| 5:1 | But concerning the times and the seasons, brethren, you do not have any need that I write to you. |
| 5:2 | Because, you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord comes as a thief in the night. |
| 5:3 | Because, when they say, "Peace and safety!" then sudden destruction comes upon them, like labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they will not escape. |
| 5:4 | But you, brethren, are not in darkness, that this Day should overtake you like a thief. |
| 5:5 | You are all the children of light, and the children of the day, we are not of the night, nor of darkness. |
| 5:6 | Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober. |
| 5:7 | Because, those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who are drunk are drunk at night. |
| 5:8 | But let us who are of the day be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet, the hope of salvation. |
| 5:9 | Because, God has not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, |
| 5:10 | who died for us, that whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with Him. |
| 5:11 | Therefore comfort each other and edify one another, just as you also are doing. |
| 5:12 | And we urge you, brethren, to recognize those who labor among you, and are over you in the Lord and advise you, |
| 5:13 | and to esteem them very highly in love for their work's sake. And be at peace among yourselves. |
| 5:14 | Now we exhort you, brethren, warn those who are disorderly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient towards everyone. |
| 5:15 | See that no one renders evil for evil to anyone, but always pursue that which is good both for yourselves, and for everyone. |
| 5:16 | Rejoice always, |
| 5:17 | pray without ceasing, |
| 5:18 | in everything give thanks; because this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. |
| 5:19 | Do not quench the Spirit. |
| 5:20 | Do not despise prophecies. |
| 5:21 | Test all things; hold firmly to that which is good. |
| 5:22 | Abstain from every appearance of evil. |
| 5:23 | And may the God of peace sanctify you completely; and I ask God that your entire spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. |
| 5:24 | He who calls you is faithful, who also will do it. |
| 5:25 | Brethren, pray for us. |
| 5:26 | Greet all the brethren with a holy kiss. |
| 5:27 | I command you by the Lord that this letter be read to all the holy brethren. |
| 5:28 | The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen. |

| 5:4 | But ye, brethren, are not in darkenes, that that day shall come on you, as it were a thiefe. |
| 5:5 | Yee are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, neither of darkenesse. |
| 5:6 | Therefore let vs not sleepe as do other, but let vs watch and be sober. |

| 5:8 | But let vs which are of the day, be sober, putting on the brest plate of faith and loue, and of the hope of saluation for an helmet. |
| 5:9 | For God hath not appointed vs vnto wrath, but to obtaine saluation by the meanes of our Lord Iesus Christ, |
| 5:10 | Which died for vs, that whether we wake or sleepe, we should liue together with him. |
| 5:11 | Wherefore exhort one another, and edifie one another, euen as ye doe. |
| 5:12 | Nowe we beseeche you, brethren, that ye acknowledge them, which labour among you, and are ouer you in the Lord, and admonish you, |
| 5:13 | That yee haue them in singular loue for their workes sake. Bee at peace among your selues. |
| 5:14 | We desire you, brethren, admonish them that are out of order: comfort ye feeble minded: beare with the weake: be pacient toward all men. |
| 5:15 | See that none recompense euil for euil vnto any man: but euer follow that which is good, both toward your selues, and toward all men. |
| 5:16 | Reioyce euermore. |
| 5:17 | Pray continually. |
| 5:18 | In all thinges giue thankes: for this is the will of God in Christ Iesus toward you. |
| 5:19 | Quench not the Spirit. |
| 5:20 | Despise not prophecying. |
| 5:21 | Try all things, and keepe that which is good. |
| 5:22 | Absteine from all appearance of euill. |
| 5:23 | Nowe the very God of peace sanctifie you throughout: and I pray God that your whole spirite and soule and body, may be kept blamelesse vnto the comming of our Lord Iesus Christ. |
| 5:24 | Faithfull is hee which calleth you, which will also doe it. |
| 5:25 | Brethren, pray for vs. |
| 5:26 | Greete all the brethren with an holy kisse. |
| 5:27 | I charge you in the Lord, that this Epistle be read vnto all the brethren the Saintes. |
| 5:28 | The grace of our Lord Iesus Christ be with you, Amen. |

| 5:5 | Ye are all the childre of light and the children of ye daye. We are not of ye nyght nether of darcknes. |
| 5:6 | Therfore let vs not slepe as do other: but let vs watch and be sober. |
| 5:7 | For they that slepe slepe in the nyght: and they that be dronken are dronken in the nyght. |
| 5:8 | But let vs which are of the daye be sober armed with the brest plate of fayth and love and with hope of salvacio as an helmet. |
| 5:9 | For god hath not apoynted vs vnto wrath: but to obtayne salvacion by ye meanes of oure lorde Iesu Christ |
| 5:10 | which died for vs: that whether we wake or slepe we shuld lyve togedder with him. |
| 5:11 | Wherfore comforte youre selves togedder and edifie one another even as ye do. |
| 5:12 | We beseche you brethren that ye knowe them which laboure amonge you and have the oversight of you in the Lorde |
| 5:13 | and geve you exhortacion that ye have them the more in love for their workes sake and be at peace with them. |
| 5:14 | We desyre you brethre warne them that are vnruly comforte the feble mynded forbeare the weake have continuall pacience towarde all men. |
| 5:15 | Se that none recopence evill for evyll vnto eny man: but ever folowe that which is good both amonge youre selves and to all men. |
| 5:16 | Reioyce ever. |
| 5:17 | Praye cotinually. |
| 5:18 | In all thinges geve thankes. For this is the wyll of God in Christ Iesu towarde you. |
| 5:19 | Quenche not the sprete. |
| 5:20 | Despise not prophesyinge. |
| 5:21 | Examen all thinges and kepe that which is good. |
| 5:22 | Abstayne from all suspicious thinges. |
| 5:23 | The very God of peace sanctifie you thorow out. And I praye God that youre whole sprete soulse and body be kept fautlesse vnto ye comynge of oure Lorde Iesus Christ |
| 5:24 | Faythfull is he which called you: which will also do it. |
| 5:25 | Brethre praye for vs. |
| 5:26 | Grete all the brethren with an holy kysse. |
| 5:27 | I charge you in the Lorde that this pistle be reed vnto all the holy brethren. |
| 5:28 | The grace of the Lorde Iesus Christ be with you. Amen. |
