8:1	And Saul was assenting to his death, and there came in that day a great persecution upon the assembly in Jerusalem, all also were scattered abroad in the regions of Judea and Samaria, except the apostles;
8:2	and devout men carried away Stephen, and made great lamentation over him;
8:3	and Saul was making havoc of the assembly, into every house entering, and haling men and women, was giving them up to prison;
8:4	they then indeed, having been scattered, went abroad proclaiming good news -- the word.
8:5	And Philip having gone down to a city of Samaria, was preaching to them the Christ,
8:6	the multitudes also were giving heed to the things spoken by Philip, with one accord, in their hearing and seeing the signs that he was doing,
8:7	for unclean spirits came forth from many who were possessed, crying with a loud voice, and many who have been paralytic and lame were healed,
8:8	and there was great joy in that city.
8:9	And a certain man, by name Simon, was before in the city using magic, and amazing the nation of Samaria, saying himself to be a certain great one,
8:10	to whom they were all giving heed, from small unto great, saying, `This one is the great power of God;'
8:11	and they were giving heed to him, because of his having for a long time amazed them with deeds of magic.
8:12	And when they believed Philip, proclaiming good news, the things concerning the reign of God and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized both men and women;
8:13	and Simon also himself did believe, and, having been baptized, he was continuing with Philip, beholding also signs and mighty acts being done, he was amazed.
8:14	And the apostles in Jerusalem having heard that Samaria hath received the word of God, did send unto them Peter and John,
8:15	who having come down did pray concerning them, that they may receive the Holy Spirit, --
8:16	for as yet he was fallen upon none of them, and only they have been baptized -- to the name of the Lord Jesus;
8:17	then were they laying hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit.
8:18	And Simon, having beheld that through the laying on of the hands of the apostles, the Holy Spirit is given, brought before them money,
8:19	saying, `Give also to me this authority, that on whomsoever I may lay the hands, he may receive the Holy Spirit.'
8:20	And Peter said unto him, `Thy silver with thee -- may it be to destruction! because the gift of God thou didst think to possess through money;
8:21	thou hast neither part nor lot in this thing, for thy heart is not right before God;
8:22	reform, therefore, from this thy wickedness, and beseech God, if then the purpose of thy heart may be forgiven thee,
8:23	for in the gall of bitterness, and bond of unrighteousness, I perceive thee being.'
8:24	And Simon answering, said, `Beseech ye for me unto the Lord, that nothing may come upon me of the things ye have spoken.'
8:25	They indeed, therefore, having testified fully, and spoken the word of the Lord, did turn back to Jerusalem; in many villages also of the Samaritans they did proclaim good news.
8:26	And a messenger of the Lord spake unto Philip, saying, `Arise, and go on toward the south, on the way that is going down from Jerusalem to Gaza,' -- this is desert.
8:27	And having arisen, he went on, and lo, a man of Ethiopia, a eunuch, a man of rank, of Candace the queen of the Ethiopians, who was over all her treasure, who had come to worship to Jerusalem;
8:28	he was also returning, and is sitting on his chariot, and he was reading the prophet Isaiah.
8:29	And the Spirit said to Philip, `Go near, and be joined to this chariot;'
8:30	and Philip having run near, heard him reading the prophet Isaiah, and said, `Dost thou then know what thou dost read?'
8:31	and he said, `Why, how am I able, if some one may not guide me?' he called Philip also, having come up, to sit with him.
8:32	And the contents of the Writing that he was reading was this: `As a sheep unto slaughter he was led, and as a lamb before his shearer dumb, so he doth not open his mouth;
8:33	in his humiliation his judgment was taken away, and his generation -- who shall declare? because taken from the earth is his life.'
8:34	And the eunuch answering Philip said, `I pray thee, about whom doth the prophet say this? about himself, or about some other one?'
8:35	and Philip having opened his mouth, and having begun from this Writing, proclaimed good news to him -- Jesus.
8:36	And as they were going on the way, they came upon a certain water, and the eunuch said, `Lo, water; what doth hinder me to be baptized?'
8:37	`And Philip said, `If thou dost believe out of all the heart, it is lawful;' and he answering said, `I believe Jesus Christ to be the Son of God;''
8:38	and he commanded the chariot to stand still, and they both went down to the water, both Philip and the eunuch, and he baptized him;
8:39	and when they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught away Philip, and the eunuch saw him no more, for he was going on his way rejoicing;
8:40	and Philip was found at Azotus, and passing through, he was proclaiming good news to all the cities, till his coming to Cesarea.

