| 8:1 | Ther is then no damnacyon to them whych are in Chryst Iesu, whych walke not after the flesshe, but after the sprete. |
| 8:2 | For the lawe of the sprete of lyfe thorow Iesus Christ, hath made me fre from the lawe of synne, and deeth. |
| 8:3 | For what the lawe could not do (in as moch as it was weake because of the flesshe) that performed God, and sent hys sonne in the similitude of synfull flesshe, |
| 8:4 | and by synne dampned synne in the flesshe: that the ryghtewesnes of the lawe, myght be fulfylled in vs, which walke not after the flesshe, but after the sprete. |
| 8:5 | For they that are carnall, are carnally mynded. But they that are spirytuall, are gostly mynded. |
| 8:6 | To be carnally mynded, is deeth. But to be spiritually mynded, is lyfe and peace. |
| 8:7 | Because that the flesshly mynde is enemyte agaynst God: for it is not obedyent to the lawe of God, nether can be. |
| 8:8 | So then they that are in the flesshe, cannot please God. |
| 8:9 | But ye are not in the flesshe, but in the sprete: yf so be that the sprete of God dwell in you. If eny man haue not the spryte of Chryst, the same is none of hys. |
| 8:10 | If Chryst be in you, the body is deed because of synne: but the spryte is lyfe for ryghtewesnes sake. |
| 8:11 | Wherfore, yf the spryte of hym that raysed vp Iesus from deeth, dwell in you: euen he that raysed vp Chryst from deeth, shall quycken youre mortall bodyes, because of hys sprete that dwelleth in you. |
| 8:12 | Therfore brethren, we are detters, not to the flesshe, |
| 8:13 | to lyue after the fleshe. For yf ye lyue after the fleshe, ye shal dye. But yf ye (thorowe the sprete) do mortyfye the dedes of the body, ye shall lyue. |
| 8:14 | For as many as are led by the sprete of God, |
| 8:15 | they are the sonnes of God. For ye haue not receaued the sprete of bondage to feare eny mor are, but ye haue receaued the sprete of adopcyon, wherby we crye: Abba father. |
| 8:16 | The same sprete certyfyeth oure sprete that we are the sonnes of God. |
| 8:17 | If we be sonnes, then are we also heyres, the heyres I meane of God, & heyres anexed with Chryst yf so be that we suffer with hym, that we maye be also glorified together with hym. |
| 8:18 | For I suppose that the afflyccyons of thys lyfe, are not worthy of the glory, which shalbe shewed vpon vs. |
| 8:19 | For the feruent desyre of the creature abydeth, lokyng, when the sonnes of God shall appere, |
| 8:20 | because the creature is subdued to vanyte, agaynst the wyll therof, but for his will which hath subdued the same in hope. |
| 8:21 | For the same creature shalbe delyuered from the bondage of corrupcyon, into the gloryous libertye of the sonnes of God. |
| 8:22 | For we knowe, that euery creature groneth with vs also, and trauayleth in payne, euen vnto thys tyme. |
| 8:23 | Not onely it, but we also which haue the fyrst frutes of the spryte, morne in oure selues also, and wayte for the adopcyon euen the delyueraunce of oure bodye. |
| 8:24 | For we are sauyd by hope. But hope that is sene, is no hope. For how can a man hope for that, which he seyth? |
| 8:25 | But and yf we hope for that we se not, then do we wt pacience abyde for it. |
| 8:26 | Lyke wyse, the sprete also helpeth oure infirmyties. For we knowe not what to desyre as we ought: but the sprete maketh intercessyon for vs, with gronynges which cannot be expressed. |
| 8:27 | And he that searcheth the hertes knoweth, what is the meanynge of the spryte: for he maketh intercercessyon for the sayntes according to the pleasure of God. |
| 8:28 | We knowe that all thynhes worke for the best vnto them that loue God, which also are called of purpose. |
| 8:29 | For those which he knewe before, he also ordeyned before, that they shulde be lyke fassyoned vnto the shape of hys sonne, that he myght be the fyrst begotten sonne amonge many brethren. |
