Romans - Chapter: 11

>
11:1I saye then: hath God cast away hys people? God forbyd. For euen I verelye am an Israelite, of the sede of Abraham, and of the trybe of Beniamin,
11:2GOD hath not caste awaye hys people whiche he knewe before. Eyther wote ye not what the scripture sayth by the mouth of Helyas, how he maketh intercessyon to God agaynst Israel, saiynge:
11:3Lorde they haue killed thy prophetes and dygged downe thyne alters: and I am lefte onelye, and they seke my lyfe?
11:4But what sayth the aunswere of God to hym agayne? I haue reserued vnto me seuen thousande men whiche haue not bowed the knee to Baal.
11:5Euen so at thys tyme is there a remnaunte left thorow the election of grace.
11:6Yf it be of grace, then is it not of workes. For then were grace no more grace. Yf it be of workes, then is it no more grace. For then were deseruynge no lenger deseruynge.
11:7What then? Israell hath not obtayned that, that he soughte. No but the electyon hath obtayned it. The remnaunte are blynded,
11:8accordynge as it is wrytten. God hath geuen them the spirite of vnquyetnes: eyes that they should not se, and eares that they shoulde not heare euen vnto thys daye.
11:9And Dauyd sayth: Let theyr table be made a snare to take them wyth all, and an occasyon to fall, and a reward vnto them.
11:10Let theyr eyes be blynded that they se not: and euer bowe doune theyr backes.
11:11I saye then: Haue they therfore stombled, that they shoulde but falle onelye? God forbyd: but thorowe theyr fall is saluacyon happened vnto the gentyles for to prouoke them withall.
11:12Wherfore yf the fall of them, be the ryches of the worlde: and the minyshynge of them the ryches of the gentyles: Howe much more shoulde it be so, yf they all beleued?
11:13I speake to you gentyls, in as much as I am the Apostle of the gentyls: I wil magnify myne offyce,
11:14that I myght prouoke them which are my fleshe, and myght saue some of them.
11:15For yf the castynge awaye of them, be the reconcilinge of the worlde: what shall the receyuing of them be but lyfe agayne from death?
11:16For yf one piece be holye, the whole heape is holy & yf the rose be holy, the braunches are holy also.
11:17Thoughe some of the braunches be broken of, and thou beynge a wylde olyue tree, arte grafte in among them, and made partaker of the rote and fatnes of the olyue tree,
11:18bost not thy selfe agaynst the braunches. For yf thou boste thy selfe, remember that thou bearest not the rote, but the rote the.
11:19Thou wylte saye then: the braunches are broken of, that I might be grafte in.
11:20Thou sayeste well: because of vnbelefe they are broken of, & thou standest stedfaste in faythe.
11:21Be not hye mynded, but feare seyng that God spared not the naturall braunches, leste happlye he also spare not the.
11:22Beholde the kyndnes and rigorousnes of God on them which fell, rygorousnes: but towardes the kyndnes, yf thou contynue in hys kyndnes. Or els thou shalte be hewen of,
11:23and yf they byde not styll in vnbelefe, shalbe graffed in agayne. For God is of power to graffe them in agayn.
11:24For yf thou wast cut out of a naturall wylde olyue tree, and waste graffed contrary to nature into a true olyue tre, howe muche more shall the naturall braunches be graffed into theyr owne olyue tree agayne.
11:25I woulde not that thys secrete shoulde be hyd from you my brethren (leste ye should be wyse in youre owne conceptes) that partelye blyndenes is happened in Israell, vntyll the fulnes of the gentyls be come in:
11:26and so al Israel shalbe saued. As it is wrytten: There shal come oute of Syon he that doeth delyuer, and shall turne away the vngodlynes of Iacob.
11:27And this is my couenaunte vnto them, when I shall take awaye theyr synnes.
11:28As concernynge the Gospell, they are ennemyes for youre sakes: but as touchynge the eleccyon, they are beloued for the fathers sakes.
11:29For verelye the giftes and callyng of god are suche, that it cannot repente hym of them,
11:30for loke as ye in time passed, haue not beleued God, yet haue nowe obtayned mercy thorow theyr vnbelefe:
11:31euen so nowe haue they not beleued the mercye whiche is happened vnto you, that they also maye obtayne mercy.
