22:1	And the feast of the unleavened food was coming nigh, that is called Passover,
22:2	and the chief priests and the scribes were seeking how they may take him up, for they were afraid of the people.
22:3	And the Adversary entered into Judas, who is surnamed Iscariot, being of the number of the twelve,
22:4	and he, having gone away, spake with the chief priests and the magistrates, how he might deliver him up to them,
22:5	and they rejoiced, and covenanted to give him money,
22:6	and he agreed, and was seeking a favourable season to deliver him up to them without tumult.
22:7	And the day of the unleavened food came, in which it was behoving the passover to be sacrificed,
22:8	and he sent Peter and John, saying, `Having gone on, prepare to us the passover, that we may eat;'
22:9	and they said to him, `Where wilt thou that we might prepare?'
22:10	And he said to them, `Lo, in your entering into the city, there shall meet you a man, bearing a pitcher of water, follow him to the house where he doth go in,
22:11	and ye shall say to the master of the house, The Teacher saith to thee, Where is the guest-chamber where the passover with my disciples I may eat?
22:12	and he shall show you a large upper room furnished, there make ready;'
22:13	and they, having gone away, found as he hath said to them, and they made ready the passover.
22:14	And when the hour come, he reclined (at meat), and the twelve apostles with him,
22:15	and he said unto them, `With desire I did desire to eat this passover with you before my suffering,
22:16	for I say to you, that no more may I eat of it till it may be fulfilled in the reign of God.'
22:17	And having taken a cup, having given thanks, he said, `Take this and divide to yourselves,
22:18	for I say to you that I may not drink of the produce of the vine till the reign of God may come.'
22:19	And having taken bread, having given thanks, he brake and gave to them, saying, `This is my body, that for you is being given, this do ye -- to remembrance of me.'
22:20	In like manner, also, the cup after the supping, saying, `This cup `is' the new covenant in my blood, that for you is being poured forth.
22:21	`But, lo, the hand of him delivering me up `is' with me on the table,
22:22	and indeed the Son of Man doth go according to what hath been determined; but wo to that man through whom he is being delivered up.'
22:23	And they began to reason among themselves, who then of them it may be, who is about to do this thing.
22:24	And there happened also a strife among them -- who of them is accounted to be greater.
22:25	And he said to them, `The kings of the nations do exercise lordship over them, and those exercising authority upon them are called benefactors;
22:26	but ye `are' not so, but he who is greater among you -- let him be as the younger; and he who is leading, as he who is ministering;
22:27	for who is greater? he who is reclining (at meat), or he who is ministering? is it not he who is reclining (at meat)? and I -- I am in your midst as he who is ministering.
22:28	`And ye -- ye are those who have remained with me in my temptations,
22:29	and I appoint to you, as my Father did appoint to me, a kingdom,
22:30	that ye may eat and may drink at my table, in my kingdom, and may sit on thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.'
22:31	And the Lord said, `Simon, Simon, lo, the Adversary did ask you for himself to sift as the wheat,
22:32	and I besought for thee, that thy faith may not fail; and thou, when thou didst turn, strengthen thy brethren.'
22:33	And he said to him, `Sir, with thee I am ready both to prison and to death to go;'
22:34	and he said, `I say to thee, Peter, a cock shall not crow to-day, before thrice thou mayest disown knowing me.'
22:35	And he said to them, `When I sent you without bag, and scrip, and sandals, did ye lack anything?' and they said, `Nothing.'
22:36	Then said he to them, `But, now, he who is having a bag, let him take `it' up, and in like manner also a scrip; and he who is not having, let him sell his garment, and buy a sword,
22:37	for I say to you, that yet this that hath been written it behoveth to be fulfilled in me: And with lawless ones he was reckoned, for also the things concerning me have an end.'
22:38	And they said, `Sir, lo, here `are' two swords;' and he said to them, `It is sufficient.'
22:39	And having gone forth, he went on, according to custom, to the mount of the Olives, and his disciples also followed him,
22:40	and having come to the place, he said to them, `Pray ye not to enter into temptation.'
22:41	And he was withdrawn from them, as it were a stone's cast, and having fallen on the knees he was praying,
22:42	saying, `Father, if Thou be counselling to make this cup pass from me --; but, not my will, but Thine be done.' --
22:43	And there appeared to him a messenger from heaven strengthening him;
22:44	and having been in agony, he was more earnestly praying, and his sweat became, as it were, great drops of blood falling upon the ground.
22:45	And having risen up from the prayer, having come unto the disciples, he found them sleeping from the sorrow,
22:46	and he said to them, `Why do ye sleep? having risen, pray that ye may not enter into temptation.'
