| 4:1 | And as they spake vnto the people, the Priests and the captaine of the Temple, and the Sadduces came vpon them, |
| 4:2 | Being grieued that they taught the people, and preached through Iesus the resurrection from the dead. |
| 4:3 | And they laid hands on them, and put them in hold vnto the next day: for it was now euentide. |
| 4:4 | Howbeit, many of them which heard the word, beleeued, and the number of the men was about fiue thousand. |
| 4:5 | And it came to passe on the morow, that their rulers, and Elders, and Scribes, |
| 4:6 | And Annas the high Priest, and Caiphas, and Iohn, and Alexander, and as many as were of the kinred of the high Priest, were gathered together at Hierusalem. |
| 4:7 | And when they had set them in the middest, they asked, By what power, or by what name haue ye done this? |
| 4:8 | Then Peter filled with the holy Ghost, said vnto them, Ye rulers of the people, and Elders of Israel, |
| 4:9 | If we this day be examined of the good deed done to the impotent man, by what meanes he is made whole, |
| 4:10 | Be it knowen vnto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the Name of Iesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whome God raised from the dead, euen by him, doeth this man stand here before you, whole. |
| 4:11 | This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner. |
| 4:12 | Neither is there saluation in any other: for there is none other name vnder heauen giuen among men whereby we must be saued. |
| 4:13 | Now when they sawe the boldnesse of Peter and Iohn, and perceiued that they were vnlearned and ignorant men, they marueiled, and they tooke knowledge of them, that they had bene with Iesus. |
| 4:14 | And beholding the man which was healed, standing with them, they could say nothing against it. |
| 4:15 | But when they had commanded them to go aside out of the Council, they conferred among themselues, |
| 4:16 | Saying, What shall we do to these men? for that indeed a notable miracle hath bene done by them, is manifest to all them that dwell in Hierusalem, and we cannot denie it. |
| 4:17 | But that it spread no farther among the people, let vs straitly threaten them, that they speake henceforth to no man in this Name. |
| 4:18 | And they called them, and commanded them, not to speake at all, nor teach in the Name of Iesus. |
| 4:19 | But Peter and Iohn answered, and said vnto them, Whether it be right in the sight of God, to hearken vnto you more then vnto God, iudge ye. |
| 4:20 | For wee cannot but speake the things which we haue seene and heard. |
| 4:21 | So when they had further threatned them, they let them goe, finding nothing how they might punish them, because of the people: for all men glorified God for that which was done. |
| 4:22 | For the man was aboue fourtie yeeres olde, on whome this miracle of healing was shewed. |
| 4:23 | And being let goe, they went to their owne company, and reported all that the chiefe Priests and Elders had said vnto them. |
| 4:24 | And when they heard that, they lift vp their voyce to God with one accord, & said, Lord, thou art God which hast made heauen and earth, and the sea, and all that in them is, |
| 4:25 | Who by the mouth of thy seruant Dauid hast saide, Why did the heathen rage, and the people imagine vaine things? |
| 4:26 | The Kings of the earth stood vp, and the rulers were gathered together against the Lord, & against his Christ. |
| 4:27 | For of a trueth against thy holy child Iesus, whom thou hast anointed, both Herod, and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles, and the people of Israel were gathered together, |
| 4:28 | For to doe whatsoeuer thy hand and thy counsell determined before to be done. |
| 4:29 | And now Lord, behold their threatnings, and graunt vnto thy seruants, that with all boldnesse they may speake thy word, |
| 4:30 | By stretching foorth thine hand to heale: and that signes and wonders may be done by the Name of thy holy child Iesus. |
| 4:31 | And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together, and they were all filled with the holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldnesse. |
| 4:32 | And the multitude of them that beleeued, were of one heart, and of one soule: Neither said any of them, that ought of the things which he possessed, was his owne, but they had all things common. |
| 4:33 | And with great power gaue the Apostles witnesse of the resurrection of the Lord Iesus, and great grace was vpon them all. |
| 4:34 | Neither was there any among them that lacked: For as many as were possessors of lands, or houses, sold them, and brought the prices of the things that were solde, |
| 4:35 | And laide them downe at the Apostles feete: And distribution was made vnto euery man according as hee had neede. |
| 4:36 | And Ioses, who by the Apostles was surnamed Barnabas (which is, being interpreted, The sonne of consolation) a Leuite, and of the Countrey of Cyprus, |
| 4:37 | Hauing land, sold it, and brought the money, & laid it at the Apostles feet. |
| 4:1 | And as they spake vnto ye people, the priestes & the ruler of the temple, and the saducees, came vpon them, |
| 4:2 | Takyng it greuously that they taught the people, and preached in Iesus the resurrection from the dead. |
| 4:3 | And they layde handes on them, and put them in holde, vntyll the next day: for it was nowe euentyde. |
| 4:4 | Howbeit, many of them which hearde the worde, beleued: and the number of the men was about fyue thousande. |
| 4:5 | And it came to passe on the morowe, that their rulers, and elders, & scribes, |
| 4:6 | And Annas the chiefe priest, and Caiaphas, and Iohn, and Alexander, and as many as were of the kynrede of the hye priestes, were gathered together at Hierusalem. |
| 4:7 | And when they had set them before them, they asked: by what power, or in what name haue ye done this? |
| 4:8 | Then Peter, full of the holy ghost, sayde vnto them: Ye rulers of the people, and elders of Israel, |
| 4:9 | If we this day be examined of the good deede done to the sicke man, by what meanes he is made whole: |
