22:9They said to hym: Where wilt thou that we prepare?
22:10And he sayed vnto them: Behold when ye be entred into the citye, ther shall a man mete you bearinge a picher of water, him folowe into the same house that he entreth in,
22:11& saye vnto the good man of the house: The mayster sayeth vnto the: wher is the geste chamber, where I shall eate myne easterlambe with my disciples?
22:12And he shall shewe you a great parloure paued. There make redy.
22:13And they went and founde as he had sayde vnto them, and made redy the easterlambe.
22:14And when the houre was come, he sate doune and the twelue Apostles with him.
22:15And sayde vnto them: I haue inwardlye desyred to eate this easterlambe with you, before that I suffer.
22:16For I saye vnto you: henceforth I wyll not eate of it anye more, vntill it be fulfylled in the kingdome of God.
22:17And he toke the cuppe and gaue thankes, and sayde: Take this and deuide it amonge you.
22:18For I say vnto you: I wyll not drinke of the frute of the vyne vntyll the kyngdome of God be come.

22:21Yet beholde, the hande of him that betrayeth me, is with me on on the table.
22:22And the sonne of man goeth as it is appointed. But wo be to that man by whome he is betrayed.
22:23And they beganne to enquire amonge them selues which of them it shoulde be, that shoulde do that.
22:24And ther was a stryfe amonge them, which of them shoulde be taken for the greatest.
22:25And he sayde vnto them: the kinges of the gentyls raigne ouer them, and they that beare rule ouer them, are called gracious Lordes.
22:26But ye shall not be so. But he that is greatest amonge you, shalbe as the yongest: and he that is chiefe shal be as the minister.
22:27For whether is greater, he that sytteth at meate: or he that serueth? Is not he that sytteth at meate? And I am amonge you, as he that ministreth.
22:28Ye are they whiche haue bydden with me in my temptacions.
22:29And I appointe vnto you a kyngdome, as my father hath appointed to me,
22:30that ye maye eate and drinke at my table in my kingdome, and syt on seates, and iudge the twelue tribes of Israel.
22:31And the Lorde sayde: Simon Simon beholde, Sathan hath desyred you, to syfte you, as it were wheate,
22:32but I haue prayed for the, that thy faith fayle not. And when thou arte conuerted, strengthe thy brethren.
22:33And he said vnto him: Lorde I am redye to go with the into prison, and to death.
22:34And he saide: I tell the Peter, the cocke shal crowe this daye, tyl thou haue thrise denied that thou knowest me.
22:35And he sayde vnto them: when I sente you without wallet and scrip and shoes? lacked ye any thinge? And they saide no.
22:36And he sayde vnto them: but nowe he that hath a wallet let him take it vp and lykewyse his scrip. And he that hath no swerde, let him sell his cote and bye one.
22:37For I saye vnto you: that yet that which is written, must be perfourmed in me: euen with the wicked was he numbred. For tose thinges which are written of me, haue an ende.
22:38And they sayde: Lorde beholde here are two sweardes. And he sayde vnto them: it is ynough.
22:39And he came out, and went as he was wont to mounte Oliuete. And the disciples folowed hym.
22:40And when he came to the place, he sayde to them: praye, least ye fall into the temptacion.
22:41And he gate him selfe from them, about a stones cast, & kneled doune, & prayed
22:42saiynge: Father if thou wylt, wythdrawe this cup from me. Neuertheles, not my wyll, but thyne be fulfylled.
22:43And ther appered an aungell vnto him from heauen, confortinge him.
22:44And he was in agonye, and praied some what longer. And his sweate was lyke droppes of bloude trycklinge doune to the grounde.
22:45And he rose vp from prayer, and came to his disciples, and founde them slepinge for sorowe,
22:46and sayde vnto them: Why slepe ye? Ryse and praye, leste ye fall into temptacion.
