14:1And it fortuned in Iconium, that they went both together into the synagoge of the Iewes, and so spake that a greate multitude bothe of the Iewes, and also of the grekes beleued.
14:2But the vnbeleuynge Iewes stered vp, and vnquieted the myndes of the gentyls agaynst the brethren.
14:3Long tyme abode they there, and quyt them selues boldely with the helpe of the Lorde, which gaue testimonye vnto the worde of hys grace, & caused signes and wondres to be done by theyr handes.
14:4The people of the citie were deuyded: and parte helde with the Iewes, and parte wt the Apostles.
14:5When there was a sault made both of the gentyls, and also of the Iewes with theyr rulars, to put them to shame and to stone them,
14:6they were ware of it, and fled vnto Lystra & Darba, cities of Lycaonia, and vnto the regyon that lyeth rounde aboute,
14:7and there preached the Gospel.
14:8And there sate a certayne man at Listra weake in hys fete, beyng creple from hys mothers wombe, and neuer walked.
14:9The same hearde Paule preache. Whiche behelde hym, and perceyued that he had faythe to be whole,
14:10and sayed with a loude voyce stande vpryght on the fete. And he sterte vp, & walked.
14:11And when the people sawe, what Paule had done, they lyfte vp theyr voyces, saiynge in the speache of Lycaonia: Goddes are come doune to vs in the lykenes of men.
14:12And they called Barnabas Iupiter and Paul Mercurius, because he was the preacher.
14:13Then Iupiters prieste whiche dwelte before theyr citie, brought oxen and garlandes to the churche porche, and woulde haue done sacrifice with the people.
14:14But when the Apostles Barnabas & Paul hearde that, they rent theyr clothes, and ran in amonge the people, criynge,
14:15and saiynge: Syrs why do ye thys? We are mortall men lyke vnto you, and preache vnto you, that ye shoulde turne from these vanities vnto the liuynge God, which made heauen and earthe and the sea, and all that in them is:
14:16the whiche in tymes paste suffered all nacyons to walke in theyr owne wayes.
14:17Neuerthelesse he lefte not hym selfe without wytnes, in that he shewed hys benefytes, in geuynge vs rayne from heauen, and fruteful ceasons, fyllyng our hertes with fode and gladnes.
14:18And with these saiynges scace refrayned they the people that they had not done sacrifyce vnto them.
14:19Thyther came certayne Iewes from Antioche and Iconium, and obtayned the peoples consent, and stoned Paul, and drewe him out of the citie, supposyng he had bene dead.
14:20Howbeit as the disciples stode rounde about him, he arose vp, and came into the citie. And the next daye, he departed with Barnabas to Derba.
14:21After they had preached to that citie, and had taughte manye, they returned agayne to Lystra, and to Iconium and Antioche,
14:22and strengthed the disciples soules exhortynge them to continue in the faith, affyrmyng that we must thorowe muche tribulacion enter into the kingdome of God.
14:23And when they had ordeyned them elders by election in euery congregacion, and after they had prayed and fasted, they commended them to God on whom they beleued.
14:24And they wente thorowout Pisidia and came into Pamphilia,
14:25and when they had preached the worde of God in Perga, they descended into Attalia,
14:26and thence departed by shyppe to Antioche, from whence they were delyuered vnto the grace of god, to the worke which they had fulfylled.
14:27When they were come & had gathered the congregation together, they rehearsed all that God had done by them, and how he had opened the dore of fayth to the gentyls.
14:28And there they abode longe tyme with the discyples.

14:6they were ware of it, and fled vnto Lystra and Derba, cyties of Lycaonia, and vnto the regyon that lyeth ronnde aboute,
14:7and there preached the Gospell.
14:8And ther sate a certayne man at Lystra weake in hys fete, beynge creple from his mothers wombe, and neuer had walked.
14:9The same hearde Paul preache. Which beholdynge hym, and perceauynge that he had fayth to be whole,

