20:1	After the rage was ceased: Paule called the disciples vnto him, & toke his leaue of them, & departed for to go into Macedonia.
20:2	And when he had gone ouer those partyes, and geuen them large exhortacyons he came into Grece,
20:3	and there abode thre monethes. And when the Iewes layde wayte for him as he was about to sail into Syria, he purposed to returne thorough Macedonia.
20:4	There accompanyed hym into Asia, Sopater of Berrea, and of Thessalonia Aristarcus and Secundus, & Gaius of Derba, and Timotheus, and out of Asia, Tichycus and Trophimos.
20:5	These wente before, & taryed vs at Troas.
20:6	And we sayled awaye from Philippus after the easter holy daies, and came vnto them do Troas in .v. dayes where we abode seuen dayes.
20:7	And on the morowe after the saboth day the disciples came together for to breake bread and Paule preached vnto them (readye to departe on the morowe) and contynued the preachynge vnto midnyght.
20:8	And there were manye lyghtes in the chamber where they were gathered together,
20:9	and there sate in a wyndowe a certayne yonge man named Eutichos, fallen into a depe slepe. And as Paule declared, he was the more ouercome with slepe, and fell doune from the thyrde lofte, and was taken vp dead.
20:10	Paule wente doune and fell on hym, and embrased hym, and sayed: make nothynge a do, for hys lyfe is in hym.
20:11	When he was come vp again, he brake bread and tasted, and commened a longe whyle euen tyll the mornynge, and so departed.
20:12	And they brought the yonge man alyue, and were not a lytle comforted.
20:13	And we went afore to shyppe, and loused vnto Asson there to receyue Paule. For so had he appoynted and woulde hym self go afore.
20:14	When he was come to vs to Assone, we toke hym in and came to Mitelenes.
20:15	And we sailed thence, and came the next daye ouer agaynste Chios. And the next daye we aryued at Samos, and taryed at Trogilio. The nexte daye we came to Mileton,
20:16	for Paule had determyned to leaue Ephesus as they sayled, because he woulde not spende the tyme in Asia. For he hasted to be (yf he coulde possible) at Ierusalem at the daye of Pentecoste.
20:17	Wherfore from Myleton he sent to Ephesus, and called the elders of the congregacyon.
20:18	And when they were come to hym, he sayde vnto them. Ye knowe from the fyrste daye that I came into Asia, after what maner I haue ben with you at al ceasons
20:19	seruynge the Lorde with all humblenes of mynde, and with many teares, and temptacyons whiche happened to me by the laiynges awayte of the Iewes,
20:20	and howe I kept backe nothyng that was profytable, but that I haue shewed you, and taughte you openlye, and at home in your houses,
20:21	wytnessyng both to the Iewes, and also to the Grekes, the repentaunce towarde God and fayth towarde oure Lorde Iesus.
20:22	And now beholde I go bounde in the spyryte vnto Ierusalem, and knowe not what shal come on me there,
20:23	but that the holy ghost wytnesseth in euerye citie, saiynge: that bondes and trouble abyde me.
20:24	But none of these thinges moue me: neyther is my lyfe dere vnto my selfe: that I myght fulfyl my course with ioye, and the ministracyon whiche I haue receyued of the Lord Iesus, to testifye the gospell of the grace of God.
20:25	And now beholde, I am sure that henceforth ye al (through whom I haue gone preachyng the kingdom of God) shal se my face no more.
20:26	Wherfore I take you to recorde this same daye that I am pure from the bloud of all men.
20:27	For I haue kept nothynge backe, but haue shewed you all the counsell of God.
20:28	Take hede therfore vnto youre selues, and to all the flocke wherof the holy ghoste hath made you ouersears, to rule the congregacyon of God, which he hath purchased wt hys bloude.
20:29	For I am sure of this, that after my departing shall greuous wolues enter in amonge you, which wyll not spare the flocke.
20:30	Moreouer of your own selues shal men aryse speakyng peruerse thinges to draw disciples after them.
20:31	Therfore awake & remember, that by the space of .iij. yeares I ceased not to warne euerye one of you both night and daye with teares.
20:32	And nowe brethren I commende you to God, and to the worde of hys grace, which is able to buylde further, and to geue you an inheritaunce amonge all them which are sanctifyed
20:33	I haue desyred no mans syluer, golde or vesture.
