1 Thessalonians - Chapter: 1

1:1Paule, Siluanus, and Tymotheus. Vnto the congregation of the Thessalonyans in God the father, and in the lord Iesus Christ. Grace be with you, & peace from God our father, & from the Lord Iesus Christ.
1:2We geue God thankes alwayes for you all, makinge mention of you in oure prayers
1:3wythoute ceasinge, and cal to remembraunce your worke the fayth, and laboure in loue & perseueraunce in the hope of our Lord Iesus Christ, in the syght of God oure father,
1:4because we know brethren beloued of God, how that ye are electe.
1:5For oure Gospell came not to you in worde onelye, but also in power, and in the holye Ghoste, and in muche certaintie, as ye know after what maner we behaued our selues among you, for your sakes.
1:6And ye became folowers of vs and of the Lord, and receyued the worde with much affliccion, with ioye of the holye ghoste:
1:7so that ye were an ensample to al that beleue in Macedonia and Achaia.
1:8For from you sounded out the worde of the Lord, not in Macedonia & in Achaia onelye: but your fayth also which ye haue vnto God, sprede her selfe abrode in all quarters, so greatlye that it neadeth not vs to speake any thynge at all.
1:9For they them selues shewe of you, what maner of entering in we had vnto you, and howe ye turned vnto God from Images, for to serue the liuing and true God,
1:10and for to loke for hys sonne from heauen, whom he raised from death. I meane Iesus which deliuered vs from wrath to come.

1:3without ceasynge, & call you to remembraunce because of the worke of your fayth, and labour in loue, and because ye haue contynued in the hope of oure Lorde Iesus Christ, in the syght of God our father.
1:4We knowe brethren (beloued of God) how that ye are electe.
1:5For oure Gospel came not vnto you by worde onely, but also by power, and by the holy goost, and by moch certayntye, as ye knowe, after what maner we be haued oure selues amonge you, for your sake.
1:6And ye became folowers of vs and of the Lorde, receauynge the worde with moch affliccyon, with ioye of the holy goost:
1:7so that ye were an ensample to all that beleue in Macedonia and Achaia.
1:8For from you sounded out the worde of the Lorde, not in Macedonia and in Achaia onely: but youre fayth also which ye haue vnto God, spred her selfe abroade in all quartars, so that it nedeth not vs to speake eny thynge at al.
1:9For they them selues shewe of you, what maner of entring in we had vnto you and how ye tourned to God from ymages, for to serue the liuynge and true God,
1:10and for to loke for hys sonne from heauen, whom he raysed from deeth: euen Iesus, whych delyuereth vs from the wrath to come.

 

1:1Pavl, and Siluanus, and Timotheus, vnto the Church of the Thessalonians, which is in God the Father, and in the Lord Iesus Christ: Grace be with you, and peace from God our Father, and from the Lord Iesus Christ.
1:2We giue God thankes alwayes for you all, making mention of you in our prayers
1:3Without ceasing, remembring your effectuall faith, and diligent loue, and the patience of your hope in our Lord Iesus Christ, in the sight of God euen our Father,
1:4Knowing, beloued brethren, that ye are elect of God.
1:5For our Gospell was not vnto you in worde only, but also in power, and in the holy Ghost, and in much assurance, as ye know after what maner we were among you for your sakes.
1:6And ye became followers of vs, and of the Lord, and receiued the worde in much affliction, with ioy of the holy Ghost,
1:7So that ye were as ensamples to all that beleeue in Macedonia and in Achaia.
1:8For from you sounded out the worde of the Lord, not in Macedonia and in Achaia only: but your faith also which is toward God, spred abroad in all quarters, that we neede not to speake any thing.
1:9For they themselues shew of vs what maner of entring in we had vnto you, and how ye turned to God from idoles, to serue the liuing and true God,
1:10And to looke for his sonne from heauen, whome he raised from the dead, euen Iesus which deliuereth vs from that wrath to come.
