2 Corinthians - Chapter: 5

>
5:1Because, we know that if our earthly house, this tent, is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.
5:2Because, in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed with our habitation which is from heaven,
5:3if indeed, having been clothed, we will not be found naked.
5:4Because, we who are in this tent groan, being burdened, not because we want to be unclothed, but further clothed, that mortality may be swallowed up by life.
5:5Now He who has prepared us for this very thing is God, who also has given to us the Spirit as a guarantee.
5:6Therefore we are always confident, knowing that while we are at home in the body we are absent from the Lord.
5:7Because we walk by faith, not by sight.
5:8We are confident, I proclaim, and willing rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord.
5:9Therefore we labor, so that whether present or absent, we may be accepted of Him.
5:10Because, we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether it is good or bad.
5:11Knowing, therefore, the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are made manifest to God, and I also trust are made manifest in your consciences.
5:12Because, we do not commend ourselves again to you, but give you opportunity to boast on our behalf, that you may have something to answer them who boast in appearance and not in heart.
5:13Because, if we are beside ourselves, it is for God; or if we are sober, it is for you.
5:14Because, the love of Christ compels us, because we have judged thus: that if One died for all, then all died;
5:15and that He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again.
5:16Therefore, from now on, we regard no one according to the flesh. Even though we have known Christ according to the flesh, yet from now on we know Him like this no longer.
5:17Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.
5:18Now all these things are from God, who has reconciled us to Himself by Jesus Christ, and has given to us the ministry of reconciliation,
5:19that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation.
5:20Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading to you through us: we urge you on Christ's behalf, be reconciled to God.
5:21Because, He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.

5:1For we knowe that if our earthly house of this tabernacle be destroyed, we haue a building giuen of God, that is, an house not made with handes, but eternall in the heauens.
5:2For therefore we sighe, desiring to be clothed with our house, which is from heauen.
5:3Because that if we be clothed, we shall not be found naked.
5:4For in deede we that are in this tabernacle, sigh and are burdened, because we would not be vnclothed, but would be clothed vpon, that mortalitie might be swalowed vp of life.
5:5And he that hath created vs for this thing, is God, who also hath giuen vnto vs the earnest of the Spirit.
5:6Therefore we are alway bolde, though we knowe that whiles we are at home in the bodie, we are absent from the Lord.
5:7(For we walke by faith, and not by sight.)
5:8Neuerthelesse, we are bolde, and loue rather to remoue out of the body, and to dwell with the Lord.
5:9Wherefore also we couet, that both dwelling at home, and remouing from home, we may be acceptable to him.
5:10For we must all appeare before the iudgement seate of Christ, that euery man may receiue the things which are done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or euill.
5:11Knowing therefore that terrour of the Lord, we persuade men, and we are made manifest vnto God, and I trust also that we are made manifest in your consciences.
5:12For we prayse not our selues againe vnto you, but giue you an occasion to reioyce of vs, that ye may haue to answere against them, which reioyce in the face, and not in the heart.
5:13For whether we be out of our wit, we are it to God: or whether we be in our right minde, we are it vnto you.
5:14For that loue of Christ constraineth vs,
5:15Because we thus iudge, that if one be dead for all, then were all dead, and he died for all, that they which liue, shoulde not henceforth liue vnto themselues, but vnto him which died for them, and rose againe.
5:16Wherefore, henceforth know we no man after the flesh, yea though wee had knowen Christ after the flesh, yet nowe henceforth know we him no more.
5:17Therefore if any man be in Christ, let him be a newe creature. Olde things are passed away: beholde, all things are become newe.
5:18And all things are of God, which hath reconciled vs vnto himselfe by Iesus Christ, and hath giuen vnto vs the ministerie of reconciliation.
5:19For God was in Christ, and reconciled the world to himselfe, not imputing their sinnes vnto them, and hath committed to vs the word of reconciliation.
5:20Now then are we ambassadours for Christ: as though God did beseeche you through vs, we pray you in Christes steade, that ye be reconciled to God.
5:21For he hath made him to be sinne for vs, which knewe no sinne, that we should be made the righteousnesse of God in him.

5:1We knowe suerly yf oure erthy mancion wherin we now dwell were destroyed that we have a bildinge ordeyned of god an habitacion not made with hondes but eternall in heve.
5:2And herefore sigh we desyringe to be clothed wt oure mansion which is from heven:
5:3so yet if that we be founde clothed and not naked.
5:4For as longe as we are in this tabernacle we sigh and are greved for we wold not be vnclothed but wolde be clothed apon that mortalite myght be swalowed vp of lyfe.
5:5He that hath ordeyned vs for this thynge ys god which very same hath geven vnto vs the ernest of the sprete.
5:6Therfore we are alwaye of good chere and knowe well that as longe as we are at home in the body we are absent from God.
5:7For we walke in fayth and se not.
5:8Neverthelesse we are of good comforte and had lever to be absent from the body and to be present with the lorde.
5:9Wherfore whether we be at home or from home we endeuoure oure selves to please him.
5:10For we must all appere before the iudgement seate of Christ that every man maye receave the workes of his body accordynge to that he hath done whether it be good or bad?
5:11Seynge then that we knowe how the lorde is to be feared we fare fayre with men. For we are knowen wel ynough vnto God. I trust also that we are knowen in youre consciences.
5:12We prayse not oure selves agayne vnto you but geve you an occasion to reioyce of vs that ye maye have some what agaynst the whych reioyce in the face and not in the hert.
5:13For yf we be to fervent to God are we to fervent. Yf we kepe measure for youre cause kepe we measure.
5:14For the love of Christ costrayneth vs be cause we thus iudge yf one be deed for all yt then are all deed
5:15and that he dyed for all that they which live shuld not hence forth live vnto them selves but vnto hym whith died for them and rose agayne.
5:16Wherfore henceforth knowe we no man after the flesshe. In somoche though we have knowe Christ after the flesshe now hence forthe knowe we hym so no more.
5:17Therfore yf eny man be in Christ he is a newe creature. Olde thynges are passed awaye beholde all thinges are be come newe.
5:18Neverthelesse all thinges are of god which hath reconciled vs vnto him sylfe by Iesus Christ and hath geven vnto vs the office to preach the atonement.
5:19For god was in Christ and made agrement bitwene the worlde and hym sylfe and imputed not their synnes vnto them: and hath comitted to vs the preachynge of ye atonmet.
5:20Now then are we messengers in the roume of Christ: even as though God did beseche you thorow vs: So praye we you in Christes stede that ye be atone with God:
5:21for he hath made him to be synne for vs which knewe no synne that we by his meanes shuld be that rightewesnes which before God is aloved.
