John - Chapter: 10

>
10:1Uerily, verily I say vnto you, He that entreth not by ye doore into the sheepefold, but climeth vp some other way, the same is a theefe, and a robber.
10:2But hee that entreth in by the doore, is the shepherd of the sheepe.
10:3To him the porter openeth, and the sheepe heare his voyce, and he calleth his owne sheepe by name, and leadeth them out.
10:4And when he putteth foorth his owne sheepe, he goeth before them, and the sheepe follow him: for they know his voyce.
10:5And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him, for they know not the voyce of strangers.
10:6This parable spake Iesus vnto them: but they vnderstood not what things they were which he spake vnto them.
10:7Then said Iesus vnto them againe, Uerily, verily I say vnto you, I am the doore of the sheepe.
10:8All that euer came before me, are theeues and robbers: but the sheepe did not heare them.
10:9I am the doore by me if any man enter in, he shall be saued, and shall goe in and out, and find pasture.
10:10The theefe commeth not, but for to steale and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might haue life, and that they might haue it more abundantly.
10:11I am the good shepheard: the good shepheard giueth his life for the sheepe.
10:12But hee that is an hireling and not the shepheard, whose owne the sheepe are not, seeth the woolfe coming, and leaueth the sheep, and fleeth: and the woolfe catcheth them, and scattereth the sheepe.
10:13The hireling fleeth, because he is an hireling, & careth not for the sheepe.
10:14I am the good shepheard, and know my sheepe, and am knowen of mine.
10:15As the father knoweth me, euen so know I the father: & I lay downe my life for the sheepe.
10:16And other sheepe I haue, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall heare my voyce; and there shall be one fold, and one shepheard.
10:17Therefore doth my father loue me, because I lay downe my life that I might take it againe.
10:18No man taketh it from me, but I lay it downe of my selfe: I haue power to lay it downe, and I haue power to take it againe. This commandement haue I receiued of my father.
10:19There was a diuision therefore againe among the Iewes for these sayings.
10:20And many of them said, He hath a deuill, and is mad, why heare ye him?
10:21Others said, These are not the words of him that hath a deuill. Can a deuill open the eyes of the blind?
10:22And it was at Hierusalem the feast of the dedication, & it was winter.
10:23And Iesus walked in the temple in Solomons porch.
10:24Then came the Iewes round about him, and said vnto him, How long doest thou make vs to doubt? If thou be the Christ, tell vs plainely.
10:25Iesus answered them, I told you, and ye beleeued not: the workes that I doe in my Fathers name, they beare witnesse of me.
10:26But ye beleeue not, because ye are not of my sheepe, as I said vnto you.
10:27My sheepe heare my voyce, and I know them, and they follow me.
10:28And I giue vnto them eternall life, and they shall neuer perish, neither shall any man plucke them out of my hand.
10:29My father which gaue them me, is greater then all: and no man is able to plucke them out of my fathers hand.
10:30I and my father are one.
10:31Then the Iewes tooke vp stones againe to stone him.
10:32Iesus answered them, Many good workes haue I shewed you from my Father; for which of those workes doe ye stone me?
10:33The Iewes answered him, saying, For a good worke we stone thee not, but for blasphemy, and because that thou, being a man, makest thy selfe God.
10:34Iesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, ye are gods?
10:35If hee called them gods, vnto whom the word of God came, and the Scripture cannot be broken:
10:36Say ye of him, whom the father hath sanctified and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Sonne of God?
10:37If I doe not the workes of my Father, beleeue me not.
10:38But if I doe, though yee beleeue not me, beleeue the works: that ye may know and beleeue that the Father is in me, and I in him.
10:39Therefore they sought againe to take him: but hee escaped out of their hand,
10:40And went away againe beyond Iordane, into the place where Iohn at first baptized: and there he abode.
10:41And many resorted vnto him, and said, Iohn did no miracle: but all things that Iohn spake of this man, were true.
10:42And many beleeued on him there.