14:12And they called Barnabas Iupiter, and Paul Mercurius, because he was the preacher,
14:13Then Iupiters preste, which dwelt before their cytie, brought oxen and garlandes vnto the porche, and wolde haue done sacryfice with the people.
14:14Which when the Apostles, Barnabas and Paul herde of, they rent their clothes, and ran in amonge the people, cryinge
14:15and sayinge: syrs why do ye this? We are mortall men like vnto you, and preache vnto you, that ye shulde turne from these vanyties vnto the lyuinge God, which made heauen and erth and the see and all thynges that are ther in:
14:16the which in tymes past suffred all nacyons to walcke in theyr awne wayes.
14:17Neuerthelesse, he left not hym selfe withoute wytnes, in that he shewed hys beuefytes from heauen, in geuynge vs rayne and frutefull ceasons, fyllyng oure hertes with fode and gladnes.
14:18And with these sayinges, sease refrayned they the people, that they had not done sacryfyce vnto them.
14:19Thyther came certayne Iewes from Antioche and Iconium: which (whan they had obtayned the peoples consent and had stoned Paul) drew him out of the cytie, suppoge he had bene deed.
14:20Howbeit as the disciples stode rounde about him, he arose vp, and came into the cytie. And the nexte daye he departed with Barnabas to Derba.
14:21And whan they had preached to that cytie, & had taught many, they returned agayne to Lystra, and to Iconium and Antioche,
14:22and strengthed the discyples soules agayne, and exhorted them to contynue in the fayth affirmynge that we must thorowe moche tribulacyon enntre into the kyngdome of God.
14:23And whan they had ordened them elders by eleccyon in euery congregacyon, and had prayde and fasted, they commended them to the Lorde on whom they beleued.
14:24And whan they had gone thorowe out Pisidia, they came to Pamphilia,
14:25& whan they had preached the worde in Perga, they descended into the cyte Attalia,
14:26and thence departed by shyppe to Antioche from whence they were committed vnto the grace of God to the worcke which they fulfylled.
14:27When they were come, and had gathered the congregacion together, they rehersed all that God had doue by them and how he had opened the dore of fayth vnto the Gentyls.
14:28And there they abode longe tyme with the discyples.

14:4But the multitude of the city was deuided: and some were with the Iewes, and some with the Apostles.
14:5And when there was an assault made both of the Gentiles, and of the Iewes with their rulers, to doe them violence, and to stone them,
14:6They were ware of it, and fled vnto Lystra, and Derbe, cities of Lycaonia, and vnto the region round about,
14:7And there preached the Gospel.
14:8Nowe there sate a certaine man at Lystra, impotent in his feete, which was a creeple from his mothers wombe, who had neuer walked.
14:9He heard Paul speake: who beholding him, and perceiuing that he had faith to be healed,
14:10Said with a loude voyce, Stand vpright on thy feete. And he leaped vp, and walked.
14:11Then when the people sawe what Paul had done, they lift vp their voyces, saying in ye speach of Lycaonia, Gods are come downe to vs in the likenesse of men.
14:12And they called Barnabas, Iupiter: and Paul, Mercurius, because hee was the chiefe speaker.
14:13Then Iupiters priest, which was before their citie, brought bulles with garlands vnto the gates, and would haue sacrificed with the people.
14:14But when the Apostles, Barnabas and Paul heard it, they rent their clothes, and ran in among the people, crying,
14:15And saying, O men, why doe yee these things? We are euen men subiect to the like passions that yee be, and preache vnto you, that yee shoulde turne from these vaine things vnto the liuing God, which made heauen and earth, and the sea, and all things that in them are:
14:16Who in times past suffered all the Gentiles to walke in their owne waies.
14:17Neuerthelesse, hee left not him selfe without witnes, in that hee did good and gaue vs raine from heauen, and fruitful seasons, filling our hearts with foode, and gladnesse.
14:18And speaking these things, scarce appeased they the multitude, that they had not sacrificed vnto them.
14:19Then there came certaine Iewes from Antiochia and Iconium, which when they had persuaded the people, stoned Paul, and drewe him out of the citie, supposing he had bene dead.
14:20Howbeit, as the disciples stoode rounde about him, hee arose vp, and came into the citie, and the next day hee departed with Barnabas to Derbe.
14:21And after they had preached the glad tidings of the Gospel to that citie, and had taught many, they returned to Lystra, and to Iconium, and to Antiochia,
14:22Confirming the disciples hearts, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, affirming that we must through many afflictions enter into the kingdome of God.
14:23And when they had ordeined them Elders by election in euery Church, and prayed, and fasted, they commended them to the Lord in whome they beleeued.
14:24Thus they went throughout Pisidia, and came to Pamphylia.
14:25And when they had preached the woorde in Perga, they came downe to Attalia,
14:26And thence sailed to Antiochia, from whence they had bene comended vnto the grace of God, to the woorke, which they had fulfilled.
14:27And when they were come and had gathered the Church together, they rehearsed all the things that God had done by them, and howe he had opened the doore of faith vnto the Gentiles.
14:28So there they abode a long time with the disciples.
