14:1	And it came to pass, as he went into the house of one of the chief Pharisees to eat bread on the sabbath day, that they watched him.
14:2	And, behold, there was a certain man before him which had the dropsy.
14:3	And Jesus answering spake unto the lawyers and Pharisees, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath day?
14:4	And they held their peace. And he took him, and healed him, and let him go;
14:5	And answered them, saying, Which of you shall have an ass or an ox fallen into a pit, and will not straightway pull him out on the sabbath day?
14:6	And they could not answer him again to these things.
14:7	And he put forth a parable to those which were bidden, when he marked how they chose out the chief rooms; saying unto them,
14:8	When thou art bidden of any man to a wedding, sit not down in the highest room; lest a more honourable man than thou be bidden of him;
14:9	And he that bade thee and him come and say to thee, Give this man place; and thou begin with shame to take the lowest room.
14:10	But when thou art bidden, go and sit down in the lowest room; that when he that bade thee cometh, he may say unto thee, Friend, go up higher: then shalt thou have worship in the presence of them that sit at meat with thee.
14:11	For whosoever exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.
14:12	Then said he also to him that bade him, When thou makest a dinner or a supper, call not thy friends, nor thy brethren, neither thy kinsmen, nor thy rich neighbours; lest they also bid thee again, and a recompence be made thee.
14:13	But when thou makest a feast, call the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind:
14:14	And thou shalt be blessed; for they cannot recompense thee: for thou shalt be recompensed at the resurrection of the just.
14:15	And when one of them that sat at meat with him heard these things, he said unto him, Blessed is he that shall eat bread in the kingdom of God.
14:16	Then said he unto him, A certain man made a great supper, and bade many:
14:17	And sent his servant at supper time to say to them that were bidden, Come; for all things are now ready.
14:18	And they all with one consent began to make excuse. The first said unto him, I have bought a piece of ground, and I must needs go and see it: I pray thee have me excused.
14:19	And another said, I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I go to prove them: I pray thee have me excused.
14:20	And another said, I have married a wife, and therefore I cannot come.
14:21	So that servant came, and shewed his lord these things. Then the master of the house being angry said to his servant, Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in hither the poor, and the maimed, and the halt, and the blind.
14:22	And the servant said, Lord, it is done as thou hast commanded, and yet there is room.
14:23	And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.
14:24	For I say unto you, That none of those men which were bidden shall taste of my supper.
14:25	And there went great multitudes with him: and he turned, and said unto them,
14:26	If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.
14:27	And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple.
14:28	For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it?
14:29	Lest haply, after he hath laid the foundation, and is not able to finish it, all that behold it begin to mock him,
14:30	Saying, This man began to build, and was not able to finish.
14:31	Or what king, going to make war against another king, sitteth not down first, and consulteth whether he be able with ten thousand to meet him that cometh against him with twenty thousand?
14:32	Or else, while the other is yet a great way off, he sendeth an ambassage, and desireth conditions of peace.
14:33	So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple.
14:34	Salt is good: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be seasoned?
14:35	It is neither fit for the land, nor yet for the dunghill; but men cast it out. He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.


