| 5:1 | But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. |
| 5:2 | For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. |
| 5:3 | For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. |
| 5:4 | But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. |
| 5:5 | Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. |
| 5:6 | Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober. |
| 5:7 | For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night. |
| 5:8 | But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation. |
| 5:9 | For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, |
| 5:10 | Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him. |
| 5:11 | Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do. |
| 5:12 | And we beseech you, brethren, to know them which labour among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you; |
| 5:13 | And to esteem them very highly in love for their work's sake. And be at peace among yourselves. |
| 5:14 | Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men. |
| 5:15 | See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men. |
| 5:16 | Rejoice evermore. |
| 5:17 | Pray without ceasing. |
| 5:18 | In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. |
| 5:19 | Quench not the Spirit. |
| 5:20 | Despise not prophesyings. |
| 5:21 | Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. |
| 5:22 | Abstain from all appearance of evil. |
| 5:23 | And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. |
| 5:24 | Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it. |
| 5:25 | Brethren, pray for us. |
| 5:26 | Greet all the brethren with an holy kiss. |
| 5:27 | I charge you by the Lord that this epistle be read unto all the holy brethren. |
| 5:28 | The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen. |

| 5:2 | αυτοι γαρ ακριβως οιδατε οτι η ημερα κυριου ως κλεπτης εν νυκτι ουτως ερχεται |
| 5:3 | οταν γαρ λεγωσιν ειρηνη και ασφαλεια τοτε αιφνιδιος αυτοις εφισταται ολεθρος ωσπερ η ωδιν τη εν γαστρι εχουση και ου μη εκφυγωσιν |
| 5:4 | υμεις δε αδελφοι ουκ εστε εν σκοτει ινα η ημερα υμας ως κλεπτης καταλαβη |
| 5:5 | παντες υμεις υιοι φωτος εστε και υιοι ημερας ουκ εσμεν νυκτος ουδε σκοτους |
| 5:6 | αρα ουν μη καθευδωμεν ως και οι λοιποι αλλα γρηγορωμεν και νηφωμεν |
| 5:7 | οι γαρ καθευδοντες νυκτος καθευδουσιν και οι μεθυσκομενοι νυκτος μεθυουσιν |
| 5:8 | ημεις δε ημερας οντες νηφωμεν ενδυσαμενοι θωρακα πιστεως και αγαπης και περικεφαλαιαν ελπιδα σωτηριας |
| 5:9 | οτι ουκ εθετο ημας ο θεος εις οργην αλλ εις περιποιησιν σωτηριας δια του κυριου ημων ιησου χριστου |
| 5:10 | του αποθανοντος υπερ ημων ινα ειτε γρηγορωμεν ειτε καθευδωμεν αμα συν αυτω ζησωμεν |
| 5:11 | διο παρακαλειτε αλληλους και οικοδομειτε εις τον ενα καθως και ποιειτε |
| 5:12 | ερωτωμεν δε υμας αδελφοι ειδεναι τους κοπιωντας εν υμιν και προισταμενους υμων εν κυριω και νουθετουντας υμας |
| 5:13 | και ηγεισθαι αυτους υπερ εκπερισσου εν αγαπη δια το εργον αυτων ειρηνευετε εν εαυτοις |
| 5:14 | παρακαλουμεν δε υμας αδελφοι νουθετειτε τους ατακτους παραμυθεισθε τους ολιγοψυχους αντεχεσθε των ασθενων μακροθυμειτε προς παντας |
| 5:15 | ορατε μη τις κακον αντι κακου τινι αποδω αλλα παντοτε το αγαθον διωκετε και εις αλληλους και εις παντας |

| 5:17 | αδιαλειπτως προσευχεσθε |
| 5:18 | εν παντι ευχαριστειτε τουτο γαρ θελημα θεου εν χριστω ιησου εις υμας |
| 5:19 | το πνευμα μη σβεννυτε |
| 5:20 | προφητειας μη εξουθενειτε |
| 5:21 | παντα δοκιμαζετε το καλον κατεχετε |
| 5:22 | απο παντος ειδους πονηρου απεχεσθε |
| 5:23 | αυτος δε ο θεος της ειρηνης αγιασαι υμας ολοτελεις και ολοκληρον υμων το πνευμα και η ψυχη και το σωμα αμεμπτως εν τη παρουσια του κυριου ημων ιησου χριστου τηρηθειη |
| 5:24 | πιστος ο καλων υμας ος και ποιησει |
| 5:25 | αδελφοι προσευχεσθε περι ημων |
| 5:26 | ασπασασθε τους αδελφους παντας εν φιληματι αγιω |
| 5:27 | ορκιζω υμας τον κυριον αναγνωσθηναι την επιστολην πασιν τοις αγιοις αδελφοις |
| 5:28 | η χαρις του κυριου ημων ιησου χριστου μεθ υμων αμην [προς θεσσαλονικεις πρωτη εγραφη απο αθηνων] |
| 5:1 | Of the tymes and seasons brethren ye have no nede that I write vnto you: |
| 5:2 | for ye youre selves knowe parfectly that the daye of the Lorde shall come even as a thefe in the nyght. |
| 5:3 | When they shall saye peace and no daunger than commeth on the soden destruccion as the travalynge of a woma with childe and they shall not scape. |
| 5:4 | But ye brethre are not in darcknes that yt daye shuld come on you as it were a thefe. |
| 5:5 | Ye are all the childre of light and the children of ye daye. We are not of ye nyght nether of darcknes. |
| 5:6 | Therfore let vs not slepe as do other: but let vs watch and be sober. |
| 5:7 | For they that slepe slepe in the nyght: and they that be dronken are dronken in the nyght. |
| 5:8 | But let vs which are of the daye be sober armed with the brest plate of fayth and love and with hope of salvacio as an helmet. |
| 5:9 | For god hath not apoynted vs vnto wrath: but to obtayne salvacion by ye meanes of oure lorde Iesu Christ |
| 5:10 | which died for vs: that whether we wake or slepe we shuld lyve togedder with him. |
| 5:11 | Wherfore comforte youre selves togedder and edifie one another even as ye do. |
| 5:12 | We beseche you brethren that ye knowe them which laboure amonge you and have the oversight of you in the Lorde |
| 5:13 | and geve you exhortacion that ye have them the more in love for their workes sake and be at peace with them. |
| 5:14 | We desyre you brethre warne them that are vnruly comforte the feble mynded forbeare the weake have continuall pacience towarde all men. |
| 5:15 | Se that none recopence evill for evyll vnto eny man: but ever folowe that which is good both amonge youre selves and to all men. |
| 5:16 | Reioyce ever. |
| 5:17 | Praye cotinually. |
| 5:18 | In all thinges geve thankes. For this is the wyll of God in Christ Iesu towarde you. |
| 5:19 | Quenche not the sprete. |
| 5:20 | Despise not prophesyinge. |
| 5:21 | Examen all thinges and kepe that which is good. |
| 5:22 | Abstayne from all suspicious thinges. |
| 5:23 | The very God of peace sanctifie you thorow out. And I praye God that youre whole sprete soulse and body be kept fautlesse vnto ye comynge of oure Lorde Iesus Christ |
| 5:24 | Faythfull is he which called you: which will also do it. |
| 5:25 | Brethre praye for vs. |
| 5:26 | Grete all the brethren with an holy kysse. |
| 5:27 | I charge you in the Lorde that this pistle be reed vnto all the holy brethren. |
| 5:28 | The grace of the Lorde Iesus Christ be with you. Amen. |
