12:1	In the meane time, when there were gathered together an innumerable multitude of people, insomuch that they trode one vpon another, he began to say vnto his disciples first of all, Beware yee of the leauen of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisie.
12:2	For there is nothing couered, that shall not be reuealed, neither hid, that shall not be knowen.
12:3	Therefore, whatsoeuer yee haue spoken in darkenesse, shall bee heard in the light: and that which yee haue spoken in the eare, in closets, shal be proclaimed vpon the house tops.
12:4	And I say vnto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that, haue no more that they can doe.
12:5	But I will forewarne you whom you shall feare: Feare him, which after he hath killed, hath power to cast into hell, yea, I say vnto you, Feare him.
12:6	Are not fiue sparrowes solde for two farthings, and not one of them is forgotten before God?
12:7	But euen the very haires of your head are all numbred: Feare not therefore, ye are of more value then many sparrowes.
12:8	Also I say vnto you, Whosoeuer shall confesse me before men, him shall the Sonne of man also confesse before the Angels of God.
12:9	But he that denieth me before men, shalbe denied before the Angels of God.
12:10	And whosoeuer shall speake a word against the Sonne of man, it shall be forgiuen him: but vnto him that blasphemeth against the holy Ghost, it shal not be forgiuen.
12:11	And when they bring you vnto the Synagogues, and vnto Magistrates, & powers, take yee no thought how or what thing ye shall answere, or what ye shall say:
12:12	For the holy Ghost shal teach you in the same houre, what ye ought to say.
12:13	And one of the company saide vnto him, Master, speake to my brother, that he diuide the inheritance with me.
12:14	And he said vnto him, Man, who made mee a iudge, or a diuider ouer you?
12:15	And he said vnto them, Take heed and beware of couetousnes: for a mans life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.
12:16	And he spake a parable vnto them, saying, The ground of a certaine rich man brought foorth plentifully.
12:17	And he thought within himselfe, saying, What shall I doe, because I haue no roome where to bestow my fruits?
12:18	And he said, This will I doe, I will pull downe my barnes, and build greater, and there will I bestow all my fruits, and my goods.
12:19	And I will say to my soule, Soule, thou hast much goods layd vp for many yeeres, take thine ease, eate, drinke, and be merry.
12:20	But God said vnto him, Thou foole, this night thy soule shal be required of thee: then whose shal those things be which thou hast prouided?
12:21	So is he that laieth vp treasure for himselfe, and is not rich towards God.
12:22	And he said vnto his disciples, Therefore I say vnto you, Take no thought for your life what yee shall eate, neither for the body what yee shall put on.
12:23	The life is more then meate, and the body is more then raiment.
12:24	Consider the rauens, for they neither sow nor reape, which neither haue storehouse nor barne, and God feedeth them: How much more are yee better then the foules?
12:25	And which of you with taking thought can adde to his stature one cubite?
12:26	If yee then bee not able to doe that thing which is least, why take yee thought for the rest?
12:27	Consider the Lillies how they growe, they toile not; they spinne not: and yet I say vnto you, that Solomon in all his glory, was not arayed like one of these.
12:28	If then God so clothe the grasse, which is to day in the field, and to morrow is cast into the ouen: how much more will he clothe you, O ye of litle faith?
12:29	And seeke not yee what yee shall eate, or what ye shall drinke, neither be ye of doubtfull minde.
12:30	For all these things doe the nations of the world seeke after: and your father knoweth that yee haue neede of these things.
