Deuteronomy - Chapter: 16


16:1	Observe the month of Abib, and keep the passover unto the LORD thy God: for in the month of Abib the LORD thy God brought thee forth out of Egypt by night.
16:2	Thou shalt therefore sacrifice the passover unto the LORD thy God, of the flock and the herd, in the place which the LORD shall choose to place his name there.
16:3	Thou shalt eat no leavened bread with it; seven days shalt thou eat unleavened bread therewith, even the bread of affliction: for thou camest forth out of the land of Egypt in haste: that thou mayest remember the day when thou camest forth out of the land of Egypt all the days of thy life.
16:4	And there shall be no leavened bread seen with thee in all thy coast seven days; neither shall there any thing of the flesh, which thou sacrificedst the first day at even, remain all night until the morning.
16:5	Thou mayest not sacrifice the passover within any of thy gates, which the LORD thy God giveth thee:
16:6	But at the place which the LORD thy God shall choose to place his name in, there thou shalt sacrifice the passover at even, at the going down of the sun, at the season that thou camest forth out of Egypt.
16:7	And thou shalt roast and eat it in the place which the LORD thy God shall choose: and thou shalt turn in the morning, and go unto thy tents.
16:8	Six days thou shalt eat unleavened bread: and on the seventh day shall be a solemn assembly to the LORD thy God: thou shalt do no work therein.
16:9	Seven weeks shalt thou number unto thee: begin to number the seven weeks from such time as thou beginnest to put the sickle to the corn.
16:10	And thou shalt keep the feast of weeks unto the LORD thy God with a tribute of a freewill offering of thine hand, which thou shalt give unto the LORD thy God, according as the LORD thy God hath blessed thee:
16:11	And thou shalt rejoice before the LORD thy God, thou, and thy son, and thy daughter, and thy manservant, and thy maidservant, and the Levite that is within thy gates, and the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, that are among you, in the place which the LORD thy God hath chosen to place his name there.
16:12	And thou shalt remember that thou wast a bondman in Egypt: and thou shalt observe and do these statutes.
16:13	Thou shalt observe the feast of tabernacles seven days, after that thou hast gathered in thy corn and thy wine:
16:14	And thou shalt rejoice in thy feast, thou, and thy son, and thy daughter, and thy manservant, and thy maidservant, and the Levite, the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, that are within thy gates.
16:15	Seven days shalt thou keep a solemn feast unto the LORD thy God in the place which the LORD shall choose: because the LORD thy God shall bless thee in all thine increase, and in all the works of thine hands, therefore thou shalt surely rejoice.
16:16	Three times in a year shall all thy males appear before the LORD thy God in the place which he shall choose; in the feast of unleavened bread, and in the feast of weeks, and in the feast of tabernacles: and they shall not appear before the LORD empty:
16:17	Every man shall give as he is able, according to the blessing of the LORD thy God which he hath given thee.
16:18	Judges and officers shalt thou make thee in all thy gates, which the LORD thy God giveth thee, throughout thy tribes: and they shall judge the people with just judgment.
16:19	Thou shalt not wrest judgment; thou shalt not respect persons, neither take a gift: for a gift doth blind the eyes of the wise, and pervert the words of the righteous.
16:20	That which is altogether just shalt thou follow, that thou mayest live, and inherit the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.
16:21	Thou shalt not plant thee a grove of any trees near unto the altar of the LORD thy God, which thou shalt make thee.
16:22	Neither shalt thou set thee up any image; which the LORD thy God hateth.


16:1	שׁמור את חדשׁ האביב ועשׂית פסח ליהוה אלהיך כי בחדשׁ האביב הוציאך יהוה אלהיך ממצרים לילה׃
16:2	וזבחת פסח ליהוה אלהיך צאן ובקר במקום אשׁר יבחר יהוה לשׁכן שׁמו שׁם׃
16:3	לא תאכל עליו חמץ שׁבעת ימים תאכל עליו מצות לחם עני כי בחפזון יצאת מארץ מצרים למען תזכר את יום צאתך מארץ מצרים כל ימי חייך׃
16:4	ולא יראה לך שׂאר בכל גבלך שׁבעת ימים ולא ילין מן הבשׂר אשׁר תזבח בערב ביום הראשׁון לבקר׃
16:5	לא תוכל לזבח את הפסח באחד שׁעריך אשׁר יהוה אלהיך נתן׃
16:6	כי אם אל המקום אשׁר יבחר יהוה אלהיך לשׁכן שׁמו שׁם תזבח את הפסח בערב כבוא השׁמשׁ מועד צאתך ממצרים׃
16:7	ובשׁלת ואכלת במקום אשׁר יבחר יהוה אלהיך בו ופנית בבקר והלכת לאהליך׃
16:8	שׁשׁת ימים תאכל מצות וביום השׁביעי עצרת ליהוה אלהיך לא תעשׂה מלאכה׃
16:9	שׁבעה שׁבעת תספר לך מהחל חרמשׁ בקמה תחל לספר שׁבעה שׁבעות׃
16:10	ועשׂית חג שׁבעות ליהוה אלהיך מסת נדבת ידך אשׁר תתן כאשׁר יברכך יהוה אלהיך׃
16:11	ושׂמחת לפני יהוה אלהיך אתה ובנך ובתך ועבדך ואמתך והלוי אשׁר בשׁעריך והגר והיתום והאלמנה אשׁר בקרבך במקום אשׁר יבחר יהוה אלהיך לשׁכן שׁמו שׁם׃
16:12	וזכרת כי עבד היית במצרים ושׁמרת ועשׂית את החקים האלה׃
16:13	חג הסכת תעשׂה לך שׁבעת ימים באספך מגרנך ומיקבך׃
16:14	ושׂמחת בחגך אתה ובנך ובתך ועבדך ואמתך והלוי והגר והיתום והאלמנה אשׁר בשׁעריך׃
16:15	שׁבעת ימים תחג ליהוה אלהיך במקום אשׁר יבחר יהוה כי יברכך יהוה אלהיך בכל תבואתך ובכל מעשׂה ידיך והיית אך שׂמח׃
16:16	שׁלושׁ פעמים בשׁנה יראה כל זכורך את פני יהוה אלהיך במקום אשׁר יבחר בחג המצות ובחג השׁבעות ובחג הסכות ולא יראה את פני יהוה ריקם׃
16:17	אישׁ כמתנת ידו כברכת יהוה אלהיך אשׁר נתן׃
16:18	שׁפטים ושׁטרים תתן לך בכל שׁעריך אשׁר יהוה אלהיך נתן לך לשׁבטיך ושׁפטו את העם משׁפט צדק׃
16:19	לא תטה משׁפט לא תכיר פנים ולא תקח שׁחד כי השׁחד יעור עיני חכמים ויסלף דברי צדיקם׃
16:20	צדק צדק תרדף למען תחיה וירשׁת את הארץ אשׁר יהוה אלהיך נתן׃
16:21	לא תטע לך אשׁרה כל עץ אצל מזבח יהוה אלהיך אשׁר תעשׂה׃
16:22	ולא תקים לך מצבה אשׁר שׂנא יהוה אלהיך׃


