, and tolde hym before all the people, for what cause she had touched him, and how she was healed immediatly.
8:48	And he sayd vnto her: Daughter, be of good comforte. Thy fayth hath saued the, go in peace.
8:49	Whyle he yet spake, ther came one from the rulers of the synagoges house, which sayd to hym: thy daughter is deed, desease not the Master.
8:50	But when Iesus hearde that worde, he answered the father of the damosell. Feare not, beleue onely, and she shalbe made whole.
8:51	And when he came to the house, he suffred no man to go in with hym, saue Peter, Iames, and Iohn, and the father and the mother of the mayden.
8:52	Euery body weept, and sorowed for her. And he said: Wepe not. The damosel is not deed, but slepeth.
8:53	And they laught hym to scorne, knowyng that she was deed.
8:54	And he thrust them all out, and caught her by the hand, and cryed, sayinge: Mayde, aryse.
8:55	And her sprete came agayne, and she rose straight waye. And he commaunded to geue her meat.
8:56	And the father & the mother of her were astonyed. But he warned them, that they shuld tell no man what was done.


8:1	And it was don aftirward, and Jhesus made iourney bi citees and castels, prechynge and euangelisynge the rewme of God, and twelue with hym;
8:2	and sum wymmen that weren heelid of wickid spiritis and sijknessis, Marie, that is clepid Maudeleyn, of whom seuene deuelis wenten out,
8:3	and Joone, the wijf of Chuse, the procuratoure of Eroude, and Susanne, and many othir, that mynystriden to hym of her ritchesse.
8:4	And whanne myche puple was come togidir, and men hiyeden to hym fro the citees, he seide bi a symylitude,
8:5	He that sowith, yede out to sowe his seed. And while he sowith, sum fel bisidis the weie, and was defoulid, and briddis of the eir eten it.
8:6	And othir fel on a stoon, and it sprunge vp, and driede, for it hadde not moysture.
8:7	And othir fel among thornes, and the thornes sprongen vp togider, and strangliden it
8:8	And othir fel in to good erthe, and it sprungun made an hundrid foold fruyt. He seide these thingis, and criede, He that hath eeris of heryng, here he.
8:9	But hise disciplis axiden him, what this parable was.
8:10	And he seide to hem, To you it is grauntid to knowe the pryuete of the kyngdom of God; but to othir men in parablis, that thei seynge se not, and thei herynge vndurstonde not.
8:11	The seed is Goddis word;
8:12	and thei that ben bisidis the weie, ben these that heren; and aftirward the feend cometh, and takith awei the word fro her herte, lest thei bileuynge be maad saaf.
8:13	But thei that fel on a stoon, ben these that whanne thei han herd, resseyuen the word with ioye. And these han not rootis; for at a tyme thei bileuen, and in tyme of temptacioun thei goen awei.
8:14	But that that fel among thornes, ben these that herden, and of bisynessis, and ritchessis, and lustis of lijf thei gon forth, and ben stranglid, and bryngen forth no fruyt.
8:15	But that that fel in to good erthe, ben these that, in a good herte, and best heren the word, and holdun, and brengen forth fruyt in pacience.
8:16	No man lityneth a lanterne, and hilith it with a vessel, or puttith it vndur a bed, but on a candilstike, that men that entren seen liyt.
8:17	For ther is no priuei thing, which schal not be openyd, nether hid thing, which schal not be knowun, and come in to open.
8:18	Therfor se ye, hou ye heren; for it schal be youun to hym that hath, and who euer hath not, also that that he weneth that he haue, schal be takun awei fro hym.
8:19	And his modir and britheren camen to hym; and thei myyten not come to hym for the puple.
8:20	And it was teeld to hym, Thi modir and thi britheren stonden with outforth, willynge to se thee.
8:21	And he answeride, and seide to hem, My modir and my britheren ben these, that heren the word of God, and doon it.