12:31	But rather seeke yee the kingdome of God, and all these things shall be added vnto you.
12:32	Feare not, litle flocke, for it is your fathers good pleasure to giue you the kingdome.
12:33	Sell that yee haue, and giue almes: prouide your selues bagges which waxe not old, a treasure in the heauens that faileth not, where no theefe approcheth, neither moth corrupteth.
12:34	For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
12:35	Let your loines be girded about, and your lights burning,
12:36	And ye your selues like vnto men that waite for their Lord, when he will returne from the wedding, that when he commeth and knocketh, they may open vnto him immediately.
12:37	Blessed are those seruants, whom the Lord when he commeth, shall find watching: Uerily, I say vnto you, That he shall girde himselfe, and make them to sit downe to meate, and will come foorth and serue them.
12:38	And if he shall come in the second watch, or come in the third watch, and find them so, blessed are those seruants.
12:39	And this know, that if the good man of the house had knowen what houre the theefe would come, he would haue watched, and not haue suffred his house to be broken thorow.
12:40	Be yee therefore ready also: for the sonne of man commeth at an houre when yee thinke not.
12:41	Then Peter said vnto him, Lord, speakest thou this parable vnto vs, or euen to all?
12:42	And the Lord said, Who then is that faithfull and wise steward, whom his Lord shall make ruler ouer his houshold, to giue them their portion of meate in due season?
12:43	Blessed is that seruant, whom his Lord when he commeth, shall find so doing.
12:44	Of a trueth, I say vnto you, that hee will make him ruler ouer all that he hath.
12:45	But and if that seruant say in his heart, My Lord delayeth his comming and shall beginne to beat the men seruants, and maidens, and to eate and drinke, and to be drunken:
12:46	The Lord of that seruant will come in a day when hee looketh not for him, and at an houre when hee is not ware, and will cut him in sunder, and will appoint him his portion with the vnbeleeuers.
12:47	And that seruant which knew his Lords will, and prepared not himselfe, neither did according to his will, shalbe beaten with many stripes.
12:48	But hee that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall bee beaten with few stripes. For vnto whomsoeuer much is giuen, of him shal bee much required: and to whom men haue committed much, of him they will aske the more.
12:49	I am come to send fire on the earth, and what will I, if it be already kindled?
12:50	But I haue a baptisme to be baptized with, and how am I straitned till it be accomplished?
12:51	Suppose yee that I am come to giue peace on earth? I tell you, Nay, but rather diuision.
12:52	For from henceforth there shalbe fiue in one house diuided, three against two, and two against three.
12:53	The father shall bee diuided against the sonne, and the sonne against the father: the mother against the daughter, and the daughter against the mother: the mother in lawe against her daughter in lawe, and the daughter in law against her mother in lawe.
12:54	And he said also to the people, When ye see a cloud rise out of the West, straightway yee say, There commeth a showre, and so it is.
12:55	And when ye see the Southwind blow, ye say, There will be heat, and it commeth to passe.
12:56	Ye hypocrites, ye can discerne the face of the skie, and of the earth: but how is it that yee doe not discerne this time?
12:57	Yea, and why euen of your selues iudge ye not what is right?
12:58	When thou goest with thine aduersary to the magistrate, as thou art in the way, giue diligence that thou mayest be deliuered from him, lest hee hale thee to the Iudge, and the Iudge deliuer thee to the officer, and the officer cast thee into prison.
12:59	I tell thee, Thou shalt not depart thence, till thou hast payd the very last mite.

