2 Corinthians - Chapter: 8

>
8:1I do you to wyt brethren, of the grace of God, which is geuen in the congregacyons of Macedonia,
8:2howe that the aboundaunce of theyr reioysynge is, that they are tryed with muche trybulacyon. And therto thoughe they were excedynge poore, yet haue they geuen excedynge richelye, and that in synglenesse.
8:3For to theyr powers (I beare recorde) ye and beyonde theyr power, they were wyllynge of theyr owne accorde,
8:4& prayed vs with great instaunce that we would receyue theyr benefyte, and suffer them to be partakers with other in mynystrynge to the saynctes.
8:5And thys they dyd, not as we loked for: but gaue theyr owne selues fyrste to the Lorde, and after vnto vs by the wyl of God:
8:6so that we coulde not but desyre Titus to accomplyshe the same beneuolence amonge you also, euen as he had begonne.
8:7Nowe therfore, as ye are ryche in al partties in fayth, in worde, in knoweledge, in all feruentnes, and in loue, which ye haue to vs: euen so se that ye be plenteous in thys beneuolence.
8:8Thys saye I not as commaundyng: but because other are so feruente, therfore proue I youre loue, whether it be perfecte or no.
8:9Ye knowe the lyberalytie of oure Lorde Iesus Christe, whiche though he were ryche, yet for youre sakes became pore that ye thorowe hys pouertye myght be made ryche.
8:10And I geue counsell hereto. For thys is expediente for you, whiche beganne, not to do onelye, but also to wyll, a yeare a go.
8:11Nowe therfore performe the dede: that as there was in you a redynes to wyll, euen so ye may performe the dede of that whiche ye haue.
8:12For yf there be fyrste a wyllynge mynde, it is accepted accordyng to that a man hath, and not accordynge to that he hath not.
8:13It is not my mynde that other be set at ease, and ye broughte into combraunce:
8:14but that there be equalnes nowe at thys tyme, that youre aboundaunce succoure theyr lacke: that theyr aboundaunce maye supplye youre lacke:
8:15that there may be equalitie, agreyng to that which is wryten. He that gathered muche, had neuer the more aboundaunce, and he that gathered lyttell had neuerthelesse.
8:16Thankes be vnto God, which put in the hert of Titus the same good mynde towarde you.
8:17For he accepted the requeste, yea rather he was so well willyng that of hys owne accorde he came vnto you.
8:18We haue sente with him that brother whose lande is the Gospell thorowe out all the congregacyons,
8:19and not so onely, but is also chosen of the congregacyons to be a felowe with vs in oure iorneye concernynge thys beneuolence that is ministred by vs vnto the prayse of the Lorde, and to stere vp youre prompte mynde.
8:20For this we eschue, that anye man shoulde rebuke vs in thys plentuous distribucyon, that is ministred by vs,
8:21and therfore make prouision for honest thynges, not in the syghte of God onelye, but also in the syght of men.
8:22We haue sent with them a brother of ours whome we haue oftentimes proued diligente in many thinges, but now much more diligent.
8:23The greate confydence whiche I haue in you hath caused me thus to do, partely for Tytus sake, whiche is my felowe and helper as concernynge you, partely because of other which are oure brethren, and the messengers of the congregacyons, and the glorye of Christe.
8:24Wherfore shewe vnto them the profe of your loue, and of the reioysynge that we haue of you, that the congregacyons maye se it.

