Luke - Chapter: 10

>
10:1After these things the Lord appointed other seventy also, and sent them two and two before his face into every city and place, whither he himself would come.
10:2Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest.
10:3Go your ways: behold, I send you forth as lambs among wolves.
10:4Carry neither purse, nor scrip, nor shoes: and salute no man by the way.
10:5And into whatsoever house ye enter, first say, Peace be to this house.
10:6And if the son of peace be there, your peace shall rest upon it: if not, it shall turn to you again.
10:7And in the same house remain, eating and drinking such things as they give: for the labourer is worthy of his hire. Go not from house to house.
10:8And into whatsoever city ye enter, and they receive you, eat such things as are set before you:
10:9And heal the sick that are therein, and say unto them, The kingdom of God is come nigh unto you.
10:10But into whatsoever city ye enter, and they receive you not, go your ways out into the streets of the same, and say,
10:11Even the very dust of your city, which cleaveth on us, we do wipe off against you: notwithstanding be ye sure of this, that the kingdom of God is come nigh unto you.
10:12But I say unto you, that it shall be more tolerable in that day for Sodom, than for that city.
10:13Woe unto thee, Chorazin! woe unto thee, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works had been done in Tyre and Sidon, which have been done in you, they had a great while ago repented, sitting in sackcloth and ashes.
10:14But it shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the judgment, than for you.
10:15And thou, Capernaum, which art exalted to heaven, shalt be thrust down to hell.
10:16He that heareth you heareth me; and he that despiseth you despiseth me; and he that despiseth me despiseth him that sent me.
10:17And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name.
10:18And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.
10:19Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
10:20Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.
10:21In that hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit, and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes: even so, Father; for so it seemed good in thy sight.
10:22All things are delivered to me of my Father: and no man knoweth who the Son is, but the Father; and who the Father is, but the Son, and he to whom the Son will reveal him.
10:23And he turned him unto his disciples, and said privately, Blessed are the eyes which see the things that ye see:
10:24For I tell you, that many prophets and kings have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them.
10:25And, behold, a certain lawyer stood up, and tempted him, saying, Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?
10:26He said unto him, What is written in the law? how readest thou?
10:27And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.
10:28And he said unto him, Thou hast answered right: this do, and thou shalt live.
10:29But he, willing to justify himself, said unto Jesus, And who is my neighbour?
10:30And Jesus answering said, A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, which stripped him of his raiment, and wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead.
10:31And by chance there came down a certain priest that way: and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side.
10:32And likewise a Levite, when he was at the place, came and looked on him, and passed by on the other side.
10:33But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion on him,
10:34And went to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him.
10:35And on the morrow when he departed, he took out two pence, and gave them to the host, and said unto him, Take care of him; and whatsoever thou spendest more, when I come again, I will repay thee.
10:36Which now of these three, thinkest thou, was neighbour unto him that fell among the thieves?
10:37And he said, He that shewed mercy on him. Then said Jesus unto him, Go, and do thou likewise.
10:38Now it came to pass, as they went, that he entered into a certain village: and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house.
10:39And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus' feet, and heard his word.
10:40But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me.
10:41And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things:
10:42But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.

10:1After these thinges, the Lord appointed other seuentie also, and sent them, two and two before him into euery citie and place, whither he himselfe should come.
10:2And he said vnto them, The haruest is great, but the labourers are fewe: pray therefore the Lord of the haruest to sende foorth labourers into his haruest.
10:3Goe your wayes: beholde, I send you foorth as lambes among wolues.
10:4Beare no bagge, neither scrippe, nor shoes, and salute no man by the way.
10:5And into whatsoeuer house ye enter, first say, Peace be to this house.
10:6And if the sonne of peace be there, your peace shall rest vpon him: if not, it shall turne to you againe.
10:7And in that house tary still, eating and drinking such things as by them shall be set before you: for the labourer is worthy of his wages. Goe not from house to house.
10:8But into whatsoeuer citie ye shall enter, if they receiue you, eate such things as are set before you,
10:9And heale the sicke that are there, and say vnto them, The kingdome of God is come neere vnto you.
