John - Chapter: 7

>
7:1After these things, Iesus walked in Galilee: for hee would not walk in Iurie, because the Iewes sought to kill him.
7:2Now the Iewes feast of Tabernacles was at hand.
7:3His brethren therefore saide vnto him, Depart hence, and go into Iudea, that thy Disciples also may see the works that thou doest.
7:4For there is no man that doth any thing in secret, and hee himselfe seeketh to be knowen openly: If thou doe these things, shew thy selfe to ye world.
7:5For neither did his brethren beleeue in him.
7:6Then Iesus said vnto them, My time is not yet come: but your time is alway ready.
7:7The world cannot hate you, but me it hateth, because I testifie of it, that the workes thereof are euill.
7:8Goe ye vp vnto this feast: I goe not vp yet vnto this feast, for my time is not yet full come.
7:9When he had said these words vnto them, he abode still in Galilee.
7:10But when his brethren were gone vp, then went he also vp vnto the feast, not openly, but as it were in secret.
7:11Then the Iewes sought him at the feast, and said, Where is he?
7:12And there was much murmuring among the people, concerning him: For some said, Hee is a good man: Others said, Nay, but he deceiueth the people.
7:13Howbeit, no man spake openly of him, for feare of the Iewes.
7:14Now about the middest of the feast, Iesus went vp into the Temple, and taught.
7:15And the Iewes marueiled, saying, How knoweth this man letters, hauing neuer learned?
7:16Iesus answered them, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me.
7:17If any man will doe his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speake of my selfe.
7:18He that speaketh of himselfe, seeketh his owne glory: but he that seeketh his glory that sent him, the same is true, and no vnrighteousnesse is in him.
7:19Did not Moses giue you the Law, and yet none of you keepeth the Law? Why goe ye about to kill me?
7:20The people answered, and sayd, Thou hast a deuill: Who goeth about to kill thee?
7:21Iesus answered, and saide vnto them, I haue done one worke, and yee all marueile.
7:22Moses therefore gaue vnto you Circumcision (not because it is of Moses, but of the fathers) and yee on the Sabbath day circumcise a man.
7:23If a man on the Sabbath day receiue circumcision, that the Lawe of Moses should not be broken; are ye angry at me, because I haue made a man euery whit whole on the Sabbath day?
7:24Iudge not according to the appearance, but iudge righteous iudgement.
7:25Then said some of them of Hierusalem, Is not this hee, whome they seeke to kill?
7:26But loe, he speaketh boldly, and they say nothing vnto him: Doe the rulers know indeede that this is the very Christ?
7:27Howbeit wee know this man whence he is: but when Christ commeth, no man knoweth whence he is.
7:28Then cried Iesus in the Temple as he taught, saying, Ye both know me, and ye know whence I am, and I am not come of my selfe, but he that sent me, is true, whom ye know not.
7:29But I know him, for I am from him, and he hath sent me.
7:30Then they sought to take him: but no man laid hands on him, because his houre was not yet come.
7:31And many of the people beleeued on him, & said, When Christ commeth, will hee doe moe miracles then these which this man hath done?
7:32The Pharisees heard that the people murmured such things concerning him: And the Pharisees and the chiefe Priests sent officers to take him.
7:33Then said Iesus vnto them, Yet a litle while am I with you, and then I goe vnto him that sent me.
7:34Ye shall seeke me, and shall not find me: and where I am, thither yee cannot come.
7:35Then saide the Iewes among themselues, Whither will hee goe, that we shall not find him? will he goe vnto the dispersed among the Gentiles, and teach the Gentiles?
7:36What maner of saying is this that he said, Ye shall seeke me, and shall not find me? and where I am, thither ye cannot come?
7:37In the last day, that great day of the feast, Iesus stood, and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come vnto me, and drinke.
7:38He that beleeueth on me, as the Scripture hath saide, out of his belly shall flow riuers of liuing water.
7:39(But this spake he of the Spirit which they that beleeue on him, should receiue. For the holy Ghost was not yet giuen, because that Iesus was not yet glorified.)
7:40Many of the people therefore, when they heard this saying, saide, Of a trueth this is the Prophet.
7:41Others said, This is the Christ. But some said, Shall Christ come out of Galilee?
7:42Hath not the Scripture saide, that Christ commeth of the seede of Dauid, and out of the towne of Bethlehem, where Dauid was?
7:43So there was diuision among the people because of him.
7:44And some of them would haue taken him, but no man layed hands on him.
7:45Then came the officers to the chiefe Priests and Pharises, and they said vnto them, Why haue ye not brought him?
7:46The officers answered, Neuer man spake like this man.
7:47Then answered them the Pharisees, Are ye also deceiued?
7:48Haue any of the rulers, or of the Pharises beleeued on him?
7:49But this people who knoweth not the Law, are cursed.
7:50Nicodemus saith vnto them, (He that came to Iesus by night, being one of them,)
7:51Doth our Law iudge any man before it heare him, & know what he doth?
7:52They answered, and said vnto him, Art thou also of Galilee? Search, and looke: for out of Galilee ariseth no Prophet.
7:53And euery man went vnto his owne house.

