| 1:8 | in the flawme of fier, that schal yyue veniaunce to hem that knowen not God, and that obeien not to the euangelie of oure Lord Jhesu Crist. |
| 1:9 | Whiche schulen suffre euere lastinge peynes, in perischinge fro the face of the Lord, and fro the glorie of his vertu, |
| 1:10 | whanne he schal come to be glorified in hise seyntis, and to be maad wondurful in alle men that bileueden, for oure witnessing is bileuyd on you, in that dai. |
| 1:11 | In which thing also we preien euere more for you, that oure God make you worthi to his cleping, and fille al the wille of his goodnesse, and the werk of feith in vertu; |
| 1:12 | that the name of oure Lord Jhesu Crist be clarified in you, and ye in hym, bi the grace of oure Lord Jhesu Crist. |

| 1:3 | We ought to thanke God alwayes for you, brethren, as it is meete, because that your faith groweth exceedingly, and the loue of euery one of you toward another, aboundeth, |
| 1:4 | So that we our selues reioyce of you in the Churches of God, because of your patience and faith in al your persecutions and tribulatios that ye suffer, |
| 1:5 | Which is a manifest token of the righteous iudgement of God, that ye may be counted worthy of the kingdome of God, for the which ye also suffer. |
| 1:6 | For it is a righteous thing with God, to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you, |
| 1:7 | And to you which are troubled, rest with vs, when the Lord Iesus shall shewe himselfe from heauen with his mightie Angels, |
| 1:8 | In flaming fire, rendring vengeance vnto them, that doe not know God, and which obey not vnto the Gospel of our Lord Iesus Christ, |
| 1:9 | Which shall be punished with euerlasting perdition, from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power, |
| 1:10 | When he shall come to be glorified in his Saints, and to be made marueilous in all them that beleeue ( because our testimonie toward you was beleeued) in that day. |
| 1:11 | Wherefore, we also pray alwayes for you, that our God may make you worthy of this calling, and fulfill all the good pleasure of his goodnes, and the worke of faith with power, |
| 1:12 | That the Name of our Lord Iesus Christ may be glorified in you, and ye in him, according to the grace of our God, and of the Lord Iesus Christ. |

| 1:3 | We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is fitting, because your faith grows exceptionally, and the love of every one of you all abounds toward each other, |
| 1:4 | so that we ourselves boast about you in the churches of God for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and afflictions that you endure, |
| 1:5 | which is clear evidence of the righteous judgment of God, that you may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which you also suffer; |
| 1:6 | seeing it is a righteous thing with God to repay with affliction those who trouble you, |
| 1:7 | and you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus will be revealed from heaven with His mighty angels, |
| 1:8 | in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God, and who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. |
| 1:9 | These will be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of His power, |
| 1:10 | when He comes in that day to be glorified in His saints, and to be admired among all those who believe, because our testimony among you was believed. |
| 1:11 | Therefore we also pray always for you, that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfill all the good pleasure of His goodness, and the work of faith with power, |
| 1:12 | that the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in you, and you in Him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ. |