16:1	`Observe the month of Abib -- and thou hast made a passover to Jehovah thy God, for in the month of Abib hath Jehovah thy God brought thee out of Egypt by night;
16:2	and thou hast sacrificed a passover to Jehovah thy God, of the flock, and of the herd, in the place which Jehovah doth choose to cause His name to tabernacle there.
16:3	`Thou dost not eat with it any fermented thing, seven days thou dost eat with it unleavened things, bread of affliction; for in haste thou hast come out of the land of Egypt; so that thou dost remember the day of thy coming out of the land of Egypt all days of thy life;
16:4	and there is not seen with thee leaven in all thy border seven days, and there doth not remain of the flesh which thou dost sacrifice at evening on the first day till morning.
16:5	`Thou art not able to sacrifice the passover within any of thy gates which Jehovah thy God is giving to thee,
16:6	except at the place which Jehovah thy God doth choose to cause His name to tabernacle -- there thou dost sacrifice the passover in the evening, at the going in of the sun, the season of thy coming out of Egypt;
16:7	and thou hast cooked and eaten in the place on which Jehovah thy God doth fix, and hast turned in the morning, and gone to thy tents;
16:8	six days thou dost eat unleavened things, and on the seventh day `is' a restraint to Jehovah thy God; thou dost do no work.
16:9	`Seven weeks thou dost number to thee; from the beginning of the sickle among the standing corn thou dost begin to number seven weeks,
16:10	and thou hast made the feast of weeks to Jehovah thy God, a tribute of a free-will offering of thy hand, which thou dost give, as Jehovah thy God doth bless thee.
16:11	And thou hast rejoiced before Jehovah thy God, thou, and thy son, and thy daughter, and thy man-servant, and thy handmaid, and the Levite who `is' within thy gates, and the sojourner, and the fatherless, and the widow, who `are' in thy midst, in the place which Jehovah thy God doth choose to cause His name to tabernacle there,
16:12	and thou hast remembered that a servant thou hast been in Egypt, and hast observed and done these statutes.
16:13	`The feast of booths thou dost make for thee seven days, in thine in-gathering of thy threshing-floor, and of thy wine-vat;
16:14	and thou hast rejoiced in thy feast, thou, and thy son, and thy daughter, and thy man-servant, and thy handmaid, and the Levite, and the sojourner, and the fatherless, and the widow, who `are' within thy gates.
16:15	Seven days thou dost feast before Jehovah thy God, in the place which Jehovah doth choose, for Jehovah thy God doth bless thee in all thine increase, and in every work of thy hands, and thou hast been only rejoicing.
16:16	`Three times in a year doth every one of thy males appear before Jehovah thy God in the place which He doth choose -- in the feast of unleavened things, and in the feast of weeks, and in the feast of booths; and they do not appear before Jehovah empty;
16:17	each according to the gift of his hand, according to the blessing of Jehovah thy God, which He hath given to thee.
16:18	`Judges and authorities thou dost make to thee within all thy gates which Jehovah thy God is giving to thee, for thy tribes; and they have judged the people -- a righteous judgment.
16:19	Thou dost not turn aside judgment; thou dost not discern faces, nor take a bribe, for the bribe blindeth the eyes of the wise, and perverteth the words of the righteous.
16:20	Righteousness -- righteousness thou dost pursue, so that thou livest, and hast possessed the land which Jehovah thy God is giving to thee.
16:21	`Thou dost not plant for thee a shrine of any trees near the altar of Jehovah thy God, which thou makest for thyself,
16:22	and thou dost not raise up to thee any standing image which Jehovah thy God is hating.