22:47Whyle he yet spake: beholde there came a company, and he that was called Iudas, one of the twelue, wente before them, and preased nyghe vnto Iesus to kysse him
22:48and Iesus said vnto hym: Iudas, betrayest thou the sonne of man with a kysse?
22:49When they whiche were aboute him sawe what woulde folowe, they sayed vnto him: Lorde, shall we smite with swearde?
22:50And one of them smote a seruaunte of the hiest prieste of all, & smote of his righte eare.
22:51And Iesus aunswered and saide: Suffer ye thus farre forth. And he touched his eare and healed him.
22:52Then Iesus sayed vnto the hye pryestes and rulers of the temple, and the elders which were come to him. Be ye come out as vnto a thefe with sweardes and staues?
22:53When I was dayly with you in temple, ye stretched not forth handes agaynste me. But this is euen youre verye houre, and the power of darcknes.
22:54Then toke they him, and ledde him and brought him to the hye priestes house. And Peter folowed a farre of.
22:55When they had kindled a fyre in the myddes of the palaice, and were set doune together: Peter also sate doune amonge them:
22:56And one of the wenches, behelde hym as he sate by the fyre and set good eye syght on him and sayde: this same was also with him.
22:57Then he denyed hym saiynge: woman I knowe him not.
22:58And after a lytle while another sawe him and said: thou arte also of them. And Peter sayed: man I am not.
22:59And about the space of an houre after, another affyrmed saiynge: verelye euen this felowe was with him, for he is of Galile,
22:60and Peter sayed: man I wote not what thou sayest. And immediatlye whyle he yet spake, that cocke crewe.
22:61And the Lorde tourned backe and loked vpon Peter. And Peter remembred the wordes of the Lorde, howe he sayed vnto him, before the cocke crowe, thou shalt denye me thryse.
22:62And Peter wente out, and wepte betterlye.
22:63And the men that stode about Iesus mocked hym and smote him,
22:64and blindfolded him, and smote his face. And axed him, saiynge arede who it is that smote the?
22:65And manye other thinges despitfully sayed they against him.
22:66And assone as it was daye the elders of the people and the hyghe priestes an scribes came together, and ledde him into their counsell saiynge:
22:67are thou verye Christe? tell vs. And he sayde vnto them: If I shall tell you, ye wyl not beleue.
22:68And if also I axe you, ye wyll not aunswere me or let me go.
22:69Hereafter shall the sonne of man syt on the ryghthande of the power of God.
22:70Then saide they all: Arte thou then the sonne of God? He sayde to them: ye say that I am.
22:71Then sayde they: what nede we anye further wytnes? We our selues haue hearde of his owne mouthe.

22:1Now the feast of vnleauened bread drewe neere, which is called the Passeouer.
22:2And the hie Priests and Scribes sought how they might kill him: for they feared the people.
22:3Then entred Satan into Iudas, who was called Iscariot, and was of the nomber of the twelue.
22:4And he went his way, and communed with the hie Priestes and captaines, how he might betray him to them.
22:5So they were glad, and agreed to giue him money.
22:6And he consented, and sought opportunitie to betraye him vnto them, when the people were away.
22:7Then came the day of vnleauened bread, when the Passeouer must be sacrificed.
22:8And he sent Peter and Iohn, saying, Go and prepare vs the Passeouer, that we may eate it.
22:9And they saide to him, Where wilt thou, that we prepare it?
22:10Then he said vnto them, Beholde, when ye be entred into the citie, there shall a man meete you, bearing a pitcher of water: folowe him into the house that he entreth in,
22:11And say vnto the good man of the house, The Master saith vnto thee, Where is the lodging where I shall eate my Passeouer with my disciples?
22:12Then he shall shewe you a great hie chamber trimmed: there make it ready.
22:13So they went, and found as he had said vnto them, and made readie the Passeouer.
22:14And when the houre was come, hee sate downe, and the twelue Apostles with him.