11:32God hath wrapped all nacyons in vnbelefe, that he myght haue mercye on all.
11:33O the deapnes of the abundaunte wysedome and knoweledge of God: howe vnsearcheable are his iudgementes, and hys wayes paste fyndynge out?
11:34For who hath knoweth the mynde of the Lord? Or who was his counseller?
11:35Other who hath geuen vnto hym fyrst that he myghte be recompensed agayne?
11:36For of hym, and thorowe hym, and for hym, are all thynges. To hym be glorye for euer. Amen

11:1I Demaund then, Hath God cast away his people? God forbid: for I also am an Israelite, of the seede of Abraham, of the tribe of Beniamin.
11:2God hath not cast away his people which he knew before. Know ye not what the Scripture sayth of Elias, howe hee communeth with God against Israel, saying,
11:3Lord, they haue killed thy Prophets, and digged downe thine altars: and I am left alone, and they seeke my life?
11:4But what saith the answere of God to him? I haue reserued vnto my selfe seuen thousand men, which haue not bowed the knee to Baal.
11:5Euen so then at this present time is there a remnant according to the election of grace.
11:6And if it be of grace, it is no more of workes: or els were grace no more grace: but if it be of workes, it is no more grace: or els were worke no more worke.
11:7What then? Israel hath not obtained that he sought: but the election hath obteined it, and the rest haue bene hardened,
11:8According as it is written, God hath giuen them the spirit of slumber: eyes that they should not see, and eares that they should not heare vnto this day.
11:9And Dauid sayth, Let their table be made a snare, and a net, and a stumbling blocke, euen for a recompence vnto them.
11:10Let their eyes be darkened that they see not, and bowe downe their backe alwayes.
11:11I demaund then, Haue they stumbled, that they should fall? God forbid: but through their fall, saluation commeth vnto the Gentiles, to prouoke them to follow them.
11:12Wherefore if the fall of them be the riches of the world, and the diminishing of them the riches of the Gentiles, how much more shall their aboundance be?
11:13For in that I speake to you Gentiles, in as much as I am the Apostle of ye Gentiles, I magnifie mine office,
11:14To trie if by any meanes I might prouoke them of my flesh to follow them, and might saue some of them.
11:15For if the casting away of them be the reconciling of the world, what shall the receiuing be, but life from the dead?
11:16For if the first fruites be holy, so is the whole lumpe: and if the roote be holy, so are the branches.
11:17And though some of the branches be broken off, and thou being a wilde Oliue tree, wast graft in for them, and made partaker of the roote, and fatnesse of the Oliue tree.
11:18Boast not thy selfe against the branches: and if thou boast thy selfe, thou bearest not the roote, but the roote thee.
11:19Thou wilt say then, The branches are broken off, that I might be graft in.
11:20Well: through vnbeliefe they are broken off, and thou standest by faith: bee not hie minded, but feare.
11:21For if God spared not the naturall branches, take heede, least he also spare not thee.
11:22Beholde therefore the bountifulnesse, and seueritie of God: towarde them which haue fallen, seueritie: but toward thee, bountifulnesse, if thou continue in his bountifulnesse: or els thou shalt also be cut off.
11:23And they also, if they abide not still in vnbeliefe, shall be graffed in: for God is able to graffe them in againe.
11:24For if thou wast cut out of the Oliue tree, which was wilde by nature, and wast graffed contrary to nature in a right Oliue tree, how much more shall they that are by nature, bee graffed in their owne Oliue tree?
11:25For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this secret (least ye should bee arrogant in your selues) that partly obstinacie is come to Israel, vntill the fulnesse of the Gentiles be come in.
11:26And so all Israel shalbe saued, as it is written, The deliuerer shall come out of Sion, and shall turne away the vngodlinesse from Iacob.
11:27And this is my couenant to them, When I shall take away their sinnes.
11:28As concerning the Gospel, they are enemies for your sakes: but as touching the election, they are beloued for the fathers sakes.
11:29For the giftes and calling of God are without repentance.
11:30For euen as yee in times past haue not beleeued God, yet haue nowe obteined mercie through their vnbeliefe:
11:31Euen so nowe haue they not beleeued by the mercie shewed vnto you, that they also may obtaine mercie.
11:32For God hath shut vp all in vnbeliefe, that he might haue mercie on all.
