11:1	And the Apostles and the brethren that were thorowout Iewry, harde say that the heathen had also receyued the word of God.
11:2	And when Peter was come vp to Hierusalem, they of the circuncysyon reasoned with him
11:3	saiyng: Thou wentest into men vncircumcysed, and eatest with them.
11:4	Then Peter began and expounded the thing in order to them saiyng:
11:5	I was in the cytie of Ioppa praiynge, and in a traunce I sawe a vision, a certaine vessell descende, as it had bene a large linnen cloth, let doune from heauen by the fower corners, and it came to me.
11:6	Into the which when I had fastned myne eyes, I consydered and sawe fower foted beastes of the earth, and vermen, wormes, and foules of the aier.
11:7	And I hearde a voice saiyng vnto me, aryse Peter sley & eate.
11:8	And I saide: God forbid Lord, for nothing commen or vncleane, hath at anye tyme entred into my mouth.
11:9	But the voice aunswered me agayne from heauen, count not thou those thinges commen, whiche God hath clensed.
11:10	And this was done thre times: And all were taken vp againe into heauen.
11:11	And beholde immediatly there were thre men come vnto the house where I was, sent from Cesarea vnto me,
11:12	that I should go with them, wythout doubting. More ouer these sixe brethren accompanied me: and we entered into the mans house.
11:13	And he shewed vs how he had sene an Angel in hys house, whiche stode and sayed to him. Sende men to Ioppa, and call for Simon named also Peter,
11:14	he shal tell the wordes, wherby both thou and all thyne housse shal be saued.
11:15	And as I began to preach, the holy ghost fell on them, as he dyd on vs at the beginninge.
11:16	Then came to his remembraunce the wordes of the Lorde, howe he sayed: Iohn Baptised with water, but ye shal be baptysed wyth the holy ghost.
11:17	For as much then as God gaue them lyke giftes, as he dyd vnto vs, when we beleued on the Lord Iesus Christe: what was I that I shoulde haue withstand God?
11:18	When they heard thys, they helde their peace & gloryfyed God, sayinge: then hath God also to the gentyls graunted repentaunce vnto lyfe.
11:19	They whiche were scattered abroade thorowe the affliction that arose aboute Stephan, walked thorowe oute tyll they came to Phenices and Cypers, and Antioche, preachinge the worde to no man, but vnto the Iewes onely.
11:20	Some of them were men of Cypers & Syrene, whyche when they were come into Antioche spake to the Grekes, and preached the Lorde Iesus.
11:21	And the hande of the Lorde was with them, and a greate numbre beleued and turned to the Lorde.
11:22	Tydinges of these thynges came to the eares of the congregation, which was at Hierusalem. And they sent forth Barnabas that he should go vnto Antioche.
11:23	Which when he was come, and had sene the grace of God, was gladd, and exhorted them all that wyth purpose of hert they woulde continually cleaue vnto the Lorde.
11:24	For he was a good man, and ful of the holy ghoste and of faith: and much people was added vnto the Lord.
11:25	Then departed Barnabas to Tharsus for to seke Saul.
11:26	And when he had founde hym, he brought him vnto Antioche. And it chaunced that a whole yere they had theyr conuersation with the congregation there, and taught much people: in so much that the disciples of Antioche were the fyrst that were called christians.
11:27	In those dayes came Prophetes from Hierusalem vnto Antioche.
11:28	And there stode vp one of them, named Agabus, and signified by the spyrite that there shoulde be greate derth thorowe out all the world, whiche came to passe in the Emperour Claudius daies.
11:29	Then the disciples euery man accordinge to his abilite, purposed to send succoure vnto the brethren, which dwelt in Iewry.
11:30	Whiche thynge they also dyd, and sente it to the elders, by the handes of Barnabas and Saule.


11:1	Nowe the Apostles and the brethren that were in Iudea, heard, that the Gentiles had also receiued the worde of God.
11:2	And when Peter was come vp to Hierusalem, they of the circumcision contended against him,
11:3	Saying, Thou wentest in to men vncircumcised, and hast eaten with them.
11:4	Then Peter beganne, and expounded the thing in order to them, saying,
11:5	I was in the citie of Ioppa, praying, and in a trance I sawe this vision, A certaine vessell comming downe as it had bene a great sheete, let downe from heauen by the foure corners, and it came to me.
11:6	Towarde the which when I had fastened mine eyes, I considered, and sawe foure footed beastes of the earth, and wilde beastes, and creeping things, and foules of the heauen.
11:7	Also I heard a voyce, saying vnto me, Arise, Peter: slay and eate.
11:8	And I said, God forbid, Lord: for nothing polluted or vncleane hath at any time entred into my mouth.
11:9	But the voyce answered me the seconde time from heauen, The things that God hath purified, pollute thou not.
11:10	And this was done three times, and all were taken vp againe into heauen.
11:11	Then behold, immediatly there were three men already come vnto the house where I was, sent from Cesarea vnto me.