8:22	And it was don in oon of daies, he wente vp in to a boot, and hise disciplis. And he seide to hem, Passe we ouer the see. And thei wenten vp.
8:23	And while thei rowiden, he slepte. And a tempest of wynde cam doun in to the watir, and thei weren dryuun hidur and thidur with wawis, and weren in perel.
8:24	And thei camen nyy, and reisiden hym, and seiden, Comaundoure, we perischen. And he roos, and blamyde the wynde, and the tempest of the watir; and it ceesside, and pesibilte was maad.
8:25	And he seide to hem, Where is youre feith? Which dredynge wondriden, and seiden togidir, Who, gessist thou, is this? for he comaundith to wyndis and to the see, and thei obeien to hym.
8:26	And thei rowiden to the cuntree of Gerasenus, that is ayens Galilee.
8:27	And whanne he wente out to the loond, a man ran to hym, that hadde a deuel long tyme, and he was not clothid with cloth, nether dwellide in hous, but in sepulcris.
8:28	This, whanne he saiy Jhesu, fel doun bifor hym, and he criynge with a greet vois seide, What to me and to thee, Jhesu, the sone of the hiyest God? Y biseche thee, that thou turmente `not me.
8:29	For he comaundide the vncleene spirit, that he schulde go out fro the man. For he took hym ofte tymes, and he was boundun with cheynes, and kept in stockis, and, whanne the boondis weren brokun, he was lad of deuelis in to desert.
8:30	And Jhesus axide hym, and seide, What name is to thee? And he seide, A legioun; for many deuelis weren entrid in to hym.
8:31	And thei preyden hym, that he schulde not comaunde hem, that thei schulden go in to helle.
8:32	And there was a flok of many swyne lesewynge in an hil, and thei preieden hym, that he schulde suffre hem to entre in to hem. And he suffride hem.
8:33	And so the deuelis wenten out fro the man, and entriden in to the swyne; and with a birre the flok wente heedlyng in to the pool, and was drenchid.
8:34	And whanne the hirdis sayn this thing don, thei flowen, and tolden in to the cite, and in to the townes.
8:35	And thei yeden out to se that thing that was don. And thei camen to Jhesu, and thei founden the man sittynge clothid, fro whom the deuelis wenten out, and in hool mynde at hise feet; and thei dredden.
8:36	And thei that sayn tolden to hem, hou he was maad hool of the legioun.
8:37	And al the multitude of the cuntre of Gerasenus preiede hym, that he schulde go fro hem, for thei werun holdun with greet drede. He wente vp in to a boot, and turnede ayen.
8:38	And the man of whom the deuelis weren gon out, preide hym, that he schulde be with hym. Jhesus lefte hym,
8:39	and seide, Go ayen in to thin hous, and telle hou grete thingis God hath don to thee. And he wente thorow al the cite, and prechide, hou grete thingis Jhesus hadde don to hym.
8:40	And it was don, whanne Jhesus was gon ayen, the puple resseyuede hym; for alle weren abidynge hym.
8:41	And lo! a man, to whom the name was Jayrus, and he was prynce of a synagoge; and he fel doun at the feet of Jhesu, and preiede hym, that he schulde entre in to his hous,
8:42	for he hadde but o douyter `almost of twelue yeer eelde, and sche was deed. And it bifel, the while he wente, he was thrungun of the puple.
8:43	And a womman that hadde a flux of blood twelue yeer, and hadde spendid al hir catel in leechis, and sche miyte not be curid of ony,
8:44	and sche cam nyy bihynde, and touchide the hem of his cloth, and anoon the fluxe of hir blood ceesside.
8:45	And Jhesus seide, Who is that touchide me? And whanne alle men denyeden, Petre seide, and thei that weren with hym, Comaundour, the puple thristen, and disesen thee, and thou seist, Who touchide me?
8:46	And Jhesus seide, Summan hath touchid me, for that vertu yede out of me.
