| 2:1 | And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. |
| 2:2 | And suddenly there came a sound from heauen as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. |
| 2:3 | And there appeared vnto them clouen tongues, like as of fire, and it sate vpon each of them. |
| 2:4 | And they were all filled with the holy Ghost, and began to speake with other tongues, as the spirit gaue them vtterance. |
| 2:5 | And there were dwelling at Hierusalem Iewes, deuout men, out of euery nation vnder heauen. |
| 2:6 | Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that euery man heard them speake in his owne language. |
| 2:7 | And they were all amazed, and marueiled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speake, Galileans? |
| 2:8 | And how heare we euery man in our owne tongue, wherein we were borne? |
| 2:9 | Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and the dwellers in Mesopotamia, and in Iudea, and Cappadocia, in Pontus, and Asia, |
| 2:10 | Phrygia, and Pamphylia, in Egypt, and in the parts of Libya, about Cyrene, & strangers of Rome, Iewes and Proselites, |
| 2:11 | Cretes, and Arabians, we doe heare them speake in our tongues the wonderfull workes of God. |
| 2:12 | And they were all amazed, and were in doubt, saying one to another, What meaneth this? |
| 2:13 | Others mocking said, These men are full of new wine. |
| 2:14 | But Peter standing vp with the eleuen, lift vp his voyce, and said vnto them, Ye men of Iudea, & all ye that dwell at Hierusalem, be this knowen vnto you, and hearken to my words: |
| 2:15 | For these are not drunken, as ye suppose, seeing it is but the third houre of the day. |
| 2:16 | But this is that which was spoken by the Prophet Ioel, |
| 2:17 | And it shall come to passe in the last dayes (saith God) I will powre out of my Spirit vpon all flesh: and your sonnes and your daughters shall prophesie, and your yong men shall see visions, and your old men shall dreame dreames: |
| 2:18 | And on my seruants, and on my handmaidens, I will powre out in those daies of my Spirit, and they shall prophesie: |
| 2:19 | And I wil shew wonders in heauen aboue, and signes in the earth beneath: blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke. |
| 2:20 | The Sunne shall be turned into darkenesse, and the Moone into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord come. |
| 2:21 | And it shall come to passe, that whosoeuer shall call on the Name of the Lord, shalbe saued. |
| 2:22 | Yee men of Israel, heare these words, Iesus of Nazareth, a man approued of God among you, by miracles, wonders, and signes, which God did by him in the midst of you, as yee your selues also know: |
| 2:23 | Him, being deliuered by the determinate counsell and foreknowledge of God, yee haue taken, and by wicked hands, haue crucified, and slaine: |
| 2:24 | Whom God hath raised vp, hauing loosed the paines of death: because it was not possible that hee should be holden of it. |
| 2:25 | For Dauid speaketh concerning him, I foresaw the Lord alwayes before my face, for he is on my right hand, that I should not be moued. |
| 2:26 | Therefore did my heart reioyce, and my tongue was glad: Moreouer also, my flesh shall rest in hope, |
| 2:27 | Because thou wilt not leaue my soule in hell, neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy one to see corruption. |
| 2:28 | Thou hast made knowen to mee the wayes of life, thou shalt make mee full of ioy with thy countenance. |
| 2:29 | Men and brethren, let me freely speake vnto you of the Patriarch Dauid, that he is both dead & buried, and his sepulchre is with vs vnto this day: |
| 2:30 | Therefore being a Prophet, and knowing that God had sworne with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loines, according to the flesh, hee would raise vp Christ, to sit on his throne: |
| 2:31 | He seeing this before, spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soule was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption. |
| 2:32 | This Iesus hath God raised vp, whereof we all are witnesses. |
| 2:33 | Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and hauing receiued of the Father the promise of the holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and heare. |
| 2:34 | For Dauid is not ascended into the heauens, but he saith himselfe, The Lord said vnto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, |
| 2:35 | Untill I make thy foes thy footstoole. |
| 2:36 | Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Iesus, whom ye haue crucified, both Lord and Christ. |
| 2:37 | Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said vnto Peter, and to the rest of the Apostles, Men and brethren, What shall we doe? |