20:34	Ye knowe well that these handes haue ministred vnto my necessities, & to them that were with me,
20:35	I haue shewed you all thinges, how that so laborynge ye ought to receyue the weake & to remember the wordes of the lorde Iesu, how that he sayde: it is more blessed to geue then to receyue.
20:36	When he had thus spoken, he kneled doune & prayed with them all.
20:37	And they wept al aboundauntly, and fell on Paules necke, & kyssed him
20:38	sorowynge moste of all for the wordes which he spake, that they should se hys face no more. And they accompanied hym vnto the shyppe.


20:1	Nowe after the tumult was appeased, Paul called the disciples vnto him, and embraced them, and departed to goe into Macedonia.
20:2	And when hee had gone through those parts, and had exhorted them with many words, he came into Grecia.
20:3	And hauing taried there three moneths, because the Iewes layde waite for him, as hee was about to saile into Syria, hee purposed to returne through Macedonia.
20:4	And there accompanied him into Asia, Sopater of Berea, and of them of Thessalonica, Aristarchus, and Secundus, and Gaius of Derbe, and Timotheus, and of them of Asia, Tychicus, and Trophimus.
20:5	These went before, and taried vs at Troas.
20:6	And we sailed forth from Philippi, after the dayes of vnleauened bread, and came vnto them to Troas in fiue dayes, where we abode seuen dayes.
20:7	And the first day of the weeke, the disciples being come together to breake bread, Paul preached vnto them, ready to depart on the morrow, and continued the preaching vnto midnight.
20:8	And there were many lightes in an vpper chamber, where they were gathered together.
20:9	And there sate in a windowe a certaine yong man, named Eutychus, fallen into a dead sleepe: and as Paul was long preaching, hee ouercome with sleepe, fell downe from the thirde loft, and was taken vp dead.
20:10	But Paul went downe, and layde himselfe vpon him, and embraced him, saying, Trouble not your selues: for his life is in him.
20:11	Then when Paul was come vp againe, and had broken bread, and eaten, hauing spoken a long while till the dawning of the day, hee so departed.
20:12	And they brought the boye aliue, and they were not a litle comforted.
20:13	Then we went before to shippe, and sailed vnto the citie Assos, that wee might receiue Paul there: for so had hee appointed, and would himselfe goe afoote.
20:14	Now when he was come vnto vs to Assos, and we had receiued him, we came to Mitylenes.
20:15	And wee sailed thence, and came the next day ouer against Chios, and the next day we arriued at Samos, and tarried at Trogyllium: the next day we came to Miletum.
20:16	For Paul had determined to saile by Ephesus, because hee woulde not spend the time in Asia: for he hasted to be, if hee could possible, at Hierusalem, at the day of Pentecost.
20:17	Wherefore from Miletum, hee sent to Ephesus, and called the Elders of the Church.
20:18	Who when they were come to him, hee said vnto them, Ye know from the first day that I came into Asia, after what maner I haue bene with you at all seasons,
20:19	Seruing the Lord with all modestie, and with many teares, and tentations, which came vnto me by the layings awaite of the Iewes,
20:20	And how I kept backe nothing that was profitable, but haue shewed you, and taught you openly and throughout euery house,
20:21	Witnessing both to the Iewes, and to the Grecians the repentance towarde God, and faith toward our Lord Iesus Christ.
20:22	And nowe beholde, I goe bound in the Spirit vnto Hierusalem, and know not what things shall come vnto me there,
20:23	Saue that ye holy Ghost witnesseth in euery citie, saying, that bondes and afflictions abide me.
20:24	But I passe not at all, neither is my life deare vnto my selfe, so that I may fulfill my course with ioye, and the ministration which I haue receiued of the Lord Iesus, to testifie the Gospell of the grace of God.
20:25	And now behold, I know that henceforth ye all, through whome I haue gone preaching the kingdome of God, shall see my face no more.
20:26	Wherefore I take you to recorde this day, that I am pure from the blood of all men.
20:27	For I haue kept nothing backe, but haue shewed you all the counsell of God.
20:28	Take heede therefore vnto your selues, and to all the flocke, whereof the holy Ghost hath made you Ouerseers, to feede the Church of God, which hee hath purchased with that his owne blood.
20:29	For I knowe this, that after my departing shall grieuous wolues enter in among you, not sparing the flocke.
