2 Timothy - Chapter: 1

1:1Paul an Apostle of Iesus Christ, by the wyll of God, accordynge to the promes of lyfe which is in Christ Iesu.
1:2To Timothe hys beloued sonne. Grace mercy and peace from God the father, & from Iesu Christ our Lorde.
1:3I thanke God, whom I serue from myne elders with pure conscience, that without anye ceasynge I make mencyon of the in my prayers nyght and daye,
1:4desyringe to se the, myndefull of thy teares: so that I am fylled with ioye,
1:5when I call to remembraunce the vnfayned fayth that is in the, which dwelt fyrst in thy graundmother Lois, and in thy mother Eunica: & I am assured that it dwelleth in the also.
1:6Wherfore I warne the that thou stere vp the gyfte of God which is in the by the puttynge on of my handes.
1:7For God hath not geuen to vs the sprete of feare: but of power, and of loue, and of sobrenes.
1:8Be not thou therfore ashamed of the testimony of oure Lorde, nether be ashamed of me whych am his presoner: but suffre thou aduersytie with the Gospell, accordynge to the power of God,
1:9which saued vs, and called vs with an holy callynge, not accordynge to oure dedes, but accordynge to his awne purpose & grace, whych was geuen vs thorowe Christ Iesu (before the worlde beganne)
1:10but is nowe declared openly by the appearynge of oure sauyour Iesu Christ whych hath put awaye deeth, and hath brought lyfe and immortalite vnto lyght thorowe the Gospell,
1:11whervnto I am apoynted, a preacher & Apostle, and a teacher of the Gentyls:
1:12for the whych cause I also suffre these thynges. Neuerthelesse, I am not ashamed. For I knowe, and am sure, that he (in whom I haue put my trust) is able to kepe that whych I haue committed to hys kepynge, agaynst that daye.
1:13Se that thou haue the ensample of the holsome wordes, whych thou hast hearde of me with fayth and loue that is in Christ Iesu.
1:14That good thynge, whych was committed to thy kepynge, holde fast thorowe the holy goost, which dwelleth in vs.
1:15This thou knowest, howe that all they which are in Asia, be turned from me: of whych sorte are Phigelus and Hermogenes.
1:16The Lorde geue mercye vnto the housholde of Onesyphorus for he ofte refreshed me, and was not ashamed of my chayne:
1:17but when he was at Rome, he sought me out very diligently, & founde me.
1:18The Lorde graunt vnto hym that he maye fynde mercye with the Lorde at that daye. And in howe many thynges he ministred vnto me at Ephesus, thou knowest very well.

1:4niyt and dai, desirynge to se thee; hauynge mynde of thi teeris, that Y be fillid with ioye.
1:5And Y bithenke of that feith, that is in thee not feyned, which also dwellide firste in thin aunte Loide, and in thi modir Eunyce. And Y am certeyn, that also in thee.
1:6For which cause Y moneste thee, that thou reise ayen the grace of God, that is in thee bi the settyng on of myn hondis.
1:7For whi God yaf not to vs the spirit of drede, but of vertu, and of loue, and of sobrenesse.
1:8Therfor nyl thou schame the witnessyng of oure Lord Jhesu Crist, nether me, his prisoner; but trauele thou togidere in the gospel bi the vertu of God;
1:9that delyueride vs, and clepide with his hooli clepyng, not after oure werkis, but bi his purpos and grace, that is youun in Crist Jhesu bifore worldli tymes;
1:10but now it is opyn bi the liytnyng of oure sauyour Jhesu Crist, which destriede deth, and liytnede lijf and vncorrupcioun bi the gospel.
1:11In which Y am set a prechour and apostle, and maistir of hethene men.
1:12For which cause also Y suffre these thingis; but Y am not confoundid. For Y woot to whom Y haue bileuyd, and Y am certeyne that he is miyti for to kepe that is take to my keping in to that dai.
1:13Haue thou the fourme of hoolsum wordis, whiche thou herdist of me in feith and loue in Crist Jhesu.
1:14Kepe thou the good takun to thi kepyng bi the Hooli Goost, that dwellith in vs.
1:15Thou wost this, that alle that ben in Asie ben turnyd awey fro me, of whiche is Figelus and Ermogenes.
1:16The Lord yyue merci to the hous of Onesyforus, for ofte he refreischide me, and schamyde not my chayne.
1:17But whanne he cam to Rome, he souyte me bisili, and foond.
1:18The Lord yyue to hym to fynde merci of God in that dai. And hou grete thingis he mynystride to me at Effesi, thou knowist betere.

1:8Be not thou asshamed therfore of ye testimony of or LORDE, nether of me, which am his presoner: but suffre thou aduersite also wt the Gospell, acordinge to the power of God
1:9which hath saued vs, and called vs with an holy callynge: not acordinge to oure dedes, but acordinge to his owne purpose and grace, which was geuen vs in Christ Iesu before the tyme of the worlde,
1:10but is now declared openly by the appearynge of oure Sauioure Iesu Christ. Which hath taken awaye ye power of death, and hath brought life and immortalite vnto lighte, thorow the Gospell:
1:11whervnto I am appoynted a preacher and an Apostell, and a teacher of the Heythen:
1:12for the which cause I also suffre these thinges, neuertheles I am not ashamed. For I knowe whom I haue beleued, and am sure that he is able to kepe that which I haue commytted vnto his kepynge agaynst that daye.
1:13Holde the after ye ensample of the wholsome wordes, which thou heardest of me, concernynge faith and loue in Christ Iesu.
1:14This hye charge kepe thou thorow the holy goost, which dwelleth in vs.
1:15This thou knowest, that all they which are in Asia, be turned fro me, of which sorte are Phigelus and Hermogenes.
1:16The LORDE geue mercy vnto the house of Onesiphorus: for he oft refresshed me, and was not asshamed of my cheyne:
1:17but whan he was at Rome he soughte me out very diligently, and founde me.
1:18The LORDE graunte vnto him, that he maye fynde mercy with the LORDE in that daye. And how moch he mynistred vnto me at Ephesus, thou knowest very well.