8:2	Then devout men dressed Steven aud made great lamentacion over him.
8:3	But Saul made havocke of the congregacion entrynge into every housse and drewe out bothe man and woman and thrust the into preson.
8:4	They that were scattered abroade went every where preachyng the worde.
8:5	Then came Philip into a cite of Samaria and preached Christ vnto them.
8:6	And the people gave hede vnto those thinges which Philip spake with one acorde in that they hearde and sawe the miracles which he dyd.
8:7	For vnclene spretes cryinge with loude voyce came out of many that were possessed of them. And manye taken with palsies and many yt halted were healed
8:8	And ther was great ioye in that cite.
8:9	And ther was a certayne man called Simon which before tyme in the same cite vsed witche crafte and bewitched the people of Samarie sayinge that he was a man yt coulde do greate thinges
8:10	Whom they regarded from ye lest to the greatest sayinge: this felow is the great power of God.
8:11	And him they set moche by because of longe tyme with sorcery he had mocked the.
8:12	But assone as they beleved Philippes preachynge of the kyngdome of God and of the name of Iesu Christ they were baptised bothe men and wemen.
8:13	Then Simon him selfe beleved also and was baptised and cotinued with Phillip and wondered beholdynge the miracles and signes which were shewed.
8:14	When ye Apostles which were at Ierusalem hearde saye that Samaria had receaved ye worde of God: they sent vnto the Peter and Iohn
8:15	which when they were come prayed for the that they myght receave ye holy goost
8:16	For as yet he was come on none of them: But they were baptised only in the name of Christ Iesu.
8:17	Then layde they their hondes on them and they receaved the holy goost.
8:18	When Simo sawe that thorowe layinge on of the Apostles hondes on them the holy goost was geven: he offered the money
8:19	sayinge: Geve me also this power that on whom soever I put the hondes he maye receave the holy goost.
8:20	Then sayde Peter vnto him: thy monye perysh with the because thou wenest that the gifte of God maye be obteyned wt money.
8:21	Thou hast nether parte nor felloushippe in this busines. For thy hert is not ryght in the syght of God.
8:22	Repent therfore of this thy wickednes and praye God that ye thought of thyne hert maye be forgeven the.
8:23	For I perceave that thou arte full of bitter gall and wrapped in iniquite.
8:24	Then answered Simon and sayde: Praye ye to the lorde for me yt none of these thinges whiche ye have spoken fall on me.
8:25	And they whe they had testified and preached the worde of the lorde returned toward Ierusalem and preached the gospell in many cities of the Samaritas.
8:26	Then the angell of the lorde spake vnto Phillip sayinge: aryse and goo towardes mydde daye vnto ye waye yt goeth doune fro Ierusalem vnto Gaza which is in ye desert.
8:27	And he arose and wet on. And beholde a man of Ethiopia which was a chaberlayne and of grete auctorite wt Cadace quene of ye Ethiopias and had ye rule of all her treasure came to Ierusalem for to praye.
8:28	And as he returned home agayne sittynge in his charet he rede Esay ye prophet
8:29	Then ye sprete sayde vnto Phillip: Goo neare and ioyne thy selfe to yonder charet.
8:30	And Philip ranne to him and hearde him rede ye prophet Esayas and sayde: Vnderstondest thou what thou redest?
8:31	And he sayd: how can I except I had a gyde? And he desyred Philip that he wold come vp and sit wt him.
8:32	The tenoure of ye scripture which he redde was this. He was ledde as a shepe to be slayne: and lyke a lambe dome before his sherer so opened he not his mouth.
8:33	Because of his humblenes he was not estemed: who shall declare his generacio? for his lyfe is taken fro the erthe.
8:34	The chamberlayne answered Philip and sayde: I praye the of whom speaketh the Prophet this? of him selfe or of some other man?
8:35	And Philip opened his mouth and beganne at ye same scripture and preached vnto him Iesus.
8:36	And as they went on their waye they came vnto a certayne water and the chamberlayne sayde: Se here is water what shall let me to be baptised?