| 2:38 | Then Peter said vnto them, Repent, and be baptized euery one of you in the Name of Iesus Christ, for the remission of sinnes, and ye shal receiue the gift of the holy Ghost. |
| 2:39 | For the promise is vnto you, and to your children, and to all that are afarre off, euen as many as the Lord our God shall call. |
| 2:40 | And with many other words did hee testifie and exhort, saying, Saue your selues from this vntoward generation. |
| 2:41 | Then they that gladly receiued his word, were baptized: and the same day there were added vnto them about three thousand soules. |
| 2:42 | And they continued stedfastly in the Apostles doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in praiers. |
| 2:43 | And feare came vpon euery soule: and many wonders and signes were done by the Apostles. |
| 2:44 | And all that beleeued were together, and had all things common, |
| 2:45 | And solde their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as euery man had need. |
| 2:46 | And they continuing daily with one accord in the Temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladnesse and singlenesse of heart, |
| 2:47 | Praising God, and hauing fauour with all the people. And the Lord added to the Church dayly such as should be saued. |
| 2:1 | And whan the Whit sondaye was fulfylled, they were all with one acorde together in one place. |
| 2:2 | And sodenly there came a sounde from heauen, as it had bene the comynge of a mightie wynde, and it fylled the whole house where they sat. |
| 2:3 | And there appeared vnto them clouen tunges, like as they had bene of fyre. And he sat vpon ech one of them, |
| 2:4 | and they were all fylled with the holy goost. And they beganne to preach with other tunges, euen as the sprete gaue them vtteraunce. |
| 2:5 | There were dwellinge at Ierusalem Iewes, men that feared God, out of euery nacion that is vnder heauen. |
| 2:6 | Now whan this voyce came to passe, the multitude came together, and were astonyed: For euery one herde, that they spake with his awne tunge. |
| 2:7 | They wondred all and marueyled, and sayde amonge them selues: Beholde, are not all these which speake, of Galile? |
| 2:8 | How heare we the euery one his awne tunge, wherin we were borne? |
| 2:9 | Parthians and Medes, and Elamites, and we that dwell in Mesopotamia, and in Iewry and Capadocia, Pontus, and Asia, |
| 2:10 | Phrigia and Pamphilia, Egipte, and in the partes of Lybia by Cyren, and straungers of Rome, Iewes and Proselytes, |
| 2:11 | Cretes and Arabians: we heare them speake with oure awne tunges the greate workes of God. |
| 2:12 | They were all amased, and wondred, and sayde one to another: What wil this be? |
| 2:13 | But other mocked them, and sayde: They are full of swete wyne. |
| 2:14 | Then stode Peter vp with the eleuen, and lift vp his voyce, and sayde vnto them: Ye men of Iewry, and all ye that dwell at Ierusale, be this knowne vnto you, and let my wordes entre in at youre eares. |
| 2:15 | For these are not dronken, as ye suppose, for it is yet but the thirde houre of ye daye: |
| 2:16 | but this is it, that was spoke before by the prophet Ioel: |
| 2:17 | And it shal come to passe in the last dayes, sayeth God, I will poure out of my sprete vpon all flesh, and youre sonnes and youre doughters shal prophecye, and youre yonge men shal se visions and youre olde men shall dreame dreames, |
| 2:18 | and on my seruauntes and on my handmaydens wyll I poure out of my sprete in those dayes, & they shal prophecye. |
| 2:19 | And I wil shewe wonders in heauen aboue, and tokens on the earth beneth, bloude and fyre, and the vapoure of smoke. |
| 2:20 | The Sonne shalbe turned in to darknesse, and the Moone in to bloude, before that greate and notable daye of the LORDE come. |
| 2:21 | And it shall come to passe, Who so euer shal call vpo the name of the LORDE, shalbe saued. |
| 2:22 | Ye men of Israel, heare these wordes: Iesus of Nazareth, ye man approued of God amonge you with miracles, and wonders and tokens, which God dyd by him in the myddes amonge you, as ye yor selues knowe also, |
| 2:23 | him (after that he was delyuered by the determinate councell and foreknowlege of God) haue ye taken by the handes of vnrighteous personnes, and crucifyed him, & slayne him, |
| 2:24 | who God hath raysed vp, and lowsed the sorowes of death, for so moch as it was vnpossyble that he shulde be holden of it. |
| 2:25 | For Dauid speaketh of him: Afore honde haue I set the LORDE allwayes before me, for he is on my right hode, that I shulde not be moued. |
| 2:26 | Therfore dyd my hert reioyse, and my tunge was glad: For my flesh also shal rest in hope. |
| 2:27 | For thou shalt not leaue my soule in hell, nether shalt thou suffer yi Holy to se corrupcion. |
| 2:28 | Thou hast shewed me the wayes of life, thou shalt make me full of ioye with thy countenaunce. |
