13:1Before the feast of Easter when Iesus knew that hys houre was come, that he shulde depart oute of thys worlde vnto the father. When he loued his which were in the worlde, vnto the ende he loued them.
13:2And when supper was ended, after that the deuyl had put in the herte of Iudas Iscarioth Simons sonne, to betraye hym.
13:3Iesus knowyng that the father had geuen all thynges into hys handes, and that he was come from God, and went to God,
13:4he rose from supper, and layde asyde hys vpper garmentes, & toke a towell, and gyrde hym selfe.
13:5After that poured he water into a bason, & began to wash hys discyples fete, and to wype them wyth a towell, wherewith he was gyrde.
13:6Then came he to Symon Peter. And Peter sayde vnto hym: Lorde shalt thou washe my fete?
13:7Iesus aunswered, and sayed vnto him: what I do, thou wotest not nowe, but thou shalt knowe hereafter.
13:8Peter sayed vnto him: thou shalt not washe my fete whyle the worlde standeth. Iesus aunswered hym: yf I washe the not, thou shalte haue no parte with me.
13:9Simon Peter sayed vnto him: Lord not my fete onelye: but also my handes and my heade.
13:10Iesus sayed vnto hym: he that is washed, neadeth not saue to washe hys fete, and is cleane euery whyt. And ye are cleane: but not al.
13:11For he knewe hys betrayer. Therfore sayed he: ye are not all cleane.
13:12After he had washed theyr fete, and receyued hys clothes, and was set doune agayne, he sayed vnto them. Wote ye what I haue done to you?
13:13Ye call me mayster and Lorde, & ye saye well, for so am I.
13:14Yf I then your lord and mayster haue washed your fete, ye also ought to wash one anothers fete.
13:15For I haue geuen you an ensample, that ye shoulde do as I haue done to you.
13:16Verelye verelye I say vnto you: the seruaunte is not greater then hys mayster, neyther the messenger greater then he that sent hym.
13:17Yf ye vnderstande these thynges, happye are ye yf ye do then.
13:18I speake not of you all. I knowe whome I haue chosen. But that the scripture myght be fulfylled, he that eateth bread with me hath lyft vp hys hele agaynst me.
13:19Nowe tell I you before it come, that when it come to passe, ye myght beleue that I am he.
13:20Verelye verelye I saye vnto you. He that receyueth whomesoeuer I sende, receyueth me. And he that receyueth me, receyueth him that sent me.
13:21When Iesus had thus sayed, he was troubled in the spirite, and testifyed, saiynge: verelye verelye I saye vnto you, that one of you shall betraye me.
13:22And then the disciples loked one on another, doubtinge of whom he spake.
13:23There was one of hys disciples which leaned on Iesus bosome whome Iesus loued.
13:24To him beckened Simon Peter that he shuld axe who it was, of whom he spake.
13:25He then as he leaned on Iesus breste sayed vnto hym: Lorde who is it?
13:26Iesus aunswered, he it is to whom I geue a sop, when I haue depte it. And he wet a soppe, and gaue it to Iudas Iscaryoth Simons sonne.
13:27And after the sop Satan entred into hym. Then sayde Iesus vnto hym: that thou doest, do quickly.
13:28That wist no man at the table, for what intent he spake vnto hym.
13:29Some of them thought, because Iudas had the bagge, that Iesus had sayed vnto hym, bye those thinges that we haue nede of agaynst the feast: or that he shoulde geue some thyng to the poore.
13:30Assone then as he had receyued the sop, he went immediatlye out. And it was nyght.
13:31When he was gone oute, Iesus sayde: nowe is the sonne of man glorifyed. And God is glorified by hym.
13:32Yf God be glorifyed by hym, God shall also glorifye hym in hym selfe, and shall strayghte waye glorifye hym.
13:33Deare chyldren, yet a lytell whyle am I with you, ye shall seke me, and as I sayde vnto the Iewes: whyther I go, thyther can ye not come. Also to you saye I now:
13:34A newe commaundement geue I vnto you, that ye loue together, as I haue loued you, that euen so ye loue one another.
13:35By thys shall all men knowe that ye are my discyples, yf ye shall haue loue one to another.
