| 13:1 | Though I spake with the tonges of men and of angels, and haue no loue. I am euen as sounding brasse, or as a tynklinge cymball. |
| 13:2 | And though I coulde prophesy, and vnderstode all secretes, and all knowledge: yee yf I haue all fayth, so that I can moue mountayns oute of their places, and yet haue no loue, I am nothynge. |
| 13:3 | And though I bestowe all my goodes to fede the poore, and though I geue my body euen that I burned, and yet haue no loue, it profyteth me nothynge. |
| 13:4 | Loue suffreth longe, and is curteous. Loue enuyeth not. Loue doth not frowardly, swelleth not, dealeth not dishonestly |
| 13:5 | seketh not her awne, is not prouoked to anger, thynketh no euyll, |

| 13:7 | suffreth all thynges, beleueth all thynges, hopeth all thynges, endureth all thynges. |
| 13:8 | Though that prophesyinges fayle, other tonges cease, or knowledge vanysshe awaye, yet loue falleth neuer awaye. |
| 13:9 | For oure knowledge is vnperfect, and oure prophesyinge is vnperfect. |
| 13:10 | But when that whych is perfect, is come, then that whych is vnperfect, shall be done awaye. |
| 13:11 | When I was a chylde, I spake as a chylde, I vnderstode as a chylde, I ymagined as a chylde. But assone as I was a man, I put awaye chyldeshnes. |
| 13:12 | Nowe we se in a glasse, euen in a darcke speakyng: but then shall we se face to face. Nowe I knowe vnperfectly: but then shall I knowe euen as I am knowen. |
| 13:13 | Nowe abydeth fayth, hope, and loue, euen these thre: but the chefe of these is loue. |
| 13:1 | If Y speke with tungis of men and of aungels, and Y haue not charite, Y am maad as bras sownynge, or a cymbal tynkynge. |
| 13:2 | And if Y haue prophecie, and knowe alle mysteries, and al kunnynge, and if Y haue al feith, so that Y meue hillis fro her place, and Y haue not charite, Y am nouyt. |
| 13:3 | And if Y departe alle my goodis in to the metis of pore men, and yf Y bitake my bodi, so that Y brenne, and if Y haue not charite, it profitith to me no thing. |
| 13:4 | Charite is pacient, it is benygne; charite enuyeth not, it doith not wickidli, it is not blowun, |
| 13:5 | it is not coueytouse, it sekith not tho thingis that ben hise owne, it is not stirid to wraththe, it thenkith not yuel, |
| 13:6 | it ioyeth not on wickidnesse, but it ioieth togidere to treuthe; |
| 13:7 | it suffrith alle thingis, it bileueth alle thingis, it hopith alle thingis, it susteyneth alle thingis. |
| 13:8 | Charite fallith neuere doun, whether prophecies schulen be voidid, ethir langagis schulen ceesse, ethir science schal be distried. |
| 13:9 | For a parti we knowun, and a parti we prophecien; |
| 13:10 | but whanne that schal come that is parfit, that thing that is of parti schal be auoidid. |
| 13:11 | Whanne Y was a litil child, Y spak as a litil child, Y vndurstood as a litil child, Y thouyte as a litil child; but whanne Y was maad a man, Y auoidide tho thingis that weren of a litil child. |
| 13:12 | And we seen now bi a myrour in derknesse, but thanne face to face; now Y knowe of parti, but thanne Y schal knowe, as Y am knowun. |
| 13:13 | And now dwellen feith, hope, and charite, these thre; but the most of these is charite. |

| 13:12 | Now we se thorow a glasse in a darke speakynge, but the shal we se face to face. Now I knowe vnperfectly: but the shal I knowe eue as I am knowne. |
| 13:13 | Now abydeth faith, hope, loue, these thre: but the greatest of these is loue. |
