James - Chapter: 3

>
3:1My brethren be not euery man a mayster, remembrynge howe that we shal receyue the more damnacyon:
3:2for in many thinges we synne all. Yf a man synne not in worde, the same is a perfect man and able to tame al the bodye.
3:3Beholde we put bittes into the horsses mouthes that they shoulde obeye vs, and we turne aboute all the body.
3:4Behold also the shyppes, which though they be so greate and are dryuen of fyers wyndes, yet are they turned aboute wyth a verye smale helme, whether soeuer the vyolence of the gouerner wyll
3:5euen so the tonge is a lyttell member, and boasteth greate thinges. Beholde howe greate a thynge a lyttell fyre kyndleth,
3:6and the tonge is fyre, and a worlde of wickednes. So is the tong set among our members, that it defyleth the whole body and setteth a fyre all that we haue of nature, & is it selfe set a fyre euen of hell.
3:7All the natures of beastes, and of byrdes, and of serpentes, and thynges of the sea, are meked and tamed of the nature of man.
3:8But the tonge can no man tame. It is an vnrulye euyll ful of deadly poyson.
3:9Therewyth blesse we God the father, and therewyth cursse wemen which are made after the similitude of God.
3:10Out of one mouth proceadeth blessynge and curssynge. My brethren these thynges ought not so to be.
3:11Doth a fountayne sende forth at one place swete water & bitter also?
3:12Can the fygge tree, my Brethren, beare olyue beryes: other a vyne beare fygges?
3:13So can no fountayne geue both salte water & freshe also. If any man be wyse and endued wyth learnynge amonge you, let hym shewe the workes of hys good conuersacyon in mekenes that is coupled with wysdome.
3:14But, yf ye haue bitter enuyinge and strife in youre hertes, reioyce not: neyther be lyars agaynste the trueth.
3:15Thys wysedome descendeth not from aboue: but is earthye, & naturall, and deuelyshe:
3:16For where enuiynge and stryfe is there is vnstablenes and all maner of euyll workes.
3:17But the wysedome that is from aboue, is fyrste pure, then peasable, gentle, and easye to be entreated, full of mercye & good frutes, wythoute iudgynge, and wythout simulacyon:
3:18yea, & the frute of ryghtuousnes is sowen in peace, of them that maintayne peace.

3:1My brethren, be not many masters, knowing that we shall receiue the greater condemnation.
3:2For in many things we sinne all. If any man sinne not in word, he is a perfect man, and able to bridle all the body.
3:3Beholde, we put bittes into the horses mouthes, that they should obey vs, and we turne about all their bodie.
3:4Behold also the shippes, which though they be so great, and are driuen of fierce windes, yet are they turned about with a very small rudder, whither soeuer the gouernour listeth.
3:5Euen so the tongue is a litle member, and boasteth of great things: beholde, howe great a thing a litle fire kindleth.
3:6And the tongue is fire, yea, a worlde of wickednesse: so is the tongue set among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature, and it is set on fire of hell.
3:7For the whole nature of beasts, and of birds, and of creeping things, and things of the sea is tamed, and hath bene tamed of the nature of man.
3:8But the tongue can no man tame. It is an vnruly euill, full of deadly poyson.
3:9Therewith blesse we God euen the Father, and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God.
3:10Out of one mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing: my brethren, these things ought not so to be.
3:11Doeth a fountaine send forth at one place sweete water and bitter?
3:12Can ye figge tree, my brethren, bring forth oliues, either a vine figges? so can no fountaine make both salt water and sweete.
3:13Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew by good conuersation his workes in meekenesse of wisdome.
3:14But if ye haue bitter enuying and strife in your hearts, reioyce not, neither be liars against the trueth.
3:15This wisedome descendeth not from aboue, but is earthly, sensuall, and deuilish.
3:16For where enuying and strife is, there is sedition, and all maner of euill workes.
3:17But the wisedome that is from aboue, is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, easie to be intreated, full of mercie and good fruites, without iudging, and without hipocrisie.
3:18And the fruite of righteousnesse is sowen in peace, of them that make peace.

3:1My brethren, bee not many masters, knowing that we shall receiue the greater condemnation.
3:2For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body.
3:3Behold, we put bittes in the horses mouthes, that they may obey vs, and we turne about their whole body.
3:4Behold also the ships, which though they be so great, and are driuen of fierce windes, yet are they turned about with a very small helme, whithersoeuer the gouernour listeth.
3:5Euen so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things: behold, how great a matter a litle fire kindleth.
3:6And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquitie: so is the tongue amongst our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature, and it is set on fire of hell.
3:7For euery kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and things in the sea, is tamed, and hath been tamed of mankind.
3:8But the tongue can no man tame, it is an vnruly euill, ful of deadly poyson.
3:9Therewith blesse wee God, euen the Father: and therewith curse wee men, which are made after the similitude of God.
3:10Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing: my brethren, these things ought not so to be.
3:11Doeth a fountaine send foorth at the same place sweet water and bitter?
3:12Can ye figtree, my brethren, beare oliue berries? either a vine, figs? so can no fountaine both yeeld salt water & fresh.
3:13Who is a wise man and indued with knowledge amongst you? let him shew out of a good conuersation his workes with meekenes of wisedome.
3:14But if ye haue bitter enuying and strife in your hearts glory not, and lie not against the trueth.
3:15This wisedome descendeth not from aboue, but is earthly, sensuall, deuilish.
3:16For where enuying and strife is, there is confusion, and euery euill worke.
3:17But the wisedome that is from aboue, is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easie to be intreated, full of mercy, and good fruits, without partialitie, and without hypocrisie.
3:18And the fruit of righteousnesse is sowen in peace, of them that make peace.
