11:1	Nowe the Apostles and the brethren that were in Iudea, heard, that the Gentiles had also receiued the worde of God.
11:2	And when Peter was come vp to Hierusalem, they of the circumcision contended against him,
11:3	Saying, Thou wentest in to men vncircumcised, and hast eaten with them.
11:4	Then Peter beganne, and expounded the thing in order to them, saying,
11:5	I was in the citie of Ioppa, praying, and in a trance I sawe this vision, A certaine vessell comming downe as it had bene a great sheete, let downe from heauen by the foure corners, and it came to me.
11:6	Towarde the which when I had fastened mine eyes, I considered, and sawe foure footed beastes of the earth, and wilde beastes, and creeping things, and foules of the heauen.
11:7	Also I heard a voyce, saying vnto me, Arise, Peter: slay and eate.
11:8	And I said, God forbid, Lord: for nothing polluted or vncleane hath at any time entred into my mouth.
11:9	But the voyce answered me the seconde time from heauen, The things that God hath purified, pollute thou not.
11:10	And this was done three times, and all were taken vp againe into heauen.
11:11	Then behold, immediatly there were three men already come vnto the house where I was, sent from Cesarea vnto me.
11:12	And the Spirit saide vnto me, that I should go with them, without doubting: moreouer these sixe brethren came with me, and we entred into the mans house.
11:13	And he shewed vs, howe he had seene an Angel in his house, which stoode and said to him, Send men to Ioppa, and call for Simon, whose surname is Peter.
11:14	He shall speake wordes vnto thee, whereby both thou and all thine house shalbe saued.
11:15	And as I began to speake, the holy Ghost fell on them, euen as vpon vs at the beginning.
11:16	Then I remembred the word of the Lord, howe he said, Iohn baptized with water, but ye shalbe baptized with the holy Ghost.
11:17	For as much then as God gaue them a like gift, as he did vnto vs, when we beleeued in the Lord Iesus Christ, who was I, that I coulde let God?
11:18	When they heard these things, they helde their peace, and glorified God, saying, Then hath God also to the Gentiles graunted repentance vnto life.
11:19	And they which were scattered abroade because of the affliction that arose about Steuen, went throughout till they came vnto Phenice and Cyprus, and Antiochia, preaching the worde to no man, but vnto the Iewes onely.
11:20	Now some of them were men of Cyprus and of Cyrene, which when they were come into Antiochia, spake vnto the Grecians, and preached the Lord Iesus.
11:21	And the hand of the Lord was with them, so that a great number beleeued and turned vnto the Lord.
11:22	Then tydings of those things came vnto the eares of the Church, which was in Hierusalem, and they sent foorth Barnabas, that he should goe vnto Antiochia.
11:23	Who when he was come and had seene the grace of God, was glad, and exhorted all, that with purpose of heart they would continue in the Lord.
11:24	For he was a good man, and full of the holy Ghost, and faith, and much people ioyned them selues vnto the Lord.
11:25	Then departed Barnabas to Tarsus to seeke Saul:
11:26	And when he had founde him, he brought him vnto Antiochia: and it came to passe that a whole yere they were conuersant with ye Church, and taught much people, in so much that the disciples were first called Christians in Antiochia.
11:27	In those dayes also came Prophets from Hierusalem vnto Antiochia.
11:28	And there stoode vp one of them named Agabus, and signified by the Spirit, that there should be great famine throughout all the world, which also came to passe vnder Claudius Cesar.
11:29	Then the disciples, euery man according to his ability, purposed to sende succour vnto the brethren which dwelt in Iudea.
11:30	Which thing they also did, and sent it to the Elders, by the hand of Barnabas and Saul.

11:2	And when Peter was come up to Jerusalem, they that were of the circumcision contended with him,
11:3	Saying, Thou wentest in to men uncircumcised, and didst eat with them.
11:4	But Peter rehearsed the matter from the beginning, and expounded it by order unto them, saying,
11:5	I was in the city of Joppa praying: and in a trance I saw a vision, A certain vessel descend, as it had been a great sheet, let down from heaven by four corners; and it came even to me:
11:6	Upon the which when I had fastened mine eyes, I considered, and saw fourfooted beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air.