10:10But into whatsoeuer citie ye shall enter, if they will not receiue you, goe your wayes out into the streetes of the same, and say,
10:11Euen the very dust, which cleaueth on vs of your citie, we wipe off against you: notwithstanding knowe this, that the kingdome of God was come neere vnto you.
10:12For I say to you, that it shall be easier in that day for them of Sodom, then for that citie.
10:13Woe be to thee, Chorazin: woe be to thee, Beth-saida: for if the miracles had bene done in Tyrus and Sidon, which haue bene done in you, they had a great while agone repented, sitting in sackecloth and ashes.
10:14Therefore it shall be easier for Tyrus, and Sidon, at the iudgement, then for you.
10:15And thou, Capernaum, which art exalted to heauen, shalt be thrust downe to hell.
10:16He that heareth you, heareth me: and he that despiseth you, despiseth me: and he that despiseth me, despiseth him that sent me.
10:17And the seuentie turned againe with ioy, saying, Lord, euen the deuils are subdued to vs through thy Name.
10:18And he said vnto them, I sawe Satan, like lightening, fall downe from heauen.
10:19Beholde, I giue vnto you power to treade on Serpents, and Scorpions, and ouer all the power of the enemie, and nothing shall hurt you.
10:20Neuerthelesse, in this reioyce not, that the spirits are subdued vnto you: but rather reioyce, because your names are written in heauen.
10:21That same houre reioyced Iesus in the spirit, and said, I confesse vnto thee, Father, Lord of heauen and earth, that thou hast hid these things from the wise and vnderstanding, and hast reueiled them to babes: euen so, Father, because it so pleased thee.
10:22All things are giuen me of my Father: and no man knoweth who the Sonne is, but the Father: neither who the Father is, saue the Sonne, and he to whom the Sonne will reueile him.
10:23And he turned to his disciples, and said secretly, Blessed are the eyes, which see that ye see.
10:24For I tell you that many Prophets and Kings haue desired to see those things, which ye see, and haue not seene them: and to heare those things which ye heare, and haue not heard them.
10:25Then beholde, a certaine Lawyer stoode vp, and tempted him, saying, Master, what shall I doe, to inherite eternall life?
10:26And he saide vnto him, What is written in the Lawe? howe readest thou?
10:27And he answered, and saide, Thou shalt loue thy Lord God with all thine heart, and with all thy soule, and with all thy strength, and with all thy thought, and thy neighbour as thy selfe.
10:28Then he said vnto him, Thou hast answered right: this doe, and thou shalt liue.
10:29But he willing to iustifie himselfe, said vnto Iesus, Who is then my neighbour?
10:30And Iesus answered, and saide, A certaine man went downe from Hierusalem to Iericho, and fell among theeues, and they robbed him of his raiment, and wounded him, and departed, leauing him halfe dead.
10:31Nowe so it fell out, that there came downe a certaine Priest that same way, and when he sawe him, he passed by on the other side.
10:32And likewise also a Leuite, when he was come neere to the place, went and looked on him, and passed by on the other side.
10:33Then a certaine Samaritane, as he iourneyed, came neere vnto him, and when he sawe him, he had compassion on him,
10:34And went to him, and bound vp his wounds, and powred in oyle and wine, and put him on his owne beast, and brought him to an Inne, and made prouision for him.
10:35And on the morowe when he departed, he tooke out two pence, and gaue them to the hoste, and said vnto him, Take care of him, and whatsoeuer thou spendest more, when I come againe, I will recompense thee.
10:36Which nowe of these three, thinkest thou, was neighbour vnto him that fell among the theeues?
10:37And he saide, He that shewed mercie on him. Then said Iesus vnto him, Goe, and do thou likewise.
10:38Nowe it came to passe, as they went, that he entred into a certaine towne, and a certaine woman named Martha, receiued him into her house.
10:39And she had a sister called Marie, which also sate at Iesus feete, and heard his preaching.
10:40But Martha was combred about much seruing, and came to him, and saide, Master, doest thou not care that my sister hath left me to serue alone? bid her therefore, that she helpe me.
10:41And Iesus answered, and said vnto her, Martha, Martha, thou carest, and art troubled about many things:
10:42But one thing is needefull, Marie hath chosen the good part, which shall not be taken away from her.