20:30	Moreouer of your owne selues shall men arise speaking peruerse thinges, to drawe disciples after them.
20:31	Therefore watche, and remember, that by the space of three yeres I ceased not to warne euery one, both night and day with teares.
20:32	And nowe brethren, I commend you to God, and to the worde of his grace, which is able to build further, and to giue you an inheritance, among all them, which are sanctified.
20:33	I haue coueted no mans siluer, nor gold, nor apparell.
20:34	Yea, ye knowe, that these handes haue ministred vnto my necessities, and to them that were with me.
20:35	I haue shewed you all things, howe that so labouring, ye ought to support the weake, and to remember the wordes of the Lord Iesus, howe that hee saide, It is a blessed thing to giue, rather then to receiue.
20:36	And when he had thus spoken, he kneeled downe, and prayed with them all.
20:37	Then they wept all abundantly, and fell on Pauls necke, and kissed him,
20:38	Being chiefly sorie for the words which he spake, That they should see his face no more. And they accompanied him vnto the shippe.

20:2	And when he had gone over those parts, and had given them much exhortation, he came into Greece,
20:3	And there abode three months. And when the Jews laid wait for him, as he was about to sail into Syria, he purposed to return through Macedonia.
20:4	And there accompanied him into Asia Sopater of Berea; and of the Thessalonians, Aristarchus and Secundus; and Gaius of Derbe, and Timotheus; and of Asia, Tychicus and Trophimus.
20:5	These going before tarried for us at Troas.
20:6	And we sailed away from Philippi after the days of unleavened bread, and came unto them to Troas in five days; where we abode seven days.
20:7	And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the morrow; and continued his speech until midnight.
20:8	And there were many lights in the upper chamber, where they were gathered together.
20:9	And there sat in a window a certain young man named Eutychus, being fallen into a deep sleep: and as Paul was long preaching, he sunk down with sleep, and fell down from the third loft, and was taken up dead.
20:10	And Paul went down, and fell on him, and embracing him said, Trouble not yourselves; for his life is in him.
20:11	When he therefore was come up again, and had broken bread, and eaten, and talked a long while, even till break of day, so he departed.
20:12	And they brought the young man alive, and were not a little comforted.
20:13	And we went before to ship, and sailed unto Assos, there intending to take in Paul: for so had he appointed, minding himself to go afoot.
20:14	And when he met with us at Assos, we took him in, and came to Mitylene.
20:15	And we sailed thence, and came the next day over against Chios; and the next day we arrived at Samos, and tarried at Trogyllium; and the next day we came to Miletus.
20:16	For Paul had determined to sail by Ephesus, because he would not spend the time in Asia: for he hasted, if it were possible for him, to be at Jerusalem the day of Pentecost.
20:17	And from Miletus he sent to Ephesus, and called the elders of the church.
20:18	And when they were come to him, he said unto them, Ye know, from the first day that I came into Asia, after what manner I have been with you at all seasons,
20:19	Serving the Lord with all humility of mind, and with many tears, and temptations, which befell me by the lying in wait of the Jews:
20:20	And how I kept back nothing that was profitable unto you, but have shewed you, and have taught you publickly, and from house to house,
20:21	Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.
20:22	And now, behold, I go bound in the spirit unto Jerusalem, not knowing the things that shall befall me there:
20:23	Save that the Holy Ghost witnesseth in every city, saying that bonds and afflictions abide me.
20:24	But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.
20:25	And now, behold, I know that ye all, among whom I have gone preaching the kingdom of God, shall see my face no more.
20:26	Wherefore I take you to record this day, that I am pure from the blood of all men.
20:27	For I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God.
20:28	Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.
20:29	For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock.
20:30	Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them.
20:31	Therefore watch, and remember, that by the space of three years I ceased not to warn every one night and day with tears.
20:32	And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.
20:33	I have coveted no man's silver, or gold, or apparel.
20:34	Yea, ye yourselves know, that these hands have ministered unto my necessities, and to them that were with me.
20:35	I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.
20:36	And when he had thus spoken, he kneeled down, and prayed with them all.
20:37	And they all wept sore, and fell on Paul's neck, and kissed him,
20:38	Sorrowing most of all for the words which he spake, that they should see his face no more. And they accompanied him unto the ship.
