| 11:1 | And the Apostles, and brethren that were in Iudea, heard that the Gentiles had also receiued the word of God. |
| 11:2 | And when Peter was come vp to Hierusalem, they that were of the circumcision contended with him, |
| 11:3 | Saying, Thou wentest in to men vncircumcised, & didst eate with them. |
| 11:4 | But Peter rehearsed the matter from the beginning, and expounded it by order vnto them, saying, |
| 11:5 | I was in the citie of Ioppa praying, and in a trance I saw a vision, a certaine vessell descend, as it had beene a great sheete, let downe from heauen by foure corners, and it came euen to me. |
| 11:6 | Upon the which when I had fastened mine eyes, I considered, and saw foure footed beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and foules of the aire. |
| 11:7 | And I heard a voyce, saying vnto me, Arise Peter, slay, and eate. |
| 11:8 | But I said, Not so, Lord: for nothing common or vncleane hath at any time entred into my mouth. |
| 11:9 | But the voyce answered me againe from heauen, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common. |
| 11:10 | And this was done three times: and all were drawen vp againe into heauen. |
| 11:11 | And behold, immediately there were three men already come vnto the house where I was, sent from Cesarea vnto me. |
| 11:12 | And the spirit bad me goe with them, nothing doubting: Moreouer, these sixe brethren accompanied me, and we entred into the mans house: |
| 11:13 | And he shewed vs how hee had seene an Angell in his house, which stood and said vnto him, Send men to Ioppa, and call for Simon, whose sirname is Peter: |
| 11:14 | Who shall tell thee words, wherby thou, and all thy house shal be saued. |
| 11:15 | And as I began to speake, the holy Ghost fell on them, as on vs at the beginning. |
| 11:16 | Then remembred I the word of the Lord, how that he said, Iohn indeede baptized with water: but ye shall be baptized with the holy Ghost. |
| 11:17 | Forasmuch then as God gaue them the like gift as hee did vnto vs, who beleeued on the Lord Iesus Christ: what was I that I could withstand God? |
| 11:18 | When they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, Then hath God also to the Gentiles granted repentance vnto life. |
| 11:19 | Now they which were scattered abroad vpon the persecution that arose about Steuen, trauailed as farre as Phenice, and Cyprus, and Antioch, preaching the word to none, but vnto the Iewes onely. |
| 11:20 | And some of them were men of Cyprus, and Cyrene, which when they were come to Antioch, spake vnto the Grecians, preaching the Lord Iesus. |
| 11:21 | And the hand of the Lord was with them: and a great number beleeued, and turned vnto the Lord. |
| 11:22 | Then tidings of these things came vnto the eares of the Church, which was in Hierusalem: and they sent foorth Barnabas, that hee should goe as farre as Antioch. |
| 11:23 | Who when hee came, and had seene the grace of God, was glad, and exhorted them all, that with purpose of heart they would cleaue vnto the Lord. |
| 11:24 | For he was a good man, and full of the holy Ghost, and of faith: and much people was added vnto the Lord. |
| 11:25 | Then departed Barnabas to Tarsus, for to seeke Saul. |
| 11:26 | And when he had found him, he brought him vnto Antioch. And it came to passe, that a whole yeere they assembled themselues with the Church, and taught much people, and the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch. |
| 11:27 | And in these dayes, came Prophets from Hierusalem vnto Antioch. |
| 11:28 | And there stood vp one of them, named Agabus, and signified by the spirit, that there should be great dearth throughout all the world: which came to passe in the dayes of Claudius Cesar. |
| 11:29 | Then the disciples, euery man according to his abilitie, determined to send reliefe vnto the brethren which dwelt in Iudea. |
| 11:30 | Which also they did, and sent it to the Elders by the hands of Barnabas and Saul. |

| 11:6 | Into the which I loked, and considered, and sawe foure foted beestes of the earth, and wylde beestes, and wormes, and foules of the ayre. |
| 11:7 | And I herde a voyce, which sayde vnto me: Ryse Peter, slaye, & eate. |
| 11:8 | But I sayde: Oh no, LORDE, for there neuer entred eny commen or vncleane thinge in to my mouth. |
| 11:9 | Neuertheles the voyce answered me agayne from heauen: What God hath clensed, that call not thou vncleane. |
| 11:10 | This was done thre tymes, and all was taken vp agayne in to heauen. |
| 11:11 | And beholde, immediatly stode there thre men before the dore of the house that I was in, sent from Cesarea vnto me. |
| 11:12 | But the sprete sayde vnto me, that I shulde go with the and doute nothinge. These sixe brethre also came with me, and we entred in to the mas house. |
| 11:13 | And he shewed vs, how he had sene an angell stondinge in his house, which sayde vnto him: Sende men to Ioppa, and call for Simon (whose syrname is Peter) |
| 11:14 | he shal tell ye wordes, wherby thou and all thy house shal be saued. |
| 11:15 | But whan I beganne to speake, the holy goost fell vpo them, like as vpon vs at ye begynnynge. |
| 11:16 | Then thoughte I vpon the worde of the LORDE, how he sayde: Ihon baptysed with water, but ye shalbe baptysed with ye holy goost. |
| 11:17 | For as moch then as God hath geuen them like giftes, as vnto vs, which beleue on the LORDE Iesus Christ, who was I, that I shulde be able to withstode God? |
| 11:18 | Whan they herde this, they helde their peace, and praysed God, and sayde: Then hath God also to the Heithen graunted repentaunce vnto life. |