11:33O the deepenesse of the riches, both of the wisdome, and knowledge of God! howe vnsearcheable are his iudgements, and his wayes past finding out!
11:34For who hath knowen the minde of the Lord? or who was his counsellour?
11:35Or who hath giuen vnto him first, and he shalbe recompensed?
11:36For of him, and through him, and for him are all things: to him be glory for euer. Amen.

11:1I say then, Hath God cast away his people? God forbidde. For I also am an Israelite of the seede of Abraham, of the tribe of Beniamin.
11:2God hath not cast away his people which hee foreknew. Wote yee not what the Scripture saieth of Elias? How hee maketh intercession to God against Israel, saying,
11:3Lord, they haue killed thy Prophets, and digged downe thine Altars, and I am left alone, and they seeke my life.
11:4But what saieth the answere of God vnto him? I haue reserued to my selfe seuen thousand men, who haue not bowed the knee to the image of Baal.
11:5Euen so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace.
11:6And if by grace, then is it no more of workes: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it bee of workes, then is it no more grace, otherwise worke is no more worke.
11:7What then? Israel hath not obtained that which he seeketh for, but the election hath obtained it, and the rest were blinded,
11:8According as it is written, God hath giuen them the spirit of slumber: eyes that they should not see, and eares that they should not heare vnto this day.
11:9And Dauid sayth, Let their table be made a snare, and a trap, and a stumbling blocke, and a recompense vnto them.
11:10Let their eyes be darkened, that they may not see, and bow downe their backe alway.
11:11I say then; Haue they stumbled that they should fall? God forbid. But rather through their fall, saluation is come vnto the Gentiles, for to prouoke them to ielousie.
11:12Now if the fall of them be the riches of the world, and the diminishing of them, the riches of the Gentiles: how much more their fulnesse?
11:13For I speake to you Gentiles, in as much as I am the Apostle of the Gentiles, I magnifie mine office:
11:14If by any means I may prouoke to emulation them which are my flesh, and might saue some of them.
11:15For if the casting away of them be the reconciling of the world: what shal the receiuing of them be, but life from the dead?
11:16For if the first fruite bee holy, the lumpe is also holy: and if the root be holy, so are the branches.
11:17And if some of the branches bee broken off, and thou being a wilde oliue tree wert graffed in amongst them, and with them partakest of the roote and fatnesse of the Oliue tree:
11:18Boast not against the branches: but if thou boast, thou bearest not the root, but the root thee.
11:19Thou wilt say then, The branches were broken off, that I might bee graffed in.
11:20Well: because of vnbeliefe they were broken off, and thou standest by fayth. Be not high minded, but feare.
11:21For if God spared not the natural branches, take heede least hee also spare not thee.
11:22Beholde therefore the goodnesse and seueritie of God: on them which fell, seueritie; but towards thee, goodnesse, if thou continue in his goodnesse: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.
11:23And they also, if they bide not still in vnbeliefe, shall be graffed in: for God is able to graffe them in againe.
11:24For if thou wert cut out of the Oliue tree which is wilde by nature, and wert graffed contrary to nature into a good Oliue tree: how much more shall these which be the naturall branches, bee graffed into their owne Oliue tree?
11:25For I would not, brethren, that ye should bee ignorant of this mysterie (least yee should bee wise in your owne conceits) that blindnesse in part is happened to Israel, vntill the fulnes of the Gentiles be come in.
11:26And so all Israel shall be saued, as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliuerer, and shall turne away vngodlinesse from Iacob.
11:27For this is my couenant vnto them, when I shall take away their sinnes.

11:29For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.
11:30For as yee in times past haue not beleeued God, yet haue now obtained mercy through their vnbeliefe:
11:31Euen so haue these also now not beleeued, that through your mercy they also may obtaine mercy.
11:32For God hath concluded them all in vnbeliefe, that he might haue mercy vpon all.
11:33O the depth of the riches both of the wisedome and knowledge of God! how vnsearchable are his iudgements, and his wayes past finding out!
11:34For who hath knowen the mind of the Lord, or who hath bene his counseller?
11:35Or who hath first giuen to him, and it shall bee recompensed vnto him againe?
11:36For of him, and through him, and to him are all things: to whom be glory for euer. Amen.