13:36Simon Peter sayed vnto hym. Lorde whyther goest thou? Iesus aunswered hym: Whether I go thou canste not folowe me now, but thou shalt folow me afterwarde.
13:37Peter sayde vnto him: lorde, why can not I folowe the now? I wyll geue my lyfe for thy sake.
13:38Iesus aunswered hym: wilte thou geue thy lyfe for my sake? Verelye verelye I saye vnto the, the cocke shall not crowe, tyll thou haue denyed me thryse.

13:1Nowe before the feast of the Passeouer, when Iesus knewe that his houre was come, that he should depart out of this world vnto the Father, forasmuch as he loued his owne which were in the world, vnto the end he loued them.
13:2And when supper was done (and that the deuill had now put in the heart of Iudas Iscariot, Simons sonne, to betray him)
13:3Iesus knowing that the Father had giuen all things into his hands, and that he was come forth from God, and went to God,
13:4He riseth from supper, and layeth aside his vpper garments, and tooke a towel, and girded himselfe.
13:5After that, hee powred water into a basen, and began to wash the disciples feete, and to wipe them with the towell, wherewith he was girded.
13:6Then came he to Simon Peter, who sayd to him, Lord, doest thou wash my feete?
13:7Iesus answered and sayd vnto him, What I doe, thou knowest not nowe: but thou shalt knowe it hereafter.
13:8Peter said vnto him, Thou shalt neuer wash my feete. Iesus answered him, If I wash thee not, thou shalt haue no part with me.
13:9Simon Peter sayd vnto him, Lord, not my feete onely, but also the hands and the head.
13:10Iesus sayd to him, He that is washed, needeth not, saue to wash his feete, but is cleane euery whit: and ye are cleane, but not all.
13:11For hee knewe who should betray him: therefore sayd he, Ye are not all cleane.
13:12So after he had washed their feete, and had taken his garments, and was set downe againe, he sayd vnto them, Knowe ye what I haue done to you?
13:13Ye call me Master, and Lord, and ye say well: for so am I.
13:14If I then your Lord, and Master, haue washed your feete, ye also ought to wash one an others feete.
13:15For I haue giuen you an example, that ye should doe, euen as I haue done to you.
13:16Verely, verely I say vnto you, The seruant is not greater then his master, neither the ambassadour greater then he that sent him.
13:17If ye know these things, blessed are ye, if ye doe them.
13:18I speake not of you all: I know whom I haue chosen: but it is that the Scripture might be fulfilled, He that eateth bread with me, hath lift vp his heele against me.
13:19From henceforth tell I you before it come, that when it is come to passe, ye might beleeue that I am he.
13:20Verely, verely I say vnto you, If I send any, he that receiueth him, receiueth me, and hee that receiueth me, receiueth him that sent me.
13:21When Iesus had sayd these things, he was troubled in the Spirit, and testified, and said, Verely, verely I say vnto you, that one of you shall betray me.
13:22Then the disciples looked one on another, doubting of whom he spake.
13:23Nowe there was one of his disciples, which leaned on Iesus bosome, whom Iesus loued.
13:24To him beckened therefore Simon Peter, that he should aske who it was of whom he spake.
13:25He then, as he leaned on Iesus breast, saide vnto him, Lord, who is it?
13:26Iesus answered, He it is, to whome I shall giue a soppe, when I haue dipt it: and hee wet a soppe, and gaue it to Iudas Iscariot, Simons sonne.
13:27And after the soppe, Satan entred into him. Then sayd Iesus vnto him, That thou doest, doe quickly.
13:28But none of them that were at table, knew, for what cause he spake it vnto him.
13:29For some of them thought because Iudas had the bag, that Iesus had sayd vnto him, Buy those things that we haue neede of against ye feast: or that he should giue some thing to the poore.
13:30Assoone then as he had receiued the soppe, he went immediately out, and it was night.
13:31When hee was gone out, Iesus sayd, Nowe is the Sonne of man glorified, and God is glorified in him.
13:32If God be glorified in him, God shall also glorifie him in himselfe, and shall straightway glorifie him.
