Galatians - Chapter: 3

>
3:1O folyshe Galathyans: who hath wytched you, that ye should not beleue the truthe? To whom Iesus Christ was descrybed before the eyes, and among you crucyfyed.
3:2Thys onelye woulde I learne of you, receyued ye the spyryte by the dedes of the law, or els by preachynge of the faith?
3:3Are ye so vnwyse that after ye haue begonne in the spyryte, ye woulde nowe ende in the fleshe?
3:4So many thinges then ye haue suffered in vaine, yf that be vayne.
3:5Which mynistred to you the spyryte, and worketh myracles among you, doth he it thorowe the dedes of that lawe or by preachynge of the fayth?
3:6Euer as Abraham beleued God, and it was ascrybed to hym for ryghtuousnes.
3:7Vnderstande therfore, that they whiche are of fayth, the same are the chyldren of Abraham.
3:8For the scripture sawe afore hand, that God woulde iustifye the heathen thorow fayth, & therfore shewed before hand glad tydynges vnto Abraham. In the shall all nacyons be blessed.
3:9So then they whiche be of faythe are blessed with faythful Abraham.
3:10For as many as are vnder the dedes of the lawe, are vnder malediccyon. For it is wrytten: cursed is euery man that contynueth not in all thynges, whiche are wrytten in the boke of the law, to fulfyll them.
3:11That no man is iustifyed by the lawe in the syght of God, is euydente. For the iuste shall lyue by fayth.
3:12The lawe is not of fayth: but the man that fulfylleth the thinges contayned in the lawe, shall lyue in them.
3:13But Christ hath delyuered vs from the curse of the lawe, and was made accursed for vs. For it is wrytten: cursed is euery one that hangeth on tre,
3:14that the blessyng of Abraham myghte come on the Gentyles thorowe Iesus Christ and that we myght receyue the promes of the spyryte thorow fayth.
3:15Brethren I wyll speake after the maner of men. Thoughe it be but a mans testamente, yet no man despyseth it, or addeth any thyng there to when it is once alowed.
3:16To Abraham and hys seede were the promyses made. He sayth not in the sedes as in manye: but in thy sede as in one, whiche is Christe.
3:17Thys I saye, that the lawe which beganne afterward beyonde: .iiij.C. and .xxx. yeares doth not disanull the testament, that was confyrmed afore of God vnto Christe warde, to make the promes of none effecte.
3:18For yf the inherytaunce come of the lawe, it commeth not of promes. But God gaue it vnto Abraham by promes
3:19Wherfore then serueth the lawe? The law was added because of transgressyon (tyll the sede came to whiche the promes was made) & it was ordeyned by angels in the hande of a mediator,
3:20he is not a mediator of one. But God is one.
3:21Is the lawe then agaynst the promes of God? God forbyd. Howbeit yf there had bene a lawe geuen whiche could haue geuen lyfe: then no doubt ryghteousnes should haue come by the lawe.
3:22But the scrypture concluded all thynges vnder synne that the promes by the fayth of Iesus Christe shoulde be geuen vnto them that beleue.
3:23Before that fayth came, we were kept and shut vp vnder the lawe, to the fayth which shuld afterward be declared.
3:24Wherfore the lawe was our scholemaster to the tyme of Christ, that we might be made ryghtuouse by fayth.
3:25But after that fayth is come, nowe are we no lenger vnder a scholemayster.
3:26For ye are al the sonnes of God, by the fayth whiche is in Christe Iesus.
3:27For al ye that are baptysed, haue put on Christ.
3:28Nowe is there no Iewe neyther gentyle, ther is neyther bonde nor free: there is neyther man nor woman, but ye are all one thyng in christ Iesu.
3:29Yf ye be Christes, then are ye Abrahams seede and heyres by promes.