7:1After these thynges, Iesus went about in Galilee: For he would not go about in Iurie, because that the Iewes sought to kyll hym.
7:2The Iewes feaste of tabernacles was at hande.
7:3His brethren therfore sayde vnto him: Get thee hence, and go into Iurie, that thy disciples also may see thy workes that thou doest.
7:4For there is no man that doeth any thyng in secrete, and he hym selfe seketh to be knowen openly. Yf thou do suche thynges, shewe thy selfe to the worlde.
7:5For his brethren beleued not in hym.
7:6Then Iesus sayde vnto them, My tyme is not yet come: but your tyme is alway redy.
7:7The worlde can not hate you, but me it hateth, because I testifie of it, that the workes therof are euyll.
7:8Go ye vp vnto this feast: I wyll not go vp yet vnto this feast, for my tyme is not yet full come.
7:9When he had saide these wordes vnto them, he abode styll in Galilee.
7:10But assoone as his brethre were gone vp, then went he also vp vnto the feaste, not openly, but as it were priuilie.
7:11Then sought hym the Iewes at the feaste, and sayde, where is he?
7:12And much murmuryng of hym was there among the people: For some said, he is good: other sayde, nay, but he deceaueth the people.
7:13Howebeit, no man spake openlye of hym, for feare of the Iewes.
7:14Nowe when halfe of the feast was done, Iesus went vp into the temple, and taught.
7:15And the Iewes marueyled, saying: howe knoweth he the scriptures, seyng that he neuer learned?
7:16Iesus aunswered them, & sayde: My doctrine is not myne, but his yt sent me.
7:17Yf any man wyll do his wyll, he shall knowe of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speake of my selfe.
7:18He that speaketh of hym selfe, seketh his owne praise: But he that seketh his praise that sent hym, the same is true, & no vnryghteousnes is in hym.
7:19Dyd not Moyses geue you a lawe, & [yet] none of you kepeth the lawe? Why go ye about to kyll me?
7:20The people aunswered and sayde: Thou hast the deuyll, who goeth about to kyll thee?
7:21Iesus aunswered, & said vnto the: I haue done one worke, & ye al marueyle.
7:22Moyses therefore gaue vnto you the circumcisio (not because it is of Moyses, but of the fathers) And yet ye on the Sabboth day, circumcise a man.
7:23Yf a man on the Sabboth day receaue circumcision, without breakyng of the lawe of Moyses: disdayne ye at me, because I haue made a man euerywhyt whole on the Sabboth day?
7:24Iudge not after the [vtter] appearaunce, but iudge with a ryghteous iudgement.
7:25The sayde some of them of Hierusale: Is not this he, whom they go about to kyll?
7:26But loe, he speaketh boldly, & they saye nothyng to hym. Do the rulers knowe in deede that this is very Christ?
7:27Howbeit, we know this man whence he is: but when Christe cometh, no man knoweth whence he is.
7:28Then cryed Iesus in the temple, as he taught, saying: Ye both knowe me, and whence I am, ye knowe. And I am not come of my selfe: but he that set me is true, whom ye knowe not.
7:29But I knowe him, for I am of him, and he hath sent me.
7:30Then they sought to take hym: but no man layde handes on hym, because his houre was not yet come.
7:31Many of the people beleued on hym, and saide: When Christe commeth, wyl he do mo miracles [then these] that this man hath done?
7:32The pharisees hearde, that the people murmured such thinges concerning hym: And the pharisees and the hye priestes sent seruauntes to take hym.
7:33Then sayde Iesus vnto them: yet am I a litle whyle with you, and then go I vnto hym that sent me.
7:34Ye shall seke me, & shall not fynde me: & where I am thither can ye not come.
7:35Then sayde the Iewes among them selues: Whyther wyll he go, that we shall not fynde hym? Wyll he go vnto the dispearsed among the Gretians, & teache the gentiles?
7:36What [maner of] saying is this that he sayde, ye shall seke me, and shall not fynde me: and where I am, thyther can ye not come?
7:37In the last day, that great day of the feast, Iesus stoode and cryed, saying: Yf any man thirste, let him come vnto me and drynke:
7:38He that beleueth on me, as saith the scripture, out of his belly shall flowe ryuers of water of lyfe.
7:39(But this spake he of the spirite, which they yt beleue on hym, should receaue. For the holy ghost was not yet [there] because Iesus was not yet glorified.)
7:40Many of the people therfore, when they hearde this saying, sayde: Of a trueth this is the prophete.
7:41But other sayde, this is Christe: But some saide, shall Christe come out of Galilee?
7:42Sayth not the scripture, that Christe shall come of the seede of Dauid, and out of the towne of Bethlehem, where Dauid was?
7:43So was there discention among the people, because of hym.
7:44And some of them woulde haue taken hym, but no man layde handes on him.
7:45Then came the seruauntes to the hye priestes & pharisees: and they sayde vnto them, why haue ye not brought him?
7:46The seruauntes aunswered: Neuer man spake as this man doeth.
7:47Then aunswered them the pharisees: Are ye also deceaued?
7:48Doth any of the rulers or of the pharisees beleue on hym?
7:49But this [common] people which know not the lawe, are cursed.
7:50Nicodemus sayth vnto the, he that came to Iesus by nyght, and was one of them:
7:51Doth our lawe iudge any man, before it heare hym, and knowe what he hath done?
7:52They aunswered, and saide vnto him: Art thou also of Galilee? Search & loke: For out of Galilee aryseth no prophete.
7:53And euery man went vnto his owne house.