| 2:29 | Ye men and brethren, let me frely speake vnto you of the Patryarke Dauid: For he is deed and buried, and his sepulcre is with vs vnto this daye. |
| 2:30 | Wherfore now seinge yt he was a prophet, and knewe that God had promised him with an ooth, that the frute of his loynes shulde syt on his seate, |
| 2:31 | he sawe it before, and spake of the resurreccion of Christ: for his soule was not left in hell, nether hath his flesh sene corrupcion. |
| 2:32 | This Iesus hath God raysed vp, wherof we all are witnesses. |
| 2:33 | Seynge now that he by the right hande of God is exalted, and hath receaued of ye father ye promyse of the holy goost, he hath shed forth this, that ye se and heare. |
| 2:34 | For Dauid is not ascended in to heauen, but he sayde: The LORDE sayde vnto my LORDE: Syt thou on my righte hande, |
| 2:35 | vntyll I make thine enemies yi fote stole. |
| 2:36 | So therfore let all the house of Israel knowe for a suertye, yt God hath made this same Iesus (whom ye haue crucified) LORDE and Christ. |
| 2:37 | Whan they herde this, their hert pricked them, and they sayde vnto Peter and to the other Apostles: Ye men and brethre, What shal we do? |
| 2:38 | Peter sayde onto them: Amede youre selues, and let euery one of you be baptysed in the name of Iesus Christ, for the remyssion of synnes, and ye shal receaue the gifte of the holy goost. |
| 2:39 | For this promyse was made vnto you and youre children, and to all that are farre of, who so euer the LORDE oure God shal call. |
| 2:40 | And wt many other wordes bare he witnesse, and exorted them, and sayde: Saue youre selues from this vntowarde generacion. |
| 2:41 | They that gladly receaued his preachinge, were baptysed, & the same daye there were added vnto them aboute thre thousande soules. |
| 2:42 | They contynued in the Apostles doctryne, and in the felashippe, and in breakynge of bred, and in prayer. |
| 2:43 | And feare came vpo euery soule, and many wonders and tokens were done by ye Apostles. |
| 2:44 | But all they that beleued, were together, and had all thinges commen. |
| 2:45 | They solde their goodes and possessions, and parted them out amonge all, acordinge as euery ma had nede. |
| 2:46 | And they contynued daylie with one acorde in the teple, and brake bred in euery house: they toke their meate with ioye & synglenesse of hert, |
| 2:47 | praysinge God, and had fauoure with all ye people. And the LORDE added to the congregacion daylie soch as shulde be saued. |
| 2:1 | And whanne the daies of Pentecost weren fillid, alle the disciplis weren togidre in the same place. |
| 2:2 | And sodeynli ther was maad a sown fro heuene, as of a greet wynde comynge, and it fillide al the hous where thei saten. |
| 2:3 | And diuerse tungis as fier apperiden to hem, and it sat on ech of hem. |
| 2:4 | And alle weren fillid with the Hooli Goost, and thei bigunnen to speke diuerse langagis, as the Hooli Goost yaf to hem for to speke. |
| 2:5 | And ther weren in Jerusalem dwellinge Jewis, religiouse men, of ech nacioun that is vndur heuene. |
| 2:6 | And whanne this vois was maad, the multitude cam togidere, and thei weren astonyed in thouyt, for ech man herde hem spekinge in his langage. |
| 2:7 | And alle weren astonyed, and wondriden, and seiden togidere, Whether not alle these that speken ben men of Galyle, |
| 2:8 | and hou herden we ech man his langage in which we ben borun? |
| 2:9 | Parthi, and Medi, and Elamyte, and thei that dwellen at Mesopotami, Judee, and Capodosie, and Ponte, |
| 2:10 | and Asie, Frigie, and Pamfilie, Egipt, and the parties of Libie, that is aboue Sirenen, and `comelingis Romayns, and Jewis, |

| 2:13 | And othere scorneden, and seiden, For these men ben ful of must. |
| 2:14 | But Petre stood with the enleuene, and reiside vp his vois, and spak to hem, Ye Jewis, and alle that dwellen at Jerusalem, be this knowun to you, and with eris perseyue ye my wordis. |
| 2:15 | For not as ye wenen, these ben dronkun, whanne it is the thridde our of the dai; |

| 2:25 | For Dauid seith of hym, Y saiy afer the Lord bifore me euermore, for he is on my riythalf, that Y be not mouyd. |
| 2:26 | For this thing myn herte ioiede, and my tunge made ful out ioye, and more ouere my fleisch schal reste in hope. |
| 2:27 | For thou schalt not leeue my soule in helle, nethir thou schalt yiue thin hooli to se corrupcioun. |
| 2:28 | Thou hast maad knowun to me the weies of lijf, thou schalt fille me in myrthe with thi face. |
| 2:29 | Britheren, be it leueful boldli to seie to you of the patriark Dauid, for he is deed and biried, and his sepulcre is among vs in to this dai. |
| 2:30 | Therfore whanne he was a prophete, and wiste, that with a greet ooth God hadde sworn to hym, that of the fruyt of his leende schulde oon sitte on his seete, |
