18:1After thys, Paul departed from Athens, and came to Corynthum,
18:2and founde a certayne Iewe named Aquila, borne in Ponthus, lately come from Italie with his wyfe Priscilla (because that the Emperour Claudius had commaunded all Iewes to departe from Rome) and he drew vnto them,
18:3because he was of the same crafte, he abode with them, & wrought: theyr crafte was to make tentes.
18:4And he preached in the synagoge euery Sabboth daye and exhorted the Iewes and the gentyls.
18:5When Silas, and Timotheus were come from Macedonia, Paul was constrayned by the sprete, to testyfye to the Iewes that Iesus was very Chryst.
18:6And when they sayde contrary & blasphemed he shoke hys rayment and sayde vnto them: youre bloude be vpon youre awne heedes: from hence forth wyll I go blamelesse vnto the gentyls.
18:7And he departed thence, and entred into a certayne mannes house, named Iustus, a worshypper of God, whose house ioyned hard to the synagoge.
18:8Howbeit, one Crispus the chefe ruler of the synagoge beleued on the Lorde with all his housholde, and many of the Corinthians whan they gaue audience, beleued, and were baptised.
18:9Then spake the Lorde to Paul in the nyght by a visyon: be not afrayde, but speake, and holde not thy peace:
18:10for I am with the, & noman shall inuade the that shall hurte the. For I haue moch people in this cytie.
18:11And he continued there a yeare and syxe monethes, and taught them the worde of God.
18:12When Gallio was ruler of the countre of Acaia, the Iewes made insurreccyon with one accorde agaynst Paul, and brought hym to the iudgement seate,
18:13sayinge: this felowe counceleth men to worship God contrary to the lawe.
18:14And whan Paul nowe was about to open his mouth, Gallio sayd vnto the Iewes: yf it were a matter of wronge, or an euyll dede (O ye Iewes) reason wolde that I shulde heare you:
18:15but yf it be a question of wordes or of names, or of youre lawe, loke ye to it youre selues, For I will be no iudge of soche matters,
18:16and he draue them from the seate.
18:17Then all the Grekes toke Softenes the chefe ruler of the Synagoge, and smote hym before the iudges seate, And Gallio cared for none of those thynges.
18:18Paul after thys, taryed there yet a good whyle, and then toke his leaue of the brethren and sayled thence into Ciria, Priscilla and Aquila accompanyinge hym. And he shore his heed in Cenchrea, for he had a vowe:
18:19And he cam to Ephesus and lefte them there: but he hym selfe entred into the Synagoge, and reasoned with the Iewes.
18:20When they desyred him to tary longer tyme with them, he consented not,
18:21but bad them fare well sayinge. I must nedes (at thys feast that cometh) be in Ierusalem: but I wyll returne agayne vnto you yf God will. And he departed from Ephesus:
18:22and whan he was come vnto Cesarea: and ascended vp and saluted the congregacyon, he departed vnto Antioche:
18:23and when he had taryed there a whyle, he departed: and went ouer all the countre of Galacia and Phrygia by order, strengthynge all the discyples.
18:24And a certayne Iew named Apollos, borne at Alexandria, came to Ephesus, an eloquent man, and myghty in the scryptures
18:25The same was informed in the waye of the Lorde, and spake feruently in the sprete, and taught diligently the thinges of the Lord, & knewe but the baptyme of Iohn onely.
18:26And the same began to speake boldely in the Synagoge. Whom when Priscilla & Aquila had hearde they toke him vnto them, & expounded vnto hym the waye of God more perfectly.
18:27And when he was disposed to go into Acaia, the brethren wrote, exhortyng the discyples to receaue him. Which whan he was come helped them moche which had beleued thorow grace.
18:28For he ouercame the Iewes myghtely, and that openly, shewynge by the scryptures, that Iesus was Chryst.

18:3And for he was of the same craft, he dwellide with hem, and wrouyte; and thei weren of roopmakeris craft.
18:4And he disputide in the synagoge bi ech sabat, puttynge among the name of the Lord Jhesu; and he counselide Jewis and Grekis.
18:5And whanne Silas and Tymothe camen fro Macedonye, Poul yaf bisynesse to the word, and witnesside to the Jewis, that Jhesu is Crist.
18:6But whanne thei ayenseiden and blasfemyden, he schoke awei hise clothis, and seide to hem, Youre blood be on youre heed; Y schal be clene from hennus forth, and schal go to hethene men.
18:7And he passide fro thennus, and entride in to the hous of a iust man, Tite bi name, that worschipide God, whos hous was ioyned to the synagoge.
18:8And Crispe, prince of the synagoge, bileuede to the Lord, with al his hous. And many of the Corinthies herden, and bileueden, and weren cristened.