11:7	And I heard a voice saying unto me, Arise, Peter; slay and eat.
11:8	But I said, Not so, Lord: for nothing common or unclean hath at any time entered into my mouth.
11:9	But the voice answered me again from heaven, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common.
11:10	And this was done three times: and all were drawn up again into heaven.
11:11	And, behold, immediately there were three men already come unto the house where I was, sent from Caesarea unto me.
11:12	And the Spirit bade me go with them, nothing doubting. Moreover these six brethren accompanied me, and we entered into the man's house:
11:13	And he shewed us how he had seen an angel in his house, which stood and said unto him, Send men to Joppa, and call for Simon, whose surname is Peter;
11:14	Who shall tell thee words, whereby thou and all thy house shall be saved.
11:15	And as I began to speak, the Holy Ghost fell on them, as on us at the beginning.
11:16	Then remembered I the word of the Lord, how that he said, John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost.
11:17	Forasmuch then as God gave them the like gift as he did unto us, who believed on the Lord Jesus Christ; what was I, that I could withstand God?
11:18	When they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, Then hath God also to the Gentiles granted repentance unto life.
11:19	Now they which were scattered abroad upon the persecution that arose about Stephen travelled as far as Phenice, and Cyprus, and Antioch, preaching the word to none but unto the Jews only.
11:20	And some of them were men of Cyprus and Cyrene, which, when they were come to Antioch, spake unto the Grecians, preaching the Lord Jesus.
11:21	And the hand of the Lord was with them: and a great number believed, and turned unto the Lord.
11:22	Then tidings of these things came unto the ears of the church which was in Jerusalem: and they sent forth Barnabas, that he should go as far as Antioch.
11:23	Who, when he came, and had seen the grace of God, was glad, and exhorted them all, that with purpose of heart they would cleave unto the Lord.
11:24	For he was a good man, and full of the Holy Ghost and of faith: and much people was added unto the Lord.
11:25	Then departed Barnabas to Tarsus, for to seek Saul:
11:26	And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.
11:27	And in these days came prophets from Jerusalem unto Antioch.
11:28	And there stood up one of them named Agabus, and signified by the Spirit that there should be great dearth throughout all the world: which came to pass in the days of Claudius Caesar.
11:29	Then the disciples, every man according to his ability, determined to send relief unto the brethren which dwelt in Judaea:
11:30	Which also they did, and sent it to the elders by the hands of Barnabas and Saul.


11:1	ηκουσαν δε οι αποστολοι και οι αδελφοι οι οντες κατα την ιουδαιαν οτι και τα εθνη εδεξαντο τον λογον του θεου
11:2	και οτε ανεβη πετρος εις ιεροσολυμα διεκρινοντο προς αυτον οι εκ περιτομης
11:3	λεγοντες οτι προς ανδρας ακροβυστιαν εχοντας εισηλθες και συνεφαγες αυτοις