14:1	και εγενετο εν τω ελθειν αυτον εις οικον τινος των αρχοντων των φαρισαιων σαββατω φαγειν αρτον και αυτοι ησαν παρατηρουμενοι αυτον
14:2	και ιδου ανθρωπος τις ην υδρωπικος εμπροσθεν αυτου
14:3	και αποκριθεις ο ιησους ειπεν προς τους νομικους και φαρισαιους λεγων ει εξεστιν τω σαββατω θεραπευειν
14:4	οι δε ησυχασαν και επιλαβομενος ιασατο αυτον και απελυσεν
14:5	και αποκριθεις προς αυτους ειπεν τινος υμων ονος η βους εις φρεαρ εμπεσειται και ουκ ευθεως ανασπασει αυτον εν τη ημερα του σαββατου
14:6	και ουκ ισχυσαν ανταποκριθηναι αυτω προς ταυτα
14:7	ελεγεν δε προς τους κεκλημενους παραβολην επεχων πως τας πρωτοκλισιας εξελεγοντο λεγων προς αυτους
14:8	οταν κληθης υπο τινος εις γαμους μη κατακλιθης εις την πρωτοκλισιαν μηποτε εντιμοτερος σου η κεκλημενος υπ αυτου
14:9	και ελθων ο σε και αυτον καλεσας ερει σοι δος τουτω τοπον και τοτε αρξη μετ αισχυνης τον εσχατον τοπον κατεχειν
14:10	αλλ οταν κληθης πορευθεις αναπεσον εις τον εσχατον τοπον ινα οταν ελθη ο κεκληκως σε ειπη σοι φιλε προσαναβηθι ανωτερον τοτε εσται σοι δοξα ενωπιον των συνανακειμενων σοι
14:11	οτι πας ο υψων εαυτον ταπεινωθησεται και ο ταπεινων εαυτον υψωθησεται
14:12	ελεγεν δε και τω κεκληκοτι αυτον οταν ποιης αριστον η δειπνον μη φωνει τους φιλους σου μηδε τους αδελφους σου μηδε τους συγγενεις σου μηδε γειτονας πλουσιους μηποτε και αυτοι σε αντικαλεσωσιν και γενηται σοι ανταποδομα
14:13	αλλ οταν ποιης δοχην καλει πτωχους αναπηρους χωλους τυφλους
14:14	και μακαριος εση οτι ουκ εχουσιν ανταποδουναι σοι ανταποδοθησεται γαρ σοι εν τη αναστασει των δικαιων
14:15	ακουσας δε τις των συνανακειμενων ταυτα ειπεν αυτω μακαριος ος φαγεται αρτον εν τη βασιλεια του θεου
14:16	ο δε ειπεν αυτω ανθρωπος τις εποιησεν δειπνον μεγα και εκαλεσεν πολλους
14:17	και απεστειλεν τον δουλον αυτου τη ωρα του δειπνου ειπειν τοις κεκλημενοις ερχεσθε οτι ηδη ετοιμα εστιν παντα
14:18	και ηρξαντο απο μιας παραιτεισθαι παντες ο πρωτος ειπεν αυτω αγρον ηγορασα και εχω αναγκην εξελθειν και ιδειν αυτον ερωτω σε εχε με παρητημενον
14:19	και ετερος ειπεν ζευγη βοων ηγορασα πεντε και πορευομαι δοκιμασαι αυτα ερωτω σε εχε με παρητημενον
14:20	και ετερος ειπεν γυναικα εγημα και δια τουτο ου δυναμαι ελθειν
14:21	και παραγενομενος ο δουλος εκεινος απηγγειλεν τω κυριω αυτου ταυτα τοτε οργισθεις ο οικοδεσποτης ειπεν τω δουλω αυτου εξελθε ταχεως εις τας πλατειας και ρυμας της πολεως και τους πτωχους και αναπηρους και χωλους και τυφλους εισαγαγε ωδε
14:22	και ειπεν ο δουλος κυριε γεγονεν ως επεταξας και ετι τοπος εστιν
14:23	και ειπεν ο κυριος προς τον δουλον εξελθε εις τας οδους και φραγμους και αναγκασον εισελθειν ινα γεμισθη ο οικος μου
14:24	λεγω γαρ υμιν οτι ουδεις των ανδρων εκεινων των κεκλημενων γευσεται μου του δειπνου
14:25	συνεπορευοντο δε αυτω οχλοι πολλοι και στραφεις ειπεν προς αυτους
14:26	ει τις ερχεται προς με και ου μισει τον πατερα εαυτου και την μητερα και την γυναικα και τα τεκνα και τους αδελφους και τας αδελφας ετι δε και την εαυτου ψυχην ου δυναται μου μαθητης ειναι
14:27	και οστις ου βασταζει τον σταυρον αυτου και ερχεται οπισω μου ου δυναται μου ειναι μαθητης
14:28	τις γαρ εξ υμων θελων πυργον οικοδομησαι ουχι πρωτον καθισας ψηφιζει την δαπανην ει εχει τα προς απαρτισμον
14:29	ινα μηποτε θεντος αυτου θεμελιον και μη ισχυοντος εκτελεσαι παντες οι θεωρουντες αρξωνται εμπαιζειν αυτω
14:30	λεγοντες οτι ουτος ο ανθρωπος ηρξατο οικοδομειν και ουκ ισχυσεν εκτελεσαι
14:31	η τις βασιλευς πορευομενος συμβαλειν ετερω βασιλει εις πολεμον ουχι καθισας πρωτον βουλευεται ει δυνατος εστιν εν δεκα χιλιασιν απαντησαι τω μετα εικοσι χιλιαδων ερχομενω επ αυτον
14:32	ει δε μηγε ετι αυτου πορρω οντος πρεσβειαν αποστειλας ερωτα τα προς ειρηνην
14:33	ουτως ουν πας εξ υμων ος ουκ αποτασσεται πασιν τοις εαυτου υπαρχουσιν ου δυναται μου ειναι μαθητης
14:34	καλον το αλας εαν δε το αλας μωρανθη εν τινι αρτυθησεται
14:35	ουτε εις γην ουτε εις κοπριαν ευθετον εστιν εξω βαλλουσιν αυτο ο εχων ωτα ακουειν ακουετω


14:1	And it chaunsed that he went into the housse of one of ye chefe pharises to eate breed on a saboth daye: and they watched him.