18:9And the Lord seide bi nyyt to Poul bi a visioun, Nyle thou drede, but speke, and be not stille;
18:10for Y am with thee, and no man schal be put to thee to noye thee, for myche puple is to me in this citee.
18:11And he dwellide there a yeer and sixe monethis, techinge among hem the word of God.
18:12But whanne Gallion was proconsul of Acaye, Jewis risen vp with oo wille ayens Poul, and ledden hym to the doom,
18:13and seiden, Ayens the lawe this counselith men to worschipe God.
18:14And whanne Poul bigan to opene his mouth, Gallion seide to the Jewis, If there were ony wickid thing, ether yuel trespas, ye Jewis, riytli Y schulde suffre you;
18:15but if questiouns ben of the word, and of names of youre lawe, bisee you silf; Y wole not be domesman of these thingis.
18:16And he droof hem fro the doom place.
18:17And alle token Sostenes, prince of the synagoge, and smoten him bifor the doom place; and no thing of these was to charge to Gallion.
18:18And whanne Poul hadde abidun many daies, he seide fare wel to britheren, and bi boot cam to Syrie. And Priscille and Aquila camen with hym, whiche hadden clippid his heed in Tencris; for he had a vow.
18:19And he cam to Effesie, and there he lefte hem; and he yede in to the synagoge, and disputide with Jewis.
18:20And whanne thei preieden, that he schulde dwelle more time,
18:21he consentide not, but he made `fare wel, and seide, Eft Y schal turne ayen to you, if God wole; and he wente forth fro Effesi.
18:22And he cam doun to Cesarie, and he yede vp, and grette the chirche, and cam doun to Antiochie.
18:23And whanne he hadde dwellide there sumwhat of time, he wente forth, walkinge bi rewe thorou the cuntrei of Galathie, and Frigie, and confermyde alle the disciplis.
18:24But a Jewe, Apollo bi name, a man of Alisaundre of kinde, a man eloquent, cam to Effesie; and he was myyti in scripturis.
18:25This man was tauyt the weie of the Lord, and was feruent in spirit, and spak, and tauyte diligentli tho thingis that weren of Jhesu, and knew oonli the baptym of Joon.
18:26And this man bigan to do tristili in the synagoge. Whom whanne Priscille and Aquila herden, thei token hym, and more diligentli expowneden to hym the weie of the Lord.
18:27And whanne he wolde go to Acaie, britheren excitiden, and wroten to the disciplis, that thei schulden resseyue hym; which whanne he cam, yaf myche to hem that bileueden.
18:28For he greetli ouercam Jewis, and schewide opynli bi scripturis, that Jhesu is Crist.

18:15but yf it be a question of wordes, and of names, and of ye lawe amoge you, loke ye to it youre selues, I thinke not to be iudge there ouer.
18:16And he droue them from the iudgmet seate.
18:17Then all the Grekes toke Sosthenes the ruler of the Sinagoge, and smote him before the iudgment seate. And Gallio cared for none of tho thinges.
18:18Paul after yt he had taried a good whyle, toke his leue of the brethren, and sayled in to Syria, Priscilla & Aquila bearinge him company. And he shore his heade at Cenchrea (for he had a vowe)
18:19& came downe to Ephesus, & lefte them there. But he himselfe wete in to the synagoge, and reasoned with the Iewes.
18:20And they desyred him, that he wolde tary with them a longer season. And he cosented not,
18:21but bad them farwele, and sayde: I must nedes in eny wyse kepe this feast that commeth, at Ierusalem: but yf God wyl, I wil returne agayne vnto you. And he departed from Ephesus,
18:22and came to Cesarea, and wente vp, and saluted ye congregacion, and toke his iourney downe to Antioche,
18:23and taried there a certayne tyme, and departed, and walked thorow all ye countre of Galatia and Phrigia by ordre, and strengthed all the disciples.
18:24There came vnto Ephesus a certayne Iewe, named Apollo (borne at Alexadria) an eloquent man, and mightie in the scriptures:
18:25the same was infourmed in the waye of the LORDE, and spake feruently in the sprete, and taughte diligently the thinges of the LORDE, and knewe but the baptyme off Ihon onely.
18:26The same beganne to speake boldly in the synagoge. Whan Aquila and Priscilla herde him, they toke him vnto the, and expounded the waye of God vnto him more perfectly.
18:27But whan he wolde go in to Achaia, the brethren wrote, and exorted the disciples to receaue him. And whan he was come thither, he helped them moch which beleued thorow grace.
18:28For he ouercame the Iewes mightely, and shewed openly by ye scripture, that Iesus was Christ.
