2 Corinthians - Chapter: 2

>
2:1But I determyned thys in my selfe, that I wold not come agayne to you in heauynes.
2:2For yf I make you sorye, who is it that shoulde make me glad, but the same which is made sorye by me?
2:3And I wrote thys same Epistle vnto you, leste yf I came, I shoulde take heauines of them, of whome I ought to reioyce. Certaynely thys confidence haue I in you al, that my ioye is the ioye of you al.
2:4For in great affliction and anguyshe of herte I wrote vnto you with many teares: not to make you sory, but that ye myght perceyue the loue which I haue most specially vnto you.
2:5Yf anye man haue caused sorowe the same hath not made me sory, but partelye: leaste I shoulde greue you all.
2:6It is suffycyente vnto the same man, that he was rebuked of many.
2:7So that nowe contrarywyse ye ought to forgeue hym, and comforte hym: leaste that same persone shoulde be swalowed vp, with ouer muche heauynes.
2:8Wherfore I exhorte you, that loue maye haue strengthe ouer hym.
2:9For this cause verely dyd I wryte, that I might know the profe of you, whether ye shoulde be obedyent in all thynges.
2:10To whom ye forgeue any thynge, I forgeue also. And verelye yf I forgeue anye thynge, to whome I forgaue it, for your sakes forgaue I it in the roume of Christe,
2:11leaste Sathan shoulde preuente vs. For thys thoughtes are not vnknowen vnto vs.
2:12When I was come to Troada for Christes gospels sake (and a greate dore was opened vnto me of the Lorde)
2:13I had no rest in my spyryte, because I founde not Titus my brother: but toke my leaue of them, and wente awaye vnto Macedonia.
2:14Thankes be vnto God whiche alwayes geueth vs the victorye in Christ, and openeth the sauour of hys knowledge by vs in euerye place.
2:15For we are vnto God the swete sauoure of Christe, bothe amonge them that are saued, and also among them whiche peryshe.
2:16To the one part are we the sauoure of death vnto death. And vnto the other parte are we the lauoure of lyfe vnto lyfe. And who is mete vnto these thynges?
2:17For we are not as many are which choppe & chaunge with the worde of god: but euen out of purenes, and by the power of God, and in the syghte of God, so speake we in Christe.

2:1Bvt I determined thus in my selfe, that I would not come againe to you in heauinesse.
2:2For if I make you sorie, who is he then that shoulde make me glad, but ye same which is made sorie by me?
2:3And I wrote this same thing vnto you, lest when I came, I should take heauines of them, of whom I ought to reioyce: this confidence haue I in you all, that my ioye is the ioye of you all.
2:4For in great affliction, and anguish of heart I wrote vnto you with many teares: not that yee should be made sorie, but that ye might perceiue the loue which I haue, specially vnto you.
2:5And if any hath caused sorowe, the same hath not made mee sorie, but partly (lest I should more charge him) you all.
2:6It is sufficient vnto the same man, that hee was rebuked of many.
2:7So that nowe contrariwise yee ought rather to forgiue him, and comfort him, lest the same shoulde bee swalowed vp with ouermuch heauinesse.
2:8Wherefore, I pray you, that you woulde confirme your loue towards him.
2:9For this cause also did I write, that I might knowe the proofe of you, whether yee would be obedient in all things.
2:10To whome yee forgiue any thing, I forgiue also: for verely if I forgaue any thing, to whome I forgaue it, for your sakes forgaue I it in the sight of Christ,
2:11Lest Satan should circumuent vs: for we are not ignorant of his enterprises.
2:12Furthermore, when I came to Troas to preach Christs Gospell, and a doore was opened vnto me of the Lord,
2:13I had no rest in my spirit, because I founde not Titus my brother, but tooke my leaue of them, and went away into Macedonia.
2:14Now thankes be vnto God, which alwaies maketh vs to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the sauour of his knowledge by vs in euery place.
2:15For wee are vnto God the sweete sauour of Christ, in them that are saued, and in them which perish.
2:16To the one we are the sauour of death, vnto death, and to the other the sauour of life, vnto life: and who is sufficient for these things?
2:17For wee are not as many, which make marchandise of the woorde of God: but as of sinceritie, but as of God in ye sight of God speake we in Christ.

2:1But I determined this with myself, that I would not come again to you in heaviness.
2:2For if I make you sorry, who is he then that maketh me glad, but the same which is made sorry by me?
2:3And I wrote this same unto you, lest, when I came, I should have sorrow from them of whom I ought to rejoice; having confidence in you all, that my joy is the joy of you all.
2:4For out of much affliction and anguish of heart I wrote unto you with many tears; not that ye should be grieved, but that ye might know the love which I have more abundantly unto you.
2:5But if any have caused grief, he hath not grieved me, but in part: that I may not overcharge you all.
2:6Sufficient to such a man is this punishment, which was inflicted of many.
2:7So that contrariwise ye ought rather to forgive him, and comfort him, lest perhaps such a one should be swallowed up with overmuch sorrow.
2:8Wherefore I beseech you that ye would confirm your love toward him.
2:9For to this end also did I write, that I might know the proof of you, whether ye be obedient in all things.
2:10To whom ye forgive any thing, I forgive also: for if I forgave any thing, to whom I forgave it, for your sakes forgave I it in the person of Christ;
2:11Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.
2:12Furthermore, when I came to Troas to preach Christ's gospel, and a door was opened unto me of the Lord,
2:13I had no rest in my spirit, because I found not Titus my brother: but taking my leave of them, I went from thence into Macedonia.
2:14Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place.
2:15For we are unto God a sweet savour of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish:
2:16To the one we are the savour of death unto death; and to the other the savour of life unto life. And who is sufficient for these things?
2:17For we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God: but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God speak we in Christ.