14:2	And beholde ther was a man before him which had the dropsye.
14:3	And Iesus answered and spake vnto the lawears and pharises sayinge: is it laufull to heale on the saboth daye?
14:4	And they helde their peace. And he toke him and healed him and let him goo:
14:5	and answered the sayinge whiche of you shall have an asse or an oxe fallen into a pitt and will not strayght waye pull him out on the Saboth daye?
14:6	And they coulde not answer him agayne to that.
14:7	He put forthe a similitude to ye gestes whe he marked how they preased to the hyest roumes and sayd vnto the:
14:8	When thou arte bidde to a weddynge of eny man syt not doune in ye hyest roume lest a more honorable man then thou be bidden of him
14:9	and he that bade bothe him and the come and saye to the: geve this man roume and thou then beginne with shame to take the lowest roume.
14:10	But rather when thou arte bidden goo and syt in the lowest roume that when he that bade the cometh he maye saye vnto the: frende syt vp hyer. Then shalt thou have worshippe in the presence of them that syt at meate with the.
14:11	For whosoever exalteth him sylfe shalbe brought lowe. And he yt hubleth him sylfe shalbe exalted
14:12	Then sayde he also to him that had desyred him to diner: When thou makest a diner or a supper: call not thy frendes nor thy brethre nether thy kinsmen nor yet ryche neghbours: lest they bidde the agayne and a recompence be made the.
14:13	But when thou makest afeast call the poore the maymed the lame and the blynde
14:14	and thou shalt be happy for they cannot recompence the. But thou shalt be recompensed at the resurreccion of the iuste men.
14:15	When one of them that sate at meate also hearde that he sayde vnto him: happy is he that eateth breed in the kyngdome of God.
14:16	Then sayd he to him. A certayne man ordened a greate supper and bade many
14:17	and sent his servaunt at supper tyme to saye to them that wer bidden come: for all thinges are now redy.
14:18	And they all atonce begane to make excuse. The fyrst sayd vnto him: I have bought a ferme and I must nedes goo and se it I praye the have me excused.
14:19	And another sayd: I hove bought fyve yooke of oxen and I goo to prove them I praye the have me excused.
14:20	The thyrde sayd: I have maried a wyfe and therfore I cannot come.
14:21	And the servaunt went and brought his master worde therof. Then was the good man of the housse displeased and sayd to his servaut: Goo out quickly into ye stretes and quarters of the cite and bringe in hidder the poore and the maymed and the halt and the blynde.
14:22	And the servaut sayd: lorde it is done as thou comaundedst and yet ther is roume.
14:23	And the lorde sayd to the servaunt: Go out into ye hye wayes and hedges and compell the to come in that my housse maye be filled.
14:24	For I saye vnto you that none of those men which were bidde shall tast of my supper.
14:25	Ther went agreate copany with him and he turned and sayde vnto them:
14:26	If a man come to me and hate not his father and mother and wyfe and chyldren and brethren and sisters more over and his awne lyfe he cannot be my disciple.
14:27	And whosoever beare not his crosse and come after me cannot be my disciple.
14:28	Which of you disposed to bilde a toure sytteth not doune before and counteth ye cost whether he have sufficient to performe it?
14:29	lest after he hath layde ye foundacion and is not able to performe it all yt beholde it beginne to mocke him
14:30	sayinge: this man beganne to bilde and was not able to make an ende.
14:31	Or what kynge goeth to make batayle agaynst another kinge and sitteth not doune fyrst and casteth in his mynde whether he be able wt ten thousande to mete him that cometh agaynst him wt .xx thousand.
14:32	Or els whyll ye other is yet a greate waye of he will sende embasseatours and desyre peace.
14:33	So lykewyse none of you yt forsaketh not all yt he hath can be my disciple.
14:34	Salt is good but yf salt have loste hyr saltnes what shall be seasoned ther with?
14:35	It is nether good for ye londe nor yet for ye donge hill but men cast it out at ye dores. He yt hath eares to heare let him heare.