11:4	αρξαμενος δε ο πετρος εξετιθετο αυτοις καθεξης λεγων
11:5	εγω ημην εν πολει ιοππη προσευχομενος και ειδον εν εκστασει οραμα καταβαινον σκευος τι ως οθονην μεγαλην τεσσαρσιν αρχαις καθιεμενην εκ του ουρανου και ηλθεν αχρις εμου
11:6	εις ην ατενισας κατενοουν και ειδον τα τετραποδα της γης και τα θηρια και τα ερπετα και τα πετεινα του ουρανου
11:7	ηκουσα δε φωνης λεγουσης μοι αναστας πετρε θυσον και φαγε
11:8	ειπον δε μηδαμως κυριε οτι παν κοινον η ακαθαρτον ουδεποτε εισηλθεν εις το στομα μου
11:9	απεκριθη δε μοι φωνη εκ δευτερου εκ του ουρανου α ο θεος εκαθαρισεν συ μη κοινου
11:10	τουτο δε εγενετο επι τρις και παλιν ανεσπασθη απαντα εις τον ουρανον
11:11	και ιδου εξαυτης τρεις ανδρες επεστησαν επι την οικιαν εν η ημην απεσταλμενοι απο καισαρειας προς με
11:12	ειπεν δε μοι το πνευμα συνελθειν αυτοις μηδεν διακρινομενον ηλθον δε συν εμοι και οι εξ αδελφοι ουτοι και εισηλθομεν εις τον οικον του ανδρος
11:13	απηγγειλεν τε ημιν πως ειδεν τον αγγελον εν τω οικω αυτου σταθεντα και ειποντα αυτω αποστειλον εις ιοππην ανδρας και μεταπεμψαι σιμωνα τον επικαλουμενον πετρον
11:14	ος λαλησει ρηματα προς σε εν οις σωθηση συ και πας ο οικος σου
11:15	εν δε τω αρξασθαι με λαλειν επεπεσεν το πνευμα το αγιον επ αυτους ωσπερ και εφ ημας εν αρχη
11:16	εμνησθην δε του ρηματος κυριου ως ελεγεν ιωαννης μεν εβαπτισεν υδατι υμεις δε βαπτισθησεσθε εν πνευματι αγιω
11:17	ει ουν την ισην δωρεαν εδωκεν αυτοις ο θεος ως και ημιν πιστευσασιν επι τον κυριον ιησουν χριστον εγω δε τις ημην δυνατος κωλυσαι τον θεον
11:18	ακουσαντες δε ταυτα ησυχασαν και εδοξαζον τον θεον λεγοντες αραγε και τοις εθνεσιν ο θεος την μετανοιαν εδωκεν εις ζωην
11:19	οι μεν ουν διασπαρεντες απο της θλιψεως της γενομενης επι στεφανω διηλθον εως φοινικης και κυπρου και αντιοχειας μηδενι λαλουντες τον λογον ει μη μονον ιουδαιοις
11:20	ησαν δε τινες εξ αυτων ανδρες κυπριοι και κυρηναιοι οιτινες εισελθοντες εις αντιοχειαν ελαλουν προς τους ελληνιστας ευαγγελιζομενοι τον κυριον ιησουν
11:21	και ην χειρ κυριου μετ αυτων πολυς τε αριθμος πιστευσας επεστρεψεν επι τον κυριον
11:22	ηκουσθη δε ο λογος εις τα ωτα της εκκλησιας της εν ιεροσολυμοις περι αυτων και εξαπεστειλαν βαρναβαν διελθειν εως αντιοχειας
11:23	ος παραγενομενος και ιδων την χαριν του θεου εχαρη και παρεκαλει παντας τη προθεσει της καρδιας προσμενειν τω κυριω
11:24	οτι ην ανηρ αγαθος και πληρης πνευματος αγιου και πιστεως και προσετεθη οχλος ικανος τω κυριω
11:25	εξηλθεν δε εις ταρσον ο βαρναβας αναζητησαι σαυλον
11:26	και ευρων αυτον ηγαγεν αυτον εις αντιοχειαν εγενετο δε αυτους ενιαυτον ολον συναχθηναι εν τη εκκλησια και διδαξαι οχλον ικανον χρηματισαι τε πρωτον εν αντιοχεια τους μαθητας χριστιανους
11:27	εν ταυταις δε ταις ημεραις κατηλθον απο ιεροσολυμων προφηται εις αντιοχειαν
11:28	αναστας δε εις εξ αυτων ονοματι αγαβος εσημανεν δια του πνευματος λιμον μεγαν μελλειν εσεσθαι εφ ολην την οικουμενην οστις και εγενετο επι κλαυδιου καισαρος
11:29	των δε μαθητων καθως ηυπορειτο τις ωρισαν εκαστος αυτων εις διακονιαν πεμψαι τοις κατοικουσιν εν τη ιουδαια αδελφοις
11:30	ο και εποιησαν αποστειλαντες προς τους πρεσβυτερους δια χειρος βαρναβα και σαυλου