8:47	And the womman seynge, that it was not hid fro hym, cam tremblynge, and fel doun at hise feet, and for what cause sche hadde touchid hym sche schewide bifor al the puple, and hou anoon sche was helid.
8:48	And he seide to hir, Douytir, thi feith hath maad thee saaf; go thou in pees.
8:49	And yit while he spak, a man cam fro the prince of the synagoge, and seide to hym, Thi douytir is deed, nyle thou trauel the maister.
8:50	And whanne this word was herd, Jhesus answeride to the fadir of the damysel, Nyle thou drede, but bileue thou oonli, and sche schal be saaf.
8:51	And whanne he cam to the hous, he suffride no man to entre with hym, but Petir and Joon and James, and the fadir and the modir of the damysel.
8:52	And alle wepten, and biweileden hir. And he seide, Nyle ye wepe, for the damysel is not deed, but slepith.
8:53	And thei scorneden hym, and wisten that sche was deed.
8:54	But he helde hir hoond, and criede, and seide, Damysel, rise vp.
8:55	And hir spirit turnede ayen, and sche roos anoon. And he comaundide to yyue to hir to ete.
8:56	And hir fadir and modir wondriden greetli; and he comaundide hem, that thei schulden not seie to ony that thing that was don.

8:10	And he sayd, Vnto you it is giuen to know the secrets of ye kingdome of God, but to other in parables, that when they see, they shoulde not see, and when they heare, they should not vnderstand.
8:11	This is the parable: The sede is the worde of God:
8:12	As for those that are by ye waye syde, they are they that heare it, afterwarde commeth the deuell, and taketh awaye the worde out of their hertes, that they shulde not beleue, and be saued.
8:13	But they on ye stone, are soch as whan they heare it, receaue the worde with ioye, and these haue no rote: they beleue for a whyle, and in the tyme of temptacion they fall awaye.
8:14	As for it that fel amonge the thornes, are soch as heare it, and go forth amonge the cares, riches and volupteousnesses of this life, and are choked and brynge forth no frute.
8:15	But that on the good grounde, are they that heare the worde, and kepe it in a pure good hert, and brynge forth frute in pacience.
8:16	No man lighteth a cadell, and couereth it with a vessell, or putteth it vnder a table, but setteth it vpon a candelsticke, that soch as go in maye se light.
8:17	For there is nothinge hyd, that shal not be openly shewed: and there is nothinge secrete, that shal not be knowne, and come to light.
8:18	Take hede therfore how ye heare. For who so hath, vnto him shalbe geue: but who so hath not, from him shalbe taken awaye, eue the same that he thynketh to haue.
8:19	There wente vnto him his mother and his brethren, and coude not come at him for the people.
8:20	And it was tolde him. Thy mother and thy brethren stonde without, and wolde se the.
8:21	But he answered, & sayde vnto the: My mother and my brethren are these, which heare the worde of God, and do it.
8:22	And it fortuned vpon a certayne daye, yt he wente in to a shippe, and his disciples wt him, & he sayde vnto the: Let vs passe ouer to the other syde of ye lake. And they thurst of fro the lode.
8:23	And as they sayled, he slepte. And there came a storme of wynde vpon ye lake, and the wawes fell vpon the, and they stode in greate ioperdy.
8:24	Then wete they vnto him, and waked him vp, & sayde: Master master, we perishe. Then he arose, and rebuked the wynde, and the tepest of water, and they ceassed, and it waxed calme.
8:25	But he sayde vnto the: Where is youre faith? Neuertheles they were afrayed, and wodred, and sayde one to another: What is he this? For he comaundeth the wyndes and the water, and they are obedient vnto him.
8:26	And they sayled forth in to the countre of the Gadarenites, which is ouer agaynst Galile.
8:27	And whan he wente out to londe, there met him out of ye cite a ma, which had a deuell longe tyme, & ware no clothes, & taried in no house, but in the graues.
