2 Timothy - Chapter: 2

>
2:1You therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.
2:2And the things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit the same to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.
2:3You therefore endure hardship as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.
2:4No one engaged in warfare entangles himself with the affairs of this life, that he may please him who enlisted him as a soldier.
2:5And likewise if anyone competes in athletics, he is not crowned unless he competes according to the rules.
2:6The hardworking farmer must be first to partake of the crops.
2:7Consider what I say, and may the Lord give you understanding in all things.
2:8Remember that Jesus Christ, of the seed of David, was raised from the dead according to my gospel,
2:9for which I suffer trouble as an evildoer, even to the point of chains; but the word of God is not bound.
2:10Therefore I endure all things for the sake of the elect, that they also may obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.
2:11This is a faithful saying: because if we died with Him, we will also live with Him.
2:12If we suffer, we will also reign with Him. If we deny Him, He also will deny us.
2:13If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself.
2:14Remind them of these things, commanding them before the Lord not to strive about words to no profit, to the ruin of the hearers.
2:15Study to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
2:16But shun profane and vain babblings, because they will increase to more ungodliness.
2:17And their word will eat like gangrene. Hymenaeus and Philetus are of this sort,
2:18who have strayed concerning the truth, saying that the resurrection is already past; and they overthrow the faith of some.
2:19Nevertheless the foundation of God stands firm, having this seal: "The Lord knows those who are His," and, "Let everyone who names the name of Christ depart from iniquity."
2:20But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay, some for honor and some for dishonor.
2:21Therefore if anyone cleanses himself from the latter, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified and useful for the Master, and prepared for every good work.
2:22Flee youthful lusts also; but pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.
2:23But avoid foolish and ignorant disputes, knowing that they generate strife.
2:24And a servant of the Lord must not quarrel but be gentle to all people, able to teach, patient,
2:25in humility correcting those who are in opposition, if God perhaps will grant them repentance, so that they may know the truth,
2:26and that they may come to their senses and escape the snare of the devil, having been taken captive by him to do his will.

2:1Thou therefore, my sonne, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Iesus.
2:2And what things thou hast heard of me, by many witnesses, ye same deliuer to faithfull men, which shalbe able to teache other also.
2:3Thou therefore suffer affliction as a good souldier of Iesus Christ.
2:4No man that warreth, entangleth himselfe with the affaires of this life, because he woulde please him that hath chosen him to be a souldier.
2:5And if any man also striue for a Masterie, he is not crowned, except he striue as he ought to doe.
2:6The husbandman must labour before he receiue the fruites.
2:7Consider what I say: and the Lord giue thee vnderstanding in all things:
2:8Remember that Iesus Christ, made of the seede of Dauid, was raysed againe from the dead according to my Gospel,
2:9Wherein I suffer trouble as an euill doer, euen vnto bondes: but the worde of God is not bounde.
2:10Therefore I suffer all things, for the elects sake, that they might also obtaine the saluation which is in Christ Iesus, with eternall glorie.
2:11It is a true saying, For if we be dead together with him, we also shall liue together with him.
2:12If we suffer, we shall also reigne together with him: if we denie him, he also will denie vs.
2:13If we beleeue not, yet abideth he faithfull: he cannot denie himselfe.
2:14Of these things put them in remembrance, and protest before the Lord, that they striue not about wordes, which is to no profit, but to the peruerting of the hearers.
2:15Studie to shewe thy selfe approued vnto God, a workeman that needeth not to be ashamed, diuiding the worde of trueth aright.
2:16Stay prophane, and vaine babblings: for they shall encrease vnto more vngodlinesse.
2:17And their worde shall fret as a canker: of which sort is Hymeneus and Philetus,
2:18Which as concerning ye trueth haue erred from the marke, saying that the resurrection is past alreadie, and do destroy the faith of certaine.
2:19But the foundation of God remaineth sure, and hath this seale, The Lord knoweth who are his: and, Let euery one that calleth on the Name of Christ, depart from iniquitie.
2:20Notwithstanding in a great house are not onely vessels of gold and of siluer, but also of wood and of earth, and some for honour, and some vnto dishonour.
2:21If any man therefore purge him selfe from these, he shalbe a vessell vnto honour, sanctified, and meete for the Lord, and prepared vnto euery good worke.
2:22Flee also from the lustes of youth, and follow after righteousnes, faith, loue, and peace, with them that call on the Lord with pure heart,
2:23And put away foolish and vnlearned questions, knowing that they ingender strife.
2:24But the seruant of ye Lord must not striue, but must be gentle toward all men, apt to teache, suffering the euill,
2:25Instructing them with meekenesse that are contrary minded, prouing if God at any time will giue them repentance, that they may acknowledge the trueth,
2:26And come to amendment out of that snare of the deuil, of whom they are taken prisoners, to doe his will.

2:1Thou therfore my sonne be stronge in the grace that is in Christ Iesu.
2:2And what thynges thou hast hearde of me many bearynge witnes the same diliver to faythfull men which are apte to teache other
2:3Thou therfore suffre affliccion as a good soudier of Iesu Christ.
2:4No man that warreth entanglith him silfe with worldely busynes and that be cause he wolde please him that hath chosen him to be a soudier.
2:5And though a man strive for a mastery yet ys he not crouned except he strive laufully.
2:6The husbandma that laboreth must fyrst receave of the frutes.
2:7Consyder what I saye. The lorde geve the vnderstondynge in all thynges.
2:8Remember that Iesus Christ beynge of he sede of David rose agayne fro deth accordynge to my gospell
2:9wherin I suffre trouble as an evyll doar even vnto bondes. But the worde of god was not bounde.
2:10Herefore I suffre all thinges for ye electes sakes that they myght also obtayne that saluacion which is in Christ Iesu with eternall glory.
2:11It is a true sayinge if we be deed wt him we also shall live with him.
2:12Yf we be pacient we shall also raigne wt him. If we denye him he also shall denye vs.
2:13Yf we beleve not yet abideth he faithfull. He cannot denye him silfe.
2:14Of these thynges put them in remembraunce and testifie before the lorde that they stryve not about wordes which is to no proffet but to pervert the hearers.
2:15Study to shewe thy silfe laudable vnto god a workman yt nedeth not to be a shamed dividynge the worde of trueth iustly
2:16Vngostly and vayne voyces passe over. For they shall encreace vnto greater vngodlynes
2:17and their wordes shall fret even as doeth a cancre: of whose nombre ys Hymeneos and Philetos
2:18which as concernynge the trueth have erred sayinge that the resurreccion is past all redy and do destroye the fayth of divers persones.
2:19But the sure grounde of god remayneth and hath this seale: the lorde knoweth them that are his and let every man that calleth on the name of Christ departe from iniquite.
2:20Not withstondinge in a greate housse are not only vesselles of golde and of silver: but also of wood and of erthe some for honoure and some vnto dishonoure.
2:21But Yf a man purdge him silfe from suche felowes he shalbe a vessell sanctified vnto honoure mete for the lorde and prepared vnto all good workes.
2:22Lustes of youth avoyde and folowe rightwesnes fayth love and peace with them that call on the lorde with pure herte.
2:23Folisshe and vnlearned questions put from the remebrynge that they do but gendre stryfe.
2:24But the servaunt of the lorde must not stryve: but must be peasable vnto all men and apte to teache and one that can suffre:
2:25the evyll in meknes and can informe them that resist yf that god at eny tyme will geve them repentauce for to knowe the trueth:
2:26that they maye come to the selves agayne out of the snare of the devyll which are now taken of him at his will.