7:1After these things, Iesus walked in Galile, and woulde not walke in Iudea: for the Iewes sought to kill him.
7:2Nowe the Iewes feast of the Tabernacles was at hande.
7:3His brethren therefore sayde vnto him, Depart hence, and goe into Iudea, that thy disciples may see thy woorkes that thou doest.
7:4For there is no man that doeth any thing secretely, and hee himselfe seeketh to be famous. If thou doest these things, shewe thy selfe to the worlde.
7:5For as yet his brethren beleeued not in him.
7:6Then Iesus saide vnto them, My time is not yet come: but your time is alway readie.
7:7The world can not hate you: but me it hateth, because I testifie of it, that the workes thereof are euill.
7:8Go ye vp vnto this feast: I wil not go vp yet vnto this feast: for my time is not yet fulfilled.
7:9These things he sayde vnto them, and abode still in Galile.
7:10But assoone as his brethren were gone vp, then went hee also vp vnto the feast, not openly, but as it were priuilie.
7:11Then the Iewes sought him at the feast, and saide, Where is hee?

7:13Howbeit no man spake openly of him for feare of the Iewes.
7:14Nowe when halfe the feast was done, Iesus went vp into the Temple and taught.
7:15And the Iewes marueiled, saving, Howe knoweth this man the Scriptures, seeing that hee neuer learned!
7:16Iesus answered them, and saide, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me.
7:17If any man will doe his will, he shall knowe of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speake of my selfe.
7:18Hee that speaketh of himselfe, seeketh his owne glorie: but hee that seeketh his glory that sent him, the same is true, and no vnrighteousnes is in him.
7:19Did not Moses giue you a Law, and yet none of you keepeth the lawe? Why goe ye about to kill me?
7:20The people answered, and said, Thou hast a deuil: who goeth about to kill thee?
7:21Iesus answered, and saide to them, I haue done one worke, and ye all maruaile.
7:22Moses therefore gaue vnto you circumcision, (not because it is of Moses, but of the fathers) and ye on the Sabbath day circumcise a man.
7:23If a man on the Sabbath receiue circumcision, that the Lawe of Moses should not be broken, be ye angrie with me, because I haue made a man euery whit whole on the Sabbath day?

7:25Then saide some of them of Hierusalem, Is not this he, whom they goe about to kill?
7:26And beholde, he speaketh openly, and they say nothing to him: doe the rulers know in deede that this is in deede that Christ?
7:27Howbeit we know this man whence he is: but when that Christ commeth, no man shall knowe whence he is.
7:28Then cried Iesus in the Temple as hee taught, saying, Ye both knowe mee, and knowe whence I am: yet am I not come of my selfe, but he that sent me, is true, whome ye knowe not.
7:29But I knowe him: for I am of him, and he hath sent me.
7:30Then they sought to take him, but no man layde handes on him, because his houre was not yet come.
7:31Now many of the people beleeued in him, and said, When that Christ commeth, will he doe moe miracles then this man hath done?
7:32The Pharises heard that the people murmured these thinges of him, and the Pharises, and high Priestes sent officers to take him.
7:33Then saide Iesus vnto them, Yet am I a little while with you, and then goe I vnto him that sent mee.
7:34Ye shall seeke me, and shall not finde me, and where I am, can ye not come.
7:35Then saide the Iewes amongs themselues, Whither will he goe, that we shall not finde him? Will he goe vnto them that are dispersed among the Grecians, and teache the Grecians?
7:36What saying is this that hee saide, Ye shall seeke mee, and shall not finde mee? and where I am, cannot ye come?
7:37Nowe in the last and great day of the feast, Iesus stoode and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come vnto me, and drinke.
7:38Hee that beleeueth in mee, as saith the Scripture, out of his bellie shall flowe riuers of water of life.
7:39(This spake hee of the Spirite which they that beleeued in him, should receiue: for the holy Ghost was not yet giuen, because that Iesus was not yet glorified.)
7:40So many of the people, when they heard this saying, said, Of a trueth this is that Prophet.
7:41Other saide, This is that Christ: and some said, But shall that Christ come out of Galile?
7:42Saith not the Scripture that that Christ shall come of the seede of Dauid, and out of the towne of Beth-leem, where Dauid was?
7:43So was there dissension among the people for him.
7:44And some of them would haue taken him, but no man layde handes on him.

7:53And euery man wet vnto his owne house.