3:1O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the trueth, to whome Iesus Christ before was described in your sight, and among you crucified?
3:2This only would I learne of you, Receiued ye the Spirit by the workes of the Lawe, or by the hearing of faith preached?
3:3Are ye so foolish, that after ye haue begun in the Spirit, ye would now be made perfect by the flesh?
3:4Haue ye suffered so many things in vaine? if so be it be euen in vaine.
3:5He therefore that ministreth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, doeth he it through the workes of the Law, or by the hearing of faith preached?
3:6Yea rather as Abraham beleeued God, and it was imputed to him for righteousnes.
3:7Knowe ye therefore, that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham.
3:8For the Scripture foreseeing, that God would iustifie the Gentiles through faith, preached before the Gospel vnto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all the Gentiles be blessed.
3:9So then they which be of faith, are blessed with faithfull Abraham.
3:10For as many as are of the workes of the Lawe, are vnder the curse: for it is written, Cursed is euery man that continueth not in all things, which are written in the booke of the Law, to doe them.
3:11And that no man is iustified by the Law in the sight of God, it is euident: for the iust shall liue by faith.
3:12And the Lawe is not of faith: but the man that shall doe those things, shall liue in them.
3:13Christ hath redeemed vs from the curse of the Lawe, made a curse for vs, (for it is written, Cursed is euery one that hangeth on tree)
3:14That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Christ Iesus, that wee might receiue the promise of the Spirite through faith.
3:15Brethren, I speake as men do: though it be but a mans couenant, when it is confirmed, yet no man doeth abrogate it, or addeth any thing thereto.
3:16Nowe to Abraham and his seede were the promises made. Hee saith not, And to the seedes, as speaking of many: but, And to thy seede, as of one, which is Christ.
3:17And this I say, that the couenant that was confirmed afore of God in respect of Christ, the Lawe which was foure hundreth and thirtie yeeres after, can not disanull, that it shoulde make the promise of none effect.
3:18For if the inheritance be of the Lawe, it is no more by the promise, but God gaue it freely vnto Abraham by promise.
3:19Wherefore then serueth the Law? It was added because of the transgressions, til the seed came, vnto the which the promise was made: and it was ordeined by Angels in the hande of a Mediatour.
3:20Nowe a Mediatour is not a Mediatour of one: but God is one.
3:21Is the Lawe then against the promises of God? God forbid: For if there had bene a Lawe giuen which coulde haue giuen life, surely righteousnes should haue bene by the Lawe.
3:22But the Scripture hath concluded all vnder sinne, that the promise by the faith of Iesus Christ should be giuen to them that beleeue.
3:23But before faith came, we were kept vnder the Law, as vnder a garison, and shut vp vnto that faith, which should afterward be reueiled.
3:24Wherefore the Lawe was our scholemaster to bring vs to Christ, that we might be made righteous by faith.
3:25But after that faith is come, we are no longer vnder a scholemaster.
3:26For ye are al the sonnes of God by faith, in Christ Iesus.
3:27For all ye that are baptized into Christ, haue put on Christ.
3:28There is neither Iewe nor Grecian: there is neither bonde nor free: there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Iesus.
3:29And if ye be Christes, then are ye Abrahams seede, and heires by promise.

3:1O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you?
3:2This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?
3:3Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?
3:4Have ye suffered so many things in vain? if it be yet in vain.
3:5He therefore that ministereth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, doeth he it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?
3:6Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.
3:7Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham.
3:8And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed.
3:9So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham.
3:10For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.
3:11But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith.
3:12And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them.
3:13Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:
3:14That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
3:15Brethren, I speak after the manner of men; Though it be but a man's covenant, yet if it be confirmed, no man disannulleth, or addeth thereto.
3:16Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.
3:17And this I say, that the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in Christ, the law, which was four hundred and thirty years after, cannot disannul, that it should make the promise of none effect.
3:18For if the inheritance be of the law, it is no more of promise: but God gave it to Abraham by promise.
3:19Wherefore then serveth the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator.
3:20Now a mediator is not a mediator of one, but God is one.
3:21Is the law then against the promises of God? God forbid: for if there had been a law given which could have given life, verily righteousness should have been by the law.
3:22But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe.
3:23But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed.
3:24Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.
3:25But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.
3:26For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.
3:27For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
3:28There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.
3:29And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.