8:1We doe you also to wit, brethren, of the grace of God bestowed vpon the Churches of Macedonia,
8:2Because in great triall of affliction their ioy abounded, and their most extreme pouertie abounded vnto their rich liberalitie.
8:3For to their power (I beare record) yea, and beyonde their power, they were willing,
8:4And praied vs with great instance that we woulde receiue the grace, and fellowship of the ministring which is toward the Saints.
8:5And this they did, not as we looked for: but gaue their owne selues, first to the Lord, and after vnto vs by the will of God,
8:6That we should exhort Titus, that as hee had begon, so he would also accomplish the same grace among you also.
8:7Therefore, as yee abound in euery thing, in faith and woorde, and knowledge, and in all diligence, and in your loue towardes vs, euen so see that yee abound in this grace also.
8:8This say I not by commandement, but because of the diligence of others: therefore prooue I the naturalnesse of your loue.
8:9For ye knowe the grace of our Lord Iesus Christ, that hee being rich, for your sakes became poore, that yee through his pouertie might be made rich.
8:10And I shewe my minde herein: for this is expedient for you, which haue begun not to doe onely, but also to will, a yeare agoe.
8:11Nowe therefore performe to doe it also, that as there was a readinesse to will, euen so yee may performe it of that which yee haue.
8:12For if there be first a willing minde, it is accepted according to that a man hath, and not according to that he hath not.
8:13Neither is it that other men should be eased and you grieued: But vpon like condition, at this time your abundance supplieth their lacke:
8:14That also their aboundance may bee for your lacke, that there may be equalitie:
8:15As it is written, Hee that gathered much, had nothing ouer, and hee that gathered litle, had not the lesse.
8:16And thanks be vnto God, which hath put in the heart of Titus the same care for you.
8:17Because hee accepted the exhortation, yea, hee was so carefull that of his owne accorde hee went vnto you.
8:18And wee haue sent also with him the brother, whose praise is in the Gospel throughout al the Churches.
8:19(And not so onely, but is also chosen of the Churches to be a fellowe in our iourney, concerning this grace that is ministred by vs vnto the glorie of the same Lord, and declaration of your prompt minde)
8:20Auoiding this, that no man shoulde blame vs in this aboundance that is ministred by vs,
8:21Prouiding for honest thinges, not onely before the Lord, but also before men.
8:22And we haue sent with them our brother, whom we haue oft times prooued to be diligent in many thinges, but nowe much more diligent, for the great confidence, which I haue in you.
8:23Whether any doe inquire of Titus, he is my fellowe and helper to you ward: or of our brethren, they are messengers of the Churches, and the glorie of Christ.
8:24Wherefore shew toward them, and before the Churches the proofe of your loue, and of the reioycing that we haue of you.

8:1Moreouer, brethren, wee do you to wit of the grace of God bestowed on the Churches of Macedonia,
8:2How that in a great trial of affliction, the abundance of their ioy, and their deepe pouertie, abounded vnto the riches of their liberalitie.
8:3For to their power (I beare record) yea, and beyond their power they were willing of themselues:
8:4Praying vs with much entreatie, that we would receiue the gift, and take vpon vs the fellowship of the ministring to the Saints.
8:5And this they did, not as we hoped, but first gaue their owne selues to the Lord, and vnto vs, by the will of God.
8:6In so much that wee desired Titus, that as he had begun, so hee would also finish in you, the same grace also.
8:7Therefore (as ye abound in euery thing, in faith, and vtterance, & knowledge, and in all diligence, and in your loue to vs) see that yee abound in this grace also.
8:8I speake not by commandement, but by occasion of the forwardnesse of others, and to prooue the sinceritie of your loue.
8:9For yee know the grace of our Lord Iesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poore, that yee through his pouertie might be rich.
8:10And herein I giue my aduice, for this is expedient for you, who haue begun before, not onely to doe, but also to be forward a yeere agoe.
8:11Now therefore performe the doing of it, that as there was a readinesse to will, so there may be a performance also out of that which you haue.
8:12For if there bee first a willing minde, it is accepted according to that a man hath, and not according to that he hath not.
8:13For I meane not that other men bee eased, and you burthened:
8:14But by an equalitie: that now at this time your abundance may be a supply for their want, that their abundance also may be a supply for your want, that there may be equalitie,
8:15As it is written, Hee that had gathered much, had nothing ouer, and hee that had gathered little, had no lacke.
8:16But thankes bee to God which put the same earnest care into the heart of Titus for you.
8:17For indeed he accepted the exhortation, but being more forward, of his owne accord he went vnto you.
8:18And wee haue sent with him the brother, whose praise is in the Gospel, throughout all the Churches.
8:19And not that onely, but who was also chosen of the Churches to trauaile with vs with this grace which is administred by vs to the glorie of the same Lord, and declaration of your readie minde.
8:20Auoyding this, that no man should blame vs in this aboundance which is administred by vs.
8:21Prouiding for honest things, not onely in the sight of the Lord, but in the sight of men.
8:22And we haue sent with them our brother, whom wee haue often times proued diligent in many things, but now much more diligent, vpon the great confidence which I haue in you.
8:23Whether any doe enquire of Titus; he is my partner and fellow helper concerning you: or our brethren bee enquired of, they are the messengers of the Churches, and the glorie of Christ.
8:24Wherefore shew ye to them, and before the Churches, the proofe of your loue, & of our boasting on your behalfe.