10:1Veryly, veryly, I say vnto you: He that entreth not in by ye doore into the sheepfolde, but clymeth vp some other way, the same is a thiefe, and a robber.
10:2But he that entreth in by the doore, is the sheephearde of the sheepe.
10:3To hym the porter openeth, and the sheepe heare his voyce, and he calleth his owne sheepe by name, and leadeth them out.
10:4And when he hath sent foorth his owne sheepe, he goeth before them, and the sheepe folowe hym: for they knowe his voyce.
10:5A straunger wyll they not folowe, but wyll flee from hym: for they knowe not the voyce of straungers.
10:6This prouerbe spake Iesus vnto them: But they vnderstoode not what thynges they were, which he spake vnto them.
10:7Then sayde Iesus vnto them againe. Ueryly, veryly, I say vnto you: I am the doore of the sheepe.
10:8All, euen as many as came before me, are thieues and robbers: but the sheepe dyd not heare them.
10:9I am the doore: by me yf any man enter in, he shalbe safe, and shall go in and out, and fynde pasture.
10:10A thiefe commeth not, but for to steale, kyll, & to destroy: I am come, that they myght haue lyfe, and that they myght haue it more aboundauntly.
10:11I am the good sheephearde. A good sheephearde, geueth his lyfe for the sheepe.
10:12An hyrelyng, and he which is not the sheephearde, neither the sheepe are his owne, seeth the wolfe commyng, and leaueth the sheepe, and fleeth, and the wolfe catcheth, & scattereth the sheepe.
10:13The hyrelyng fleeth, because he is an hyrelyng, and careth not for the sheepe.
10:14I am the good sheepheard, & knowe my sheepe, and am knowen of myne.
10:15As the father knoweth me, euen so, knowe I also the father: And I geue my lyfe for the sheepe.
10:16And other sheepe I haue, which are not of this folde: them also must I bryng, & they shall heare my voyce, and there shalbe one folde, and one sheepehearde.
10:17Therfore doth my father loue me, because I put my lyfe [from me,] that I myght take it agayne.
10:18No man taketh it from me: but I put it away of my selfe. I haue power to put it from me, and I haue power to take it agayne. This commaundement haue I receaued of my father.
10:19There was a discention therefore agayne among the Iewes, for these sayinges.
10:20And many of them sayde: He hath the deuyll, & is mad, why heare ye him?
10:21Other sayd: These are not ye wordes of hym that hath the deuyll. Can the deuyll open the eyes of the blynde?
10:22And it was at Hierusalem, the feast of the dedication, and it was wynter.
10:23And Iesus walked in the temple, euen in Solomons porche.
10:24Then came the Iewes rounde about hym, and sayde vnto hym: Howe long doest thou make vs doubt? Yf thou be Christe, tell vs playnely.
10:25Iesus aunswered them: I tolde you, and ye beleue not. The workes that I do in my fathers name, they beare witnesse of me.
10:26But ye beleue not, because ye are not of my sheepe, as I sayde vnto you.
10:27My sheepe heare my voyce, and I knowe them, and they folowe me:
10:28And I geue vnto them eternall lyfe, and they shal neuer perishe, neither shal any man plucke them out of my hande.
10:29My father which gaue them me, is greater then all: and no man is able to take them out of my fathers hande.
10:30I and my father are one.
10:31Then the Iewes agayne toke vp stones, to stone hym [withall.]
10:32Iesus aunswered them, Many good workes haue I shewed you from my father: for which of the do ye stone me?
10:33The Iewes aunswered hym, saying: For thy good workes [sake] we stone thee not, but for thy blasphemie, and because that thou beyng a man, makest thy selfe God.
10:34Iesus aunswered them: Is it not written in your lawe, I sayde, ye are Gods?
10:35If he called them Gods, vnto whom the worde of God was spoken, and the scripture can not be broken:
10:36Say ye of hym whom the father hath sanctified and sent into the worlde, thou blasphemest, because I saide I am the sonne of God?
10:37Yf I do not the workes of my father, beleue me not:
10:38But yf I do, and yf ye beleue not me, beleue the workes: that ye may knowe and beleue, that the father is in me, and I in hym.
10:39Agayne they went about to take hym: and he escaped out of their hande,
10:40And went away againe beyonde Iordane, into the place where Iohn before had baptized, and there he abode.
10:41And many resorted vnto hym, and sayde: Iohn dyd no miracle, but all thynges that Iohn spake of this man were true.
10:42And many beleued on hym there.

10:1Verely, verely I say vnto you, Hee that entreth not in by the doore into the sheepefolde, but climeth vp another way, he is a theefe and a robber.
10:2But he that goeth in by the doore, is the shepheard of the sheepe.
10:3To him the porter openeth, and the sheepe heare his voyce, and he calleth his owne sheepe by name, and leadeth them out.
10:4And when hee hath sent foorth his owne sheepe, he goeth before them, and the sheepe follow him: for they know his voyce.
10:5And they will not follow a stranger, but they flee from him: for they know not the voyce of strangers.
10:6This parable spake Iesus vnto them: but they vnderstoode not what things they were which he spake vnto them.
10:7Then sayd Iesus vnto them againe, Verely, verely I say vnto you, I am that doore of the sheepe.

10:10The theefe commeth not, but for to steale, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might haue life, and haue it in abundance.
10:11I am that good shepheard: that good shepheard giueth his life for his sheepe.
10:12But an hireling, and hee which is not the shepheard, neither the sheepe are his owne, seeth the wolfe comming, and hee leaueth the sheepe, and fleeth, and the wolfe catcheth them, and scattreth the sheepe.
10:13So the hireling fleeth, because he is an hireling, and careth not for the sheepe.
10:14I am that good shepheard, and knowe mine, and am knowen of mine.
10:15As the Father knoweth me, so know I the Father: and I lay downe my life for my sheepe.
10:16Other sheepe I haue also, which are not of this folde: them also must I bring, and they shall heare my voyce: and there shalbe one sheepefolde, and one shepheard.
10:17Therefore doeth my Father loue me, because I lay downe my life, that I might take it againe.
10:18No man taketh it from me, but I lay it downe of my selfe: I haue power to lay it downe, and haue power to take it againe: this commandement haue I receiued of my Father.