22:47	And while he is speaking, lo, a multitude, and he who is called Judas, one of the twelve, was coming before them, and he came nigh to Jesus to kiss him,
22:48	and Jesus said to him, `Judas, with a kiss the Son of Man dost thou deliver up?'
22:49	And those about him, having seen what was about to be, said to him, `Sir, shall we smite with a sword?'
22:50	And a certain one of them smote the servant of the chief priest, and took off his right ear,
22:51	and Jesus answering said, `Suffer ye thus far,' and having touched his ear, he healed him.
22:52	And Jesus said to those having come upon him -- chief priests, and magistrates of the temple, and elders -- `As upon a robber have ye come forth, with swords and sticks?
22:53	while daily I was with you in the temple, ye did stretch forth no hands against me; but this is your hour and the power of the darkness.'
22:54	And having taken him, they led and brought him to the house of the chief priest. And Peter was following afar off,
22:55	and they having kindled a fire in the midst of the court, and having sat down together, Peter was sitting in the midst of them,
22:56	and a certain maid having seen him sitting at the light, and having earnestly looked at him, she said, `And this one was with him!'
22:57	and he disowned him, saying, `Woman, I have not known him.'
22:58	And after a little, another having seen him, said, `And thou art of them!' and Peter said, `Man, I am not.'
22:59	And one hour, as it were, having intervened, a certain other was confidently affirming, saying, `Of a truth this one also was with him, for he is also a Galilean;'
22:60	and Peter said, `Man, I have not known what thou sayest;' and presently, while he is speaking, a cock crew.
22:61	And the Lord having turned did look on Peter, and Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how he said to him -- `Before a cock shall crow, thou mayest disown me thrice;'
22:62	and Peter having gone without, wept bitterly.
22:63	And the men who were holding Jesus were mocking him, beating `him';
22:64	and having blindfolded him, they were striking him on the face, and were questioning him, saying, `Prophesy who he is who smote thee?'
22:65	and many other things, speaking evilly, they spake in regard to him.
22:66	And when it became day there was gathered together the eldership of the people, chief priests also, and scribes, and they led him up to their own sanhedrim,
22:67	saying, `If thou be the Christ, tell us.' And he said to them, `If I may tell you, ye will not believe;
22:68	and if I also question `you', ye will not answer me or send me away;
22:69	henceforth, there shall be the Son of Man sitting on the right hand of the power of God.'
22:70	And they all said, `Thou, then, art the Son of God?' and he said unto them, `Ye say `it', because I am;'
22:71	and they said, `What need yet have we of testimony? for we ourselves did hear `it' from his mouth.'


22:1	Now the feast of unleavened bread drew nigh, which is called the Passover.
22:2	And the chief priests and scribes sought how they might kill him; for they feared the people.
22:3	Then entered Satan into Judas surnamed Iscariot, being of the number of the twelve.
22:4	And he went his way, and communed with the chief priests and captains, how he might betray him unto them.
22:5	And they were glad, and covenanted to give him money.
22:6	And he promised, and sought opportunity to betray him unto them in the absence of the multitude.
22:7	Then came the day of unleavened bread, when the passover must be killed.
22:8	And he sent Peter and John, saying, Go and prepare us the passover, that we may eat.
22:9	And they said unto him, Where wilt thou that we prepare?
22:10	And he said unto them, Behold, when ye are entered into the city, there shall a man meet you, bearing a pitcher of water; follow him into the house where he entereth in.
22:11	And ye shall say unto the goodman of the house, The Master saith unto thee, Where is the guestchamber, where I shall eat the passover with my disciples?
22:12	And he shall shew you a large upper room furnished: there make ready.
22:13	And they went, and found as he had said unto them: and they made ready the passover.
22:14	And when the hour was come, he sat down, and the twelve apostles with him.
22:15	And he said unto them, With desire I have desired to eat this passover with you before I suffer:
22:16	For I say unto you, I will not any more eat thereof, until it be fulfilled in the kingdom of God.
22:17	And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and said, Take this, and divide it among yourselves:
22:18	For I say unto you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine, until the kingdom of God shall come.
22:19	And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me.
22:20	Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you.
22:21	But, behold, the hand of him that betrayeth me is with me on the table.
22:22	And truly the Son of man goeth, as it was determined: but woe unto that man by whom he is betrayed!
22:23	And they began to enquire among themselves, which of them it was that should do this thing.
22:24	And there was also a strife among them, which of them should be accounted the greatest.
22:25	And he said unto them, The kings of the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and they that exercise authority upon them are called benefactors.
22:26	But ye shall not be so: but he that is greatest among you, let him be as the younger; and he that is chief, as he that doth serve.
22:27	For whether is greater, he that sitteth at meat, or he that serveth? is not he that sitteth at meat? but I am among you as he that serveth.
