5:2for ye youre selues knowe perfectly that the daie of the Lorde shall come euen as a thefe in the nyght.
5:3When they shal say peace and no daunger, then commeth on them soden destruccion, as the trauaylynge of a woman wyth chyld, and they shal not escape.
5:4But ye brethren are not in darckenes, that that daye shoulde come on you as it were a thefe.
5:5Ye are all the chyldren of lyght and the chyldren of the daye. We are not of the nyghte neither of darckenes.
5:6Therfore let vs not slepe as do other: but let vs watche & be sober.
5:7For they that slepe, slepe in the nyght: and they that be droncken, are droncken in the nyght.
5:8But let vs whiche are of the daye, be sober, armed wyth the breste plate of fayth and loue, and wyth hope of saluacyon as an helmet.
5:9For God hath not annoynted vs vnto wrath: but to obtayne saluacyon by the meanes of oure Lord Iesu Christ
5:10whyche dyed for vs: that whether we wake or slepe, we shoulde liue together wyth hym.
5:11Wherfore comforte your selues together, and edifye one another, euen as ye do.

5:13and geue you exhortacyon, that ye haue them the more in loue for theyr workes sake, and be at peace wyth them.
5:14We desyre you brethren, warne them that are vnruly, comforte the feble minded, forbeare the weake, haue contynuall pacience towarde all men.
5:15Se that none recompence euyll for euyll vnto any man: but euer folowe that which is good, both among your selues, and to all men.
5:16Reioyse euer.
5:17Praye contynuallye.
5:18In all thinges geue thankes. For thys is the wyll of God in Christe Iesu towarde you.

5:1Finally of the tymes & seasons (brethren) it is no nede that I wryte vnto you:
5:2for ye yourselues know perfectly, that the daye of the Lord shall come, euen as a thefe in the nyght.
5:3For when they shall saye, peace and all thynges are safe, then shall soden destruccyon come vpon them (as sorowe commeth vpon a woman traualynge with chylde) & they shall not scape:
5:4But ye brethren are not in darcknes, that that daye shulde come on you as a thefe.
5:5Ye are all the chyldren of lyght, and the chyldren of the daye. We are not of the nyght nether of darknes.
5:6Therfore let vs not slepe as do other: but let vs wacth, & be sober.
5:7For they that slepe, slepe in the nyght: & they that be droncken, are droncken in the nyght.
5:8But let vs whych are of the daye, be sober armed wyth the brest plate of fayth and loue, and with hope of saluacyon for an helmet.
5:9For God hath not appoynted vs to prouoke wrath vnto oure selues, but to obtayne saluacyon by the meanes of oure Lorde Iesu Christ
5:10whych dyed for vs: that whether we wake or slepe, we shulde lyue together wyth him.
5:11Wherfore, comforte your selues together, & edifye euery one another, euen as ye do.
5:12We beseche you brethren, that ye knowe them whych laboure amonge you, and haue the ouersyght of you in the Lorde,
5:13& geue you exhortacyon, that ye haue them in hye reputacyon thorowe loue, for theyr workes sake, and be at peace with them.
5:14We desyre you (brethren) warne them that are vnruly, comforte the feble mynded, lyft vp the weake, be pacient towarde all men.
5:15Se that none recompence euyll for euyll vnto eny man: but euer folowe that whych is good, both amonge your selues, and to all men.
5:16Reioyce euer.
5:17Praye contynually.
5:18In all thynges geue thankes. For this is the wyll of God thorowe Christ Iesu towarde you.
5:19Quenche not the sprete.
5:20Despyse not prophesyinges.
5:21Examen all thynges, kepe that which is good.
5:22Abstayne from all euell appearaunce.
5:23The very God of peace sanctifye you thorowe out. And I praye God that youre whole sprete, and soule and body, maye be preserued: so that in nothyng ye maye be blamed in the commynge of oure Lorde Iesus Chryst.
5:24Faythfull is he whych called you, which wyll also do it.
5:25Brethren, praye for vs.
5:26Grete all the brethren wyth an holy kysse.
5:27I charge you in the Lorde, that this Epistle be red vnto all the holy brethren.
5:28The grace of the Lorde Iesus Christ be wyth you. Amen.

5:1Bvt of the times and seasons, brethren, yee haue no neede that I write vnto you.
5:2For ye your selues knowe perfectly, that the day of the Lord shall come, euen as a thiefe in the night.
5:3For when they shall say, Peace, and safetie, then shall come vpon them sudden destruction, as the trauaile vpon a woman with childe, and they shall not escape,
5:4But ye, brethren, are not in darkenes, that that day shall come on you, as it were a thiefe.
5:5Yee are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, neither of darkenesse.
5:6Therefore let vs not sleepe as do other, but let vs watch and be sober.
5:7For they that sleepe, sleepe in the night, and they that be drunken, are drunken in the night.
5:8But let vs which are of the day, be sober, putting on the brest plate of faith and loue, and of the hope of saluation for an helmet.
5:9For God hath not appointed vs vnto wrath, but to obtaine saluation by the meanes of our Lord Iesus Christ,
5:10Which died for vs, that whether we wake or sleepe, we should liue together with him.
5:11Wherefore exhort one another, and edifie one another, euen as ye doe.
5:12Nowe we beseeche you, brethren, that ye acknowledge them, which labour among you, and are ouer you in the Lord, and admonish you,
5:13That yee haue them in singular loue for their workes sake. Bee at peace among your selues.
5:14We desire you, brethren, admonish them that are out of order: comfort ye feeble minded: beare with the weake: be pacient toward all men.
5:15See that none recompense euil for euil vnto any man: but euer follow that which is good, both toward your selues, and toward all men.
5:16Reioyce euermore.
5:17Pray continually.
5:18In all thinges giue thankes: for this is the will of God in Christ Iesus toward you.
5:19Quench not the Spirit.
5:20Despise not prophecying.
5:21Try all things, and keepe that which is good.
5:22Absteine from all appearance of euill.
5:23Nowe the very God of peace sanctifie you throughout: and I pray God that your whole spirite and soule and body, may be kept blamelesse vnto the comming of our Lord Iesus Christ.
5:24Faithfull is hee which calleth you, which will also doe it.
5:25Brethren, pray for vs.
5:26Greete all the brethren with an holy kisse.
5:27I charge you in the Lord, that this Epistle be read vnto all the brethren the Saintes.
5:28The grace of our Lord Iesus Christ be with you, Amen.