8:28	Neuertheles wha he sawe Iesus, he cried, and fell downe before him, and cried loude, & sayde: What haue I to do with the Iesus, thou sonne of the Hyest God? I beseke the, that thou wilt not tormete me.
8:29	For he comaunded the foule sprete, that he shulde departe out of the ma, for he had plaged hi a loge season. And he was bounde with cheynes, and kepte wt fetters, and he brake the bondes in sonder, and was caried of the deuell in to the wyldernesse.
8:30	And Iesus axed him, and sayde: What is thy name? He sayde: Legion. For there were many deuels entred in to him.
8:31	And they besought him, that he wolde not comaunde the to go in to the depe.
8:32	But there was there a greate heerd of swyne fedynge vpon the mountayne, and they besought him, that he wolde geue them leue, to entre in to ye same. And he gaue the leue.
8:33	Then departed ye deuels out of the ma, and entred into the swyne. And the heerd russhed headlynges with a storme in to the lake, and were drowned.
8:34	But wha ye herdmen sawe what had chaunsed, they fled, and tolde it in the cite and in the vyllagies.
8:35	Then wente they out, for to se what was done, and came to Iesus, and founde the ma (out of whom the deuyls were departed) syttinge at Iesus fete, clothed, and in his right mynde, and they were afrayed.
8:36	And they yt had sene it, tolde the how the possessed was healed.
8:37	And the whole multitude of ye countre of the Gadarenites besought him, that he wolde departe from them, for there was a greate feare come vpon the. And he gat him in to ye shippe, and turned agayne.
8:38	And the man out of who the deuels were departed, besought him, yt he might be with him. But Iesus sent him awaye, and sayde:
8:39	Go home agayne, and shewe how greate thinges God hath done for the. And he wente his waye, & preached thorow out all ye cite, how greate thinges Iesus had done for hi.
8:40	And it fortuned wha Iesus came agayne, the people receaued him, for they wayted for him.
8:41	And beholde, there came a man named Iairus (and he was a ruler of the synagoge) and fell at Iesus fete, & besought him, that he wolde come in to his house.
8:42	For he had but one doughter (vpon a twolue yeare of age) and she laye at ye poynt of death. And as he wente, the people thronged him.
8:43	And a woma hauynge the bloudyssue twolue yeares, (which had spent all hir substaunte vpon phisicians, and coude be healed of none)
8:44	came behynde, & touched the hemme of his garmet, and immediatly hir yssue of bloude was staunched.
8:45	And Iesus sayde: Who hath touched me? But whan they all denyed, Peter sayde, and they that were with him: Master, the people thronge the and thrust the, and thou sayest: Who hath touched me?
8:46	Iesus saide: Some body hath touched me, for I fele, that there is vertue gone out fro me.
8:47	But whan the woman sawe that she was not hyd, she came treblynge, and fell downe before him, and tolde him before all the people, for what cause she had touched him, & how she was healed immediatly.
8:48	And he sayde vnto her: Doughter, be of good comforte, thy faith hath made the whole, go thy waye in peace.
8:49	Whyle he yet spake, there came one fro ye ruler of ye synagoges house, and sayde vnto him: Thy doughter is deed, disease not the master.
8:50	Whan Iesus herde that, he answered him, and sayde: Feare not, beleue onely, and she shal be made whole.
8:51	But whan he came in to the house, he suffred no man to go in, saue Peter, and Iames and Iho, and the father and mother of the mayden.
8:52	They wepte all, and sorowed for her. But he sayde: Wepe not, for she is not deed, but slepeth.
8:53	And they laughed hi to scorne, knowynge well that she was deed.
8:54	But he thrust them all out, and toke her by the hande, and cryed, and sayde: Mayde aryse.
8:55	And hir sprete came agayne, & she arose straight waye. And he comaunded to geue her meate.
8:56	And hir elders were astonnyed. But he charged them, that they shulde tell no man, what was done.