22:28	Ye are they which have continued with me in my temptations.
22:29	And I appoint unto you a kingdom, as my Father hath appointed unto me;
22:30	That ye may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom, and sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
22:31	And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat:
22:32	But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.
22:33	And he said unto him, Lord, I am ready to go with thee, both into prison, and to death.
22:34	And he said, I tell thee, Peter, the cock shall not crow this day, before that thou shalt thrice deny that thou knowest me.
22:35	And he said unto them, When I sent you without purse, and scrip, and shoes, lacked ye any thing? And they said, Nothing.
22:36	Then said he unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip: and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one.
22:37	For I say unto you, that this that is written must yet be accomplished in me, And he was reckoned among the transgressors: for the things concerning me have an end.
22:38	And they said, Lord, behold, here are two swords. And he said unto them, It is enough.
22:39	And he came out, and went, as he was wont, to the mount of Olives; and his disciples also followed him.
22:40	And when he was at the place, he said unto them, Pray that ye enter not into temptation.
22:41	And he was withdrawn from them about a stone's cast, and kneeled down, and prayed,
22:42	Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.
22:43	And there appeared an angel unto him from heaven, strengthening him.
22:44	And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground.
22:45	And when he rose up from prayer, and was come to his disciples, he found them sleeping for sorrow,
22:46	And said unto them, Why sleep ye? rise and pray, lest ye enter into temptation.
22:47	And while he yet spake, behold a multitude, and he that was called Judas, one of the twelve, went before them, and drew near unto Jesus to kiss him.
22:48	But Jesus said unto him, Judas, betrayest thou the Son of man with a kiss?
22:49	When they which were about him saw what would follow, they said unto him, Lord, shall we smite with the sword?
22:50	And one of them smote the servant of the high priest, and cut off his right ear.
22:51	And Jesus answered and said, Suffer ye thus far. And he touched his ear, and healed him.
22:52	Then Jesus said unto the chief priests, and captains of the temple, and the elders, which were come to him, Be ye come out, as against a thief, with swords and staves?
22:53	When I was daily with you in the temple, ye stretched forth no hands against me: but this is your hour, and the power of darkness.
22:54	Then took they him, and led him, and brought him into the high priest's house. And Peter followed afar off.
22:55	And when they had kindled a fire in the midst of the hall, and were set down together, Peter sat down among them.
22:56	But a certain maid beheld him as he sat by the fire, and earnestly looked upon him, and said, This man was also with him.
22:57	And he denied him, saying, Woman, I know him not.
22:58	And after a little while another saw him, and said, Thou art also of them. And Peter said, Man, I am not.
22:59	And about the space of one hour after another confidently affirmed, saying, Of a truth this fellow also was with him: for he is a Galilaean.
22:60	And Peter said, Man, I know not what thou sayest. And immediately, while he yet spake, the cock crew.
22:61	And the Lord turned, and looked upon Peter. And Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how he had said unto him, Before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice.
22:62	And Peter went out, and wept bitterly.
22:63	And the men that held Jesus mocked him, and smote him.
22:64	And when they had blindfolded him, they struck him on the face, and asked him, saying, Prophesy, who is it that smote thee?
22:65	And many other things blasphemously spake they against him.
22:66	And as soon as it was day, the elders of the people and the chief priests and the scribes came together, and led him into their council, saying,
22:67	Art thou the Christ? tell us. And he said unto them, If I tell you, ye will not believe:
22:68	And if I also ask you, ye will not answer me, nor let me go.
22:69	Hereafter shall the Son of man sit on the right hand of the power of God.
22:70	Then said they all, Art thou then the Son of God? And he said unto them, Ye say that I am.
22:71	And they said, What need we any further witness? for we ourselves have heard of his own mouth.

22:9	And they said to Him, Where do You desire that we prepare?
22:10	And He said to them, Behold, you going into the city, you will meet a man carrying a pitcher of water. Follow him into the house where he goes in.
22:11	And you will say to the housemaster of that house, The Teacher says to you, Where is the guest room where I may eat the passover with My disciples?
22:12	And that one will show you a large upper room which he has spread. Prepare there.
22:13	And going, they found as He had told them, and they prepared the passover.
22:14	And when the hour came, He reclined, and the twelve apostles with Him.
22:15	And He said to them, With desire I desired to eat this passover with you before My suffering.
22:16	For I say to you that never in any way I will eat of it until it is fulfilled in the kingdom of God.
22:17	And taking a cup, giving thanks, He said, Take this and divide it among yourselves.
22:18	For I say to you that in no way will I drink from the produce of the vine until the kingdom of God comes.
22:19	And taking a loaf, giving thanks, He broke, and gave to them, saying, This is My body being given for you. Do this for My remembrance.