22:15Then he saide vnto them, I haue earnestly desired to eate this Passeouer with you, before I suffer.
22:16For I say vnto you, Hencefoorth I will not eate of it any more, vntill it bee fulfilled in the kingdome of God.
22:17And hee tooke the cup, and gaue thankes, and said, Take this, and deuide it among you,
22:18For I say vnto you, I will not drinke of the fruite of the vine, vntill the kingdome of God be come.
22:19And he tooke bread, and when he had giuen thankes, he brake it, and gaue to them, saying, This is my body, which is giuen for you: doe this in the remembrance of me.
22:20Likewise also after supper he tooke the cup, saying, This cup is that newe Testament in my blood, which is shed for you.
22:21Yet beholde, the hand of him that betrayeth me, is with me at the table.
22:22And truely the Sonne of man goeth as it is appointed: but woe be to that man, by whom he is betrayed.
22:23Then they began to enquire among themselues which of them it should be, that should do that.
22:24And there arose also a strife among them, which of them should seeme to be ye greatest.
22:25But hee saide vnto them, The Kings of the Gentiles reigne ouer them, and they that beare rule ouer them, are called bountifull.
22:26But yee shall not be so: but let the greatest among you be as the least: and the chiefest as he that serueth.
22:27For who is greater, he that sitteth at table, or he that serueth? Is not he that sitteth at table? And I am among you as he that serueth.
22:28And yee are they which haue continued with me in my tentations.
22:29Therefore I appoint vnto you a kingdome, as my Father hath appointed vnto me,
22:30That ye may eate, and drinke at my table in my kingdome, and sit on seates, and iudge the twelue tribes of Israel.
22:31And the Lord saide, Simon, Simon, beholde, Satan hath desired you, to winowe you as wheate.
22:32But I haue prayed for thee, that thy faith faile not: therefore when thou art conuerted, strengthen thy brethren.
22:33And he said vnto him, Lord, I am ready to goe with thee into prison, and to death.
22:34But he said, I tell thee, Peter, the cocke shall not crowe this day, before thou hast thrise denied that thou knewest me.
22:35And he saide vnto them, When I sent you without bagge, and scrip, and shooes, lacked ye any thing? And they said, Nothing.
22:36Then he said to them, But nowe he that hath a bagge, let him take it, and likewise a scrip: and hee that hath none, let him sell his coate, and buy a sworde.
22:37For I say vnto you, That yet the same which is written, must be perfourmed in me, Euen with the wicked was he nombred: for doubtlesse those things which are written of me, haue an ende.
22:38And they said, Lord, beholde, here are two swordes. And he said vnto them, It is ynough.
22:39And he came out, and went (as he was wont) to the mount of Oliues: and his disciples also followed him.
22:40And when hee came to the place, hee said to them, Pray, lest ye enter into tentation.
22:41And he was drawen aside from them about a stones cast, and kneeled downe, and prayed,
22:42Saying, Father, if thou wilt, take away this cuppe from mee: neuerthelesse, not my will, but thine be done.
22:43And there appeared an Angell vnto him from heauen, comforting him.
22:44But being in an agonie, hee prayed more earnestly: and his sweate was like drops of blood, trickling downe to the ground.
22:45And he rose vp from prayer, and came to his disciples, and found them sleeping for heauinesse.
22:46And he said vnto them, Why sleepe ye? rise and pray, least ye enter into tentation.
22:47And while he yet spake, beholde, a companie, and he that was called Iudas one of the twelue, went before them, and came neere vnto Iesus to kisse him.
22:48And Iesus saide vnto him, Iudas, betrayest thou the Sonne of man with a kisse?
22:49Now when they which were about him, saw what would follow, they said vnto him, Lord, shall we smite with sworde?
22:50And one of them smote a seruant of the hie Priest, and strooke off his right eare.
22:51Then Iesus answered, and said, Suffer them thus farre: and he touched his eare, and healed him.