| 4:10 | Be it knowen vnto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Iesus Christe of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raysed agayne from the dead: euen by hym doth this man stande here before you whole. |
| 4:11 | This is the stone which was cast asyde of you buylders, which is the head of the corner: |
| 4:12 | Neither is there saluation in any other. For among men vnder heauen, there is geuen none other name, wherin we must be saued. |
| 4:13 | Nowe when they sawe the boldnesse of Peter and Iohn, and vnderstoode that they were vnlearned and lay men, they marueyled, and they knewe them that they had ben with Iesu: |
| 4:14 | And beholdyng also the man which was healed, standyng with them, they coulde not say agaynst it, |
| 4:15 | But commaundyng them to go asyde out of the counsel, and counseled among them selues, |
| 4:16 | Saying: What shall we do to these men? For a manifest signe is done by them, and is openly knowen to all them that dwell in Hierusalem, and we can not denie it. |
| 4:17 | But that it be noysed no farther among the people, let vs threaten and charge them that they speake hencefoorth to no man in this name. |
| 4:18 | And they called them, and commaunded them, that in no wyse they shoulde speake, nor teache in the name of Iesu. |
| 4:19 | But Peter and Iohn aunswered, and sayde vnto them: Whether it be ryght in the syght of God, to hearken vnto you more then to God, iudge ye. |
| 4:20 | For we cannot but speake that, which we haue seene and hearde. |
| 4:21 | So threatned they them, and let them go, and founde nothyng how to punishe them, because of the people: For all men praysed God, because of that which was done. |
| 4:22 | For the man was about fourtie yere olde, on whom this miracle of healyng was shewed. |
| 4:23 | Then assoone as they were let go, they came to their felowes, and shewed all that the hye priestes and elders had sayde vnto them. |
| 4:24 | And when they hearde that, they lyft vp their voyces to God with one accorde, and sayde: Lorde, thou art God, which hast made heauen and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, |
| 4:25 | Which by the mouth of thy seruaunt Dauid, hast sayde: Why dyd the Heathen rage, & the people imagine vayne thynges? |
| 4:26 | The kynges of the earth stoode vp, and the rulers came together, agaynst the Lorde, and agaynst his Christe. |
| 4:27 | And of a trueth, agaynst thy holye chylde Iesus, who thou hast anoynted, both Herode and also Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles, and the people of Israel, gathered them selues together, |
| 4:28 | For to do whatsoeuer thy hande & thy counsel determined before to be done. |
| 4:29 | And nowe Lorde, beholde their threatnynges, & graunt vnto thy seruauntes, that with all boldensse they may speake thy worde. |
| 4:30 | So that thou stretch foorth thyne hande, that healyng, and signes, and wonders, be done by the name of thy holy chylde Iesus. |
| 4:31 | And assoone as they had prayed, the place moued where they were assembled together, and they were all fylled with the holy ghost, and they spake the worde of God boldely. |
| 4:32 | And the multitude of them that beleued, were of one heart, and of one soule: Neither sayde any of them, that ought of ye thynges which he possessed, was his owne: but they had all thinges common. |
| 4:33 | And with great power gaue the Apostles witnesse of the resurrection of the Lorde Iesu: And great grace was with them all. |
| 4:34 | Neither was there any among them, that lacked: For as many as were possessers of landes, or houses, solde them, & brought the price of the thynges that were solde, |
| 4:35 | And layed it downe at the Apostles feete: And distribution was made vnto euery man, accordyng as he had neede. |
| 4:36 | And Ioses, which was also called of the Apostles Barnabas (that is to say) the sonne of consolation, being a Leuite, and of the countrey of Cypers, |
| 4:37 | When he had lande, solde it, and layde the money downe at the Apostles feete. |
| 4:1 | And as they spake vnto the people, the Priestes and the Captaine of the Temple, and the Sadduces came vpon them, |
| 4:2 | Taking it grieuously that they taught the people, and preached in Iesus Name the resurrection from the dead. |
| 4:3 | And they layde handes on them, and put them in holde, vntill the next day: for it was now euentide. |
| 4:4 | Howbeit, many of them which heard the word, beleeued, and the number of the men was about fiue thousand. |
| 4:5 | And it came to passe on the morow, that their rulers, and Elders, and Scribes, were gathered together at Hierusalem, |
| 4:6 | And Annas the chiefe Priest, and Caiaphas, and Iohn, and Alexander, and as many as were of the kindred of the hie Priestes. |
| 4:7 | And whe they had set them before them, they asked, By what power, or in what Name haue ye done this? |
| 4:8 | Then Peter ful of the holy Ghost, said vnto them, Ye rulers of the people, and Elders of Israel, |
| 4:9 | For as much as we this day are examined of the good deede done to the impotent man, to wit, by what meanes he is made whole, |
| 4:10 | Be it knowen vnto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye haue crucified, whome God raised againe from the dead, euen by him doth this man stand here before you, whole. |
| 4:11 | This is the stone cast aside of you builders which is become the head of the corner. |
| 4:12 | Neither is there saluation in any other: for among men there is giuen none other Name vnder heauen, whereby we must be saued. |
| 4:13 | Now when they sawe the boldnes of Peter and Iohn, and vnderstoode that they were vnlearned men and without knowledge, they marueiled, and knew them, that they had bin with Iesus: |
| 4:14 | And beholding also the man which was healed standing with them, they had nothing to say against it. |
| 4:15 | Then they commanded them to goe aside out of the Council, and conferred among themselues, |

| 4:19 | But Peter and Iohn answered vnto them, and said, Whether it be right in the sight of God, to obey you rather then God, iudge ye. |
