6:1In those dayes as the numbre of the disciples grewe, ther arose a a grudge amonge the Grekes agaynste the Hebrues, because their widdowes were despysed in the dayly ministracion.
6:2Then the twelue called the multitude of the dysciples together and saide: it is not mete that we shoulde leaue the worde of God and serue at the tables.
6:3Wherfore brethren, loke ye out amonge you seuen men of honeste reporte, and full of the holye ghoste and wysdome, whyche we maye apoint to this nedfull busines.
6:4But we wyl geue our selues continually to prayer, and to the ministracion of the word.
6:5And the saiynge pleased the whole multitude. And they chose Stephan a man full of faieth and of the holye ghost, and Philip, and Prochorus, and Nichanor, and Timon, and Permenas, and Nicholas a conuerte of Antioche.
6:6Whiche they set before the Apostles, and they praied and laide their handes on them.
6:7And the worde of God encreased, and the numbre of the disciples multiplyed in Hierusalem greatly, and a great companye of the priestes were obedient to the faith.
6:8And Stephane ful of fayth and power, dyd greate wounders and miracles amonge the people.
6:9Then arose certaine of the Synagoge, whyche are called Lybertines and Syrenites, and of Alexandria, and of Cilicia, and Asia, and disputed with Stephan.
6:10And they could not resist the wysdome, and the spyryte wt whyche he spake.
6:11Then sent they in men, whiche said: we haue heard him speake blasphemous wordes against Moyses and against God.
6:12And they moued the people and the elders and the scribes: and came vpon him and caught hym,
6:13and brought him to the counsell and brought forth false witnesses whiche sayde. This man ceaseth not to speake blaspemous wordes against thys holy place, and the lawe,
6:14for we hearde him saie: this Iesus of Nazareth shall destroye this place, and shal chaung the ordinaunces, which Moises gaue vs.
6:15And al that sate in the counsel loked stedfastlye on hym, and saw hys face as it had bene the face of an aungel.

6:8And Steuen, full of fayth and power, dyd great wondres and miracles amonge the people.
6:9Then ther arose certen of the Synagoges, which is called the Synagoge of the Libertynes and Sirenytes, and of Alexandria, and of Celicia, and of Asia, disputynge with Steuen.
6:10And they coulde not resyste the wisdome, & the sprete, which spake.
6:11Then sent they in men, which sayde: we haue hearde hym speake blasphemous wordes against Moses, and agaynst God.
6:12And they moued the people and the elders and the scribes: and came vpon him and caught hym,
6:13and brought him to the councell, and brought forth false witnesse, which sayde: Thys man ceaseth not to speake blasphemous wordes against this holy place and the lawe:
6:14for we heard him saye: this Iesus of Nazareth shal destroye this place, and shal chaunge the ordinaunces, which Moses gaue vs.
6:15And all that sate in the counsell, loked stedfastly on him, and sawe his face as it had bene the face of an aungell.

6:2Then the twelue called the multitude of the disciples together, and sayd, It is not meete that we should leaue the worde of God to serue the tables.
6:3Wherefore brethren, looke ye out among you seuen men of honest report, and full of the holy Ghost, and of wisedome, which we may appoint to this busines.
6:4And we will giue our selues continually to prayer, and to the ministration of the worde.
6:5And the saying pleased the whole multitude: and they chose Steuen a man full of fayth and of the holy Ghost, and Philippe, and Prochorus, and Nicanor, and Timon, and Parmenas, and Nicolas a Proselyte of Antiochia,
6:6Which they set before the Apostles: and they prayed, and layed their hands on them.
6:7And the worde of God increased, and the nomber of the disciples was multipled in Hierusalem greatly, and a great company of the Priests were obedient to the faith.
6:8Now Steuen full of faith and power, did great wonders and miracles among the people.
6:9Then there arose certaine of the Synagogue, which are called Libertines, and Cyrenians, and of Alexandria, and of them of Cilicia, and of Asia, and disputed with Steuen.
6:10But they were not able to resist the wisdome, and the Spirit by the which he spake.
6:11Then they suborned men, which saide, We haue heard him speake blasphemous wordes against Moses, and God.
6:12Thus they mooued the people and the Elders, and the Scribes: and running vpon him, caught him, and brought him to the Councill,
6:13And set forth false witnesses, which sayd, This man ceasseth not to speake blasphemous wordes against this holy place, and the Law.
6:14For we haue heard him say, that this Iesus of Nazareth shall destroy this place, and shall change the ordinances, which Moses gaue vs.
6:15And as all that sate in the Councill, looked stedfastly on him, they saw his face as it had bene the face of an Angel.