8:37	Philip sayde vnto him: Yf thou beleve with all thyne hert thou mayst. He answered and sayde: I beleve that Iesus Christe is the sonne of God.
8:38	And he comaunded the charet to stonde still. And they went doune bothe into the water: bothe Philip and also the chamberlayne and he baptised him.
8:39	And assone as they were come out of the water the sprete of the lorde caught awaye Philip yt the chamberlayne sawe him no moore. And he wet on his waye reioysinge:
8:40	but Philip was founde at Azotus. And he walked thorow out ye countre preachynge in their cities tyll he came to Cesarea.

8:10	And they all regarded him from the leest vnto ye greatest, & sayde: This is the power of God which is greate.
8:11	But they regarded him, because that of longe tyme he had bewitched them with his sorcery.
8:12	Howbeit whan they beleued Philips preachinge of ye kyngdome of God, and of the name of Iesu Christ, they were baptysed both me & weme.
8:13	Then Symon himself beleued also, and was baptysed, and cleued vnto Philippe. And wha he sawe the dedes and tokens that were done, he wondred.
8:14	Whan the Apostles which were at Ierusalem, herde, that Samaria had receaued ye worde of God, they sent vnto the Peter and Ihon.
8:15	Which, wha they were come, prayed for the, yt they might receaue the holy goost.
8:16	For as yet he was come vpon none of them but they were baptysed onely in the name of Christ Iesu.
8:17	Then layed they their hades on them, and they receaued the holy goost.
8:18	But whan Simon sawe, that by the layenge on of the Apostles hades ye holy goost was geuen, he offred the money,

8:21	Thou shalt haue nether parte ner felashipe in this worde, for yi hert is not righte before God.
8:22	Repente therfore of this yi wickednesse, and praye vnto God, yf happly the thought of thy hert maye be forgeue ye.
8:23	For I se, yt thou art full of bytter gall, and wrapped in wt vnrighteousnesse.
8:24	Then answered Simon, & sayde: Praye ye vnto the LORDE for me, yt none of these thinges wherof ye haue spoken, come vpon me.
8:25	And they, wha they had testified and spoke the worde of the LORDE, turned agayne to Ierusalem, and preached the Gospell in many townes of the Samaritanes.
8:26	But the angell of the LORDE spake vnto Philippe, and sayde: Aryse, & go towarde the South, vnto the waye that goeth downe from Ierusalem vnto Gaza, which is deserte.
8:27	And he rose, and wente on. And beholde, a ma of the Morians lode (a chamberlayne and of auctorite with Candace ye quene of the londe of the Morians) which had the rule of all hir treasuries, ye same came to Ierusale to worshipe.
8:28	And returned home agayne, and satt vpon his charet, and red the prophet Esay.
8:29	The sprete sayde vnto Philippe: Go neare, and ioyne thy selfe to yonder charet.
8:30	The ranne Philippe vnto him, and herde him rede the prophet Esay, and sayde: Vnderstodest thou what thou readest?
8:31	He sayde: How can I, excepte some ma enfourme me?And he desyred Philippe, that he wolde come vp, and syt with him.
8:32	The tenoure of the scripture which he red, was this: He was led as a shepe to be slayne, and as a lambe voycelesse before his sherer, so opened he not his mouth.
8:33	In his humblenesse is his iudgment exalted. Who shal declare his generacion? for his life is taken awaye from the earth.
8:34	Then answered the chamberlayne vnto Philippe, and sayde: I praye the, of whom speaketh the prophet this? of himselfe, or of some other man?
8:35	Philippe opened his mouth, and beganne at this scripture, and preached him the Gospell of Iesus.
8:36	And as they wete on their waye, they came to a water. And the chamberlayne sayde: Beholde, here is water, what hyndereth me to be baptysed?
8:37	Philippe sayde: Yf thou beleue from thy whole herte, thou mayest. He answered, and sayde: I beleue, that Iesus Christ is the sonne of God.
8:38	And he commaunded to holde styll the charet, and they wente downe in to the water, both Philippe and the chamberlayne. And he baptysed him.
8:39	But whan they were come vp out of the water, the sprete of the LORDE toke Philippe awaye. And the Chamberlayne sawe him nomore. But he wente on his waye reioysinge.
8:40	As for Philippe, he was founde at Assdod, and walked aboute, and preached the Gospell vnto all the cities, tyll he came to Cesarea.