12:11	And when they shall bring you vnto the Synagogues, and vnto the rulers and Princes, take no thought howe, or what thing ye shall answere, or what yee shall speake.
12:12	For the holy Ghost shall teache you in the same houre, what yee ought to say.
12:13	And one of the companie said vnto him, Master, bidde my brother deuide the inheritance with me.
12:14	And he said vnto him, Man, who made me a iudge, or a deuider ouer you?
12:15	Wherefore he said vnto them, Take heede, and beware of couetousnesse: for though a man haue abundance, yet his life standeth not in his riches.
12:16	And he put foorth a parable vnto them, saying, The grounde of a certaine riche man brought foorth fruites plenteously.
12:17	Therefore he thought with himselfe, saying, What shall I doe, because I haue no roume, where I may lay vp my fruites?
12:18	And he said, This wil I do, I wil pul downe my barnes, and builde greater, and therein will I gather all my fruites, and my goods.
12:19	And I wil say to my soule, Soule, thou hast much goods laide vp for many yeeres: liue at ease, eate, drinke and take thy pastime.
12:20	But God said vnto him, O foole, this night wil they fetch away thy soule from thee: then whose shall those things be which thou hast prouided?
12:21	So is he that gathereth riches to himselfe, and is not riche in God.
12:22	And he spake vnto his disciples, Therefore I say vnto you, Take no thought for your life, what yee shall eate: neither for your body, what yee shall put on.
12:23	The life is more then meate: and the body more then the raiment.
12:24	Consider the rauens: for they neither sowe nor reape: which neither haue storehouse nor barne, and yet God feedeth them: how much more are yee better then foules?
12:25	And which of you with taking thought, can adde to his stature one cubite?
12:26	If yee then bee not able to doe the least thing, why take yee thought for the remnant?
12:27	Consider the lilies howe they growe: they labour not, neither spin they: yet I say vnto you, that Salomon himselfe in all his royaltie was not clothed like one of these.
12:28	If then God so clothe the grasse which is to day in the field, and to morowe is cast into the ouen, howe much more will he clothe you, O yee of litle faith?
12:29	Therefore aske not what yee shall eate, or what ye shall drinke, neither hag you in suspense.
12:30	For all such things the people of the world seeke for: and your Father knoweth that ye haue neede of these things.
12:31	But rather seeke ye after the kingdome of God, and all these things shalbe cast vpon you.
12:32	Feare not, litle flocke: for it is your Fathers pleasure, to giue you the kingdome.
12:33	Sell that ye haue, and giue almes: make you bagges, which waxe not old, a treasure that can neuer faile in heauen, where no theefe commeth, neither mothe corrupteth.
12:34	For where your treasure is, there will your hearts be also.
12:35	Let your loynes be gird about and your lights burning,
12:36	And ye your selues like vnto men that waite for their master, when he will returne from the wedding, that when he commeth and knocketh, they may open vnto him immediatly.
12:37	Blessed are those seruants, whom the Lord when he commeth shall finde waking: verely I say vnto you, he will girde himselfe about, and make them to sit downe at table, and will come forth, and serue them.
12:38	And if he come in the seconde watch, or come in the third watch, and shall finde them so, blessed are those seruants.
12:39	Nowe vnderstand this, that if the good man of the house had knowen at what houre the theefe would haue come, he would haue watched, and would not haue suffered his house to be digged through.
12:40	Be ye also prepared therefore: for the Sonne of man will come at an houre when ye thinke not.
12:41	Then Peter saide vnto him, Master, tellest thou this parable vnto vs, or euen to all?
12:42	And the Lord saide, Who is a faithfull steward and wise, whom the master shall make ruler ouer his householde, to giue them their portion of meate in season?
12:43	Blessed is that seruant, whom his master when he commeth, shall finde so doing.
12:44	Of a trueth I say vnto you, that he wil make him ruler ouer all that he hath.
12:45	But if that seruant say in his heart, My master doeth deferre his comming, and ginne to smite the seruants, and maydens, and to eate, and drinke, and to be drunken,
12:46	The master of that seruant will come in a day when he thinketh not, and at an houre when he is not ware of, and will cut him off, and giue him his portion with the vnbeleeuers.
12:47	And that seruant that knewe his masters will, and prepared not himselfe, neither did according to his will, shalbe beaten with many stripes.
12:48	But he that knewe it not, and yet did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with fewe stripes: for vnto whomsoeuer much is giuen, of him shalbe much required, and to whom men much commit, the more of him will they aske.
12:49	I am come to put fire on the earth, and what is my desire, if it be already kindled?
12:50	Notwithstanding I must be baptized with a baptisme, and how am I grieued, till it be ended?
12:51	Thinke ye that I am come to giue peace on earth? I tell you, nay, but rather debate.
12:52	For from hencefoorth there shall be fiue in one house deuided, three against two, and two against three.
12:53	The father shalbe deuided against ye sonne, and the sonne against the father: the mother against the daughter, and the daughter against the mother: the mother in lawe against her daughter in lawe, and the daughter in lawe against her mother in lawe.
12:54	Then said he to the people, When ye see a cloude rise out of the West, straightway ye say, A shower commeth: and so it is.
12:55	And when ye see the South winde blowe, ye say, that it wilbe hoate: and it commeth to passe.
12:56	Hypocrites, ye can discerne the face of the earth, and of the skie: but why discerne ye not this time?
12:57	Yea, and why iudge ye not of your selues what is right?
12:58	While thou goest with thine aduersarie to the ruler, as thou art in the way, giue diligence in the way, that thou mayest be deliuered from him, least he drawe thee to the iudge, and the iudge deliuer thee to the iayler, and the iayler cast thee into prison.
12:59	I tell thee, thou shalt not depart thence, till thou hast payed the vtmost mite.