22:52Then Iesus said vnto the hie Priests, and captaines of the Temple, and the Elders which were come to him, Bee ye come out as vnto a theefe with swordes and staues?
22:53When I was dayly with you in the Temple, yee stretched not foorth the handes against mee: but this is your very houre, and the power of darkenesse.
22:54Then tooke they him, and led him, and brought him to the hie Priestes house. And Peter followed afarre off.
22:55And when they had kindled a fire in the middes of the hall, and were set downe together, Peter also sate downe among them.
22:56And a certaine mayde behelde him as hee sate by the fire, and hauing well looked on him, said, This man was also with him.
22:57But he denied him, saying, Woman, I know him not.
22:58And after a little while, another man sawe him, and saide, Thou art also of them. But Peter said, Man, I am not.
22:59And about the space of an houre after, a certaine other affirmed, saying. Verely euen this man was with him: for he is also a Galilean.
22:60And Peter saide, Man, I knowe not what thou sayest. And immediatly while hee yet spake, the cocke crewe.
22:61Then the Lord turned backe, and looked vpon Peter: and Peter remembred the worde of the Lord, how he had said vnto him, Before the cocke crowe, thou shalt denie me thrise.
22:62And Peter went out, and wept bitterly.
22:63And the men that helde Iesus, mocked him, and strooke him.
22:64And when they had blindfolded him, they smote him on the face, and asked him, saying, Prophecie who it is that smote thee.
22:65And many other thinges blasphemously spake they against him.
22:66And assoone as it was day, the Elders of the people, and the hie Priests and the Scribes came together, and led him into their councill,
22:67Saying, Art thou that Christ? tell vs. And he said vnto them, If I tell you, ye wil not beleeue it.
22:68And if also I aske you, you will not answere me, nor let me goe.
22:69Hereafter shall the Sonne of man sit at the right hand of the power of God.
22:70Then sayd they all, Art thou then ye Sonne of God? And he sayd to them, Ye say, that I am.
22:71Then sayd they, What neede we any further witnes? for we our selues haue heard it of his owne mouth.

22:1Now the feast of unleavened bread drew nigh, which is called the Passover.
22:2And the chief priests and scribes sought how they might kill him; for they feared the people.
22:3Then entered Satan into Judas surnamed Iscariot, being of the number of the twelve.
22:4And he went his way, and communed with the chief priests and captains, how he might betray him unto them.
22:5And they were glad, and covenanted to give him money.
22:6And he promised, and sought opportunity to betray him unto them in the absence of the multitude.
22:7Then came the day of unleavened bread, when the passover must be killed.
22:8And he sent Peter and John, saying, Go and prepare us the passover, that we may eat.
22:9And they said unto him, Where wilt thou that we prepare?
22:10And he said unto them, Behold, when ye are entered into the city, there shall a man meet you, bearing a pitcher of water; follow him into the house where he entereth in.
22:11And ye shall say unto the goodman of the house, The Master saith unto thee, Where is the guestchamber, where I shall eat the passover with my disciples?
22:12And he shall shew you a large upper room furnished: there make ready.
22:13And they went, and found as he had said unto them: and they made ready the passover.
22:14And when the hour was come, he sat down, and the twelve apostles with him.
22:15And he said unto them, With desire I have desired to eat this passover with you before I suffer:
22:16For I say unto you, I will not any more eat thereof, until it be fulfilled in the kingdom of God.
22:17And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and said, Take this, and divide it among yourselves:
22:18For I say unto you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine, until the kingdom of God shall come.
22:19And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me.
22:20Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you.
22:21But, behold, the hand of him that betrayeth me is with me on the table.
22:22And truly the Son of man goeth, as it was determined: but woe unto that man by whom he is betrayed!
22:23And they began to enquire among themselves, which of them it was that should do this thing.
22:24And there was also a strife among them, which of them should be accounted the greatest.
22:25And he said unto them, The kings of the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and they that exercise authority upon them are called benefactors.