11:12	And the Spirit saide vnto me, that I should go with them, without doubting: moreouer these sixe brethren came with me, and we entred into the mans house.
11:13	And he shewed vs, howe he had seene an Angel in his house, which stoode and said to him, Send men to Ioppa, and call for Simon, whose surname is Peter.
11:14	He shall speake wordes vnto thee, whereby both thou and all thine house shalbe saued.
11:15	And as I began to speake, the holy Ghost fell on them, euen as vpon vs at the beginning.
11:16	Then I remembred the word of the Lord, howe he said, Iohn baptized with water, but ye shalbe baptized with the holy Ghost.
11:17	For as much then as God gaue them a like gift, as he did vnto vs, when we beleeued in the Lord Iesus Christ, who was I, that I coulde let God?
11:18	When they heard these things, they helde their peace, and glorified God, saying, Then hath God also to the Gentiles graunted repentance vnto life.
11:19	And they which were scattered abroade because of the affliction that arose about Steuen, went throughout till they came vnto Phenice and Cyprus, and Antiochia, preaching the worde to no man, but vnto the Iewes onely.
11:20	Now some of them were men of Cyprus and of Cyrene, which when they were come into Antiochia, spake vnto the Grecians, and preached the Lord Iesus.
11:21	And the hand of the Lord was with them, so that a great number beleeued and turned vnto the Lord.
11:22	Then tydings of those things came vnto the eares of the Church, which was in Hierusalem, and they sent foorth Barnabas, that he should goe vnto Antiochia.
11:23	Who when he was come and had seene the grace of God, was glad, and exhorted all, that with purpose of heart they would continue in the Lord.
11:24	For he was a good man, and full of the holy Ghost, and faith, and much people ioyned them selues vnto the Lord.
11:25	Then departed Barnabas to Tarsus to seeke Saul:
11:26	And when he had founde him, he brought him vnto Antiochia: and it came to passe that a whole yere they were conuersant with ye Church, and taught much people, in so much that the disciples were first called Christians in Antiochia.
11:27	In those dayes also came Prophets from Hierusalem vnto Antiochia.
11:28	And there stoode vp one of them named Agabus, and signified by the Spirit, that there should be great famine throughout all the world, which also came to passe vnder Claudius Cesar.
11:29	Then the disciples, euery man according to his ability, purposed to sende succour vnto the brethren which dwelt in Iudea.
11:30	Which thing they also did, and sent it to the Elders, by the hand of Barnabas and Saul.

11:9	But the voyce answered me againe from heauen, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common.
11:10	And this was done three times: and all were drawen vp againe into heauen.
11:11	And behold, immediately there were three men already come vnto the house where I was, sent from Cesarea vnto me.
11:12	And the spirit bad me goe with them, nothing doubting: Moreouer, these sixe brethren accompanied me, and we entred into the mans house:
11:13	And he shewed vs how hee had seene an Angell in his house, which stood and said vnto him, Send men to Ioppa, and call for Simon, whose sirname is Peter:
11:14	Who shall tell thee words, wherby thou, and all thy house shal be saued.
11:15	And as I began to speake, the holy Ghost fell on them, as on vs at the beginning.
11:16	Then remembred I the word of the Lord, how that he said, Iohn indeede baptized with water: but ye shall be baptized with the holy Ghost.
11:17	Forasmuch then as God gaue them the like gift as hee did vnto vs, who beleeued on the Lord Iesus Christ: what was I that I could withstand God?
11:18	When they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, Then hath God also to the Gentiles granted repentance vnto life.
11:19	Now they which were scattered abroad vpon the persecution that arose about Steuen, trauailed as farre as Phenice, and Cyprus, and Antioch, preaching the word to none, but vnto the Iewes onely.
11:20	And some of them were men of Cyprus, and Cyrene, which when they were come to Antioch, spake vnto the Grecians, preaching the Lord Iesus.
11:21	And the hand of the Lord was with them: and a great number beleeued, and turned vnto the Lord.
11:22	Then tidings of these things came vnto the eares of the Church, which was in Hierusalem: and they sent foorth Barnabas, that hee should goe as farre as Antioch.
11:23	Who when hee came, and had seene the grace of God, was glad, and exhorted them all, that with purpose of heart they would cleaue vnto the Lord.
11:24	For he was a good man, and full of the holy Ghost, and of faith: and much people was added vnto the Lord.
11:25	Then departed Barnabas to Tarsus, for to seeke Saul.
11:26	And when he had found him, he brought him vnto Antioch. And it came to passe, that a whole yeere they assembled themselues with the Church, and taught much people, and the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.
11:27	And in these dayes, came Prophets from Hierusalem vnto Antioch.
11:28	And there stood vp one of them, named Agabus, and signified by the spirit, that there should be great dearth throughout all the world: which came to passe in the dayes of Claudius Cesar.
11:29	Then the disciples, euery man according to his abilitie, determined to send reliefe vnto the brethren which dwelt in Iudea.
11:30	Which also they did, and sent it to the Elders by the hands of Barnabas and Saul.
