1 Corinthians - Chapter: 13

>
13:1If Y speke with tungis of men and of aungels, and Y haue not charite, Y am maad as bras sownynge, or a cymbal tynkynge.
13:2And if Y haue prophecie, and knowe alle mysteries, and al kunnynge, and if Y haue al feith, so that Y meue hillis fro her place, and Y haue not charite, Y am nouyt.
13:3And if Y departe alle my goodis in to the metis of pore men, and yf Y bitake my bodi, so that Y brenne, and if Y haue not charite, it profitith to me no thing.
13:4Charite is pacient, it is benygne; charite enuyeth not, it doith not wickidli, it is not blowun,
13:5it is not coueytouse, it sekith not tho thingis that ben hise owne, it is not stirid to wraththe, it thenkith not yuel,
13:6it ioyeth not on wickidnesse, but it ioieth togidere to treuthe;
13:7it suffrith alle thingis, it bileueth alle thingis, it hopith alle thingis, it susteyneth alle thingis.
13:8Charite fallith neuere doun, whether prophecies schulen be voidid, ethir langagis schulen ceesse, ethir science schal be distried.
13:9For a parti we knowun, and a parti we prophecien;
13:10but whanne that schal come that is parfit, that thing that is of parti schal be auoidid.
13:11Whanne Y was a litil child, Y spak as a litil child, Y vndurstood as a litil child, Y thouyte as a litil child; but whanne Y was maad a man, Y auoidide tho thingis that weren of a litil child.
13:12And we seen now bi a myrour in derknesse, but thanne face to face; now Y knowe of parti, but thanne Y schal knowe, as Y am knowun.
13:13And now dwellen feith, hope, and charite, these thre; but the most of these is charite.

13:1Though I speake with the tongues of men and Angels, and haue not loue, I am as sounding brasse, or a tinkling cymbal.
13:2And though I had the gift of prophecie, and knewe all secrets and all knowledge, yea, if I had all faith, so that I could remooue mountaines and had not loue, I were nothing.
13:3And though I feede the poore with all my goods, and though I giue my body, that I be burned, and haue not loue, it profiteth me nothing.
13:4Loue suffreth long: it is bountifull: loue enuieth not: loue doeth not boast it selfe: it is not puffed vp:
13:5It doeth no vncomely thing: it seeketh not her owne things: it is not prouoked to anger: it thinketh not euill:
13:6It reioyceth not in iniquitie, but reioyceth in the trueth:
13:7It suffreth all things: it beleeueth all things: it hopeth all things: it endureth all things.
13:8Loue doeth neuer fall away, though that prophecyings be abolished, or the tongues cease, or knowledge vanish away.
13:9For we knowe in part, and we prophecie in part.
13:10But when that which is perfect, is come, then that which is in part, shalbe abolished.
13:11When I was a childe, I spake as a childe, I vnderstoode as a childe, I thought as a childe: but when I became a man, I put away childish thinges.
13:12For nowe we see through a glasse darkely: but then shall wee see face to face. Nowe I know in part: but then shall I know euen as I am knowen.
13:13And nowe abideth faith, hope and loue, euen these three: but the chiefest of these is loue.

13:1Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but do not have love, I have become as sounding brass or a clanging cymbal.
13:2And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.
13:3And though I give all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing.
13:4Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up;
13:5does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not easily provoked, thinks no evil;
13:6does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth;
13:7bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
13:8Love never fails. But if there are prophecies, they will fail; if there are tongues, they will cease; if there is knowledge, it will vanish away.
13:9Because, we know in part and we prophesy in part.
13:10But when that which is perfect has come, then that which is in part will be done away.
13:11When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things.
13:12Because, now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I will know just as I also am known.
13:13So now faith, hope, and love, abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.
