1 Thessalonians - Chapter: 3

>
3:1For which thing we suffriden no lengere, and it pleside to vs to dwelle aloone at Atenys;
3:2and we senten Tymothe, oure brother, and mynystre of God in the euangelie of Crist, to you to be confermyd, and to be tauyt for youre feith,
3:3that no man be mouyd in these tribulaciouns. For ye silf witen, that in this this thing we ben set.
3:4For whanne we weren at you, we biforseiden to you, that we schulden suffre tribulaciouns; as it is don, and ye witen.
3:5Therfor Y Poul, no lenger abidinge, sente to knowe youre feith, lest perauenture he that temptith tempte you, and youre trauel be maad veyn.
3:6But now, whanne Tymothe schal come to vs fro you, and telle to vs youre feith and charite, and that ye han good mynde of vs, euere desyringe to se vs, as we also you;
3:7therfor, britheren, we ben coumfortid in you, in al oure nede and tribulacioun, bi youre feith.
3:8For now we lyuen, if ye stonden in the Lord.
3:9For what doyng of thankingis moun we yelde to God for you, in al ioye, in which we ioyen for you bifor oure Lord?
3:10nyyt and dai more plenteuousli preiynge, that we se youre face, and fulfille tho thingis that failen to youre feith.
3:11But God hym silf and oure fadir, and the Lord Jhesu Crist, dresse oure weye to you.
3:12And the Lord multiplie you, and make youre charite to be plenteuouse of ech to othere, and in to alle men, as also we in you;
3:13that youre hertis ben confermyd with outen pleynt in holynesse, bifor God and oure fadir, in the comyng of oure Lord Jhesu Crist with alle hise seyntis. Amen.

 

3:1Wherfore sence we coulde no lenger forbeare it pleased vs to remayne at Athens alone
3:2and sent Timotheus oure brother and minister of god and oure laboure felowe in the gospell of Christ to stablysshe you and to coforte you over youre fayth
3:3yt no ma shulde be moved in these affliccios. For ye youre selves knowe that we are even apoynted therevnto.
3:4For verely when I was with you I tolde you before that we shulde suffre tribulacion even as it came to passe and as ye knowe.
3:5For this cause when I coulde no lenger forbeare I sent that I myght have knowledge of youre fayth lest haply the tempter had tempted you and that oure laboure had bene bestowed in vayne.
3:6But now lately whe Timotheus came fro you vnto vs and declared to vs youre fayth and youre love and how that ye have good remembraunce of vs all wayes desyringe to se vs as we desyre to se you.
3:7Therfore brethre we had consolacion in you in all oure adversite and necessite through youre fayth.
3:8For now are we alyve yf ye stonde stedfast in the lorde.
3:9For what thankes can we recompence to god agayne for you over all the ioye that we ioye for youre sakes before oure god
3:10whyle we nyght and daye praye excedingly that we myght se you presently and myght fulfill that wich is lackynge in youre fayth.
3:11God him silfe oure father and oure lorde Iesus Christ gyde oure iorney vnto you:
3:12and the lorde increace you and make you flowe ouer in love one towarde another and towarde all men even as we do towarde you
3:13to make youre hertes stable and vnblameable in holynes before God oure father at the commynge of oure Lorde Iesus Christ with all his sainctes.

3:2& sent Timotheus oure brother and mynister of God, and oure helper in ye gospell of Christ, to stablysh you and to comforte you in youre faith,
3:3that noman shulde be moued in these troubles: (for ye youre selues knowe, that we are euen appoynted there vnto.
3:4And whan we were with you, we tolde you before, that we shulde suffre tribulacion, euen as it is come to passe, & as ye knowe.)
3:5For this cause seynge I coulde no longer forbeare, I sent, that I mighte haue knowlege of youre faith, lest happly the tempter had tempted you, and lest oure laboure had bene in vayne.
3:6But now that Timotheus is come fro you vnto vs, and hath shewed vs of youre faith and loue, & how that ye haue allwaye good remembraunce of vs, desyringe to se vs as we also longe to se you:
3:7therfore brethren we haue consolacion in you in all oure trouble and necessite thorow youre faith.
3:8For now are we alyue, yf ye stonde stedfast in ye LORDE.
3:9For what thankes can we recompece to God agayne for you, because of this ioye that we haue concernynge you before oure God?
3:10We praye exceadingly daye and nighte, that we mighte se you presently, and fulfill that which is lackynge in yor faith.
3:11God himselfe or father & or LORDE Iesus Christ gyde oure iourney vnto you.
3:12But the LORDE increace you, & make you flowe ouer in loue one towarde another, and towarde all men (euen as we do towarde you)
3:13that yor hertes maye be stable and vnblameable in holynes before God oure father, at the commynge of oure LORDE Iesus Christ with all his sayntes.