22:26But ye shall not be so: but he that is greatest among you, let him be as the younger; and he that is chief, as he that doth serve.
22:27For whether is greater, he that sitteth at meat, or he that serveth? is not he that sitteth at meat? but I am among you as he that serveth.
22:28Ye are they which have continued with me in my temptations.
22:29And I appoint unto you a kingdom, as my Father hath appointed unto me;
22:30That ye may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom, and sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
22:31And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat:
22:32But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.
22:33And he said unto him, Lord, I am ready to go with thee, both into prison, and to death.
22:34And he said, I tell thee, Peter, the cock shall not crow this day, before that thou shalt thrice deny that thou knowest me.
22:35And he said unto them, When I sent you without purse, and scrip, and shoes, lacked ye any thing? And they said, Nothing.
22:36Then said he unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip: and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one.
22:37For I say unto you, that this that is written must yet be accomplished in me, And he was reckoned among the transgressors: for the things concerning me have an end.
22:38And they said, Lord, behold, here are two swords. And he said unto them, It is enough.
22:39And he came out, and went, as he was wont, to the mount of Olives; and his disciples also followed him.
22:40And when he was at the place, he said unto them, Pray that ye enter not into temptation.
22:41And he was withdrawn from them about a stone's cast, and kneeled down, and prayed,
22:42Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.
22:43And there appeared an angel unto him from heaven, strengthening him.
22:44And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground.
22:45And when he rose up from prayer, and was come to his disciples, he found them sleeping for sorrow,
22:46And said unto them, Why sleep ye? rise and pray, lest ye enter into temptation.
22:47And while he yet spake, behold a multitude, and he that was called Judas, one of the twelve, went before them, and drew near unto Jesus to kiss him.
22:48But Jesus said unto him, Judas, betrayest thou the Son of man with a kiss?
22:49When they which were about him saw what would follow, they said unto him, Lord, shall we smite with the sword?
22:50And one of them smote the servant of the high priest, and cut off his right ear.
22:51And Jesus answered and said, Suffer ye thus far. And he touched his ear, and healed him.
22:52Then Jesus said unto the chief priests, and captains of the temple, and the elders, which were come to him, Be ye come out, as against a thief, with swords and staves?
22:53When I was daily with you in the temple, ye stretched forth no hands against me: but this is your hour, and the power of darkness.
22:54Then took they him, and led him, and brought him into the high priest's house. And Peter followed afar off.
22:55And when they had kindled a fire in the midst of the hall, and were set down together, Peter sat down among them.
22:56But a certain maid beheld him as he sat by the fire, and earnestly looked upon him, and said, This man was also with him.
22:57And he denied him, saying, Woman, I know him not.
22:58And after a little while another saw him, and said, Thou art also of them. And Peter said, Man, I am not.
22:59And about the space of one hour after another confidently affirmed, saying, Of a truth this fellow also was with him: for he is a Galilaean.
22:60And Peter said, Man, I know not what thou sayest. And immediately, while he yet spake, the cock crew.
22:61And the Lord turned, and looked upon Peter. And Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how he had said unto him, Before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice.
22:62And Peter went out, and wept bitterly.
22:63And the men that held Jesus mocked him, and smote him.
22:64And when they had blindfolded him, they struck him on the face, and asked him, saying, Prophesy, who is it that smote thee?
22:65And many other things blasphemously spake they against him.
22:66And as soon as it was day, the elders of the people and the chief priests and the scribes came together, and led him into their council, saying,
22:67Art thou the Christ? tell us. And he said unto them, If I tell you, ye will not believe:
22:68And if I also ask you, ye will not answer me, nor let me go.
22:69Hereafter shall the Son of man sit on the right hand of the power of God.
22:70Then said they all, Art thou then the Son of God? And he said unto them, Ye say that I am.
22:71And they said, What need we any further witness? for we ourselves have heard of his own mouth.