| 11:19 | They that were scatred abrode thorow ye trouble yt rose aboute Steuen, walked on euerysyde vntyll Phenices, and Cipers, and Antioche, and spake the worde vnto no man but onely vnto ye Iewes. |
| 11:20 | Neuertheles some of the were men of Cipers and Cyren, which came to Antioche, and spake also vnto the Grekes, & preached the Gospell of the LORDE Iesu. |
| 11:21 | And ye hande of the LORDE was with the. And a greate nombre beleued, and turned vnto the LORDE. |
| 11:22 | This tydinges of them came to ye eares of the cogregacion at Ierusalem. And they sent Barnabas, that he shulde go vnto Antioche. |
| 11:23 | Which whan he was come thither, & sawe the grace of God, he was glad, and exorted them all, that with purpose of hert they wolde contynue in the LORDE. |
| 11:24 | For he was a good man, full of the holy goost and faith. And there was a greate multitude of people added vnto the LORDE. |
| 11:25 | But Barnabas departed vnto Tharsus, to seke Saul |
| 11:26 | And wha he had foude hi, he brought hi to Anthioche. It chauced, that a whole yeare they were there couersaunte together in the cogregacio, & taughte moch people, so that the disciples at Antioche were first called Christen. |
| 11:27 | In those dayes came there prophetes fro Ierusalem vnto Antioche. |
| 11:28 | And one of them (whose name was Agabus) stode vp, and declared by the sprete a greate derth, that shulde come ouer the whole compasse of the earth: which came to passe vnder the Emperoure Claudius. |
| 11:29 | But the disciples cocluded (euery one acordinge to his abylite) to sende an handreachinge vnto ye brethren that were in Iewry: |
| 11:30 | which thinge they also dyd, and sent it by the handes of Barnabas and Saul. |

| 11:2 | But whanne Petre cam to Jerusalem, thei that weren of circumcisioun, disputiden ayens hym, |
| 11:3 | and seiden, Whi entridist thou to men that han prepucie, and hast eete with hem? |
| 11:4 | And Petre bigan, and expownede to hem bi ordre, |
| 11:5 | and seide, Y was in the citee of Joppe, and preiede, and Y sai in rauysching of my mynde a visioun, that a vessel cam doun, as a greet scheete with foure coordis, and was sent doun fro heuene; and it cam to me. |
| 11:6 | In to which Y lokinge biheld, and sai foure footid beestis of the erthe, and beestis, and crepynge beestis, and volatils of heuene. |
| 11:7 | And Y herde also a vois that seide to me, Petre, rise thou, and sle, and eete. |
| 11:8 | But Y seide, Nay, Lord; for comyn thing ether vnclene entride neuer in to my mouth. |
| 11:9 | And the vois answeride the secounde tyme fro heuene, That thing that God hath clensid, seie thou not vnclene. |
| 11:10 | And this was don bi thries, and alle thingis weren resseyued ayen in to heuene. |
| 11:11 | And lo! thre men anoon stooden in the hous, in which Y was; and thei weren sent fro Cesarie to me. |
| 11:12 | And the spirit seide to me, that Y schulde go with hem, and doute no thing. Yhe, and these sixe britheren camen with me, and we entriden in to the hous of the man. |
| 11:13 | And he telde to vs, how he say an aungel in his hous, stondinge and seiynge to hym, Sende thou in to Joppe, and clepe Symount, that is named Petre, which schal speke to thee wordis, |
| 11:14 | in whiche thou schalt be saaf, and al thin hous. |
| 11:15 | And whanne Y hadde bigunnun to speke, the Hooli Goost felle on hem, as in to vs in the bigynnyng. |
| 11:16 | And Y bithouyte on the word of the Lord, as he seide, For Joon baptiside in watir, but ye schulen be baptisid in the Hooli Goost. |
| 11:17 | Therfor if God yaf to hem the same grace, as to vs that bileueden in the Lord Jhesu Crist, who was Y, that myyte forbeede the Lord, that he yyue not the Hooli Goost to hem that bileueden in the name of Jhesu Crist? |
| 11:18 | Whanne these thingis weren herd, thei helden pees, and glorifieden God, and seiden, Therfor also to hethene men God hath youun penaunce to lijf. |
| 11:19 | And thei that weren scaterid of the tribulacioun that was maad vndir Steuene, walkiden forth to Fenyce, and to Cipre, and to Antioche, and spaken the word to no man, but to Jewis aloone. |
| 11:20 | But sum of hem weren men of Cipre, and of Cirenen; whiche whanne thei hadden entride in to Antioche, thei spaken to the Grekis, and prechiden the Lord Jhesu. |
| 11:21 | And the hond of the Lord was with hem, and myche noumbre of men bileuynge was conuertid to the Lord. |
| 11:22 | And the word cam to the eris of the chirche, that was at Jerusalem, on these thingis; and thei senten Barnabas to Antioche. |
| 11:23 | And whanne he was come, and siy the grace of the Lord, he ioyede, and monestide alle men to dwelle in the Lord in purpos of herte; |
| 11:24 | for he was a good man, and ful of the Hooli Goost, and of feith. And myche puple was encresid to the Lord. |
| 11:25 | And he wente forth to Tharsis, to seke Saul; and whanne he hadde foundun hym, he ledde to Antioche. |
| 11:26 | And al a yeer thei lyueden ther in the chirche, and tauyten myche puple, so that the disciplis weren namyd first at Antioche cristen men. |
| 11:27 | And in these daies profetis camen ouer fro Jerusalem to Antioche. |
| 11:28 | And oon of hem roos vp, Agabus bi name, and signefiede bi the spirit a greet hungur to comynge in al the world, which hungur was maad vndur Claudius. |
| 11:29 | And alle the disciplis purposiden, after that ech hadde, for to sende in to mynysterie to britheren that dwelliden in Judee. |
| 11:30 | Which thing also thei diden, and sente it to the eldre men, bi the hoondis of Barnabas and Saul. |