| 8:30 | Moreouer, whom he appoynted before, them also he called. And whom he hath called, them also he iustyfyed: and whom he iustyfyed, them he also gloryfyed. |
| 8:31 | What shall we then saye to these thinges? yf God be on oure syde, who can be agaynst vs? |
| 8:32 | which spared not hys awne sonne, but gaue him for vs all: how can it be, that with hym he shulde not geue vs all thynges also? |
| 8:33 | Who shall laye eny thynge to the charge of Goddes chosen; it is God that iustyfyeth: |
| 8:34 | who is he that can condempne? it is Chryst which dyed, yee, rather which is rysen agayne, which is also on the ryght hande of God, and maketh intercessyon for us. |
| 8:35 | Who shall seperate vs from the loue of God? shall tribulacyon? or angusshe? or persecucyon? other honger? ether nakednesse? ether parell? ether swearde? |
| 8:36 | As it is written: for thy sake are we kylled all daye longe, and are counted as shepe apoynted to be slayne. |
| 8:37 | Neuerthelesse, in all these thynges we ouercome thorowe hym that loued vs. |
| 8:38 | For I am sure, that nether deeth, nether lyfe, nether Angels, nor rule, nether power, nether thynges present, nether thynges to come, |
| 8:39 | nether heygth, nether loweth, nether eny other creature shal be able to departe vs from the loue of God, which is in Christ Iesu oure Lorde. |
| 8:1 | Therfor now no thing of dampnacioun is to hem that ben in Crist Jhesu, whiche wandren not after the flesch. |
| 8:2 | For the lawe of the spirit of lijf in Crist Jhesu hath delyuerid me fro the lawe of synne, and of deth. |
| 8:3 | For that that was vnpossible to the lawe, in what thing it was sijk bi flesch, God sente his sone in to the licknesse of fleisch of synne, and of synne dampnede synne in fleisch; |
| 8:4 | that the iustefiyng of the lawe were fulfillid in vs, that goen not aftir the fleisch, but aftir the spirit. |
| 8:5 | For thei that ben aftir the fleisch, saueren tho thingis that ben of the fleisch; but thei that ben after the spirit, feelen tho thingis that ben of the spirit. For the prudence of fleisch is deth; |
| 8:6 | but the prudence of spirit is lijf and pees. |
| 8:7 | For the wisdom of the fleisch is enemye to God; for it is not suget to the lawe of God, for nether it may. |
| 8:8 | And thei that ben in fleisch, moun not plese to God. |
| 8:9 | But ye ben not in fleisch, but in spirit; if netheles the spirit of God dwellith in you. But if ony hath not the spirit of Crist, this is not his. |
| 8:10 | For if Crist is in you, the bodi is deed for synne, but the spirit lyueth for iustefiyng. |
| 8:11 | And if the spirit of hym that reiside Jhesu Crist fro deth dwellith in you, he that reiside Jhesu Crist fro deth, shal quykene also youre deedli bodies, for the spirit of hym that dwellith in you. |
| 8:12 | Therfor, britheren, we ben dettouris, not to the flesch, that we lyuen aftir the flesch. |
| 8:13 | For if ye lyuen aftir the fleisch, ye schulen die; but if ye bi the spirit sleen the dedis of the fleisch, ye schulen lyue. |
| 8:14 | For who euere ben led bi the spirit of God, these ben the sones of God. |
| 8:15 | For ye han not take eftsoone the spirit of seruage in drede, but ye han taken the spirit of adopcioun of sones, in which we crien, Abba, fadir. |
| 8:16 | And the ilke spirit yeldith witnessyng to oure spirit, that we ben the sones of God; |
| 8:17 | if sones, and eiris, `and eiris of God, and eiris togidere with Crist; if netheles we suffren togidere, that also we ben glorified togidere. |
| 8:18 | And Y deme, that the passiouns of this tyme ben not worthi to the glorie to comynge, that schal be schewid in vs. |
| 8:19 | For the abidyng of creature abidith the schewyng of the sones of God. |
| 8:20 | But the creature is suget to vanyte, not willynge, but for hym that made it suget in hope; |