12:4	I saye vnto you my frendes: be not afrayde of them that kyll the body, and after that haue no moare, that they can do.
12:5	But I will shewe you, whom ye shall feare. Feare him, which after he hath kylled, hath power to cast into hell. Yee, I saye vnto you: feare him.

12:7	Also, euen the very heeres of youre heed are all nombred. Feare not therfore: ye are moare of value then many sparowes.

12:10	And whosoeuer speaketh a worde agaynst the sonne of man, it shalbe forgeuen him. But vnto him that blasphemeth the holy goost, it shall not be forgeuen.
12:11	When they bringe you vnto the sinagoges, and vnto the rulers and officers, take ye no thought, how or what thinge ye shall answer, or what ye shall speake.
12:12	For the holy goost shall teache you in the same houre, what ye ought to saye.

12:14	And he sayde vnto him: Man, who made me a iudge or a deuider, ouer you?

12:18	And he sayd: This will I do. I will destroye my barnes, and bylde greater, and therin will I gather all my goodes that are growen vnto me:
12:19	and I will saye to my soule: Soule thou hast moche goodes layd vp in stoore for many yeares, take thyne ease: eate, drincke, be mery.
12:20	But God sayd vnto him. Thou fole, this nyght will they fetche awaye thy soule agayne from the. Then whose shall those thynges be, which thou hast prouided?
12:21	So is it with him that gathereth riches to him selfe, and is not riche towarde God.
12:22	And he spake vnto his disciples: Therfore I saye vnto you. Take no thought for youre lyfe, what ye shall eate: nether for the body, what ye shall put on.
12:23	The life is moare then meate, and the body is moare then rayment.

12:31	Youre father knoweth, that ye haue neade of soche thinges. Wherfore, seke ye after the kyngdome of God, and all these thinges shalbe ministred vnto you.
12:32	Feare not lytell flocke, for it is youre fathers pleasure, to geue you the kyngdome.
12:33	Sell that ye haue, and geue almes. And prepare you bagges, which wexe not olde, euen a treasure that fayleth not in heauen, where no thefe commeth, nether moth corrupteth.
12:34	For where youre treasure is, there will youre herte be also.
12:35	Let youre loynes be gerd about, & your lightes brenning
12:36	and ye youre selues lyke vnto men that wayte for theyr Lorde, when he will returne from the weddinge: that whan he commeth and knocketh they maye open vnto him immediatly.
12:37	Happy are those seruauntes, whom the Lorde (when he commeth) shall fynde wakynge. Uerely I saye vnto you, that he shall gyrde hym selfe and make them to syt downe to meate, and walke by, and minister vnto them.
12:38	And yf he come in the seconde watch, yee, yf he come in the thirde watch, and fynde them so, happy are those seruauntes.
12:39	This vnderstond, that yf the good man of the house knewe, what houre the thefe wolde come, he wolde suerly watch, and not suffer hys housse to be broken vp.
12:40	Be ye therfore ready also: for the sonne of man will come at an houre when ye thincke not.
12:41	Peter sayde vnto him: Master, tellest thou this similitude vnto vs, or to all men?
12:42	And the Lorde sayde: who is a faythfull and wise stewarde, whom his Lorde shall make ruler ouer his housholde, to geue them their duetie of meat in due season:
12:43	happy is that seruaunt, whom his Lorde when he commeth; shall fynde so doing.
12:44	Of a trueth I saye vnto you, that he will make him ruler ouer all that he hath.
12:45	But and yf the seruaunt saye in his herte. My Lorde will deferre his comminge (and shall beginne to smite seruauntes and maydens, and to eate and drincke, and to be droncken)
12:46	the Lorde of that seruaunt will come in a daye when he thinketh not, and at an houre when he is not ware, and will hewe him in peces, and geue him his rewarde with the vnbeleuers.
12:47	The seruaunt that knewe his masters will and prepared not him selfe, nether dyd accordinge to hys wyll, shalbe beaten with many strypes.
12:48	But he that knewe not, and dyd commytte thynges worthy of strypes, shalbe beaten with fewe strypes. For vnto whomsoeuer moch is geuen, of him shalbe moche requyred. And to whom men haue committed moch: of him wyll they aske the more.
12:49	I am come to sende fyer on erth: & what is my desier, but that it were all readye kindled?
12:50	Not withstandynge I must be baptysed wt a baptime: and how am I payned, tyll it be ended?
12:51	Suppose ye, that I am come to sende peace on erth? I tell you naye, but rather dyuysyon.
12:52	For from hence forth ther shalbe fyue in one housse deuided, thre against two, and two agaynst thre.
12:53	The father shalbe deuided agaynst the sonne, and the sonne agaynst the father. The mother agaynst the daughter, and the daughter agaynst the mother. The mother in lawe agaynst hyr daughter in lawe, and the daughter in lawe, agaynst hyr mother in lawe.
12:54	He sayde also to the people: when ye se a cloude ryse out of the west, strayght waye ye saye: ther commeth a shower, and so it is.
12:55	And when ye se the south wynde blowe, ye saye: it will be hote, and it commeth to passe.
12:56	Ye ypocrytes, ye can discerne the outwarde appearaunce of the skye and of the erthe: but how happeneth it, that ye cannot skyll of this tyme?
12:57	Yee, and why iudge ye not of youre selues what is ryght.
12:58	Whan thou goest with thyne aduersary to the ruler, as thou arte in the waye, geue diligence that thou mayst be deliuered from him, least he brynge the to the iudge, and the iudge delyuer the to the iaylar, and the iaylar cast the into preson.
12:59	I tell the, thou shalt not departe thence, tyll thou haue made good the vtmost myte.