10:1After these thinges the Lorde apoynted other seventie also and sent them two and two before him into every citie and place whither he him silfe wolde come.
10:2And he sayde vnto them the harvest is greate: but the laborers are feawe. Praye therfore the Lorde of ye harvest to send forth laborers into his hervest.
10:3Goo youre wayes: beholde I sende you forthe as lambes amonge wolves.
10:4Beare noo wallet nether scryppe nor shues and salute noo man by the waye.
10:5Into whatsoever housse ye enter fyrst saye: Peace be to this housse.
10:6And yf ye sonne of peace be theare youre peace shall rest vpon him: yf not yt shall returne to you agayne.
10:7And in ye same housse tary still eatinge and drinkinge soche as they have. For the laborer is worthy of his ewarde. Go not fro housse to housse:
10:8and in to whatso ever citye ye enter yf they receave you eate soche thinges as are set before you
10:9and heale the sicke yt are theare and saye vnto them: the kyngdome of God is come nye vpon you.
10:10But into whatsoever citie ye shall enter yf they receave you not goo youre wayes out into the stretes of ye same and saye:
10:11even the very dust which cleaveth on vs of your citie we wipe of agaynst you: Not withstondinge marke this that ye kyngdome of God was come nie vpon you.
10:12Ye and I saye vnto you: that it shalbe easier in that daye for Sodom then for yt cytie.
10:13Wo be to the Chorazin: wo be to ye Bethsaida. For yf ye miracles had bene done in Tyre and Sido which have bene done in you they had a greate whyle agone repeted sitting in heere and asshes.
10:14Neverthelesse it shalbe easier for Tyre and Sidon at the iudgement then for you.
10:15And thou Capernau which art exalted to heave shalt be thrust doune to hell.
10:16He yt heareth you heareth me: and he that dispiseth you despiseth me: and he that dispiseth me despiseth him that sent me.
10:17And the sevetie returned agayne with ioye sayinge: Lorde even the very devyls are subdued to vs thorowe thy name.
10:18And he sayde vnto them: I sawe satan as it had bene lightenyng faule doune fro heave.
10:19Beholde I geve vnto you power to treade on serpetes and scorpions and over all maner power of the enimye and no thinge shall hurte you.
10:20Neverthelesse in this reioyse not that ye spretes are vnder youre power: but reioyse be cause youre names are wrytten in heaven.
10:21That same tyme reioysed Iesus in ye sprete and sayde: I confesse vnto ye father Lorde of heaven and erth yt thou hast hyd these thynges from the wyse and prudent and hast opened them to the babes. Even so father for soo pleased it the.
10:22All thinges are geven me of my father. And no man knoweth who the sonne is but the father: nether who the father is save the sonne and he to who the sonne wyll shewe him.
10:23And he turned to his disciples and sayde secretly: Happy are ye eyes which se yt ye se.
10:24For I tell you that many prophetes and kynges have desired to se those thinges which ye se and have not sene them: and to heare those thinges which ye heare and have not hearde them.
10:25And beholde a certayne Lawere stode vp and tempted him sayinge: Master what shall I do to inheret eternall life?
10:26He sayd vnto him: What is written in the lawe? How redest thou?
10:27And he answered and sayde: Loue thy Lorde God with all thy hert and with all thy soule and with all thy stregthe and with all thy mynde: and thy neghbour as thy sylfe.
10:28And he sayde vnto him: Thou hast answered right. This do and thou shalt live.
10:29He willinge to iustifie him silfe sayde vnto Iesus: Who is then my neghbour?
10:30Iesus answered and sayde: A certayne ma descended fro Hierusalem into Hierico and fell in to the hondes of theves which robbed him of his raymet and wounded him and departed levynge him halfe deed.
10:31And by chaunce ther came a certayne preste that same waye and when he sawe him he passed by.
10:32And lykewyse a Levite when he was come nye to the place wet and loked on him and passed by.

10:41And Iesus answered and sayde vnto her: Martha Martha thou carest and arte troubled about many thinges:
10:42verely one is nedfull. Mary hath chosen her that good parte which shall not be taken awaye from her.