| 8:21 | for the ilke creature schal be delyuered fro seruage of corrupcioun in to liberte of the glorie of the sones of God. |
| 8:22 | And we witen, that ech creature sorewith, and trauelith with peyne til yit. |
| 8:23 | And not oneli it, but also we vs silf, that han the first fruytis of the spirit, and we vs silf sorewen with ynne vs for the adopcioun of Goddis sonys, abidynge the ayenbiyng of oure bodi. |
| 8:24 | But bi hope we ben maad saaf. For hope that is seyn, is not hope; for who hopith that thing, that he seeth? |
| 8:25 | And if we hopen that thing that we seen not, we abiden bi pacience. |
| 8:26 | And also the spirit helpith oure infirmyte; for what we schulen preie, as it bihoueth, we witen not, but the ilke spirit axith for vs with sorewyngis, that moun not be teld out. |
| 8:27 | For he that sekith the hertis, woot what the spirit desirith, for bi God he axith for hooli men. |
| 8:28 | And we witen, that to men `that louen God, alle thingis worchen togidere in to good, to hem that aftir purpos ben clepid seyntis. |
| 8:29 | For thilke that he knewe bifor, he bifor ordenede bi grace to be maad lijk to the ymage of his sone, that he be the first bigetun among many britheren. |
| 8:30 | And thilke that he bifore ordeynede to blis, hem he clepide; and whiche he clepide, hem he iustifiede; and whiche he iustifiede, and hem he glorifiede. |
| 8:31 | What thanne schulen we seie to these thingis? If God for vs, who is ayens vs? |
| 8:32 | The which also sparide not his owne sone, but `for vs alle bitook hym, hou also yaf he not to vs alle thingis with hym? |
| 8:33 | Who schal accuse ayens the chosun men of God? It is God that iustifieth, |
| 8:34 | who is it that condempneth? It is Jhesus Crist that was deed, yhe, the which roos ayen, the which is on the riyt half of God, and the which preieth for vs. |
| 8:35 | Who thanne schal departe vs fro the charite of Crist? tribulacioun, or anguysch, or hungur, or nakidnesse, or persecucioun, or perel, or swerd? |
| 8:36 | As it is writun, For we ben slayn al dai for thee; we ben gessid as scheep of slauytir. |
| 8:37 | But in alle these thingis we ouercomen, for hym that louyde vs. |
| 8:38 | But Y am certeyn, that nethir deeth, nether lijf, nether aungels, nethir principatus, nether vertues, nether present thingis, nether thingis to comynge, nether strengthe, |
| 8:39 | nether heiyth, nether depnesse, nether noon othir creature may departe vs fro the charite of God, that is in `Crist Jhesu oure Lord. |
| 8:1 | Then is there now no damnacion vnto the that are in Christ Iesu, which walke not after the flesh, but after ye sprete. |
| 8:2 | For ye lawe of ye sprete (yt bryngeth life i Christ Iesu) hath made me fre fro the lawe of synne & death. |
| 8:3 | For what vnpossible was vnto ye lawe (in as moch as it was weake because of the flesh) yt perfourmed God, & sent his sonne in ye similitude of synfull flesh, |
| 8:4 | & by synne daned synne in ye flesh: that the righteousnes requyred of the lawe, mighte be fulfylled in vs, which walke not after the flesh, but after the sprete. |
| 8:5 | For they that are fleshly, are fleshly mynded: but they that are goostly, are goostly mynded. |
| 8:6 | To be fleshly mynded, is death: but to be goostly mynded, is life and peace. |
| 8:7 | For to be fleshly mynded is enemyte agaynst. God, syth it is not subdued vnto ye lawe of God, for it can not also. |
| 8:8 | As for the that are fleshlye, they can not please God. |
| 8:9 | Howbeit ye are not fleshly, but goostly, yf so be that the sprete of God dwell in you. But who so hath not the sprete of Christ, the same is not his. |
| 8:10 | Neuertheles yf Christ be in you, then is the body deed because of synne. But the sprete is life for righteousnes sake. |
| 8:11 | Wherfore yf the sprete of him, that raysed vp Iesus from the deed, dwell in you, then shal euen he also that raysed vp Christ from the deed, quycke youre mortal bodies, because yt his sprete dwelleth in you. |