22:20	And in the same way the cup, after having supped, saying, This cup is the New Covenant in My blood, which is being poured out for you.
22:21	But behold the hand of My betrayer on the table with Me!
22:22	And, indeed, the Son of man goes according as was determined, but woe to that man by whom He is betrayed!
22:23	And they began to examine themselves who then it may be of them, the one being about to do this.
22:24	And there was also a dispute among them, who of them seems to be greater.
22:25	And He said to them, The kings of the nations lord it over them, and those exercising authority over them are called benefactors.
22:26	But you be not so, but the greater among you, let him be as the lesser; and the one governing as the one serving.
22:27	For who is greater, the one serving, or the one reclining? Is it not the one reclining? But I am in your midst as One serving.
22:28	But you are those continuing with Me in My temptation.
22:29	And I appoint a kingdom to you, as My Father appointed to Me,
22:30	that you may eat and drink at My table in My kingdom; and you will sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
22:31	And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold! Satan asked for you, to sift you as wheat;
22:32	but I entreated concerning you, that your faith might not fail. And when you have turned back, confirm your brothers.
22:33	And he said to Him, Lord, I am ready to go both to prison and to death with You.
22:34	And He said, Peter, I say to you, a cock will not crow today before you will deny knowing Me three times.
22:35	And He said to them, When I sent you without a purse, or a wallet, or sandals, did you lack anything? And they said, Nothing.
22:36	Then He said to them, But now, the one having a purse, let him take it ; likewise also a wallet. And the one not having, let him sell his garment, and let him buy a sword.
22:37	For I say to you that this that has been written must yet be fulfilled in Me: "And He was numbered with the lawless." Isa. 53:12 For the things concerning Me also have an end.
22:38	And they said, Lord, behold, here are two swords. And He said to them, It is enough.
22:39	And going out, according to His custom, He went to the Mount of Olives; and His disciples also followed Him.
22:40	And having come on the place, He said to them, Pray you will not enter into temptation.
22:41	And He was withdrawn from them, about a stone's throw. And placing the knees, He prayed,
22:42	saying, Father, if You will, take away this cup from Me; but let not My will be done, but Your will .

22:45	And rising up from the prayer, coming to His disciples, He found them sleeping from grief.

22:47	And as He was yet speaking, behold, a crowd! And the one called Judas, one of the Twelve, came in front of them and drew near to Jesus in order to kiss Him.
22:48	And Jesus said to him, Judas, do you betray the Son of man with a kiss?
22:49	And those around Him seeing that about to occur, they said to Him, Lord, shall we strike with the sword?
22:50	And a certain one of them struck the slave of the high priest and cut off his right ear.
22:51	And answering, Jesus said, Allow it until this. And touching his ear, He healed him.
22:52	And Jesus said to those coming upon Him, chief priests, and commanders of the temple, and elders, Have you come out with swords and clubs as against a robber?
22:53	When I was with you day by day in the temple, you did not stretch out your hand on Me. But this is your hour and the authority of the darkness.
22:54	And laying hold of Him, they led Him away and led Him into the house of the high priest. And Peter followed at a distance.
22:55	And lighting a fire in the middle of the court, and they sitting down, Peter sat in their midst.
22:56	And a certain slave woman seeing him sitting near the light, and looking intently at him, she said, And this one was with him.
22:57	But he denied Him, saying, Woman, I do not know Him.
22:58	And after a while, another seeing him said, You also are of them. But Peter said, Man, I am not.
22:59	And about an hour intervening, a certain other one boldly charged, saying, Truly this one also was with him, for he also is a Galilean.
22:60	And Peter said, Man, I do not know what you say. And immediately, while he yet spoke, the cock crowed.
22:61	And turning, the Lord looked at Peter. And Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how He told him, Before a cock would crow, you will deny Me three times.
22:62	And going outside, Peter wept bitterly.
22:63	And the men who were holding Jesus mocked Him, beating Him .
22:64	And blindfolding Him, they were striking His face and questioning Him, saying, Prophesy, who is the one stinging you?
22:65	And blaspheming, many other things they said to Him.
22:66	And when day came, the body of elders of the people, the chief priests and scribes, were gathered. And they led Him away into their sanhedrin, saying,
22:67	If you are the Christ, tell us. And He said to them, If I tell you, you will in no way believe.
22:68	And also if I ask, in no way will you answer Me, or let Me go.
22:69	From now on the Son of man will be sitting at the right of the power of God. Psa. 110:1
22:70	And they all said, Then are you the Son of God? And He said to them, You say it , because I AM!
22:71	And they said, Why do we yet have need of witness? For we ourselves heard it from his mouth.