13:33Litle children, yet a litle while am I with you: ye shall seeke me, but as I sayde vnto the Iewes, Whither I goe, can ye not come: also to you say I nowe,
13:34A newe commandement giue I vnto you, that ye loue one another: as I haue loued you, that ye also loue one another.
13:35By this shall all men knowe that ye are my disciples, if ye haue loue one to another.
13:36Simon Peter said vnto him, Lord, whither goest thou? Iesus answered him, Whither I goe, thou canst not follow me nowe: but thou shalt follow me afterward.
13:37Peter sayd vnto him, Lord, why can I not follow thee now? I will lay downe my life for thy sake.
13:38Iesus answered him, Wilt thou lay downe thy life for my sake? Verely, verely I say vnto thee, The cocke shall not crowe, till thou haue denied me thrise.

13:1Now before the feast of the passover, when Jesus knew that his hour was come that he should depart out of this world unto the Father, having loved his own which were in the world, he loved them unto the end.
13:2And supper being ended, the devil having now put into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon's son, to betray him;
13:3Jesus knowing that the Father had given all things into his hands, and that he was come from God, and went to God;
13:4He riseth from supper, and laid aside his garments; and took a towel, and girded himself.
13:5After that he poureth water into a bason, and began to wash the disciples' feet, and to wipe them with the towel wherewith he was girded.
13:6Then cometh he to Simon Peter: and Peter saith unto him, Lord, dost thou wash my feet?
13:7Jesus answered and said unto him, What I do thou knowest not now; but thou shalt know hereafter.
13:8Peter saith unto him, Thou shalt never wash my feet. Jesus answered him, If I wash thee not, thou hast no part with me.
13:9Simon Peter saith unto him, Lord, not my feet only, but also my hands and my head.
13:10Jesus saith to him, He that is washed needeth not save to wash his feet, but is clean every whit: and ye are clean, but not all.
13:11For he knew who should betray him; therefore said he, Ye are not all clean.
13:12So after he had washed their feet, and had taken his garments, and was set down again, he said unto them, Know ye what I have done to you?
13:13Ye call me Master and Lord: and ye say well; for so I am.
13:14If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another's feet.
13:15For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you.
13:16Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him.
13:17If ye know these things, happy are ye if ye do them.
13:18I speak not of you all: I know whom I have chosen: but that the scripture may be fulfilled, He that eateth bread with me hath lifted up his heel against me.
13:19Now I tell you before it come, that, when it is come to pass, ye may believe that I am he.
13:20Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that receiveth whomsoever I send receiveth me; and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me.
13:21When Jesus had thus said, he was troubled in spirit, and testified, and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, that one of you shall betray me.
13:22Then the disciples looked one on another, doubting of whom he spake.
13:23Now there was leaning on Jesus' bosom one of his disciples, whom Jesus loved.
13:24Simon Peter therefore beckoned to him, that he should ask who it should be of whom he spake.
13:25He then lying on Jesus' breast saith unto him, Lord, who is it?
13:26Jesus answered, He it is, to whom I shall give a sop, when I have dipped it. And when he had dipped the sop, he gave it to Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon.
13:27And after the sop Satan entered into him. Then said Jesus unto him, That thou doest, do quickly.
13:28Now no man at the table knew for what intent he spake this unto him.
13:29For some of them thought, because Judas had the bag, that Jesus had said unto him, Buy those things that we have need of against the feast; or, that he should give something to the poor.
13:30He then having received the sop went immediately out: and it was night.
13:31Therefore, when he was gone out, Jesus said, Now is the Son of man glorified, and God is glorified in him.
13:32If God be glorified in him, God shall also glorify him in himself, and shall straightway glorify him.
13:33Little children, yet a little while I am with you. Ye shall seek me: and as I said unto the Jews, Whither I go, ye cannot come; so now I say to you.
13:34A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.
13:35By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.
13:36Simon Peter said unto him, Lord, whither goest thou? Jesus answered him, Whither I go, thou canst not follow me now; but thou shalt follow me afterwards.
13:37Peter said unto him, Lord, why cannot I follow thee now? I will lay down my life for thy sake.
13:38Jesus answered him, Wilt thou lay down thy life for my sake? Verily, verily, I say unto thee, The cock shall not crow, till thou hast denied me thrice.