| 8:12 | Therfore brethre we are now detters, not to the flesh, |
| 8:13 | to lyue after the flesh: for yf ye lyue after ye fleshe, ye must dye: but yf ye mortyfye the dedes of the body thorow the sprete, ye shal lyue. |
| 8:14 | For who so euer are led by the sprete of God, |
| 8:15 | are Gods childre: for ye haue not receaued the sprete of bondage to feare eny more, but ye haue receaued ye sprete of adopcion, wherby we crye: Abba, deare father. |
| 8:16 | The same sprete certifieth oure sprete, that we are the childre of God. |
| 8:17 | Yf we be childre, then are we heyres also, namely the heyres of God, and heyres annexed with Christ, yf so be that we suffer together, that we maye be also glorified together. |
| 8:18 | For I suppose, that the affliccions off this tyme, are not worthy of ye glorye, which shalbe shewed vpon vs. |
| 8:19 | For the feruent loginge of ye creature loketh for the appearinge of the children of God, |
| 8:20 | because the creature is subdued vnto vanyte agaynst hir will, but for his wyll that hath subdued her vpon hope. |
| 8:21 | For the creature also shal be fre from the bondage of corrupcion, vnto the glorious libertye of the childre of God. |
| 8:22 | For we knowe, that euery creature groneth, and trauayleth with vs in payne vnto the same tyme. |
| 8:23 | Not they only, but we oure selues also, which haue the first frutes of the sprete, grone within in oure selues for the childshippe, and loke for ye delyueraunce of oure bodye. |
| 8:24 | For we are saued i dede, howbeit i hope: but ye hope that is sene, is no hope: for how can a man hope for that which he seyeth? |
| 8:25 | But yf we hope for that which we se not, the do we thorow pacience abyde for it. |
| 8:26 | Likewyse the sprete also helpeth oure weaknesse: for we knowe not what we shulde desyre as we oughte: neuertheles ye sprete it selfe maketh intercession mightely for vs with vnoutspeakable gronynges. |
| 8:27 | Howbeit he yt searcheth the hert, knoweth what the mynde of the sprete is: for he maketh intercession for the sayntes acordinge to the pleasure of God. |
| 8:28 | But sure we are, that all thinges serue for the best vnto them that loue of God, which are called of purpose. |
| 8:29 | For those whom he knewe before, hath he ordeyned also before, yt they shulde be like fashioned vnto ye shappe of his sonne, yt he mighte be the first begotte amoge many brethre. |
| 8:30 | As for those whom he hath ordeyned before, them hath he called also: and whom he hath called, the hath he also made righteous: and whom he hath made righteous, them hath he glorified also. |
| 8:31 | What shal we saye then vnto these thinges? Yff God be on oure syde, who can be agaynst vs. |
| 8:32 | Which spared not his owne sonne, but hath geuen him for vs all: how shal he not with him geue vs all thinges also? |
| 8:33 | Who wyl laye enythinge to ye charge of Gods chosen? Here is God that maketh righteous, |
| 8:34 | who wil then condemne? Here is Christ that is deed, yee rather which is raysed vp agayne, which is also on ye righte hande of God, and maketh intercession for vs. |
| 8:35 | Who will separate vs from the loue of God? Trouble? or anguysh? or persecucio? or honger? or nakednesse? or parell? or swerde? |
| 8:36 | As it is wrytten: For thy sake are we kylled all the daye longe, we are counted as shepe appoynted to be slayne. |
| 8:37 | Neuerthelesse in all these thinges we ouercome farre, for his sake that loued vs. |
| 8:38 | For sure I am, that nether death ner life, nether angell, ner rule, nether power, nether thinges present, nether thinges to come, |
| 8:39 | nether heyth, ner loweth, nether eny other creature shalbe able to separate vs from the loue of God, which is in Christ Iesu oure LORDE. |
